CCX 8 HA server relocation

We are planning on moving the standby CCX server to another location. we do not have any ip or licensing issues. they have been installed as a LAN deployment. has anyone migrated to a WAN deployment (hopefully without having to rebuild)? We know some of the changes is to do with Heartbeat, but don't know where the parameters can be changed.

Cisco Unified CCX Reporting Server in Partial Service

I can't seem to find anything specific on this, so I'm hoping one of you can assist.
I have a client who is running UCCX 8.0(2) in failover HA, and they just noticed that one of their UCCX servers has the Control Center - Feature Service
Cisco Unified CCX Reporting Server in Partial Service.
The node that is reporting this to be in Partial Service is the standby node.
I was trying to compare with some other clients I have, but it appears they have actually deactivated this service, so I have nothing to judge against. No other services Feature or Network are in Partial Service on either node.
Do you know if the node reporting this is a standby HA server, then should this service show as Partial Service. The active node (Master) shows this service as IN SERVICE.

I believe this is used for the mobile supervisor, that's the Iphone app.
It is disabled on all our systems. If you are not using the Iphone app I suggest you turn it off.

Dataguard server relocation downtime

Hi Guys,
We are using 2 Node Oracle 11g R2 RAC Cluster on windows 2008 as a primary site and the similar cluster congirations on the secondary site. we are relocating our Secondary Standby Database server to a different site. There will be a atleast 10 hours down time on seondary site while we are moving the physical servers. At the moment we have 200GB space available on Production server for FRA and our daily archive log file generation is 70GB maximum. Could you please let me know what is the best way for me to down the secondary standby server and Up it again on the new site without any issues.
1- Shell I Shutdown the standby server straight away and plug in on new site and it can start recovering from the primary site ? (I know this is not a safe way)
2- Shell I turn the transport OFF on the primary site and then turn it ON on later on new site ?
Any feedback would be appreciated !

Exchange Server relocation (Internal IP change)

Hello,
We are in process of relocating our Data Center with this move we need to change our internal IP For Exchange ( CAS,HT,MB and Edge Transport Servers).
Server A
Client Access Role & Hub Transport
Server B
Mail Box Role
Server C
EDge Transport Role
Do I need to change IP's in any sequence or I can just them.
I really appreciate any insight on how to change IP on the Exchange 2010 SP2.

1. Please make sure the certificate on the server is not expired. Also make sure the thumbprint on the certificate matches the thumbprint enabled for SMTP.
2. Please make sure that the Micorosft Exchange Credential Service (EdgeCredentialSvc) is running on the target Edge Transport server.
3. Please Re-subscribe the Edge Transport server, to generate new credentials. Following is the details:
Remove-EdgeSubscription

New-EdgeSubscription
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123800(v=exchg.141).aspx
4. Please run Start-EdgeSynchronization on Hub Server, to have a test.

CAD Problem: Lost connection with the cisco unified ccx application server

I have two locations in our help desk area that consistantly loose connection. I checked the network and we ran new cables. Still having the same issue. They have connectivity to everything else when they loose connection to CAD so I believe there is something going on with the program itself. I have attached the logs from both. There is nothing else that lives on their subnet.
There are 2 servers, the primary 172.29.0.22 and the secondary 172.29.0.23. The Primary is the active server so it is in the same building as the agents.
Can anyone please advise? any help would truly be appreciated!

Non cisco/Third party phones are compatible with CCX 9 or not?

I have a CCX 9 server integrated with CUCM 9 and also non cisco based/Third party phones (SNOM IP Phones) as agent for CCX server. when i try to log in to CAD software with User ID and password that assigned to SNOM phone i got JTAPI error but with CIPC(Cisco IP Communicator) works fine and i could log on without any issue. i checked RMuser controlled device and also allow controlled CTI port,all configured. i checked all documents about this issue but it is not mentioned anything about SNOM phone used as agent. any idea for that? any documents for compatibility list between CCX and agent platform...

Move CPO server/keep database schemas

Hi,
We have moved our database hosting the CPO schemas to a different datacenter. The application server however has not moved.
I have a new server on that same datacenter to use for CPO.
Will installing CPO on the new server using the same oracle schemas affect the table and data that are already there?
Would you have a document on how to do such move?

