CD info isn't importing

I tried to import a CD given as a donation gift by a radio station. It looks like an official CD; the CD has the manufacturer's info on it and a warning about unauthorized reproduction but it has no title or artist (Cheb i Sabbah, Devotions). This info is on the box, though. Since iTunes sells a download of this album, the CD info should be in Gracenotes, but this is greyed out. Maybe they made a certain number of copies just for this donation. Is there any way to enter the info into iTunes?

Great--thanks!! I looked in several places for this info but obviously not in the right places. I really appreciate your help.

Lightroom 4.4 crashed on Windows 7 Laptop today, lost catalog info, won't import half my images.
Not only is LR messed up, it deleted my day's shooting. Can't believe that.
Now it won't import (i.e. re-import) half my files.
Imported half, but had errors importing rest.
    Corrupt catalog?
When I try to import the folders, it recognizes that they are in the catalog (I have "don't import duplicates" turned on).
After running through all the folders, it says, "Nothing to Import."
    Any help?
    Best,

    Thanks dj_paige.
I installed a plugin, coincidence makes me thinks this might have cause a LR4.4 crash.
After rebooting my windows 7 laptop, LR had lost record of half my directories on the external drive, as seen in Library Module.
In Windows Explorer, the folders and images are still there.
I tried recovering the lost folder references in LR by doing an import on the external hard drive again.
It took about a half hour to run.
There was a report screen at the end of the process that said that LR was unable to import something like 1500 images.
I did not save the report screen. Maybe it is part of a log file somewhere to give you what it exactly said?
I do not profess to understand how catalogues work under the covers.
I only use one catalog at this point.
My guess is at this point I should de-commission the catalog (whatever it takes to do that - delete it, etc.) and just do a new, fresh import on my images.
I don't feel I lose anthing this way - I can't see where I would lose anything important. About 5-10% of the RAW images were processed and exported to jpg, just for web use for casual viewing. The jpg's are all still on the external hard drive.
    Any suggestions are appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Peter

Aperture isn't importing videos from iPhone, only photos. I've tried plugged in and over wifi. Help?

How did you transfer the photos from your other iPhone? If you did it by importing them from the old phone to a computer and then used iTunes to sync them back to the new phone, then you would delete them by syncing again using iTunes but this time change the selection of which photos are to be synced. Each time you sync using iTunes, it sets the non-Camera Roll photos on the phone to match the current settings/selection in iTunes.

My Macbook pro is syncing (I don't know how really!) with my iMac automatically and I don't know how it is.
The info it's importing is wrong. What is going on?

It's syncing my iCal calenders. But it's putting different calendars information into other calendars. I look at my calendars basically color coded and the same multiple informaion is in wrong calendars. Understand?

  • My source audio isn't importing. Any ideas for how to fix?

The audio is there. I've watched it in VLC, and the audio is there. Whenever I import the footage, though, it goes missing. Any ideas for how to fix it?

    Welcome to the forum.
First, more information would be useful. See this FAQ Entry for what info will help: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/961741?tstart=0
Also, when you Import your AV file, do you allow PrPro time to Conform the Audio portion? For more info on Conforming, Indexing and PEK file creation, see this article: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3892177#3892177

  • Displaying Exif info at the import screen

Is there a way to view exif info of each photo on the LR 4.2 import screen. I'd like to view Exif data before making the decision to import the capture but can't figure out how to do this. Ideally it would appear as a 'tooltip' when hovering over the image in gridview, or, when looking at a single image it using the "I" key should display image info like it does in other modules of LR4. Are there any plugins that could do that?
    Thanks!

I don't think this feature exists.
I believe the philosophy here is import the photos, then use the power of the Library Module if you want EXIF information.

  • Can I retrieve my notes that I accidentally deleted? I noticed that my notes are not clicked "on" under icloud does that mean info isn't saved?

I accidentally deleted the notes from my note app. I sync it again but nothing happened then realized on my phone that notes isn't clicked to "on" under icloud. Is there any way to retrive the info?

If you had activated the option to save notes at some point in the past you might be able to restore from that backup, if it is still listed in iCloud. If you had never selected that option your data is gone, sorry.
How to restore from a backup
When you go through Setup Assistant on a new device using iOS 5 or later, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose from which backup to restore.
If the home screen icons appear on your device and you wish to restore from an iCloud backup, erase your device (by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings). When prompted to set up as new or to restore from previous backup, select Restore from iCloud Backup. Enter your AppleID and password when prompted.

