Is it possible to configure CCMS (RZ20) for any spool failure count going beyond a certain threshold value
Is yes, then which node do I configure in RZ20

Ok I have found the solution.
What you need to do is start the active data suppliers using autoabap:
transaction SE38 => SAPMSSY8 => Execute

Communication channel monitoring (adapter engine) in ccms (rz20) available?

Hi,
we have problems in our xi system (PI 7.0, SPS10). The adapter engine can only be monitored in the communication channel monitoring, available in the runtime workbench!
There sometimes errors disappear. At the moment these errors accumulate!
Is it possible to view these errors/ alerts in the ccms (rz20) monitoring?
So we don't look all the time in the communication channel monitoring!
Have anybody an idea?

CCMS/RZ20 - Number of free Dialog Workprocesses

Hi experts,
are there metrics available in CCMS/RZ20, which display the available Dialog Workprocess?
I know there is a metric which shows the utilisation in % but I want the number.

as I see in a system with basis and kernel release 7.40 there are MTEs about number of ended WPs and total number of WPs under
RZ20 --> SAP CCMS Monitor Templates
              --> Entire System
                     --> <SID> --> R/3 Services
                          --> Dialog --> <instance>
There is no such MTE about number of free WPs.

Solman 7.1 - Monitoring CCMS RZ20 Central Autoreaction Method

Hello,
I'm trying to configure Solution Manager 7.1 for using CCMS.
With new solution manager the connection of systems through SMSY is no longer possible. Aside from that I didn't found a possiblity to assign RFC Destinations for System Monitoring.
I found out that I can connect systems through RZ21 - Menu configure central system - create remote monitoring entry.
Systems appear in RZ20 and I can use them in monitor sets.
In old solution manager I used central autoreaction methods. Only Solman sends alert messages. Mailconfiguration on each systems wasn't necessary.
If I now try to assign central reaction method through RZ21 - configure central system - assign central autoreaction method systems asks me for CCMS Agents. Elsewhere I read CCMS Agents are no longer needed with Solman 7.1.
So, how can I use central reaction methods in Solution Manager 7.1 without CCMS Agents?

Database statistics for Java system in CCMS (RZ20)

Hi All,
We have configured CCMS for JAVA system, but unable to view the Database statistics like Tablespace size, Free space, Backup, Performance etc., for it.
We are able to see these statistics for ABAP stack.
Is there any possible method (or) class to view these statistics?
We have even created a new rule-based monitor with class CCMS_DB_mcmtc and CCMS_DB_space_mscl but in vain.
Even if we cannot view these in RZ20, do we have any other methods like Netweaver administrator or Introscope or some other means....?

I don't think there is any separation between CCMS and other systems, all use one database. If you use MaxDB use Database Manager, if smth like SQL Server or Oracle use standard tools of this vendors, like Enterprise Manager third party tools also helps you, cause I don't see any difference between

CCMS / RZ20 - BPE Monitoring node

I just want to know why I have allways following alerts in CCMS concerning BPE :
Deadline     Status of deadline monitoring
Process execution     Incomplete recovery after system crash
Process scheduling     Status of automatic error handling
Process scheduling     Status of event queue monitoring
Process scheduling     Status of container definition buffer
Overall status     Status of the automatic customizing
Process scheduling     Status of automatic clean up
Can this be solved or alerts avoided ?

Unable to Data Collection Methods in CCMS/RZ20

Hi gurus,
There are lot of Montoring Objects for which there are no data collection methods already assigned which I am trying to do.
I am able to do method assignments only to data analysis and auto reaction methods but not " data collection " which remains in display only mode even after using the edit option,
Kindly let me know how to proceed.

Hi,
in the past there was the option to change the data supplier. After several customers accidentally entered analysis or auto-reaction methods, the changed that to read-only, because its completely preconfigured - no need to change. And: you cannot know the name of a data supplier to be entered.
NO METHOD does not mean: There is no data supplier. There are a lot of MTEs being refreshed with data, although there is NO METHOD being entered. These MTEs are refreshed by so called active data suppliers - they run independently from the CCMS Moni Infra.
Example: Syslog. Data collection method: NO METHOD. Real data supplier: The SAP kernel, which reports into syslog (when there is something to be reported) and into CCMS in parallel. All changes to that MTE would cause a problem in data supplying.
So please feel free to open a n SAP call, whenever an MTE in CCMS is white (no data), and you are interested in that information. Sometimes we disable data supplying by default - then we can tell you how to enable it.

RZ20 CCMS backup MTE

Hi,
we have a problem with CCMS (RZ20).We have three system with the same problem with different release version. We recently change the backup procedure (from anf to anv) and we applied the OSS note 1522821 to fix the transaction DB12/DB14 with flashcopy backup.
In particular we have problem with the MTE:
RZ20 -> SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors -> All Monitoring Contexts -> Oracle -> Backup/restore -> Backup status -> Last succ. complete database backup.
Even if the transaction DB12 and DB14 says that the last backup is ended today morning, the MTE says "Backup status Last succ. complete database backup = 11 days".
What can we do to solve the problem?