There is a key on the server which hosts TEO which is used to encrypt data such as runtime users. Without moving this, you will lose all of the encrypted data in the DB. You will need to go through the TEO Server relocation procedures covered in the Resiliency Strategy document to ensure the key is present on the PO server you are moving.
You may want to take this in 2 steps. First go through the database server change using the tool for this purpose. Once that's working, go through the server move process.
Working with TAC through this process would probably be a good idea.
Also, this may be a good way to explore the mechanics of the hot stanby strategy should you want to use it for HA until such time as PO 3.0 arrives.

UCCX 7 silent monitor over Windows VPN

We have remote users that connect to our corporate network via Windows VPN. However we are unable to monitor these users when they work remotely. Get the "Silent monitor session failed. Not receiving voice from agent's phone" message. I'm pretty sure that Windows VPN is not supported by CCX 7 (Premium license). However wondering if anybody has found a way to circumvent this issue to enable remote users over WVPN to be monitored.

I presume you are using CIPC?
There is no NAT or other packet manipulation happening on the Microsoft VPN head-end is there?
Are you able to open telnet sessions on the ports used for recording from/to CAD and the CCX recording server? This is the most common issue where something is blocking these ports.

Cisco Agent Desktop (CAD) Timed Out

Hello Everybody,
I'm looking for a little insight into a problem that was encountered recently with a customer that essentially caused downtime. When the Agents were attempting to log into Cisco Agent Desktop it gave the following error:
"The request to log into the Cisco Unified CCX application server timed out. Please verify your system is online and try again."
CCX Version : 8.0.2.11002-3
CUCM: 8.0.3.21011-1 with LDAP integration/authentication
The customer does have high availability and after restarting both CCX servers the problem still occurred. Finally, once the CUCM publisher was restarted everything the login started working again. As the resolution was a server restart I'm looking for further information regarding this problem, why it may have occurred, and what can be done to prevent it in the future. It seems that LDAP issues are a common cause of this error but why? Can IPA be used as a backup if another situation like this occurs again?

We could never state it will never happen again. CUCM, AD or UCCX could have a latency issue later on. However if you see the technote that I sent it explains what tracing is needed and how to verify that LDAP is not sending the acknowledgement back in time. Below is an example of the MIVR logs;
//Initiating login
461102: Jan 28 08:01:34.909 PST %MIVR-SS_RM-7-UNK:Trying to authenticate agent MSmith
The login ID is the same ID that is used to login to CAD. For our test MSmith was used.
The next message should be that login was successful; however, a time out may have occurred since the CAD timer has expired (10 seconds). We then see after the 10th second CUCM finishes the authentication.
//CUCM returns login successful after the 10 second CAD timer expires causing the timeout message to be displayed
461107: Jan 28 08:01:45.206 PST %MIVR-SS_RM-7-UNK:Successfully authenticated agent MSmith at extension 1904
CAD has ten second timer. If the successful message is not sent within that time CAD fails to login. The port change for the AD server that is the Global Catalog server is also documented in the CUCM SRND and should be used regardless.

Relocation archives on a different content server repository

Good morning,
We are storing scans of bills in a repository of our content server.
I would like to create new repositories on my CS and to relocate my documents for specific years on these repositories.
The idea is to split documents to repositories per year.
I would like to do that because full backup with networker/legato client takes too much time to backup everything each week.
Another important point for me is that I would like to be able to restore faster recent documents in case of a restore/recovery.
1. Would you know if it possible to do so with sap tools?
2. If not, has anyone written a program that provide repository relocation for specific (not all) documents?
From what I have seen archivelink repository ID can be only two characters.
3. Can I choose any combination of two characters for my new RepIds or there are "SAP reserved RepIds"?

