CD cover lost when converting to 128 kBit

Hi, in order to save space on my iPhone I chose the iTunes option to convert mp3 files to 128 kBit. However, in this case the CD cover will not be transfered to the iPhone. Any known solutions to this?
Best regards
Hermann W.

you would get that music from itunes, not icloud.  Icloud just keeps track of the purchased music from the itunes store but even that is not part of a backup.

  • Album art is lost when converting.....

You can now convert to 128, 192, or 256 AAC.  This is a great feature, I've actually been waiting for this for a while.
So today, I decided to try it out.  I set it to 128, and re-synced some music I had at 320.  It worked, but there is no album art.  iTunes apparently does not keep the album art when converting the songs.
I've tried re-installing iTunes, but nothing seems to help.  Does anyone know a fix for this?  I'd really like to use this feature

I have the same problem and it's the same with some of my podcast art. It's very frustrating that things work just fine with iCloud when it comes to mailaccounts and all other stuff and a simple thing like this won't work.

  • HT1766 how can i recover calendar data that i lost when converted to icloud

i have lost most all of my data on my iphone when i went from mobilme to icloud...is there any way to recover it?

    Hi, Mike.
It sounds like you're trying to convert a PDF (which contains a "document open" password) to Microsoft Word. Is that correct? Which product or service are you using to do this conversion - Adobe CreatePDF or Adobe Acrobat or some other product?
CreatePDF cannot currently convert password-protected PDFs to Word. You will typically get an error which says that conversion cannot proceed due to password protection. Acrobat can convert password-protected PDFs to Word, provided you have the password and can provide that at the time you open the PDF in Acrobat.
If you would like to see CreatePDF better handle password-protected PDFs, please add that to our Ideas page.
    Thanks.

  • Audio lost when converted to iPod

I have a video (48.4 MB mpg) that plays fine in QT and iTunes but when it is converted (with either) to iPod (24.2 MB m4v) using "Convert selection to iPod" the audio is lost but video is fine. Any suggestions. Thanks. Phil

Hi Phil. There seem to be some problems regarding the conversion of video files with muxed audio (i.e with audio embedded in the video file), and Quicktime does not support the conversion of MPEG-1 files. I have used the excellent (and free) iSquint to convert videos for my iPod with great success. There is also an application called ViddyUp ($9.95) which offers similar functionality, and can convert files with muxed audio.

  • Leading Zeroes are lost when convert from string to int

What I'm trying to do is simple yet the solution has seemed difficult to find.
I have a system that requires 4 digit numbers as "requisitionNo". The system uses JSPs and accepts the 4 digit number that the user inputs (fyi - duplicate handling is already managed). The input number (rNumber) is of STRING type and in the action (using struts) is converted to an int:
int requisitionNo = Integer.parseInt(rNumber); At that very line the issue is that when the user inputs a number with leading zeros such as: "0001" the 3 leading zeros are chopped off in the INT conversion. The application validation kicks in and says: "A 4 digit number is required" which is by design. The work around has been that the user has been putting in number that start with 9's or something like that, but this isn't how the system was intended to be used.
How do I keep the leading zeroes from being lost instead of saving a number "1" to the database how do I keep it saving "0001" to the database? Would I just change everything to STRING on down to the database? or is there another number type that I can be using that will not chop off the leading zeroes? Please provide short code references or examples to be more helpful.

Yeah, I have to agree here that leading zeroes make no sense. I figured that out when I started to look into this problem. The only requirement that exists is that the user wants it to be a 4 digit number due to some other requirement they have themselves.
So what I'm gathering from what I've read in the responses thus far is that I should change the validation a bit to look at the STRING for the 4 required digits (which are really 4 characters; maybe I should add CLIENT side numeric validation; currently its doing server side numeric/integer validation; or maybe change up the server side validation instead???) and if they are ALL GOOD then let the application save the int type as it wants to. IE: Let it save "0001" as just "1" and when I come back to DISPLAY this saved number to the user I should append the string of "000" in front of the 1 for display purposes only? Am I understanding everyone correctly?

