Cd burner has error 4450

when i burn cds over one hour the cd burns all up until the last three seconds and then says cd burning canceling and an error massage pops up on the screen that says unknown error occured 4450. The cd plays in cd players but it is not recognized on itunes. its also missing the last 30 seconds or so of the last song. this only started happening recently. please HELP!

It turns out that the cds were the problem. I bought a pack of Memorex and they're somehow defective because the Sony cds didn't have the same problem. Weird huh.

I was having similar errors while burning CDs. I don't know specifically what they're for, but I think it may have something to do with the memory on your system. I read that iTunes has to copy each song to memory before it actually burns it to the CD. If you're doing other things on your PC, iTunes may be running out of temporary memory. Try restarting Windows to refresh, then burn another. It worked for me.

  • Cannot Burn Discs / Error 4450

My iTunes will not burn my selected playlist. I insert a disc, it initializes, begins writing my songs however stops and ejects the disk. An error message pops up,
"attempt to burn disc failed. unknown error occurred 4450"
Once this happens to the disc, the disc is no longer considered blank even though the attempt was cancelled per the computer. I am wasting discs and very frustrated since I was told itunes is very user-friendly. Please help.
Here are the details about my computer:
    Pavilion HP Slimline s7500y PC
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 2002
    iTunes 7.0.2.16
Intel R Celerom RM Processor 1.70 GHz, .99 GB of RAM
I need very specific instructions. I am not a technology savvy person; minimal knowledge of computers. Thanks.

I am having the same problem! I have tried everything that has been suggested and nothing has worked. I've downloaded the new version of iTunes, checked for updates on my drivers, reducted the speed and the playback gap, and nothing is working. The CD burns to about the 3rd song, then gives the error message and now that CD is no longer read as empty (I can no longer use it have been forced to throw many away). I'm wasting CDs here! Any help would be greatly appereciated.

  • CD Burn Error 4450

    I have been getting 4450.
Today I burned through 14 discs (three different brands) attempting to copy various playlists. It would kick in for a minute or so and then spit out the CD, saying that the burn speed was too high or giving me error prompt 4450.
I tried kicking down the burn speed to 4x -- even though it's always been set at ''maximum possible'' -- and same thing.
A similar thing happened when I tried Windows Media Player.
But I was able to burn a CD using Roxio.
Trouble is, I want access to my downloaded music on iTunes.

  • Cannot burn CDs or back up iTunes--error #4450

I can't burn CDs or back up iTunes. I keep getting error message 4450 (unspecified error). Does anyone know how to fix this? It sounds like a different problem than the one discussed in the earlier thread.

Same thing here. I was able to burn CDs on Saturday, but not today for some reason. Error 4450. However, I can play the same CD I just tried to burn through Windows Media Player. But iTunes won't recognize the disk when I try to reload it. Looks like Apple really screwed everyone who has a PC on this most recent update. Hmmmm...perhaps that's their way of 'encouraging' people to buy Mac. Maybe Steve Jobs should spend less time hanging out with Bono and more time developing software that actually works.

  • CD Burning error 4450 and 4850

I've tried burning CD's from my iTunes and it flat out doesn't work anymore. It starts and then cancels after a few seconds with 'error 4450' and sometimes it goes on to the second song but then cancels with an 'error 4850.' I've also noticed I can't import sometimes, even if the CD has virtually no scratches. Is it my CD drive or is something else up? Please help!

I'm having exactly the same problem with 4450 & 4850 errors, using compatible hardware and several different brands of blank media. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes and made sure my drive's drivers are current. It seems that a number of users are experiencing the same problem, and I'm anxious to see an explanation and solution posted.

  • Disc Burning Error 4450

I have been encountering this error ** The Attempt to Burn Disc has failed Error 4450*** when trying to burn my Itunes purchases to disc, I have ruined multiple blank discs.I ran the Itunes diagnostics and everything passes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Todd

Here's how I got my problem fixed. First of all my problem was that the songs I had purchased in the past were bought under a different user name (and it was an AOL account, not an Apple account) on a different computer. The AOL account had "expired", meaning the credit card attached to it was no longer valid. After deleting the SC Folder as directed in another discussion the matter got worse.
I went to the iTunes support site (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/) and selected "Authorization" from the "Get Customer Service" list and then "Troubleshooting authorization problems" then clicked on "email us". I explained my issue and the next day I had a response from Apple. I was told I had to convert the AOL account to an Apple account by trying 'to sign in to the iTunes Store three (3) times using your AOL screen name and password.
After the third sign-in attempt, the iTunes Store will ask if you would like to
transition your account to an Apple ID. Click Convert and follow the onscreen
    instructions.
As part of this transition, the credit card information in your AOL wallet is
automatically imported into your iTunes Store account. From then on, your iTunes
Store purchases will not be charged to your AOL wallet.
If the credit card for your AOL wallet has expired, or if you have canceled it,
the transition from AOL to Apple ID won't work. In that case, I can convert your
account for you. Before I can do this, however, Apple requires that you provide
    the following for security reasons:
    - The billing address listed on the account
    - Your permission to reset the password
...as well as one of the following:
    - the last four digits of the credit card used for your iTunes Store account
    - or the order number of your most recent purchase
    - or the name of any item you've purchased using this account
Upon receiving your response, Apple will verify your information, convert your
account manually, and send you an email with your new password.
Once you're able to authorize your computer to play purchases made using that
account, you can transfer the items from your iPod to the computer without any
    issues.'
Since my credit card had expired I had to send the information and they sent back a
    Hope this helps.

Options were to have an Apple technician make a home call and possibly replace the lens (a very expensive cost) or to purchase an external CD/DVD drive compatable with Apple IMac. I bought an LG external CD/DVD drive and it works well. I can now burn CD/DVD's. Be carefull though. My first purchase was with an Apple Super USB port external unit and my IMac did not support it. It was made for IMac's made in 2012 and after. I purchased mine in 2009. I took it back to Best Buy and the Geek Squad representative said that I needed an external player/burner with a separate power source since my computer could not support the power. He was correct. My LG has a separate power cord going to a separate electricsl outlet in the wall and the connector from the unit going into a USB port in my computer. It works fine. I can burn discs from playlist.

  • Error 4450 when trying to burn a cd

Please help me to fix this issue. I have the latest version of iTunes, and my burner is working correctly, and I am using blank discs.
I purchased $20 of music and made a playlist to burn, it checks, initializes and begins burn, then alerts me that it is being cancelled and gives me this error "the attempt to burn a disc failed, unknown error 4450"
I have the preference set to audio cd, checked my burner and discs, it all works. I tried restarting computer. Logging off and back on to iTunes, updated iTunes, repaired iTunes, removed iTunes, installed older version 7.1 but then it couldn't read my library, so reinstalled 7.6 and still not able to burn
    Please help?!

OK, I feel like an idiot.
I tried all the suggestions, from lowering burn speed, running diagnostics, etc etc.
After contacting Apple and complaining about the service and inability to burn a CD of music I purchased, I finally opened my drive, and looked at the lens, it had a thin residue all over the entire lens and disc holding area, I simply wiped it off gently with a soft cloth, and voila!
    I can burn now!

Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here.
