CC4.0 - Management report and email alerts

Greetings-
1. In Abap based CC4.0, Managemnet Report tab is not showing any result.
2. Email alerts are not reaching out to monitors email id.
CC cockpit's config for enabling these looks ok. Pls suggest wat are the steps(and how to) required outside cc cockpit in this regard.
Would appreciate your quick response.

Did you check with your basis guy on SMTP server configuration in ABAP client (tcode SCOT)?

Hi Christy:
There are different approaches to configure alerts, if you are using Solution Manager; I think you can benefit if you choose SolMan and the Central System (CEN) to handle all the monitoring and email alerting.
If this is the case, you will need to install the CCMS Agents on every satellite system in order to trigger remote alerts.
Let me know what is your idea and I can follow with you with the required steps.

For each mail account, along with designating a primary SMTP server, you should be able to just turn off any and all other SMTP servers you have listed. In that case, if there is a problem with comcast, the message send should just fail.
Also make sure your comcast smtp settings are correct (port, likely 587 but might be something else for comcast, whether you should be suing SSL or not, do you need authentication or not).
You might find the comcast forums useful for getting the settings right - I found this:

OK. Called my service provider today. Apparently razmee209 was right. Bell/Virgin network is experiencing LTE problems since September and it affects random people all LTE phones. They said they are working on it. And the solution for now is to turn LTE off and keep the phone on 3G network.
Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Why have my purchased text and email alerts vanished?

Thanks for the reply. It was after the upgrade. I brought the same alerts again afterwards (it knew I had already purchased them and asked me if I wanted to buy them again). I did but within a day, they had vanished again! Be careful not to buy them again until Apple sort this costly issue out!! They now owe me money!!!!

WRVS4400N - Logging and Email Alerts when I use a VPN client - Firmware bug?

I've got a problem with my WRVS4400N that has been dogging me for a long time now, and I'm finally fed up with the email alerts.
My wife has a VPN client for her work, on her laptop. It is nothing fancy, normal IPSec VPN, details on it I can get if needed, but it's just VPN.
My WRVS4400N is running 1.1.03 firmware, latest on the site. I have all VPN pass-throughs enabled. VPN connectivity for the wife works great, no problems that I'm aware of for her functionally.
The problem is, that I have logging turned on with email alerts. When my wife uses her VPN connection, I get flooded with alerts from the router with all sorts of goobly goo information. It's almost like there is a bug in the router firmware that is parsing information incorrectly.
Log levels are set to 0,1,2,3. Email alerts enabled. DoS threshold is 50, Log Queue is 100, Log Time is 60. SMTP information for my mail server populated of course, and Local Log enabled.
Below is a sample of the email body that gets sent. My wife has been using her VPN connection for about 3 hours tonight, and already I've been flooded with over 1000 emails.

Does anyone have any ideas? This seems like a code bug to me, but how do I go about reporting to Linksys?
Of course, I can turn off email alerts, but then that defeats the purpose of the router being able to tell me when something is awry.

File Manager Reported and Error

I am trying to save a file and I keep getting a message :While attempting to access "-TemporarySaveFile-" the File Manager reported an error.
How can I save the file...or do I have to restart the computer and lose everything?

What program? I don't think I've ever seen the term "File Manager" used wrt Mac OS except in comparing Finder to other OS or third-party file managers.

Work Group Manager Reports and Logs

Mac Manager maintains logs and display current activity information somewhat different that Work Group Manager. With Mac Manager we are able to quickly report for Activity Log, Disk Usage, Connected Machines, Printer Quotas, Workgroup by User, Computers, Checked Out Computers and user activity.
How can we duplicate such a report with Work Group Manager?
We are a school district that is 88% Macintosh and miss the reports and logs feature in Mac Manager (10.3.9).
Hope to hear and find a solution to this challenge.

SmartView Reporting and Anaysis alert

We are trying to write VBA code to refresh a spreadsheet that is a downloaded document using a Reporting and Analysis smartview connection. Everything works fine, but we need to get rid of the "alert" that pops up after the refresh of the document completes. At the end of the refresh it pops up a msgbox that has the number of pages updated. We've tried to set displayalerts = false, but the msgbox still pops up and it stalls because it has to have user input. Has anyone encountered this and/or has a fix to get rid of it?