  • Audio lost when converting from standard to widescreen

I have been working on an iMovie project for about two  weeks and just noticed that there was an option for widescreen vs standard mode.  I read through the instructions and it said that one can convert to widescreen at any time in a project. I converted to widescreen and when I did I seem to have lost 2/3 of the audio in the clips. But its strange because the clips are clearly there - the ducking still works, the audio clip title are there, but there's no sound. I am hoping that there's a simply fix and that I don't need to reconstruction the movie.  HELP! Please.
    Thanks
    David Trachtenberg, Berkeley, Californai

I resolved the issue.  I googled the issue and the answer was right there. Turns out that one audio clip (out of dozens in the project) was somehow corrupted. A small yellow triangle was the indication.  Once I deleted that clip all of the other audio came back into the project.  I simply pasted a fresh version of that audio clip into the project and the all was not lost.

  • How to get rid of blank white page next to cover page when converting an indesign file into a pdf flip book

    Hey Everyone,
I created an catalog using indesign and now I want to convert that into a pdf flip book. I have exported it as a SWF then changing the SWF back into a pdf. It works great however, I keep getting a blank white page next too my cover page, and I really don't want this. I find it very distracting and visually unappealing. Is there any way to get rid of this blank white page? Or any other suggestions on how to create a flip book out of an indesign file.

It sounds as if you're not checking the pagination properties of the chapter after the problem within the book file.
The book file settings always trump the component file's settings.
So this would mean that, if Chapter 3 is set in the book file to start on a Right page, the book enforces this by adding a blank page to Chapter 2.
You should be able to fix this by selecting all the component chapters in the book, right-clicking and setting all the pagination properties to start on Next Available page, but I don't have 7 on this system so I can't give you the exact key strokes.

  • Chapters lost when converting movies for ipod

I have some video with chapters that when I convert them to ipod version the chapters are gone. Any reason for this?

I can't think of a reason this would happen, but I here is how to put the chapter marks back in (granted it takes a little work).

  • Fm-xrefs getting lost when converting DITA to FM DITABOOK

    Hi,
I'm using fm-xrefs for all my cross references within my DITA project. They work fine when I generate .chm files, but the hyperlinking is lost completely when I generate .fm documents by building an FM DITABOOK. I'm using the standard Adobe DITA plug-in in and FM 8.
Any clues how I might preserve the links?
    Grateful for help.
    Thanks,
    Ian

    Hi Ian...
I'm pretty sure that there is no simple solution for you. Unless this was fixed in a patch that I'm unaware of, the FM8 DITA support doesn't repoint the @href attributes to the FM file topics after the map to book conversion. The @hrefs are probably still pointing at the source XML files, which isn't going to work since they aren't part of the book. Take a look at the attributes under the xrefs after the conversion.
Note that you can use DITA-FMx with FM8 which does work properly in this regard.

  • Pattern overlay lost when converting to editable text?

    Hey everyone.
    I'm using CS5, PC.
I'm facing an issue I never faced before and I can't find a relevant answer for CS5. I did see an answer that is probably correct for CS3, but I hope its solves by now.
    Try 1.
I imported a PSD as composition with merge layer styles.
I then go to a text layer, which I want to convert to an editable text layer. When I open the properties, no layer styles appear. (because I chose mergerd layer styles composition..)
The original PSD in photoshop has only a pattern overlay.
When I convert it to editable text, the pattern overlay disappears.
    Try 2.
same importing settings.. go to the text layer...
Right click ->layer style -> convert to editable layer styles - - - > Patter overlay + Blending options appear in layers properties.
Second Right click -> convert to editable text - - - > pattern overlay disappears.
    Try 3.
I imported a PSD as composition with editable layer styles.
I then go to a text layer, which I want to convert to an editable text layer. When I open the properties, 'Layer style' appears. can toggle on/off.
Right click -> convert to editable text - - - > pattern overlay disappears.
But -  'Layer style' still appears in the properties, and it's on. But now when I toggle on/off, nothing changes.. Pattern is gone..
    Conclusion:
From this I get to the conclusion, that I cannot convert a text layer which has a pattern overlay into editable text, and retain the pattern
I hope I'm wrong, and there is a way to retain the pattern.
Please let me know if you have a solution, or if you know for sure that my conclusion is correct..
    Thanks is advanced!

There is always a work around, there's just no easy workaround for unsupported layer styles to editable text. The complexity of the workaround depends entirely on what you are planning to do with your 'editable text' in AE. A little more info about your project would help.

