Cd burn 4450 error

Seems that in iTunes I can download a few of the playlist songs and then I get this error notice...any thoughts

What kind of cd are you using (cd-r, cd-rw?)?
Have you tried another brand of disk?
Have you tried lowering the burning speed?

  • Why is there a 4450 error message coming up and i can't burn cds???

I will try to burn a playlist to disk, but when i start to burn a CD, it stops in the middle and says something about a 4450 error. I've been through several blank CDs and have tried to fix it by doing all the steps iTunes recommended, but nothing's working. What do i do?

  • Attempt to burn failed - 4450 error

I see at least two other people have encountered this error. I put a new CD in and attempt to burn some purchased songs to it. The process starts, looks like it's working on the first song, and then I get a message that iTunes is cancelling the burn and the error:
"The attempt to burn a disc failed. An unknown error occurred. 4450."
When I check the CD, all the tracks are list as 1KB .cda files which is, of course, enough to make the CD useless.
I found a KB article at one point that suggested updating my CD drivers. I checked but there were no newer ones that what I have installed already. Has anyone solved this problem in any other way? My CD drive is listed as LG CD-RW 8080B when I look in device manager. I also just updated to the latest version of iTunes.

I'm having exactly the same problem. Get the message after it burns the 1st song. I've run the latest Itunes updates, tried to reinstall it, same problem. Gone through 10 blanks now, very frustrated, never had the trouble before. I've tried Maxell & TDK discs. Moved burn speed way down, still no deal. No updates are available for my driver either. Here is my diagnostic. I keep seeing others with this problem, but no real solutions yet, argh.

Does anyone know if Apple is even addressing this issue? Is it automatically a hardware error? Is my drive going bad? (I'm not having trouble writing to this drive with other applications.) Did I get a bad run of CDs? Does Apple ever weigh in on this topic?
    Help!!!!!

I'm getting the same message and posted the same topic yesterday, but with no replies as yet. If I find out anything I will surely let you know, and hope that if you resolve this, you might look me up and let me know how.
I'm a bit jack of apple I must say, they do not have specific help, or seem to be addressing any of the issues people are having in these forums, which is unlike any other company I have dealt with to date. Everyone else seems to have support, but when you look for apple's support, you keep getting these forums. They are a large enough company to warrant some online support of their own.
Good luck, hope you get a resolution, but I am suspecting, as you are that the burner is on the way out. I hope it's as simple as that, do you know how long you've had it ??? I must be going on 5 years now, so it's done it's job, just might need to be replaced.

Many of us have posted and experimented and tried everything mentioned here all to no avail in regards to the 2122 error code. And don't let anyone tell you it's YOUR problem--it's not the AOpen drive that's bad-it's that iTunes is NOT working with or doesn't recognize the AOpen burners.... I've gotten a few replies from Apple people and they even say the same thing....
personally I think it's really SAD AND STUPID that this big company can come up with all sorts of new products, pods, nanos etc and yet can't come back and fix the programs for the people that already bought their original products!!!!
HOW HARD can it be to fix a little thing like this??? I don't honestly know -I am not a programmer--but if this many people have complained, wouldn't it be nice if someone would just ADRESS THE PROBLEM??? And then so many of us wouldn't be sitting here fuming, hoping each time they come out with a new upgrade that MAYBE this time it'll work---rather than to be disappointed over and over again and see the same fricking 2122 error....Don't you think fixing something first would be nice instead of just making more newer faster smaller things??

  • Burning cd, error 4000

I get really tired of iTunes! When I try to burn a cd I get very often the error code 4000. Sometimes it's possible to burn a cd but more often it fails. Please help me with a solution.

I have the same issue with error code 4000. I have been using iTunes for about a year now and have occasionally had this problem. Now when I try to burn this is all that happens and that is the error popping up while the disc is being ejected. I bought some Maxell CD-R’s in bulk about six months ago and other than the occasional error, they have worked fine. I was still managing to burn discs after I upgraded to version 7.0.2; however, now I am left with this error code even after trying to use different discs. When this error message appeared, I checked the option to force the optical power calibration before burning yet this has had no effect. Still while looking at the DVD/CD diagnostics the report states that I still need to turn this option on. I have not even been able to find this option anywhere under the preferences menu. I attempted to update the ATA IDE bus drivers but I have the current updates according to the manufacturer.
After researching on the internet and reading through these forums, I have now concluded that this is a problem with iTunes and if Apple does not solve this problem, I am going to take my business elsewhere. I do not want to buy a Mac because I enjoy using my PC and having the freedom to buy hardware and software from various manufacturers and if Apple cannot keep the millions of PC users happy with iTunes and Ipod then I guess they do not want our money either.

  • Failure to burn CD error message

Everything has been working fine until recently when every CD that is burned only records the first 5-6 songs and then ejects the CD and the message "failure to burn CD error" message is displayed.

I don't think this problem has been "answered". The problem is random. Sometimes I burn with no problem. This morning my first burn worked fine. Then I had 4 failures in a row. Tried changing nothing. Tried changing burn speed. Eventually I am now having a sucessful burn. Thank goodness that it does not ruin the blank but it seems to be increasing in frequency. Why doesn't apple address this problem? I see hundreds of posts with the same problem. Many are archived. Some like this thread claim to answered. But the problem is that, in my experience, the problem comes and goes. Sometimes I have sucess without changing anything after a failure. Today I quit iTunes and when I started it up again it failed once and now its just finished a sucessful burn. I'm burning the same playlist each time of unprotected music but I notice no difference whether I'm burning purchased music, ripped music, downloaded music, aiff, aac, acc protected, mpeg or a mixture of same.

Hi I had this problem as well. It caused a lot of frustrations especially as I was showing off the ease of my mac to a pc freak!!!

    Aloha and Welcome to discussions.
Boy, could be lots of things actually...
I would start by deleting the encoded asset ( Look under "Advanced" in the menu bar).
Plus, be sure to follow the chapter rules:
*Make sure no chapter markers are within two seconds of the start or end of the timeline.
*Make sure no chapter markers are within a transition.
*Make sure no chapter markers are within two seconds of the end of a transition.
Check your JPEG filenames and folder names. Don't use any special characters. Be sure to use only letters, numbers, and underscores, and only one "." Do not use "/" or "." at the beginning of a file name.
Another thought is about the music you used. Is it from the iTunes Store? You may need to burn a CD of the music and import from that.
If you used photos, your iPhoto Library may be corrupt. You could try rebuilding the library or try dragging the photos to the desktop and then into iDVD.
BTW-next time try saving the iDVD project as a "disk image" and use the disk utility or a program like Toast to burn the DVD.
Aren't using an external burner are you?
