CD/DVD template Adobe Elements 8

Whenever I want to print on a full face printable CD or DVD I use Photoshop Elements to create the design.  To ensure that everything is kept within the outer and inner diameters of the DVD (e.g. to avoid the central hole from being near a person's face!), I suspend a piece of thin glass in front of my computer screen, on which I've drawn around an old DVD disk, I then create my design looking through the glass.
Instead of using this rather cumbersome way of doing it, I believe it is possible to create the same sort of transparent image template in Photoshop Elements.   I have tried to work out how to do this without success and the Photoshop Elements manual (page 7) only tells what you CAN do, but not the actual procedure as shown below right.
Could someone please tell me how to do it.
Thank you.

  • Premiere Elements Quits After Using DVD Template

I have been using Adobe Premiere Elements 10 for a few months while working on a project.  I finally finished and when dragging over the DVD template, the program just quits due to a "serious error."  I am very frustrated.

After you have responded to SG's questions, I have a few to ask.
What specific DVD Template theme are you trying to use in your Premiere Elements 10 project?
    When you wrote
The program will just crash as soon as i try to drag dvd template into a project
Can we assume that you were using your mouse cursor to drag from the DVD Template thumbnail to the left into the Disc Menu window? If so, what happens if instead you click on the thumbnail to select it and then hit Apply. Same crash problem? In between tries to apply menu, are you hitting AutoPlay to get rid of the prior try before you try again?
How many Timeline menu markers do you have on your Timeline - main menu markers, scene markers, and stop markers?
How about taking a look at deleting the Premiere Elements 12 settings file...

  • How do I use itune music for creating photo DVDs with music in adobe element 10?

How do I use/transfer itune music for DVDs with music in adobe elements premier?

    On each computer:
Open iTunes. Select Preferences from the iTunes menu and click on the Advanced icon in the toolbar. At the top you will see a box showing the path to your iTunes library. Click on the Change button, navigate to the location for the library on your external drive, select it and click on the Open button. Note this permanently changes the library's location on that computer. That means you cannot access your music unless the external drive is connected.
If you don't want a permanent change, then press the OPTION key and hold it down while you launch iTunes. iTunes will then prompt you to select the library you wish to open for that session.

  • How can I edit a DVD Template for Premiere Elements 10?

In previous versions of Premiere Elements, I would edit DVD Templates using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements to include my logo and change the color or tint of the background. Now, I can only see the Fun template in the DVD Templates folder. I want to modify the Extreme Sports template, but can't find it now. Where are all the other templates located?

Install the excellent 'Search Everything' utility and enter 'extreme' as a search term. Note that when you first run 'Everything' it takes time to index your drive(s). After that though it is a nearly instantaneous start.

  • Blank DVD Template in Prem. Elements for Mac

Years ago when I was a Windows user I LOVED using Premiere Elements to import and edit home videos. The editing, chaptering etc was so easy and I I was really happy with the final product. One thing I really liked was when I created the DVD menus etc I had access to a blank DVD template so I could use my own background picture etc. I never cared much for the "themes". Is there a way with the new prem elements for MAC to have a blank DVD template?

As usual and as I remember you to be you are so helpful! What I would like is to have to custom templates. The first would be just a generic background where I could insert my own picture. I don't use video link boxes or anything so I prefer the links to the "menu markers" to be just text. For instance, say I am making a DVD of a theatre performance. I would like a general "play all" button that will play the entire performance. I would also use a "Act 1" button and a "Act 2 button". I do chapter each scene but to avoid having 10 pages of "scenes" I'd prefer the "scenes" to not be accessible from the main menu. Most every DVD from theatre to concerts to home movies I do like this. I only like to have one main menu menu. No submenus. I used to have 1 custom template that did that. The second one would be exactly the same but would offer a "scenes" button in the instance I did want to add a "scene" menu as well. I really, really hope this makes sense.....
And I don't want to come across as crazy, but when I installed the demo on PE9 on my mac, I only have one template called "fun" and I can't change the background image. There is a little dropbox within the menu that I can add a video or pic, but that's only a small hole in the template, the rest of the background I can't change. I'd be happy to take a screen cap if I am not describing it correctly...
Short story long, it sounds like Steve both templates you said are for free on your site will do what I am needing to do. How do I go about downloading them?