  • Graphics in FrameMaker 9 lost when converted in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

Since upgrading to FrameMaker 9, some graphics that appear fine in FrameMaker become black boxes in the PDFs created by Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. By finding the original graphic and reimporting it, the problem is solved, but the original graphic is not always available. Is there any other workaround to this problem created by the software? Suggestions would be gratefully appreciated!

I use Save As PDF (book). When I print to PDF, I don't get the problem (but I don't get the bookmarks)
I think you find in many places on this forum that the best practices for making a PDF is to print to the Adobe PDF printer, either directly or indirectly (saving the ps file and distilling with Distiller). It is my understanding that there are problems with Save As PDF.
In any event, you should be able to get bookmarks by printing to Adobe PDF printer. In the Print dialog, select Generate Acrobat Data and click PDF Setup. In the PDF setup dialog > Bookmarks tab, select Generate PDF Bookmarks and select the formats to bookmark. It is the same dialog that displays when you do Save As PDF.
Because your graphics are COPIED into the Frame files, I know of no way to get them out again from the Frame file. That is why I always import graphics by reference, so that the original graphic is always available if needed for editing or reimportation.
If you absolutely need a graphic file AND the Frame to PDF workflow is working properly, you can always create the PDF for the page with the graphic (turning OFF all resampling and compression). Then open the file in Illustrator and delete all but the graphic; then save as PDF or eps. Or open the PDF in Acrobat Professional and export the image (if a bitmap) or delete all but the graphic and save as PDF.

  • Pages TOC lost when converting to ePub

Being new to Pages, I viewed the online tutorials to get me started. I have managed to create a short book and the formatting of the text seems fine in Pages. However, when I export the file to ePub, and view this in iBooks on the iPad, the Table of Contents has gone missing. I have downloaded Apple's template (ePub best practices for Pages) and the same thing happens when I export that to ePub: missing TOC..?

    You are funny guys.
    (1) If someone ask here about an application dedicated to iOS, it's normal to redirect him to the iWork to iOS forum because here you are in a forum dedicated to Pages for OSX and most of us don't use the iOS version.
    (2) When you registered to be able to ask a question here, you were urged to read the Terms of Use.
In this one you may read the sentence which I display at the very bottom of my messages.
So, even if you dislike that, I will continue to urge askers to search in existing threads before opening a new thread.
About the precise question asked in the first message, Fruhulda did like me, she searched in the existing threads.
Our knowledge isn't infinite and we don't remember every questions already answered.
As I don't think by default that my brain is more efficient than asker's one, I always assume that if I am able to find the answer to the asked question with a simple request in the Search tool, the asker was able to do the same.
In this case, the correct answer was reachable with the very simple request
epub AND toc which use as keywords two basic words available in the asker's question.
The way I answer here is based upon good old aphorisms:
When a man is hungry, it is better to teach to him to fish that to give him a fish.
When you plant a seed once, you obtain a single harvest. When you educate people, you obtain one hundred from it.
The good man asks for nothing but himself, the man of few asks for everything the others.

  • FNC1 characters lost when scan EAN 128 label to sap console

I am trying to scan a EAN128 label into an SAPconsole screen, but the control characters (FNC1) are getting lost before I can use them to parse the label.
Sapgui works fine for the same transaction.

    Hi.
FN1 Is a non-printable character, you must change it for "@" for to the database as interpreter.

  • Error -50 when trying to sync using new 128 kBit setting for iPod/iPhone

Starting with iTunes 9.1 there’s a new option to convert songs with higher bitrates to 128 kBit/s AACs when syncing to an iPod/iPhone. I wanted to use that in order to save space on my iPhone since most of my songs are either 192+ AACs or 256+ MP3s. The problem is, that it will stop syncing with an error. It’s always the same song and the whole album containing it does not get synced to the iPhone. The dialogue box says:
iTunes could not copy <songname> to the iPhone, because of an unknown error (-50).
Of course I could try to re-encode this 320 kBit/s MP3 file before syncing, but I wondered if there’s a way without doing so. Has anyone had this type of error yet?
    Thanks
    Björn

Does anyone have a better solution? I am having this same error, and I really don't want to re-encode anything on my originals. I've done that in the past and I was unhappy with the resulting media in an ABX test. Why does iTunes have to be so picky. One of the songs is in my top 10 favorite that I listen to all the time, and as such I KNOW the song displays no obvious corruptions. AAC is the devil.
