CC thinks Flash CS6 is installed and it isn't

Okay, I really need Flash CS6, because Flash CC doesn't publish any lower than Flash 10.3 and won't publish AS2 which is what the websites' specifications call for. This alone is causing massive headaches.
So I need Flash CS6 which I used to have installed (legally) but my licence expired so I went to Creative Cloud.
Creative Cloud Desktop still thinks I have Flash CS6 on my workstations but I don't. I deleted it when I went to an SSD for the system hard drive.
So I can't download Flash CS6 either and I have web banners to despatch.
Massive frustration here...

Okay, to sort the problem (no thanks at all to Adobe. I was on 'Live Chat' for an hour with no help...) I 'got' a .dmg file for Flash CS6 and when I installed it I just clicked on 'I have a subscription'.
But the problem with the Creative Cloud Desktop persists - there is too much reliance on it (no alternative download options) and the software itself is flakey. It's constantly asking to update itself, lord knows why and then it doesn't work when you do actually need it. And since I'm now paying monthly for service, I'm less than impressed with both the product and Adobe's attitude. Why take away support for AS2 and Flash <10.2? Bah humbug...

Why doesn't flash player stay installed and why does the saved file disappear. I have downloaded and installed flash player several times on my Win7 Vaio laptop. I have uninstalled and deleted all versions. I am the administrator and I have also turned off my Security Software, but the same thing keeps happening over and over. The Java Script is enabled and I have tried both downloading via IE and firefox. It is rediculous that it keeps disappearing and I keep getting messages that the newest version is needed. I am downloading directly from adobe and they say it is the latest. Getting very frustrated. They ask if we have any problems when we go to the finish line, but there is no place for comments. I guess they don't really care if it works or not.

So is it actually installed, or is it not? If not, download and run the offline installers:

I have the latest version of flash player installed and enabled. When I go to Adobe's test page, it recognizes the install and lists the correct version number, but the test animation at the top of the page fails to load properly. Also, the applications handler in Firefox's 'options' menu fails to list any flash compatible file types. On YouTube, I'm met with the video throbber stuck, unmoving, against a black rectangle. Right clicking the video and trying to view the 'settings' dialog does nothing.

fixed first download link as it was linking to Shockwave player and not the proper Flash player. If it says shockwave in end of link then that is not Flash but the shockwave for director or rather shockwave player.

Flash player is installed and up to date, but Safari refuses to register it.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled flash player multiple times, and in my preferences it's listed as version 11.1.102.55. Yet when I open Safari all I see is "Missing Plug-In" as though it isn't even on my computer. I'd rather not change browsers, as I haven't had this problem for almost a year until now.

On a Mac, it is installed in the Applications folder. You would either launch it from there the first time. Then I would add it to the dock.

Where did you hear that? That's simply completely untrue. Using multiple versions of CS products never has been an issue and neither is it for CC and CS6. Each major version uses it's own unique activation.

I have uninstalled FP and Java. Reinstalled and enabled BOTH. Turned off my firewall and my security system before I installed both. When I test FP it says it is not installed and to DL. Flash player is installed and fully up to date but keeps crashing my streams trying to make me install it again

I'm on a Mac, 10.8.5
I am trying to watch video streams but every few minutes the tab switches to a flash popup that says I have to install flash to view the page. I installed it and it is all up to date but it keeps doing this over and over and over and over.
Why is Adobe doing this and what do I need to do to make it stop? It's extremely annoying and so far customer service has been absolutely useless despite the so-called support promise they have.
Someone please help with this problem...

Also if there is a link I can use for one of those instant message chat supports (if Adobe offers that) can someone put it here? I keep following prompts on the website that look like they're sending you to someone who can help but all they do is send your in circles. I think Adobe should re-think that "promise" for support since even their phone lines don't have any option for Flash support or even an email address. Absolutely NOT a good company for customer support, that's for sure.

I have FB4 and Flash Pro CS5 installed and get the message "This feature requires Adobe Flash CS5"

I have installed both FB4 and Flash CS5 as trial versions. I installed FB4 as a plugin into eclipse Gallileo and then installed CS5. When trying to create a new Flash Project in Eclipse I get the message "This feature requires Adobe Flash CS5 or higher to be installed.", although CS5 is installed.
I tried reinstalling FB4 but it didn't help.
If FB4 is installed as standalone, then its eclipse IDE has no problem creating new Flash Projects.
Any idea why the plugin doesn't detect my Flash Pro CS5 installation?

The latest version of flash player is installed and yet none of the programs that use it can find or access it. I am running Windows 7. Is there anything in the Registry that could be blocking flash player from being accessed or used?

The subject is the question. Files with flv extensions cannot be run or identified. Other software that uses flash player such as Rhapsody, can't find or use it either. It feels like a registry problem. Please do not waste time suggesting I uninstall and reinstall flash player as I have done than several times with no improvement or solution.

Flash Player is a plugin, and typically used by browsers (and sometimes other software.) Flash, by itself, won't open flv files. Instead you'd load those files into your web browser and it would load Flash to render them.
I don't know if Rhapsody uses the ActiveX or NPAPI versions of Flash Player. Which do you have installed? You can check this by going into the Programs and Features control panel and looking for the Adobe Flash Player entry(s). It'll say NPAPI, PPAPI, or ActiveX at the end.

this installer works but it is not that what i get from adobe by default.

lol. install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih.exe uses internet explorer engine to download install_flash_player.exe.
i use mozilla firefox and so install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih.exe must use firefox and not internet explorer !

Auto-checking if Flash player is installed and loading other page if not

can someone tell me if it's possible and if yes what the
script is and
where to put it in order to:
have the browser check upon loading page X to see if the
user's computer has Flash player installed. If answer is "no", then
browser loads page Y instead of page X.

You can detect the Flash player (and version) with javascript
and redirect or change the visibility of DOM objects based on the
detection results.
I believe that SWFObject has this functionality built in by
default:

Dreamweaver also has a pre-built behavior to do this.
Behaviors panel: click the plus button and select "Check Plugin",
select "Flash" from the drop-down list at the top and fill in the 2
URLs. Presto!

I have intalled CS4 Design Premium and Flash Builder 4 (the trial version). According to this Adobe
training video they should work together "http://tv.adobe.com/watch/adc-presents/flash-builder-4-and-flash-professional-cs4-workflow /".
However, when i try to create Flash Professional component for use in Flex as specified in the the workflow video to (i.e. copy a .fla to
Flex Project lib directory or drag "custom" Flash Professional component onto state to link to Flash Pro) - I get the "This feature requires Adobe Flash CS5"
error mesage.