Hi,
Before the change of backup method we have in DB14 -> brbackup -> column FID -> anf (Whole offline database backup using BACKINT at file level) and the MTE was in correct status.
After the change we see in DB14 -> brbackup -> column FID -> anv (Whole online database backup using BACKINT at volume level) and the MTE is in error status.

It is possible to achieve this using the MTE class SXMB - this will allow thr highlight of errors within the local IE.

Get the CCMS monitoring data to the Java

I want to get the monitoring data from the CCMS/RZ20 transaction to the Java environment. Please tell me what are the possibalities we can do.

Has it ever worked? If it has worked and stopped could be a memory issue that would be fixed with a restart/reset? Is it hanging on one particular item?

Cannot download CCMAGENT.SAR to install the SAPCCM4X ccms agent for ABAP

I realize that my CCMS (RZ20) was empty (of data) because there was no agent filling it.
Following the documentation from sap, I have to download and register the SAPCCM4X ccms agent for ABAP (I have a SAP Netweaver 7.0 (2004s) ABAP Trial Version) but it has been impossible. I don't understand what is the error with my Download Manager.
Can somebody send me these files?

Graham is right. You don't need an agent, the system should be provide monitoring data at once.
But in your case

the reason will most probably the deactivated monitoring infrastructure. AFAIK the parameter rdisp/autoabaptime is set to 0 in the Trial Version. Simply delete it from the instance profile so the default value 300 will be activated. Same for the parameter alert/MONI_SEGM_SIZE. If the parameter is set to 0, delete it. After restarting the system you should see values in rz20.

CCMS Agent Error!!

Hi Experts,
                   While stopping the CCMS Agent I am getting the following error :

I am not all able to stop the agent & start it again.Please guide.

It seems to me a shared memory problem. Check and carryout the work mentioend in below note. I was able to solve similar problem earlier with this note.

Windows: The service "sapccmsr" or "sapccm4x" does not start or immediately stops again.
UNIX: When you start the agents sapccmsr or sapccm4x, the system issues the message "Another agent is already running with this profile".

Reason and Prerequisites
CCMS agents manage monitoring data in a shared memory segment. You can identify this segment by an instance number for instance-specific CCMS agents, and by instance number 99 for instance-independent agents.
Only one CCMS agent may run for each instance, so the administration information of the CCMS contains information about whether an agent has been started already for an instance. The system refreshes this information when the agent is started, and deletes it when the agent is stopped.
If, due to an error, the agents could not be stopped and the administration data above could not be deleted in the shared memory, a newly started agent receives the information that another agent is running even though there is no longer a corresponding agent process. The system then issues the message described under "Symptom".
Solution
1. Check whether the agent involved is running. The process number of the agent process is noted in the agent log file "sapccmsr.log" or "sapccm4x.log" under "pid":

3. If the process is no longer running, you can initialize the administrative data for the shared memory as follows:
Agent for J2EE and TREX instances:
sapccmsr pf=<instance profile> -j2ee -initshm

sapccmsr -initshm
Agent for ABAP instances:
sapccm4x pf=<instance profile> -initshm
You can then restart the agent or agent service.
The error was eliminated with CCMS Patch Collection 2007/4.

CCMS "no value has yet been reported" problem

Hi,
Of five application servers in our productive ECC 6.0 system on Sun solaris 10 and Oracle 10.2.0.2, two of them show "No value has yet been reported" in the CCMS (RZ20) for several MTE's such as FrontendResponseTime and ResponseTime.
One application server runs on the same physical server as the application servers with no problems, and the other one is on different hardware.
In the monitoring attributes of the MTE's, the definition status is "enabled". And there are no significant entries in the CCMS selfmonitoring of these application servers.
I've tried rebooting the application servers (with cleanipc), restarting saposcol, resetting the segment in "WARMUP status.
Please advice ?

CCMs alerting if MAXDB Backup fails

Hi,
I want to see an red alert in CCMS (rz20, Method SDB_health_verify_rc_smcl_<SID>, ..Last Check Return Code) if the last return code of the backup is unequal 0. Does anyone have an idea how to custmize rz20 to do this ?
If I put the MTE default settings for monitoring the backup result, ( SDB_health_verify_rc_smcl_<SID>) I will get masses of errors during the backup is running, because than the return code is "9999 Running", which is unequal 0, but I'm only intressed in the result of the backup !
Any ideas ?

if you are SAP customer, please review the SAP note 908722.
Please check what SAP Basis Support Package do you have on your system?
SAP note 908722 will change the alert for a running database structure check or a running backup < "9999 Running" > from RED (which was incorrect) to YELLOW. Check data and backup are critical actions in the system while they are running e.g. CHECK DATA sets locks on the table. Therefore both actions when they are active will be marked as yellow. When they has been finished correctly the alert will be green.
The SAP Alert Monitoring that we use to Monitor MaxDB operation does not offer a filter for specific return codes. Its is, however, possible to not raise an e-mail for YELLOW alerts while still raising an e-mail for RED alerts. If you would like to do this => add the parameter REACT_ON_ALERTS with the value RED to your auto-reaction methods.
This is documented in SAP note 671780.