  • Adobe elements 12 unable create blu ray dvd

I purchased a new computer in October of 2013.  The computer has Windows 8.1, Adobe Premier Elements 12, and an LG (BH16NS40) 16x Blu Ray DVD writer.   The sole purpose of the purchase was to be able to transfer my Sony handycam HD home videos to Blu Ray DVDs.  I was told, this purchase would enable me to do so.  A week later, in October of '13, the 'Best Buy' Geek squad after spending hours on the problem, still could not get the home video to transfer to a Blu ray dvd.  They told me to wait for an Adobe patch/upgrade.  Here I am 6 months later, updated all software & drivers, and I am still getting the "Blu ray dvd media not found" message.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The camcorder video came from a sony hdr-cx560.  The video was moved from the camera, to a external hard drive, then to the computer internal c drive, and was successfully imported into an adobe elements project.
I was not able, and am not able to import the video directly from the camera.  My twin 16 year old daughter was killed in an auto accident 10 months ago... and there is fault in three other drivers.  Our legal team took our camera, needing our 1 1/2 year family sony video, for the lawsuit.  They returned the camera empty, but gave us an external hard drive with the video.  I had told them how valuable the video was to us...our only remaining video of the last year and 1/2 of my daughter.  Nonetheless, they copied the video to a hard drive, gave us the hard drive, and returned the camera empty....more stress.
Several months later (Oct 13), my father, a huge fan of adobe premier elements, best buy, and the geek squad, bought us a new computer, with adobe premier elements 12, and a blu ray burner, determined to produce the videos my family ached for.  Like many families, all i want is to be able to film my family in high definition, and play it back from a disc on family televisions without using the camera...just like i used to be able to do with standard definition.
I do not understand your second question, and would like phone assistance.  Please provide a phone number for assistance with this problem.  With a very heavy, exhausted, and frustrated heart, tom

  • No DVD templates in Premiere Elements 2

I have been using PE2 with good results for a couple of years now on my old PC but recently upgraded my hardware and transferred PE2 onto my new machine (still running XP Pro as did my old PC). In my latest project, the first on this machine, I came to the stage of adding DVD menus today and found that the themes drop-down box was empty.
Had a problem installing a new codec a few days ago and used system restore. Somehow, I ended up with 2 copies of PE2 there at the same time and I wonder if this may have done something nasty to PE2.
Anyway, I have uninstalled and re-installed PE2 but still no joy. I can see the DVD templates in the PE2 folders but PE2 can't seem to see them.
    Can anyone help please?
    E.

Well I think I've now solved this one, though I've no idea how it came about.
I fired up my old PC, which, fortunately, I haven't cleared off the old stuff yet and looked at the PE2 file structure. Whereas, on the old PC the template theme folders were in a folder called en_US inside the DVD templates folder, on the new PC, the theme folders were directly in the DVD templates folder.
I created the en_US folder, moved the theme folders over and, hey presto, they appeared in PE2.
Very odd! How is this possible?
Anyway, it looks like the problem is now solved but thanks anyway.
    E.

  • Where is my serial number please, I have adobe elements 13 dvd bought from amazon?

can any one help me find my serial number for adobe elements 13?

    Try:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html
However, it's pretty common to get a redemption code that you use to get a serial number. That may be in your amazon receipt or in an email from them.

  • Adobe Elements 12 not recognizing DVD drive, Help please!!

In my Adobe Elements 12 for some reason when I go to burn, it saying no burners detected. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how can it be fixed. Thank you so much in advance.

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? Have you updated from 12 to 12.1 using an opened project's Help Menu/Update? Please do so.
Assuming a Windows compute for now.
Is this "no burner found" situation described as "it never worked before" or "it worked before but not now"?
If it has worked before, then I would ask
    1. Do you have iTunes on your computer? Have you recently updated it?
If so, you might consider uninstalling both Premiere Elements 12 and iTunes, and then reinstalling only Premiere Elements 12. I would go through the scenario
    1. Uninstall Premiere Elements 12 and iTunes via Control Panel
    2. Do a ccleaner run through (regular and registry parts)
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
    3. Reinstall of Premiere Elements 12 only.
We will be watching for your results.
    Thank you.

  • Making episode based DVD in Premiere Elements?

Sorry, but this isn't a Photoshop Elements question, but there's no Premiere Elements section.
I notice all the DVD templates are for movies, that is they have a play movie button that plays ALL scenes, and then a scene menu separate scene menue that allows you to start the movie from specific scenes.
I want a way of making an episode based DVD, where there is no single play button on the main menu, nor is there a scene menu, but intead is a series of buttons on the main menu each of which plays a separate video, and each video played stops at the end of that video, and does not procede to play any of the others. I would actually like to make it replay a given video when it gets to the end (allowing for indefinite running of a particular video), instead of stopping and going back to the main menu.
If it is possible to do this in Adobe Premiere Elements, please let me know. Thanks.

