Cd drivers missing

CDs are not recognized by ITunes or my computer but DVDs and data CD are fine it will not burn ether giving me an error 4450 on Itunes. I have reinstalled Itunes CD drivers and removed filters but nothing works.
I am using Windows Vista home basic on a Toshiba satelite L30 it has a Matshita UJ-850S super drive. The only thing I really need to do is import music CDs on to Itunes. Please help.

Hi Banniste6,
Thanks for your reply and letting me know it did not work. It sounds like a different direction may be warranted here. Due to the nature of your issue you may find more information by using another one of Apple's support resources:

  • CD/DVD Drivers Missing msg when starting newly installed iTunes 11.1.4

I saw this error posted for other versions but none of the solutions have fixed the problem.
    The error msg is:
The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for Importing & Burning CD's & DVD's are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD Burning software.  Please reinstall iTunes.
First off, I have Roxio installed, but it has been installed for several years and both programs have coexisted without issues until I updated to 11.1.4 two days ago.
When the message appears, I click OK and iTunes opens and appears to work fine, as far as displaying my library and playing music. I ran iTunes diagnostics on the CD drive with a pre-recorded CD and it sees the drive but won't read the CD. (the diagnostic log is below).  However if I just insert a CD into the drive, iTunes recognises it and asks if I want to Import it.  I did once just to make sure it worked and it did.  I can even play the music on the CD with iTunes.  However, I cannot Burn a Playlist to a CD.
Here is what I've done so far:
    1. Started you the Setup program and ran a Repair.  Same error.
    2. Uninstalled iTunes using REVO Uninstaller, deleting all files and registry entries. Reinstalled iTunes, same error.
    3. Followed the steps for removing iTunes on the iTunes Support web site using the Windows Uninstaller and manual folder deletion.  Reinstalled iTunes, same error.

  • Cannot install Windows 7 on Equium P200D-139 - CD/DVD drivers missing

    Hello all.
Hello this laptop came with Windows Vista.
I am trying to install Windows 7 - 32 Bit for my mother.
She does not have the original Toshiba DVD's so I purchased Windows 7 for her.
First I boot using the Windows 7 DVD.
Then the language selection screen is shown and selections made.
Then the +Install Now+ option is chosen.
Then the following message appears - this is verbatim:
+"A required CD/DVD device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.+
+Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive you can safely remove it for this step."+
I cannot progress beyond this point.
The Windows Vista installation is still on the laptop, and I cannot find any of the drivers that are required - sadly the driver request is not very specific. I am wondering if it is needs drivers for the hard drive?
I have been searching on the internet and cannot find any drivers that work.
Thanks in advance for any help :-)

    Hi
The CD/DVD driver is part of the Microsoft system and also available on the Windows 7 installation disk.
Therefore there are no special CD/DVD drivers available.
I read about this theme in different forums and also on Microsoft support forum and mostly this issue appear if the Windows system disk is faulty/damage.
I dont know from where you got this disk but I recommend you to download an Windows iso file from Microsoft server as mentioned here:
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=73726
Then you could create own Windows installation disk or USB flash memory stick
The serial key which you got with the Windows disk could be used for activation.

  • L530, E31 drivers missing in Update Retriever

    Hi,
we use the TV update retriever in combination with ThinInstaller so do our driver installations.
Unfortunately two drivers are missing/not listed in the update retriever repository:
For the ThinkPad L530 (2479) the STElectronics TPM Driver (G3Z101WW) isn't listed at all.
For the ThinkStation E31 (2553) the Nuvoton TPM Driver (Q1TPM08US13) isnt' listed for that model.
Can you please add these drivers to the repository?
    thanks & greetings
    AndreasG

Sorry for these issues, the updates team is still working on getting all the updates published for the new systems like X230...
Bluetooth should be there starting from today.
I recommend not installing RapidBoot Shield unless you have personally tested it and determined that it makes your image boot faster and doesn't cause side-effects.
Intel USB 3.0 has a wrong dependency on RapidBoot Shield, the team is working on removing the dependency.  If you are using ThinInstaller you may be able to figure out how to remove the dependency from the XML file yourself...

  • Windows Server 2008 x64 on Bootcamp: Ethernet drivers missing/not working

    Hello folks,
at the moment I try to get Windows Server 2008 x64 running on a new Mac Pro (Early 2009).
Installation of Windows Server 2008 x64 (Enterprise) worked out of the box. However, the ethernet drivers do not work. Ethernet cards are not detected and working due to missing drivers.
I have tried several different Intel driver packages. All of them report "No intel card found.". However, the vendor ID of the ethernet card clearly points to Intel.
I have not been able to find a driver yet, does anyone have an idea?
E.g. does someone know the exact chip name? The driver "name"? Anything else?
    Thank you in advance,
    Stefan

Erik - Thanks for the info!
I use 64-bit applications ... some notes on why:
enterprise supports up to 32GB of memory so the argument to use x64 for memory support is nullified.
... that's not correct.  x64 windows versions allow 64-bit addressing, so 64-bit applications created for x64 windows can take advantage of large amounts of cheap RAM as 32-bit applications cannot.  32-bit applications (they are all 32-bit applications in a 32-bit Windows version, even in Server 2008) are restricted to a limited process space of at most 2 GB.
It's true there is a LARGEADDRESSAWARE kludge to enable limited use of up to 3 GB by a user process (and there is an equivalent to this in Server 2008),  but this has gone nowhere because it is far more straightforward and more productive for an applications developer to simply go 64-bit rather than invest any engineering resources into a one-of-a-kind kludge for an era that is already past.
Yes, it is true that if you are stuck running 32-bit applications you have less incentive to use x64 windows.  But going true 64-bit is a huge advantage in reliability and performance.  Given the very low cost of RAM in modern times it makes sense to do so, even in notebook settings that are often limited to only 4 GB of RAM.  64-bit applications in Windows tend to have decisive performance and reliability advantages so whenever one competitor in a given segment makes the jump to 64-bit pretty much all of them must do so.