Both IDM and "show events alert" have very basic querying capabilities. The only thing you can do is to mark some signature with "traits" code and show alerts fired by this signature with:
sensor# sh events alert include-traits ?
<0-15> Traits to include in the show events output.
Try IDS Event Viewer. IEV is a free tool that can be downloaded from the Cisco website. But is very limited too. The primary Cisco product for viewing/reporting is the Cisco MARS. But it is expensive...

Query for report generation and email alert

Hi,
I do have a requirement in my project like the following.
1. We do have multiple interfaces sending request to one of the target Webservices
2. Receiving response back from Webservices
3. Also logging the same using log4J
My requirement is to filter out response messages based on particular interface(Lets say Order status) using name/ timestamp for particular day, save/append all responses in to a file and should send an email report at a given point of time.
Report has to generate once in a day E.g Time: 00:00 AM every day.
Is that possible to achieve the same through ALSB(Aqua Logic Service Bus). Please help us in implementing this requirement.

You probably concentrate too much on OSB. I see two issues:
1. Appending everything into a single file. I have never tried file transport, so I don't know if this is possible or not, but looking at documentation I don't think its possible:

2. As far as I know there is no support for scheduling in OSB.
I don't know your situation and requirements, but you should rather implement your reporting logic outside of OSB. For example you can filter response messages in OSB and "log" them through a logging web service (service callout in alsb). That service could accumulate your report in a file and send it with the first request each day. This approach could eliminate usage of any scheduling component.
Personally, if I were you I would thing about my infrastructure logging capabilities on proxy server, http server or whatever is in use. Combined with unix cron daemon, the solution could be very easy and straight-forward.

I have a spreadsheet file in apple's numbers that I use as a grade sheet. I can generate an individual student's report and email a pdf version of this report to the student. Is there anyway to automate this process to the entire spreadsheet?

Similar answer, as well. My first thought on reading the question was 'mail merge', as it was with Ed's question.
But since you're already generating the individual reports using Numbers, 'printing' those to a PDF file and attaching the file to an email message would seem a better route to go.
That should be doable using either Automator or AppleScript, but my expertise with either of those is about the same level as is was when I responded to Ed's question. I'll wish you luck, and leave this to the Automator or AppleScript experts.

PS: I'd suggest you prepare a copy of the document with the names (and perhaps the marks/grades) replaced with anonymous ones. I suspect a look at the actual file will be necessary to get a handle on its structure.

Script to Find latest Modify date, and email alert if last modify is older than 4hrs or so

So, I want to monitor a directory, and get an alert if any file in the directory was not modified in the last, 4 hours or so.
I think I'm on the right track, but I'm missing some pieces here. Any suggestions?

CCMS Configuration - Central Monitoring and Email Alerts with Solution Mgr

I am trying to configure my CCMS alerts on my satellite systems to be linked into the Solution manager system (acting as the CEN monitoring node). If I have already setup my RZ20 alerts, is there a way I can just link these into Solution Manager.

Try setting up the monitoring RFC connections in SMSY. Once those are setup, you can pull the CCMS data in and view within tran SOLUTION+MANAGER.

Scheduling of Discoverer Reports and emailing output to multiple recipients

Is is possible using Oracle Discoverer Server (Plus and Viewer) version 10.1.2 to schedule workbooks and then have the output of the scheduled workbooks emailed to multiple email recipients at the time the scheduled report completes?

Within the discoverer tool there is no functional sulotion to email scheduled reports.
This issue came up several times in the past to this forum,
the solution is to use a third party tool that once the scheuled run is completed the third party tool will collect the output file and mail it.

Delimited Report and Email

I've a delimited report, which outputs into an ascii text file. When i open output file
in notepad it looks ok. But when i open it in excel it gives a blank row between two
data rows. Seems like it's appending a carriage return after each row. How can i get
away with this.

Hi,
One method I can suggest is to :
1. Spool the result to a file
2. Use the Unix shell to read the file [ The file will contain only 1 row, which is the result of your SQL ]
3. based on the value returned from SQL in the output spool file, you can decide on the next processing steps.
Here's a short example of SQL script and the Unix Shell :