Thanks guys for your help. However I discovered that I don't need to buy new software to accomplish this. I found that there a powerful customization technique I can use for fully editing the DVD menus in an Adobe Premier Elements DVD menu template/preset.
I discovered that the DVD menu templates, while not editable in Premiere Elements, can in fact be edited in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, as they are just PSD files. The names of the buttons are layer groups and the specific naming conventions of the layers tell Premiere Elements how to handle them. For example, any button who's graphics are in a layer group who's name starts with "(+^)" is a button that takes you back to the first page of the Main Menu (the quotes aren't actually part of the layer name, so remember when customizing the buttons in Photoshop, to not use those quotes, I just used them to demark the text that appears in the layer name). Any layer group with a name that starts with "(+*)" corresponds to a button that starts playing a video at a Main Menu Marker on the timeline. Any layer group who's name starts with "(+-)" corresponds to a button that causes playing of the movie starting at the first frame (and removal of this makes the DVD behave just like a DVD with a series of TV episodes). Any layer group who's name starts with "(++)" corresponds to a button that goes to the scenes menu (which of course contains buttons that start playing a movie starting at a Scene Marker. And "(+>)" and "(+<)" correspond to buttons on the main menu that navigate go forward and backward through pages of the main menu (or if they appear in the Scenes Menu then they navigate forward and backward through pages of the scenes menu).

  • PSE 10 Can't edit read-only layer groups (a.k.a.  I just want to make a custom DVD menu in Elements)

A little background: I wanted to make a custom menu so I opened a copy of one of the canned menu.PSD files in PS Elements 10.  It opened up with all layers and their sublayers showing.  So far, so good.  I did a bunch of editting and had my menu just about right, saved it and burned a DVD with it.  I saw some corrections that I needed to make so I opened the same .PSD file and it showed all the main layers (with the folder icon) but not the attached layers.
I double-clicked to open these layers and got:
"You are attempting to open a group, which is not supported in Photoshop Elements.  The layers in this group will be simplified into a single layer.  Simplify the layers? Yes No."
I was just editing these things the day before yesterday.  All I've done since then is register my software online. I have seen it stated in this forum that "Elements doesn't support layer group/sets" but it was referring to an earlier version I'm guessing.
Question 1:  Is this still true of PSE 10?
Question 2:  If so, how was I editing them the other day?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
    Joe

If you haven't uninstalled premiere elements then it should work, but there are a few things that will not work when editing the dvd templates:
(it only works on certain dvd templates and only on a machine with premiere elements installed)
*If you change the document dimensions either larger or smaller. (not the size of the elements in the template but the overall size such as using
    Image>Resize>Image Size or Canvas Size)
*If you delete any of the layer groups
*Changing the name of the document
There are probably other causes and they may know more on the premiere elements forum:

Please explain what the Elements Organizer has to do with all this. Are you trying to get Sound Effects and Movie Menus into the

  • Unknown error 2130906112 while burning DVD in Premiere Elements

Hi am trying to burn a DVD using Premiere Elements 3.0. My computer will go through the lengthy process of attempting to burn the CD. At the very end, the drive pops the DVD out and I get a message that states: Unknown error 2130906112. I have burned successfully in the past, but am unable to now. I have tried to do this about 7 times with this specific project and have had no success. I have used two different types of DVD+R (Memorex and Verbatim). My project is approximately 56 minutes long. Any help and/or advice is greatly appreciated!!!!

