    Hello,
    I am trying to configure CCMS monitoring in Solution Manager. However I am unable to find any documents to guide me through the process. kindly help.
    Thanks.

    Hi
    Please use the standard Monitoring Setup Guide, for CCMS Configuration of Solution Manager.
    Just keep in mind, that Solution Manager will be then your CEN (central monitoring) system. And other satellite system will be Monitored system.
    Refer to guide available @
    https://service.sap.com/operationsnw70 > Monitoring > Monitoring Setup Guide SP15.
    I hope this will help. Please revert for further details.

    Hi,
    Are you trying to setup monitoring for your Solution Manager system on it's own, or setting up monitoring on Solution Manager which will act as the CCMS CEN?
    This link from SAP Help has the step by step instructions on how to assign the OS command to an autoreaction method and then assigning that on to an MTE class and MTE.
    [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/27/cbdf3b8dc95136e10000000a114084/frameset.htm]
    If you're setting up the CEN, it's slightly different. Create a new auto-reaction method.
    1.     Transaction: rz21
    2.     Goto: technical infrastructure - configure central system - assign central autoreactions
    3.     In 'defined central autoreactions' window: Select u2018newu2019
    4.     In the copy box, search for "CCMS_AUTO_REACT_OP_COMMAND"
    5.     Create a copy of this method. Complete the information:
    6.     Name: Z_UNIX_SCRIPT
    7.     In the parameter tab, enter the logical name for the command u2018Z_UNIX_SCRIPT_TO_DO_XYZ'.
    8.     Setup the Executable tab as below. This will be the detault.
    9.     Setup the control tab as below. This will ensure the alert is processed automatically.
    Execute method : Periodically in dialog process
    Startup Method: Execute method immediately - on all application servers
    Save
    You then need to assign the autoreaction
    From the Manage Central Autoreactions screen. Select the system to monitor, the MTE class to monitor and the central autoreaction method, then press u2018Assign Central Autoreactionu2019 button. This will make the necessary CCMS updates to start monitoring.

  • CCMS Alert Monitor (edit monitor-configuration.xml. ?)

    Hi Friends
    I'm trying to change the default polling time for the CCMS Alert Monitor, 5 minutes instead of 30 minutes.
    In http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/e5/5d1741b393f26fe10000000a1550b0/content.htm you can read:
    Accuracy
    The default polling period for the monitor is 30 minutes. If you want to have shorter polling periods, you can change them in the SAP NetWeaver Administrator as follows:
    1. Choose Availability and Performance Management ® Resource Monitoring ® Java System Reports (alias: /nwa/java-sys-reports).
    2. Select an arbitrary Number of errors entry in the monitoring tree of the Adapter Engine (leaf node).
    3. Choose Configuration in the right-hand pane.
    4. Choose Edit in the dialog box that appears.
    5. Change the polling period to 5 minutes, for instance.
    6. Choose Save and wait until saving is finished (be patient, since this may take a while).
    7. Choose Configuration Management ® Infrastructure Management ® Java Configuration Browser.
    8. Choose apps ® sap.com ® com.sap.aii.af.app ® Monitoring Configurator ® monitor-configuration.xml.
    9. In the xml file, change the polled-by-template period to the same value as above, for example, 5 minutes.
    10. Save the modified xml file.
    11. Choose Operations Management ® Infrastructure Management ® Start & Stop ® Java EE Services to restart the Monitoring service to apply the changes.
    But in step 9, the xml file I've found in my PI 7.1 (SP6) is this:
    <monitor-configuration>
    <monitor-semantics />
    <monitor-tree />
    </monitor-configuration>
    Also, there is no way to modify that file, you can only display it or download it.
    can anyone tell me how to edit the file.
    regards
    raja

