Cck not supporting canon powershot a580 camera?

Hi,  i purchased the camera connection kit but for some reason i cannot seem to connect my canon powershot a580 camera using usb.
Same goes for my samsung camera.
using the memory card cck device i also cannot transfer photo's to my ipad.
This goes for all my 7 memorycards, ranging from 2gb upto 16gb.
What is going on here?
Also tried it on my wife's ipad 1 on ios 3.2.2 and then i can ocnnect everying!
Why can't i use any of the devices and memory cards on my ipad 2?
This doesn't make any sense!
I have the 64gb mostly for transfering pictures and showing them on my tv and now i am stuck with to my old ipad1 with only 16gb?
Apple please fix this as this is ridiculous!!!

I have a A60, I use gphoto2 and digikam and works perfect, I only had to edit fstab to allow normal users use the usb, I followed more a less this howto: http://www.phil.uni-sb.de/~nkuttler/os/powershot/

You would need Camera Raw 7.3 or later to open those files. Adobe is not going to update CS4. You can either get a newer version of Photoshop that comes with a current version of Camera Raw, or you can use the DNG converter to save your files down to the ACR version that works with CS4.

  • I have lightroom 4.4 and it does not support Canon EOS 70D what to do?

I have lightroom 4.4 and it does not support Canon EOS 70D raw files. What do I do?

    Several choices
Download the free Adobe DNG Converter version 8.5 and convert your RAWs to DNG and import those into Lightroom
Use the software that came with the camera to convert the RAWs into TIF and import those into Lightroom
Purchase the upgrade to Lightroom 5

  • Adobe Camera Raw 5.3 does not support Canon EOS 500D

    Hi,
I just bought a new Canon EOS 500D and it seems that Adobe Raw 5.3 (i.e. LR2 and CS4) do not support the new (or better changed) Canon RAW format (CR2).
Does anyone know when this camera model / RAW format will be supported?
    Any ideas for workarounds?
    Best regards,
    paulmut

If the camera allows it, shoot raw+JPEG, that way, you can still use/work with the JPEG version, until the CR2 of the 500D will be supported.
You can also contact Canon and suggest them to take a competitive edge over Nikon by embracing the DNG format, that would have allowed support at release date, in many raw converters programs, like Pentax and others are doing.

  • CS5 camera raw does not support Canon T2i/550D

What a disappointment to have downloaded and installed the trial version of PS CS5 only to find the ACR does not yet support the Canon T2i. Adobe, what are you waiting for?

Disappointment? I suppose if you have unreasonable (and ill informed) expectations...
The same thing happened with CS4...Camera Raw 6 for CS5 was done MONTHS ago–well before the most recent round of cameras were added to ACR 5.7 (the most recent version released a week or so ago). The exact same thing happened with CS4 and ACR 5 vs ACR 4.6 supporting more cameras until ACR 5.1 came out.
The update for ACR 6 (prolly 6.1) has already been discussed by John Nack...it'll be out in weeks vs months. In the mean time if you want to access cameras not supported bt ACR 6.0, download DNG Converter (it's free) and convert files to DNG that ACR 6.0 will open...

  • RAW Support Canon Powershot G1X Mark II

    Dear all,
I have LR Version 4.3 and I am thinking about an upgrade to the current version (LR 5.4) in order to process RAW Files from my new Canon Powershot G1X Mark II. BUT...
...the release notes say: "preliminary support" for this camera only.
    What does that exactly mean?
Will there be an upDATE (free of charge) which provides full support?
Or will I have to upGRADE to LR 6 for full support?
Thanks a lot for your answers.
    olitsche

The timing of, even the existence of releases whether free dot releases like 5.5 or major paid releases like 6.0 are not normally published and anyone who knows likely can't say.
Preliminary support usually means, it will work but there may be a small hitch or two along the way that was unrealized in testing. You can always download and install the trial of 5.4 and test it yourself for 30 days.
Of course if you get a Creative Cloud membership, you are covered no matter what.

  • LR 2.3 does not support Canon 500D/T1i .CR2 - Fix? Hint?

I have a Canon 500D, upgrading from a 450D.  It seems that .CR2 file from this camera are not supported.
Do you have tips, tricks or anything else to help?
    Thanks

From a fundamental point of view, raw converter software should support a camera as soon it is released - or at least very close to. Unfortunately, photographic industry is not quite able and probably willing to reach this goal. Still, it is one of the most important requirements of the users and the imaging industry needs to get its act together to reach this ideal, much closer than it is now. That requires certainly a better culture of communication between software vendors and the equipment industry or a higher degree of standardisation.
However, Adobe is with upcoming ACR 2.4 and Lightroom 2.4 one of the quickest vendors to support the 2009 camera models already released, possibly, they are even the quickest. So they do a pretty good job on providing camera support timely. Other vendors need several quarters for adding support or even refuse to support popular models at all (such as CaptureOne with the Lumix G1, at least this is what I heard lately).
    Kind regards
    Thomas

  • RAW-support, Canon PowerShot G1 X

Has anyone heard anything about this RAW-support for Canon PowerShot G1 X?
I can see the miniatures when importing but once imported I only get a black image and the text "Unsupported Image Format".

RAWS are not yet supported, but it should be int he next update:
    http://www.apple.com/aperture/specs/raw.html
That miniature that you see is just the embedded JPEG preview. For now you can shoot RAW + JPEG and when it is supported reprocess your Raws.

  • "This device not supported" msg when connecting camera

I just tried plugging in my (four year old) Canon Digital Elph via the USB connector (30 pin male to USB female) and got the "device not supported" msg on my iPad2
    Are only recent cameras supported?

The camera connector I'm using is one I bought some years back to connect a camera to an iPod Photo. It looks to be the same as the current one, however.
Could this be a connector issue rather than a camera issue?
Yes, it's a connector issue. The connector you have doesn't work with the iPad, as you've discovered. It doesn't work with any iOS device. You need the iPad Camera Connector Kit. It has two different dongles, one to connect a USB cable, the other, an SD card.

  • IPod Touch 5G and CCK "not supported"?

I have an iPod Touch 5G and just bought the lightning to 30 pin connection cable. I want to use it with the CCK to import photos and videos taken with my camera. Just plugged the connection cable into the iPod and added the SD card connector from the CCK and get the message "This Accessory is Not Supported by iPod Touch." True? If so, might as well return the cable.

The CCK is for iPad only.

  • MacBook Air not recognizing Canon PowerShot

I just got home from vacation excited to import photos to my MacBook Air (either using Picasa or iPhoto) from my Canon PowerShot SD3500IS.
For the first time, my MacBook doesn't recognize the camera. I tried connecting to my old camera too and nothing. I tried Googling for the issue and nothing made sense.
    An help?

    Thanks for the suggestion.
Turns out the memory card had too many pictures on it. I cleared some out and everything worked. Sigh.
