CC updates always fail? Need help.

Hello all,
I have CC and a prompt to update Premiere Pro and Photoshop two programs I use frequently. Recently, however, I have been unable to open either because I have yet to install the updates. Problem: each time I try to install the updates they fail midway through the process. I've tried dozens of times and they never work.
There's only one thing I can think of.
When I first downloaded CC, it failed installing midway through each time as well. When I contacted support, they were able to instruct me to delete some temp file (or something or other) in the Adobe folder in finder, so I can imagine there may be a problem with that kind of cached file or something like that again. The whole issue had something to do with the fact that I had previously had a trial of CC months earlier.
Anyway, if anyone has a possible solution to this issue I'd be especially grateful. I am editing a film for film school that is *required* to be cut on Premiere though I'm usually working with other programs so it's time sensitive to a degree.
Thanks!

  • HT4623 update always fails when i download it

I am trying to update my iphone 4 to ios6 but the update always fails during download

I think I'd try to manually download the *.ipsw file specific for your device and install from that.  If you aren't sure what to do you can do a Google Search on installing iOS from an IPSW manually.

  • Why do Extension Manager "updates" always fail to "update"?

Why to Extension Manager "updates" always fail to "update"?

What's your current Extension Manager version (6.0.X or 7.0.X or ...)? What's your OS (Windows 7 or Mac)?
If you are using Extension Manager CS6, the simplest way is to delete the EM installation folder manually, then download the latest full installer from http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/em6_download.html and install it, then you will have the latest update.
For Extension Manager CC, please go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers" (Windows 7) or "/Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers" (Mac) and send the installer log file (The file name is something like "Adobe Extension Manager CC 7.1.1 12-16-2013.log.gz") to [email protected] so that we can check it.

jpatricio787 wrote: ... is it possible to use it with my white MacBook ?...
OK so yes, but if, and only if:
    (1) your MacBook has a Firewire port (not all do)
        - and -
    (2) your old external iSight camera works (not all do)
        - and -
    (3) your MacBook is working properly.
If you are not certain whether your MacBook model has Firewire, you can search MacBook Technical Specifications for your model.  Alternatively, check the  User Guide Manual that came with your MacBook for the information you need to be certain.
If you are not certain that your old external iSight camera works, you can test it using the suggestions in this link.
jpatricio787 wrote: ... if so how do I go about it ? ...
Follow the instructions in your iSight User's Guide to connect and turn on the iSight.  Then launch the Apple app you want to use with your iSight.  If you need more information about using an app, search for "camera" (without the quote marks) in the Help menu choice for the app.

If you need more direction, post back the specifics of what you still need.  We will offer further direction based on the details of your reply.

I updated to the 7.1.2 and now my wifi is messed up and my service is screwed up and I wasn't having any problems until I updated! I need help!!

Hopefully you won't have to make a trip to the Apple Store.
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that does not help, restore the software >  iTunes: Restoring iOS software

  • ITunes update always fails on Windows 7 x64

I have had this problem for over a year on my Windows 7 64-bit system.  Whenever there is a new version of iTunes, I try and update using the iTunes Software Update notification that pops up.  This always fails to install.  I am then forced to uninstall it fully and re-install using the directions located here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
The above works but is a major hassle.  I don't understand why this keeps happening and have looked for solutions here and elsewhere.  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

I have had this problem on my x64 Win7 machine for as long as I can remember.  I may however have found a solution.  I recently added another User Account (non-admin) to my machine so my wife could use it too.  Whilst logged in her account today iTunes popped up with an update.  I had tried this update (10.6.3.25) on my windows account a couple of times with it failing each time.  I had decided I could no longer be bothered going through the full uninstall/reinstall process again and wasn't going to bother.
For some reason though I thought I'd give it a go on my wife's windows login. It worked just fine.......
So my suggestion is to create another Windows User Account and see if you can update iTunes from that account instead.  It's the first time in at least 18 months that iTunes update has worked properly.

  • Software update always fails due to "unknown error"

When I attempt to install software updates on my Macbook Air the process always fails with an error message that says "unable to install due to unexpected error" (or something like that). Any ideas how to fix this problem? I've found some references to this problem in the discussions but the proposed fix didn't work for me.

System Info:     Window Vista Home Premium (Service Pak 2)
              Intel Core 2 CPU T5200 @1.60 GHz
              RAM     2 GB
              32 bit OS
    JAVA 6 SE Update 18 (build 1.6.0_18_b07)
I am just an old guy, not a techie, with diabetes who uses Bayer?s CLUCOFACTS Deluxe for Windows to monitor/manage my blood sugars.
A couple of weeks ago I had a warning message on starting up the program which led to a call to Bayer. They advised me to update my JAVA applications, which I did. Since that time, I have not been able to open the Bayer?s CLUCOFACTS Deluxe for Windows application.
I searched the web to see if anyone had a similar problem. It appears a number of people have the same issue and have not been able to solve the problem. I signed up and logged into the JAVA site to see if there might be some clue . . . the lingo is over my head. I did check JAVA, via the site to insure it was running properly on my local disk.
My gut feeling is a link was broken when the original JAVA was cleaned from the computer in preparation to do a fresh download of JAVA. When the current version was loaded, I was unable to open the application. Thinking it might be a matter of how the programs were loaded, I then downloaded/reinstalled Bayer?s CLUCOFACTS Deluxe for Windows without any luck.
I am willing to give this another go if you have any specific advice that may help me find a solution. Because I am hearing impaired, the telephone is not an option for working through this problem. We have to rely on email.
I need very simplified, step by step, instructions get the program up and running again. (Example: Start > Control Panel > JAVA right click > Open)
I am not into programming or the development side of JAVA; I am just a simple user who needs some advice on how to get the program up and running again in order to manage my diabetes.
Thank you so very much for taking time to help me!
    Jim

