CCNP ROUTE or SWITCH which class/exam to take??

Hello
My CCNA expires in October but I will take a CCNP certification exam before then. I currently work in a NOC at a cellphone company but we're not using Cisco equipment. Therefore, my cisco skills are rusty. My question is: Which is the LEAST difficult exam to take, the CCNP route or CCNP switch? I would like to get both but my main objective is to be certified before my CCNA expires in October. Anyone with experience with these exams please help me out!! I plan on enrolling in the morning and want to give myself the best chance for sucess in a short period of time. Thanks!

ROUTE would be your best choice to take first.
I took SWITCH first as I figured I knew more about that than routing at the time. I worked with switches far more than routers but what I did not take into consideration was the routing knowledge you needed to have to pass the SWITCH exam, remember for CCNP think Layer 3 switches...CCNA Layer 2 switches, I did not pass the exam. I was already scheduled to take the ROUTE class the following week after my SWITCH exam, that I thought I would pass, so I switched gears and focused on the ROUTE exam. After the first two days of the ROUTE class I realized what I had messed up on with the SWITCH exam and would have passed it if I had this information. So I would highly recommend taking the ROUTE class and then take the ROUTE Exam. Then go on to the SWITCH after that.
Also the most important thing, go to The Cisco Learning Network website and make sure you review the Exam Topics. Based on the Cisco books and instructors what for the lines that start with the word "Configure", make sure you can configure those topics.

Will the expiring CCNP route exam still be valid with the newer Troubleshoot and switch 2.0 exams?

I plan on taking my CCNP (route) exam within the next month but I just notice that the exam will only be valid until Jan of 2015. Now my question is that if I take the exam older exam will it still be valid to combine the newer "Trouble shoot 2.0" and "Switch 2.0"? I would like to take the current route test instead of the newer version becaue I've been studying it but I like to know if it will be uselss or not when combining the other to make myself an official CCNP certification holder.

The answer is unclear, yes you can mix, but you will have to prepare for version 2. I hope it's wrong information.

CCNP Routing & Switching Exam Help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Greeting of the Day !!
I have passed CCNP route (642-902) and switch (642-813) exam in last year. now I am planing to give my TSHOOT in Dec 2015.
But 642-832 will be expiry on 29 Jan 2015. What I should have to do for complication of my CCNP certification.
Can I give new TSHOOT (300-135) in Dec 2015. If I do so then would it complete my CCNP or I have to pass the CCNP V2 route and Switch.
Please Help me.

Power consumption for router and switch

I have a linksys EZSX88W switch which I checked power consumption of 70ma idle. It's supplied by the adapter which has an output of 1000ma. Not sure what the consumption when switch is being used. I also have an WRT54GS but haven't checked consumption yet, but it's powered by the same 1000ma adapter. In an effort to save energy-that -GREEN FEELING- I was thinking of using on power adapter to power bothe the router and switch. Has anyone tried this yet?? Also if I posted this in the wrong area I hope the moderator will move the post.

So you are thinking of Powering on both the Devices using a single Power Adapter? Well never tried to make both the devices use a single power adapter. As far as i think its not possible. But if you still wish, you can give a try and check if that works for you or not.

WHICH CLASS type of 4GB microSDHC does 5610XM supp...

1. Any microSD(T-Flash)more than 2GB is known as "microSDHC".
2. A 4GB microSDHC has three(3)class types, which are Class 2, Class 4 and Class 6.
3. 5610XM can support microSDHC upto 4GB.
Seems that there is no mention in the manual regarding to the captioned. I wonder if class 4 or class 6 - 4GB T-Flash (microSDHC)will 5610XM support?
My question is "WHICH CLASS type of 4GB microSDHC does 5610XM support?"

What is Class Speed Rating?
The SD Association has created and defined 3 speed classes to help you identify speed and performance capabilities/minimum requirements of SD/SDHC, miniSD/miniSDHC, and microSD/microSDHC cards and the host products.
The SD Speed Class Ratings specify a minimum sustained write speed for SDHC/miniSDHC/microSDHC cards (Class 2: 2 MB/s; Class 4: 4 MB/s; Class 6: 6 MB/s*).

Sandisk SDHC cards will work with the 5610. It is unknown if cards larger than 4GB will work, as no one has mentioned it yet.