    Hi Raja,
    This is the same as doing the following:
    You can locate the monitor-configuration.xml file in the SDA com.sap.aii.af.app.sda (inside META-INF folder). You can find this SDA in the install directory of PI installation. In this XML file please locate and edit the following tag:
    <template-info template-name="SAP_XIJ2EE_RCRDS">
                            <polled-by-template period="30" unit="MINUTE">
                                <generating-resource
                                    name="com.sap.aii.utilxi.rtcheck.mx.standard.XIJ2EEComponentMBean" type="APPLICATION"/>
                                <template-attribute-mapping>
                                    <invoked-resource-method name="getMonitoringRecords"/>
                                </template-attribute-mapping>
                            </polled-by-template>
                        </template-info>
    Change the above to the following *************
    <template-info template-name="SAP_XIJ2EE_RCRDS">
                            <polled-by-template period="5" unit="MINUTE">
                                <generating-resource
                                    name="com.sap.aii.utilxi.rtcheck.mx.standard.XIJ2EEComponentMBean" type="APPLICATION"/>
                                <template-attribute-mapping>
                                    <invoked-resource-method name="getMonitoringRecords"/>
                                </template-attribute-mapping>
                            </polled-by-template>
                        </template-info>
    The main change is the polled-by-template value from 30 mins to 5 mins as per your req ******
    Construct back the SDA (you can search SDN for that) with this edited XML and then redeploy this SDA with the help of JSPM tool.
    This will re-start the PI Server for the changes to come into effect.
    I hope this helps.
    PS: You can consult your BASIS consultant to locate this sda and re-deploy it on PI Server.
    Regards, Gaurav.

  • Cannot see CCMS Monitor Templates - System is not configured

    I just finished installing SAP Netweaver Trial, and I have been able to login using the SAP* and DDIC accounts.
    I can see the standard tree via the SAP client GUI.
    I am trying to take a look at the CCMS Monitor Sets, and I can see the standard collection of "Entire System", "Performance Overview", etc. all fine.
    However, when I double-click to load any of the monitors, I see nothing inside.
    No sub-trees, nothing.
    I enabled "Display error nodes" and see a node that says
    "NSP   : System is not configured"
    I have tried creating my own user, adding in profiles like SAP_ALL, S_A.System, etc.
    I also notice everytime I access the CCMS Monitor Templates, there is an entry in the Syslog:
    Severity: Warning
    Process Type: D0
    Transaction Code: RZ20
    Client: 001
    User: DDIC
    Message ID: BYE
    Description:
    Database: Invalid parameter ObjTooLar transferred to database interface
    Please let me know if I am missing any components, or if there is something I need to do.
    Thank you.

    Thanks Sunny.
    That thread did indeed helped me to resolve the issue.
    However, the thread did not really provide clear instructions to complete newbies like me.
    For those who also have the same issue, this is what I did:
    1. Execute RZ10 (Edit Profiles) via the SAP client GUI
    2. Click on the menu Utilities - Import profiles - Of active servers
    3. Edit the "Instance Profile" NSP_DVEBMGS00_{Your Computer Name}
    Select Extended Maintenance, and select Change
    4. Change the following two parameters:
    alert/MONI_SEGM_SIZE from 0 to 60000000
    rdisp/autoabaptime from 0 to 300
    5. In the SAP MMC, right-click on NSP and select Restart
    6. After restarting, login and you should be able to see the CCMS Monitor Template nodes

  • How to start to configure CCMS monitor sets ?

    hi,
    when executing RZ20, the screen title is
    CCMS Monitor Sets - Maintenance functions OFF
    does it mean that the monitoring is not configured yet ?
    if i were to start the monitoring, how do i turn it on ? what needs to be monitored ?
    please share with me how you make sure of the CCMS monitor sets.
    comment and advice will be highly appreciated.
    regards,

    RZ20 --> Extras --> Activate Maintainence functions
    does it mean that the monitoring is not configured yet ?
    Im not sure what this means. To copy the templates, I think you have to activate the maintainence function (not sure). I always do this as the 1st step.
    if i were to start the monitoring, how do i turn it on ?
    There are many things you will need to do
    1. Configure SCOT to send out emails
    2. Configure an auto reaction method (CCMS_ONALERT_EMAIL_V2)
    3. Assign it to the nodes you need to monitor
    4. Assign the auto reaction method to those nodes
    etc etc
    what needs to be monitored ?
    Usually it is the database and the filesystem space, performance etc. It really depends on what you want.
    please share with me how you make sure of the CCMS monitor sets.
    Look at this link

    2. Incase im able to set the autoreaction method , I want to send additional information like communication channel name etc in the alert message. How can I change the text in the alert email?