DMS: Relocation of storage category/documents to another content server

Our DMS content server was implemented with a 3-tier environment (dev-test-production). There are several SAP instances storing documents to a shared storage category in the global DMS server.
I found recently that one of the production instances on 4.6C was inadvertently configured to store documents on the DMS development server in this same storage category name.
I have found programs to relocate documents from one storage category to another, which could be used if I configured a new storage category pointing to the production content server. However, for business reasons the name of the storage category should not be changed.
Note 445057 and document "Operational Guide - SAP Content Server" provide information on relocation of documents using programs RSCMSEX (export) and RSCSMIM (import). I would like to use these reports to export the documents stored incorrectly on the development server, change the configuration of the content server to the production server address, and import the documents back into the existing storage category.
The documentation does not state whether RSCMSIM will add the imported documents to existing content or will delete all other documents. I would like to insure that I will not lose existing documents in the production server.
I would appreciate advice or feedback from anyone familiar with these programs or relocating documents in DMS.

if setting up a profile does not help, another proposal would be to use the BADI DOCUMENT_STORAGE01 with method BEFORE_LIST_STORAGECAT. Because here you will be able to influence which storage categories are displayed at "Check in to Kpro and Selecting the storage category". If only one category is handed back by the BADI method the pop-up should be avoided and the selected category should be choosen.
Maybe this could be a solution.

Replace standby server in CCX 8.02su3 HA cluster

Hej.
I am replacing the standby server (secondary node) in a CCX 8.02su3 cluster because of hardware failure.
I can only find the procedure for replacing the primary node on cisco .com.
Here is what I attend to do :
1. Remove secondary node (server name) from primary node's www under System->Server
2. Take backup of primary node
3. Add secondary node (server name) in primary node's www under System->Server ( Same ip, sub etc as old secondary node but new mac)
4. Start installation on secondary node (with adding patches in the installation phase so the server comes to SU3 with the same)
5. Take full backup of cluster.
Don't if step 1 (and 3) is nessesary..
Can anyone please verify this procedure.

CCX 8.5 HA virtual+physical server over WAN

Hello for everyone.
There is such task to deploy CCX 8.5 HA cluster - make one node on virtual maschine and second node on the physical server over WAN (wow! :).
So there some question. Anybody already does this deployment model? Will there any trouble in admistration and working in such way?
Will this configuration supported by Cisco?
Tried to find it out on cisco.com and google.com, but no success. So i think, if Cisco supports deployment on hardware, and on virtual so there no problem. But by hardware+virtual, there's a question.
So, any help and thoughts on this will be kindly appreciated!

Yes it's supported as long as they are equivelent hardware. In other words you can't use the 300 OVA on one side and an MCS-7825 on the other. You would need to use a MCS-7845. Personally I wouldn't recommend this. At some point MCS hardware will fall off the compatibility matrix forcing the customer to move to UCS at that time. CCX is rather finicy when it comes to backup/restore of a node in the HA cluster. That's a task I would avoid if you can.

Premiere Pro CC won't let me relocating media on a server?

Im using premiere pro cc and i am connected to a server at work, i had the media linked before and now when i open it and i go to link the media to the file or locate the files, i can't see the server im connected to for some reason, im fully connected to the server and i can see everything using windows explorere but once i try to use premiere to link the media it doesnt load up networks.
anything i need to do to fix this or just a random bug?

One suggestion I have seen is to map the networked drive as a local drive within windows explorer. It then appears to premiere as if its a physical HDD, as its just a drive letter, rather than a networked path.

Relocating SOFFCONT1 items to external content server

I've read the other forum threads on this subject but am still having issues with program RSIRPIRL. Regardless of which Document Area I choose in the selection criteria screen, I cannot seem to locate any of the SOFFCONT1 documents. I can't use PHIO Class because for some reason it appears all of our SOFFCONT1 records are under the "blank" PHIO Class. The only Document Area that gives any significant results during the test run is MIME, but these also are not in the SOFFCONT1 table. Can someone who has used this RSIRPIRL program help me understand how I can use it to relocate SOFFCONT1 documents to our new content server?

I was experiencing the same issue, where no data was selected with the program run. I worked with SAP Support and get the following informaiton:
You can use this report RSIRPIRL to relocate the data in SOFFCONT1 to your external archive server. To do this;
1) Create a content repository in tr. OAC0
2) Create a category and assigned the category to the content repository you created in tr. OACT
3) Run the RSIRPIRL report using the following paramters:
a) Document Area: <Keep blank>
b) PHIO Class: SOFFPHIO
c) Target Category: ZSOFFHTTP (Example name of new category)
d) Source Category: SOFFDB
Hope this helps, the information allowed me to get our documents migrated. The only down side is the program doesn't give options to limit the selection to a reasonable number of records. I'm in the process of migrating 1.9+ million records, and it'll take about 8 days to complete (not running over night).
