CD drive slow at ripping after ITunes error

I was simply ripping a disc in ITunes when it froze and I had to ctrlaltdelete the program. After starting it back up and attempting to burn again, I noticed that it not only made the computer resources go to roughly 100% (previously it was not nearly that much), but it also decreased from the 10X-15X burn range to around 2X-4X.
The thing about this is, that it did this to me early last year as well, but I just ignored the problem until I was forced to reset my whole computer do to a faulty secondary hard drive. Once the computer was reset, the CD Drive worked perfectly normal again, and I was hoping it would stay that way. Sadly, ITunes yet again messed up the way my CD Burner does it's job (even trying to burn in something in WMP causes the slowdown now).

Does apple have an official "help e-mail" for various problems of this sort, or are public forums the only source of assistance?

After I installed iTunes on this pc (P4 2.6Ghz with SiS 650 chipset) the DVD drive suddenly comes up in device manager as "not working properly" with one of those yellow exclamation points on it...no biggie: we banned the stupid kids from using their ipods on this computer.
now the kids have their own pc...a fair bit older. after i installed itunes on it the CD drive is still active in device manager, but every CD inserted comes up as blank. (ie....the drive no longer bothers reading the disc)
forgive me for being the slightest bit cranky at the windows implementation of itunes, but does anyone have some sort of insight regarding this matter?

I am having the same problem. On IBM T43 laptop.
After the upgrade to 7.2.0.35 my CD drive will read discs and I can even see it when I use file->import; but then I have to import each track individually.
I also don't get "Play using iTunes" in the autorun window after inserting a CD that I used to get.
Doesn't matter whether I put in an audio or movie CD/DVD only windows media options are shown to me.
This is very annoying especially since one of my recent purchases has 45 tracks on it.

Help! ipad stuck in recovery mode after itunes error 6

so I was gonna update my ipad 3 from 6.1.2 I think, to 7.0.4 but I got the error 6 in itunes. now my ipad is showing the connect to itunes symbol and itunes wants to restore my ipad, which I wouldn't wanna if there was any chance to get it out of that frickin mode. I've tried anything I could find on the internet, like several tools such as tiny umbrella, redsn0w, ireb (which said my device wasn't supported cause of the A5) etc. but after rebooting the connect to itunes comes on again.
so if there is any method left that might work for me, pleeeease help me
a restore is the last thing I wann do, of course I have a backup and so on but it takes so much time to get all my stuff back on and everything

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
After you have Recovered your Device...
Re-Sync your Content or Restore from the most recent Backup...

Powerbook showing full hard drive!!!after itunes update

Hi guys,
Ive got a 80gb powerbook. I recently firewired my itunes library from my powermac to my powerbook. I deleted the old library on my powerbook before doing this. Anyway since ive done this the laptop tells me there is only 2 gb of disk space left. Ive used whatsize to see where it is.
users: 16.7gb
applications 6.67gb
library 2.12gb
system 1.53gb
the rest all adds up to about 1.5gb
and thats it so where as all the hard disk space gone. ive looked at all the posts here but it seems when they use whatsize it shows where all the disk space has gone. On my laptop i cant see any strange files and it shows over 70gb used but it doesnt add up when you go through each area as ive shown above .. please help

Hi again guys, I downloaded onyx after being unable to find any files of any significant size that would cause this problem. Anyway i deleted the misc options area in cleaning. purely out of frustration to be honest. but hey presto my laptop no shows over 40gb of unused space. dont know what the problem was but thankfully it is now sorted...thanks

Optical drive doesn't work after installing itunes 11.0.5.5

After updating to iTunes 11.0.5.5 my optical drive does not work. I have put the same CD in another PC and it works fine. When I right click on the optical disc drive in 'Computer' I get the error message "Windows cannot access the specified device, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item." If a CD is in the drive, the drive will either keep popping open or not open at all on its own. The CD will not open in any other player such as Windows Media Player either.

I did not have any AFS drivers.
This is what I did and my optical drive is now working:
1. Backed up iTunes
2. Unistalled iTunes
3. Tried to install iTunes 10.7 for Windows 64

4. When iTunes tried to launch I received the message "iTunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes"
5. My computer would not recongize the optical drive at all now
6. I re-installed iTunes 11.0.5 for Windows 64

7. All my iTunes data is there and my optical drive works now
Note: I should clarify that before uninstalling iTunes 11.0.5 my optical drive worked sometimes. It would play maybe one song, both in iTunes and Windows Media Player and then stop working. The drive would also pop open on its own whether there was a disc in there or not. Also sometimes I had to manually open the drive with a paper clip.