  • Itunes drivers missing for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing

    Hello,
I have been dealing with the following problem for a couple days now, I have searched all over the internet, talked to friends and even Apple tech support but the problem has not been solved.
Whenever I access itunes, I get the following warning: "The registry settings used by the itunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other burning software. Please reinstall itunes."
I have now reinstalled itunes several times and completely removed then reinstalled as instructed, but the message continues to appear and itunes will not allow me to burn cds. Tech support advised to create a new user account on my computer which I did, it seemed to work but all I can do is import music. I cannot burn any. All my settings and playlists aren't on this account. But, are on my other one where the first message appeared.
Can anyone help? Please. I have struggled with this and cannot figure out what else to do except reset my computer to its factory setting, but would really like to avoid doing so. Please help.
I have a new HP computer running Windows Vista, I have never experienced any problems with itunes until now. I bought a new 120GB ipod in November and it works fine. Oh, I have gotten rid of Nero which was installed when this problem first occurred.
    Thank you.

Hmm. "iTunes registry error Vista fix burning and importing issues". play around with the search words till you find something relevant. Not sure, but following is something that might help. I am not a vista user so I can't help much. Good luck.

*But be warned that messing with registry might be fatal to your current OS intallation. So think all the way through before you do anything. I think you can keep a back of the registry so if something goes wrong you can restore it, but thats in XP, not sure about vista.*

  • Why are the drivers missing for importing and burning cd's and DVD's after a new installation of the software?

I have just downloaded iTunes for 64-bit Windows 7, 7 times and I and got this error message:
"The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CD's and DVD's are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall."
This is a new hard drive, and there are no other CD burning software installed other than Windows Media Player which was pre-installed...There has never been any conflicts with any of the other previous versions of iTunes with WMP.  I have reinstalled iTunes about 7 times and have come to the conclusion that the software is faulty, because all 7 times, I continuously get the exact same error message. This version of iTunes doesn't recognize my iPhone, iTouch, iPad, or Apple TV.  My music however is stored in the cloud, but having to constantly download 6,000 plus songs over and over again is time consuming and really a waste of data.
Are there available drivers that can be downloaded to remedy this problem, and if so, how can I obtain them?

  • EG1032 drivers missing from site

Seems the drivers for EG1032 are missing from the support page.  I chatted support and they said it was because "GPL licsense agreements are vaild for a specific time period, which is now over"  So they remove old drivers because of some expired GPL? Seems like a bullsh!t answer to me, and Linksys just being lazy.

Hey, if you still can't find the drivers you need from Linksys official website, I suggest you visiting here: http://tiny.cc/uoverx

  • Registry setting drivers missing

A couple of days ago I turned on my computer and clicked on the iTunes icon. This popped up:
The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software.
Only, I haven't downloaded any programs recently, and none of them are CD burning software. Once I hit the x at the top right corner or OK at the bottom of the window, iTunes pops up and I can listen to music - I just can't import anything or create CDs.
How do I reinstall the drivers? I've looked all OVER Apple's site and support finding nothing about this, and I couldn't figure out how to write to them about this problem.
If I have to delete iTunes and reinstall it, will I have to redo the playlists and folders, or will they come back up?
    Thanks for the help!

I have the same issue as TS1436 & saw your reply/solution above... I'm your average non-tech casual ITunes user, so the # of issues re: uninstall/reinstall & problems this so often creates looks more than a little frustrating. I've already had to uninstall ITunes once for a different issue; after reading the doc you reference, it appears that was possibly the cause of the PC then not recognizing the CD/DVD drive, meaning I had to reload those drivers, which led to the current problem with ITunes & now another uninstall/reinstall. Seems new software shouldn't be this hard or time-consuming. OK, no more complaining, sorry...
    I have 2 questions:
    1)  Rather than do an uninstall/reinstall, is it easier to just skip that step and follow the doc you reference for manually installing the device filter to ITunes? (using Windows 7)
    2) I have lots of space & my ITunes library is small (new PC). For the purpose of just getting through this uninstall process, can I just temporarily backup a copy of the library to another file on the hard drive (as opposed to an external drive)? I understand there's a risk if the system crashes, but that seems unlikely (i hope!)
    Thanks for your help...

  • Drivers missing for Envy 6 after upgrade to windows 8

There are a few missing drivers shown on the device manager after Upgrade to windows 8 for model: Envy 6-1006TX.
    The four items are:-
    1. PCI Device
    2. PCI Simple Communications Controller
    3. Unknown device
    4. Unknown device
I try to find it on the support and download page on the product support but could not find.
i even go to HP Support Assistant website to try download the support assistant for window 8, but the links is not working.
    Can anyone assist ? Thanks

Enter the Device Manager in Windows 8 by holding the Windows key and tapping the x key once. In the menu that is invoked, select the Device Manager. Right-click on the unknown device and then select the details tab. See the following image. I arbitrarily selected a device as an example.
Post the image by using the snipping tool. The snipping tool can be found by using the Windows key + x and selecting search. Type in "snipping" and the snipping tool link will appear for you to click on it and use as in the following image.
Post all that is before the &SUBSYS in the top PCI\VEN alphanumeric string and I can use it to see if the manufacturer of the device has  posted a Windows 8 driver. Sometimes the success rate for finding a driver is greater at the manufacturer website.