  • Missing "SAP XI Adapter engine" in CCMS Monitor

    Dear all,
    we try to configure PI CCMS monitor but we can't find the subtree "SAP XI Adapter engine " in Visual admin.
    In detail:
    the subtree "SAP XI Adapter engine "is not displayed in Visual administrato under
    server->service->monitoring->Monitor tree ->Root application .
    So we have set to true the value "CCMSEnabled" of seervice "SAP XI AF core" , and we have restarted the instance.
    After the restart i DO NOT find the "SAP XI Adapter engine " in
    SAP NetWeaver Administrator,
    'System  Management' -> 'Monitoring' -> 'Java System Reports' -> 'Reports'. From the dropdown list 'Report' choose 'Monitor Browser', and display all monitors
    So I can't activate the monitor.
    and if the subtree is not present , i can't see the MTE in "SAP XI Adapter engine " RZ20.
    Additional info:
    - In RZ20 I have my system under SAP J2ee Monitor template->All system
    but the MTE "J2EE Applications" is grayed.
    - In file application.xml under /usr/sap/ccms/XIT_10/j2ee<server0> i do not find the tag:
    <app name="application sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.app">
        <node>\XIT\XIT 10 Appl .... sp30t0\SAP XI Adapter Engine</node>
      </app>
    I think this is the correct procedure that we have done in other different landscape whithout problems.
    Is there something else to check ?
    I've alredy checked following Blogs
    /people/sap.user72/blog/2005/11/24/xi-configuring-ccms-monitoring-for-xi-part-i
    /people/sap.user72/blog/2005/12/05/xi-grmg-customizing-for-xi-ccms-heartbeat-monitoring-part-ii
    Thanks in advance
    Steven

    Hi Sekhar,
    I am using PI 7.0 instead so I have followed the instruction in (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/e5/5d1741b393f26fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm) instead.
    The problem is, Adapter Engine is still not listed as one of the application avaialble for Monitoring in Visual Admin even though the SAP XI AF Core has definitely been set with CCMSEnabled = true.
    Any further suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Wi

  • CCMS monitoring

    Hello,
    We want to configure CCMS monitoring for one our systems.
    But we don't want to configure CEN using Solution manager.
    After searching, I found that every source describes the process for configuring CCMS using CEN.
    I know that we can configure CCMS on individual systems also. But I am unable to find the right set of steps for it.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    To configure CCMS on the single system (not as CEN) Please follow the steps below.
    1. Got to RZ20
    2. Select "SAP CCMS Monitor Templates"
    3. Drill down the MTE which you need to monitor and select that.
    like to monitor table space:
         SAP CCMS Monitor Templates->Database->Oracle->Space Management-> table space name->used space
    4. click on properties
    5. assign the autoreaction method which you already copied from  CCMS_OnAlert_Email
    you would need to provide the info in autoreaction method before assigning it to any MTE like email distribution list, sender user id and releasing this method as autoreaction.
    Email distribution list should be created in SBWP in client 000, send user id should also be created in client 000 and email should be configured in client 000 under SCOT transaction for auto reaction method working properly.
    Thanks,
    Best Regards,