The Yosemite upgrade very often damages existing Photoshop installations. Thank Apple for that.
You need to uninstall and re-install Photoshop, then apply all the Photoshop upgrades from scratch.

I bought a Sandisk Connect Media Drive, downloaded the app from iTunes. Before iOS 8, movies played fine. After iOS upgrade I can no longer play movies downloaded from iTunes to the media drive. Anyone else have a similar issue?

I checked with SanDisk's own online support and they indicate that they have notified Apple of the issue.
According to SanDisk, the problem lies with Apple not having the iOS 8 version of the Safari browser having DRM decoding enabled that the Media Drive relies upon to decode and play iTunes DRM titles. Non DRM encoded videos will play in the browser.
DRM audio is not effected as this is handled by the native iOS music app.
As of the date of this post SanDisk have not been given a timeframe by Apple for this issue to be resolved.
I hope that Apple resolves this issue quickly as I have a large collection of DRM video titles on a 128Mb memory card installed in the Media Drive that I am unable to view.

After itunes installation an error message is shown, (itunes could not connect to the iphone, because it is locked with a passcode, you must enter your passcode on your iphone before it can be used with itunes)

ITunes does not recognize these back up files even though the location is the same as cloud & recently burned music that does show- help! The backup files consist of 34,000+ songs; almost all burned from my own CD collection. I do have most of the songs on an ipod classic but hesitate to try to restore from that. Can someone tell me how to get these 34,000 songs to show up in iTunes? Thanks!!

The red outline highlights the media folder and its contents, the various subfolders are only created if that kind of content is in your library. The right-hand side shows the files that should be found in the iTunes library folder; sentinel is normally hidden so may not be visible. The core of your iTunes library is the file iTunes Library.itl, you need to restore this, the other library files and the Album Artwork folder, as well as the media folder, to restore your library.

The only thing that worked for me was to boot in safe mode.
Power down. Then press power button and hold 'shift' key until grey screen with progress bar appears... Once booted and logged in just open safari and browse to applestore.
No trouble at all once I did this.
Reminder: create full backup before you upgrade OS

Start up error message - Entry point xml TextReaderConstName could not be located in the dynamic link library libxm12.dll. Happened after Itunes up date I think. Have tried uninstalling and installing nothing works. Help please

At start up I get the error message - The procedure entry point xml TextReaderConstName could not be located in the dynamic link library libxm12.dll. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled but it does not fix the problem. Happened after Itunes update I think.

It's a simple fix and doesn't involve reinstalling anything.
With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the libxml2.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Restart the programme all should be well
In case that your OS is (64 bit)
1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
2. Copy file "libxml2.dll"
3. Open new windows explorer, to to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
4. Paste file "libxml2.dll" to the location.
5. Restart the programme, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

ITunes Error 7 (Windows error 127) after installing iTunes 64-bit for Windows

After installing iTunes 64-bit for Windows (latest build), I get an error pop-up saying:
iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes
Error 7 (Windows error 127)
I've gone thru the uninstall, reboot and reinstall process three or four times now. Still nothing.
Furthermore, after clicking okay to the error, it continues to pop up on it's own every 45 seconds or so.
There was one other error I came across after trying to launch iTunes after installation.

Brilliant. Thanks a lot. I've wasted a couple of hours on this nasty bug, & trying all the other suggestions across various threads again and again.
I now find I had the same registry entry hanging on, despite uninstalling & wiping everything again and again. Having now deleted this key, (I don't even have an iPod), & iTunes 11.1.14 now opens at long last.
But WHY is this bug not fixed? Enough people are suffering with this across the forum. WHERE is Apple support on this?

AHA! This entry for iPodService.exe still exhisted. So I had no folders on the PC, no installs on the PC and no services running.... BUT this was still in the Registry.
Step 5 - Delete only the Registry entry above. NO REBOOT
Step 6 - Reinstall iTunes64.exe

ITunes error 7 (windows error 126) after updating

After updating itunes last night (I put it off for a while), I recieved the message "iTunes helper was not installed correctly. iTunes error 7". So i tried to reinstall, and recieved the same message. After uninstalling everything related to itunes from my computer, and redownloading and installing itunes 11.2.2 for windows 64 bit, I recieved the same message.