How to find out which class invoked the constructor

i wrote a class named DAOBase and i am creating object of the same in several other classes. So is there any way to know which class has invoked the constructor of DAOBase.
i want to print out the name of the class that invoked the constructor of DAOBase at the time of constructor invocation...
Is there any way?

So I want to capture each letter typed in arrays.......But I am not able to seperate them and get them in my datatypes... atleast not using this class BufferedReader.... so can I use this class and get it or which class can I use??

Connecting router to switch

Hi all,
I'm using packet tracer version 6.0.1 and I need to connect a switch to a router. My goal is to setup a very small LAN. So far I have two 2900 switches and a computer. The computer can ping each interface vlan IP of the layer 2 switches. The two switches are trunked together. Now I need to connect one of those switches to a router and on the other end of the router will be the internet/ISP connection. So these are my questions:
1. Do I trunk the router and switch just like I did the two switches, any recommendations on that?
2. What type of cabling do I use on the router to connect to the internet/ISP?
3. Do I give the outside interface of the router a public IP address?
4. How do I set the default gateway on the router so all the devices can reach it?
5, How do I route the internal traffic that goes to the router to the internet?

     Yes you need a trunk connection between switch and the router to support multiple VLAN traffic to reach the router.

     I don't think that PT has this option. (Don't mind if i'm wrong because i never tried it).

     Obviously the outside interface of the router should be a public IP if it is going to connect to ISP.
4. How do I set the default gateway on the router so all the devices can reach it?
     You need to configure sub-interfaces on the router for each VLAN and that sub-interface IP address will be the gateway for all the devices in that particular VLAN. (This is called as Router on-a Stick configuration)
5, How do I route the internal traffic that goes to the router to the internet?
     Once you configure the above steps, since your router is directly connected to the ISP your local devices can access internet.

Which classes are required to run a basic client app outside of jDev?

Basic question, folks.
For a minimal program, say a frame and a swing component, which classes need be copied (to a system without any Oracle software installed) in order to run? Is there a listing available that describes which class/jars are needed if x component is used?
Also, will jre 1.4 work? Or do I need to copy a special Oracle JVM? If so, is there a specific installer just for it?

To run any Java application, you will need a Java Runtime Environment(JRE) which is part of the Java Software Development Kit (SKD). If you want to distribute your application with a JRE, you can copy the .../jdk/jre directory from JDeveloper (check the readme file about copyrights and other legal issues) or you download it from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/download.html
Both the AWT and Swing libraries are included in the JRE in the same jar file as the basic java.lang or java.io classes. The name of the file is rt.jar.
If your program runs with the Oracle VM, it will run with Hotspot. Both VMs are equivalent when running your application. It is only for the development phase that we strongly suggest to use the Oracle VM because it is much better instrumented for development than any other VM.
If you want to know precisely which classes are loaded from which jar files, run your application from a command line and add -verbose:class.
For example:
C:\JDev9\jdk\demo\jfc\SwingSet2>java -verbose:class -jar SwingSet2.jar

Actually I think the question was what class is the
array ie arr.getClass().getName().Ah, I see. I guess I misread the question.
I believe that the jvm creates them at runtime as
necessary. Seeing as there are infinite
possibilities for array types, it couldn't happen any
other way.The class must also be available at compile time, not? Or else the compiler just "pretends" there's such a class, because it knows the rules of the language.

-Ddeployment.user.cachedir belongs to which class?

I've posted this in another forum, but I think it might be better located here...
We have Java runtime j2re_1.4.1 installed across our network, and we are making modifcations to how user profiles are handled that means we need to relcoate the user cache directory from %userprofile%\Application data\Sun... to a new location.
Everything I have found to date offers a solution to doing this with a new install by using the -Ddeployment.user.cachedir property, but I'm wanting to do this to an existing installation.
Am I still able to use this property from command line with the java executable, and if so to which class should I be applying it? When I try it on its own, I get the following:
C:\>java -Ddeployment.user.cachedir = "C:\temp"
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: =
If I remove the whitespaces around the = sign, I simply get output for the correct usage of the java executable.
Am I barking up entirely the wrong tree? Or am I merely missing something here? Any help would be really appreciated at this point...