  • Ccms monitoring single definition under and MTE class

    Hi Guys
    For CCMS monitoring under RZ20 i am looking for a way to define a node that allow me to monitor a specific definition for those mte that dinamically create those definitions from the source system, for instance
    if you select MTE class: filesystem you get the list of all the filesystems, like
    /db2/SM1/sapdata1
    /db2/SM1/sapdata2
    /var
    So lets says I just want to monitor  /db2/SM1/sapdata1 and not to display the rest of the filesystems on RZ20
    is there a way to configure this? maybe using some kind of filter for the name.
    I want to configure this for the j2ee connector service but i get a buch of  connector Applications RZ20 and I just want to monitor one of those Applications
    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks for this good document but I think it is not enough for me. I had registered the sapccmsr agent with J2EE option but it is not monitor the database correctly on the same physical server. In the Monitoring node of server process in Visual Admin i can't find a relevant object to activate database free space monitoring. In posted document I can't find the detailed information, too. Please provide me with a detailed specific information. Many thanks.
    Which service is relevant to collect database relevant data to monitor non ABAP databases like single J2EE instances oder non-SAP Databases.

  • CCMS monitoring for Queues(SMQ1/SMQ2)

    Hi,
    How do we monitor Queues(SMQ1/SMQ2) in CCMS. My requirement is to monitor Queues(SMQ1/SMQ2) in CCMS based on the Queue name. I want to create different nodes in CCMS and I want queue name falling under certain criteria should come and sit in the respective node of CCMS.
    Means queue with name High_priority should come n sit under node say Test1, queue name with medium_priority should come n sit under node say Test2 and queue name with medium_priority should come n sit under node say Test3.
    Is it possible to do so.

    Hello,
    also for queue monitoring the easier and more flexible way to monitor is via Business Process Monitoring. The configuration is easier than CCMS where you have to use transaction RZ21 and need to transport objects. And the qRFC monitoring is more flexible than in the CCMS. Basically all customers knowing both standard CCMS qRFC monitoring and qRFC monitoring in BPMon chose the later or exchange their existing CCMS monitoring by BPMon.
    See also the SDN blog /people/johannes.fleig/blog/2008/06/11/new-business-process-monitoring-functionalities-in-sap-solution-manager-150-qrfc-monitoring
    and check out the Interface Monitoring Setup Guide under http://service.sap.com/bpm > Media Library > Technical Information.

  • CCMS Monitoring for specific tcodes

    Hello All,
    Hope someone can help me out. I have a list of tcodes for a daily check which are:
    SM21
    ST22
    SM37
    SM50
    DB02
    I have configured CCMS correctly and its working to send out alerts via email but only for ST22. I can't seem to find the right MTE class to use for any of the rest listed above. Does anyone know which class I should be using or point me in the direction of how to include these?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    Stephanie

    Hi Faisal,
    Here's an approach to answering the question "does CCMS monitor X".  It's not perfect but it will help you find a starting point:
    - think of what you want to monitor, not in terms of transaction codes ("how do I monitor transaction SM13") but in terms of the functionality you want to monitor ("how do I detect failed updates?")
    - in RZ20, open  SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors -->  All Monitoring Contexts.
    - Expand the whole tree with the "Expand all" button.  This will show you the entire tree of everything that is currently monitored in your system
    - do a text search of the tree for useful keywords (for example "Update").  In this case you will find several possibilities including AbapErrorInUpdate, which I think is the one that you want
    - highlight the node and press Properties to get the MTE class, in this case R3AbapErrorInUpdate
    There is no exhaustive list anywhere that I can find, that lists every possible thing that CCMS monitors.  But the approach above will catch most scenarios.  You will come up short in a few scenarios where optional monitoring components are not enabled by default (for example, SAPConnect monitors).
    Also be forewarned that often CCMS will not monitor exactly what you want, and you'll have to find ways to monitor around the edges of your true intention.  For example, there is no monitor for determining if a background job ran between midnight and 02:00, but you can monitor delay and runtime which can come close to what you want.  Part of the art of CCMS monitoring is finding the right combination of monitors that come closest to achieving your objective.
    Good luck and happy monitoring,
    Jon