    Seems you're [not alone|http://www.health-forums.com/alt-support-diabetes/bayer-glucofacts-deluxe-problem-136625.html] <-- link
Best guess advice is to uninstall Java completely and then install the Java version that came on your GLUCOFACTS (not CLUCOFACTS) CD. Then, from Control Panel -- > Java, clear the checkbox for "Check for updates automatically".
    Good luck!

Oh, it's probably not a CD but the Java folder on your USB device.

  • Hard Drive Failed Need Help!

Hey guys, heres my story. My hard drive failed last week (wouldnt go past white screen), took it to genius bar, they ran Disk Warrior and it seemed to fix it. As a precautionary measure I bought a 1tb external drive and backep up my system via time machine. Today my imac froze and I am having the same problem, wont boot past white screen. I am 2 months out of my warranty and need to know what is the easiest fastest and cheapest fix since I am a college student. Also are any of these options possible?
    1) Install OS X as a clean system and use my external HD to load my system.
    2) Buy another external HD and boot up from that?
    3) Buy another internal HD and have someone install it (not sure how much this would cost though)
If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it.

All 3 of those are possible however #1 and 2 are not favorable. I would suggest to first run a few tests to make sure that your hard drive is actually bad.
    1) The first test like Larry suggested is to boot up to your Mac OS install disk, but do not go through the installation process. Instead go to the Utilities Menu at the top and open Disk Utility. If your drive does not show up in the left hand column then the drive is likely bad.
    2) Insert the original iMac install disk like in step 1 but this time when you startup hold down the "d" key. This will load up the Apple Hardware Test. Run the Extended test. If it passes everything then this means your computer is ok just the hard drive is bad.
    3) However if in step 1 Disk Utility does see the hard drive first try Repairing the Disk. If this fails you might try reformatting the drive and reinstalling Mac OS X as the problem could be an issue with the system software.
    4) Which should actually be step 1 is to disconnect all of your external devices like hard drives and see if you still cannot boot. Keep everything disconnected during testing.
The problem is hard drive failures can be intermittent. One minute it works the next minute it doesn't even see a hard drive. Good luck though and let us know how it goes.

  • Can't finish the 10.5.3 Update successfully! Need Help!

    Hi there,
Unfortunately I'm having problems completing the Update of my MacBook. Actually it finished the download and when it starts to install the 10.5.3 version, a message appears telling me that I'll need to restart. OK, no problem, it restarts and then the installation starts, but it stops on "Configuring installation". I've waited a lot, but it is still in that position.
    Can you guys help me?
    Thanks in advance!

It sounds to me as if you got an incomplete file downloaded. Replace the router with a known good router, or find out if the router needs its firmware updated or a different setting. One person on another thread just mentioned changing their MTU to 1492 from 1500 on their router settings fixed issues with their router, and it was a Netgear. Not sure if that will help you or not, but it is worth a try the next time you download it. But don't install unless you are certain you have the complete file. As it stands, I would suspect your system is in shambles. Unfortunately with a suspect download to begin with, it is a bit like applying an oil filter to a car without new oil!
Unfortunately at this stage you may only be able to fix it by repairing permissions, the directory, or erase and installing and running the combo update over again. To repair the directory*:

The combo update can be found here:

  • Update *always* fails. Deleting files, run as admin don't work

I can *never* get the update to work. I always get the message: "The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox running on your computer, and then restart Firefox to try again." I have the same issue with Thunderbird. I'm running on Win 7 64 bit. My normal login account has admin privileges.
I have tried all the work arounds listed (eg deleting update folder, etc). Nothing works and I always have to download and do a full install.
    It's very, very frustrating.

It is a problem with the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\), so no need to check the profile folder.
If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and delete the Firefox program folder to remove any leftover files.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 10.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data because all profile folders will be removed.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

  • IOS updates always fail on one Mac, but succeed on another

    Hi,
unfortunately there is no general iOS subforum, so I post it here in the iPad forum in hope that someone has an idea.
Whenever I am trying to update one of my iDevices from my Mac Pro (10.6.4 and iTunes 9 or 10, both have the same problem) the update runs half way through and then gets stuck on the apple logo, progress bar at about half way through.
This is reproducable with any iDevice (tried iPhone 4, iPhone 3G and iPad).
If I plug the same devices into my Macbook Pro, the update (or then: restore) works without any glitches.
So it must be something with my Mac Pro, but I have no idea what might cause this.
Has anyone else experienced something like this before?
    Thanks
    Sascha

    HI,

Boot from install disc, run Disk Utility in case the startup disk needs repairing and check for free disk space.
Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
(In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first from the installer menu)
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. Make sure there is always 15% free space.

i have a regular iphone 4 and need to update it , im having trouble  can someone help me

No, it won't ruin the battery. You can stop/start charging iPhone batteries whenever you want, although it is better to give it a full charge the very first time so that the charging cycle starts fully.
