Most likely you don't need the CD. You have a few options.
. Use Windows Media Player to transfer songs.
2. Use the drag and drop method with Windows Explorer
3. Download the latest version of Media Source and the PlaysForSure MTP device plugin and use that to transfer stuff.

Sorry Glen, but there is not. And you don't have to upgrade to 10.6 (Snow Leopard). You need at a minimum of 10.5.8 (Leopard).

I know of no such way. RecBoot will place an iPod in recvery mode without using the butttons but I know of no similar program for DFU mode.

You can sync with any computer. You may be prompted by iTunes on a different computer to transfer apps on your iPhone to iTunes. As far as Music, you need to be careful with what's on the other computer before syncing Music. Same with photos.
I go back and forth between two Macs with my iPhone and both are synced with my phone. But I had to turn all syncing off the 2nd computer and one by one (Apps, Music, Photos) setup the syncing on that computer.
Hope this all makes sense.

Hey Lost my itunes on my laptop when my hard drive crashed. They were able to to save a couple of songs and my cloud music. I purchased new music before on my new disc. Can I upload my ipod and save what little is on my hard drive and will I do any bad things to my ipod downloads.

Well in order to keep all the ratings, playcounts ect ect of songs in iTUnes, place the songs back into there original folders/places on the "Old harddrive" by cutting (Not copying) them from the new Harddrive. Now iTunes should report the songs has being there and have ! marks beside the imported folder from your external Harddrive.
Now you will delet the dead/broken links (Or missing music from the new drive)in iTUnes. Goto Ottos site for a script that will remove dead links and other things here

Now with everything in place and the dead links removed you will either consolidate the library or set it to copy to another Folder. If you consolidate it moves ALL your music listed in iTunes to the "iTunes Music" folder and can not be reversed. If you set it to copy, it will just copy music from its current folder to the iTunes music folder. You will have to pick the best option for you but consolidating will work best if your trying to free up space. To consolidate goto "Advanced" and select "Consolidate Library". To copy goto Edit>preferenses>Advanced tab>general sub tab and check "Copy FIles to iTunes music Folder when added to library". THis location is also where you will change the location of iTunes Music folder from your old harddrive to the new one by hitting the "Change" button above the reset button

Thanks for the useful feedback, Knucklesmac. I agree. I must have blown something on the logic board -- because I had a faulty old KVM switch that would not switch between computers without some nasty hot-plugging/unplugging the VGA video cables. (wince!). It's like when Dizzy Dean ruined his arm because a line drive hit him in the foot and he readjusted his mechanics around the injury. I take the blame because this has been a great computer, and does not deserve any blame.

Try this to start:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

Download and install 10.8.4 Mountain Lion Update v10.8.4 (Combo). Before you install be sure to do the following:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion/Mountain Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) i don't believe there is any other way with any mobile phone to turn it on apart from depressing the power button. try taking your phone battery out for ten minutes then replacing it, and see if your phone powers on. if this does not work, and there appears to be physical damage to your power button/does not work, then you will have no choice to take your phone to your local Nokia Care Centre for them to take a look at.