    Great news!
I just can't see which is highlighted while doing so. I think it has to do with the template I chose in Premiere Elements while designing the movie.
The lack of the Sub-picture Highlights (the official name for the indicators of which Button one has navigated to), could be caused by several things:
1.) the inability of the PS3 to adequately display them. Like I said earlier, most people, that I know, use the PS3's for BD playing. The specs. are different for those, as opposed to the DVD-specs. I just do not know about the PS3.
2.) could be a problem with the Template. Which one did you choose? I'll be glad to check it out (if PrE4 has it) and report any issues that I find. Did you modify this Template, say in Photoshop/PSElements? Could be that one of those modifications turned ON all Sub-picture Highlights.
3.) could be a problem with the "authoring" phase of the Project. This is after the editing, and is where one assembles the Assets (Menus, etc.) and does the navigation. As PrE is semi-automatic, it does most of this for the user, with little intervention. Still, there could be ways to accidently mess something up here, though it's highly unlikely. Now, in my authoring program, all is done by hand, so I have hundreds of opportunities to make a mess of a Project - PrE shields the user from most of these.
    Now, to your questions:
Can I use the Img software for all burning projects including CDs?
Yes. You can do most forms of burning, including CD's (Audio, Video or Data), so long as you have the right types of files.
What is the best way to organize and store my video files?
This is the $64,000 question. So much depends on what one has, how they are likely to need to access them and what equipment they either own, or wish to purchase. I'll give you my scheme, though it might be overkill for you. Still, you can get an idea and are free to adapt any part of it for your needs.
I work with several types of Assets: original (or stock) still images, Captured (stock, or client-supplied) motion, Audio (original, stock or extracted from the previously mentioned motion Assets, Menus (Templates and original creations), Titles (same) and then my Projects.
I keep the originals on both a NAS (Networked Attached Storage) drive that is networked to all of my computers, and also on external storage HDD's. I also back up to DVD-Data discs. For Captured, original Video, I also store all tapes and do NOT overwrite/reuse any. I only work with Copies of any of the Assets (the Captures are probably the exception, as I have the tapes, should I need to re-Capture).
I use several media browsers to organize my Assets. I then locate those necessary for a Project, and create a folder structure for that Project. Copies of the Assets are placed in that folder structure, beneath the Project name. Again - these are Copies, in case something happens.
Depending on what I need to do, the Scratch Disks (set with Edit>Preferences) are usually kept within the Project's folder structure too. Same for Exports. As I use a different program to author DVD's (Adobe Encore), I create my Encore Project within this structure too. The files that I Export from PrPro (my NLE of choice), are the ones that I then Import into Encore for authoring the Project.
When done, I Archive the editing Project and also the Encore Project, to another external drive. I will always make one additional copy of my output DVD as a backup, as I can use ImgBurn, or another utility, to Copy DVD.
After all of this, I can then safely Delete my entire Project folder from the system. Remember, it contains no origianl Assets (other than Captured materail), as I have everything on the NAS, plus an external, plus the backup DVD-Data disc. Right now, I have about 30 1 - 2TB external HDD's that I use. Some are for backup, and some are to allow me to move my Projects between my laptop or my workstation.
Hope that this helps. As I said, it's probably overkill, but much of the work that I do is for clients. If they come back with a change, or a problem, I want to be able to help them immediately.
    Good luck and good questions,
    Hunt

  • How do I get PE 8 to accept Costom DVD templates form PE 4?

Is there any secret to get PE 8 to accept custom DVD templates created and used by PE4?

    Steve,
It didn't work.  All I get when I call up the main menus and scene menus are
blank rectangles, with the proper title names, but they lack a visual
    component.
Here is a brief, but detailed, explanation of what I did prior to PE8.
I created the original customized DVD templates using PE2 and the compatible
Photoshop version.  I took an existing template from PE2 and replaced the
background with a photo that complimented the DVD.  When I saved the
templates, Photoshop created a 'CUSTOM' folder in PE2's DVD templates
folder.  The naming convention was (is) XXX_ntsc_mm.psd and
XXX_ntsc_sm.psd..I was able to use the customized templates for the
appropriated DVDs.  I was able to place the entire 'CUSTOM' folder into PE4
when I upgraded to that version of Premier Elements.  I was able to display
and use the newly placed custom templates and they worked without any
    problem.
I placed the 'CUSTOM' folder in C:\PROGRAM FILES\ADOBE\PREMIER ELEMENTS
8.0\DVD TEMPLATES\COMMON\GENERAL\CUSTOM .  There are several other template
files in the COMMON\GENERAL folders.  When I viewed the other template
folders, I noticed that most of the other templates had a .PSD suffix.  When
I try to use the 'CUSTOM' folder in the menu portion of PE8, I can find the
folder by name (CUSTOM), but then I look for any visual, all I get is a set
of blank rectangles.  The blanks cannot be dragged to the space intended for
the menu visual.  It almost seems as if I will have to recreate the custom
folder in Photoshop 5, if that one is compatible with PE8.
Does you book go into any level of detail addressing this quirky type of
    situation?
    Thanks for listening,
    Florida Bill