  • Image Detail info display at Import

In lr4.1 before Importing images, I'd like to see more info (camera, lens, focal length, f-stop, exposure time etc.) about the images besides just the file name before making the selection to import.
In the library module I just push the i key and it loops through two sets of info and a non-display. Why can't I do this in the Import module?
    Is this possible?
If yes: how? What options do I set and where?
If no: Is there a plugin to do so or who do I ask to add this to the next release?
    Thx.

The Library has better tools than should ever be in an Import dialog box. So import them, then look at the info. You can easily delete pictures afterwards.

  • My hard drive crashed and purchased music isn't importing

It's shows in iTunes that my music is downloaded, but it actually isn't...how can I either re-import the music or do I get the computer to recognize that the music really isn't there and do the download?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod/iphone.  Without syncing :  File>Transfer Purchases
Make sure you have authorized the computer to your account first.
If you sync contacts and calendars to a blank computer, then they will be erased as well.  Another reason why always maintaining a backup is critical.
You can enter one unique contact and calendar entry on your computer and when you first sync you should get the option to merge.
As soon as you do this, make a backup copy of your computer and maintain it.

  • Adding BPM info' to files imported from original audio CD's. HELP!!!

If you can offer any help, it is MUCH needed & will be much appreciated!
I am in the process of digitising my entire CD collection (100's of them!). I am running iTunes 4 on my iBook G4 (OS 10.3.9). I've worked out how to import & catalogue files - from original audio CD's to iTunes 4 - no problem.
I aim to import all at the highest quality possible (files need to be "broadcast quality" - for playing through a big PA system) & have been advised to import all using the AAC encoder at a stereo bit rate of 320 kbps with a sample rate of 48.000 kHz. If anyone knows of settings for a higher qulaity, please advise.
I am then getting track info (track names, album names etc) in the normal manner (via iTunes data base query). No worries with this, all info has been located & appears to be acurate.... HOWEVER.... no BPM info downloads with the title list? There is a dialogue window in iTunes that should contain BPM info but it is empy!
I really need the BPM info to further catalogue my playlists. How & where do I download this information... or is there a way to get iTunes to calculate BPM's & add it to my existing lists?
As you may have guessed, this info is invaluable to me as I am a DJ. I would be keen to hear from other DJ's out there, who are using iTunes & Traktor 5 (or similar live remix software).
All the best & many thanks - Sweetamix.
    Ibook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

If you want the highest quality, AIFF (lossless uncompressed) or Apple Lossless (lossless compressed) would be the choice.
AAC is a lossy compressed format and won't give you the highest quality, although 320 kbps sounds very good on my audio system (but that's not a PA system).
Audio CDs are 44.100 kHz 16 bit, so importing at 48.000 doesn't make sense to me.
DVD audio often is 20 bit 48.000 kHz.
BPM information is not on Audio CD's. the only BPM's I've got in the library are from my own 'creations' with Garageband and a handful of mp3's.

  • No album info when album imported

I recently updated to itunes 6, when I try to import a cd to itunes, it does retreives the names of songs, album or artist anymore. the pop up which says Cbbd processing comes up but nothing happens.
    Can anyone help me out?

The first thing to check is to make sure that you are connected to the internet. When you try to import iTunes goes online to look up the info in an online database.
A second possibility is that it may not find the particular CD. In my experience it finds some data for most CD's (especially popular/big selling CD's) but there are certain CDs for which it has no information. If you are connected to the internet but it doesn't find a particular CD, try a couple others and see if it is just that CD or if it won't find info for any CDs.
Let us know how if you still have problems.

  • ITunes 11.0.2 isn't importing album and track titles

This just started yesterday.  The past 3 CDs I've tried to import have no information.
I get: The song names for this CD could not be found online. Do you still want to import the songs?
I'm online, my computer stays networked.
This just started, so none of my settings have been changed.
More than one CD is effected, different artists and companies make the CDs
    What could be the issue?

I'm having the same issue on a PC (I'll post it in the relevant thread next). I am getting this message whilst trying to import various CDs, all of which are well know commerical artists. I am connected to the Internet, so that is not an issue. I have previously imported them to a different computer with no issues getting the track names. Yesterday some CDs listed track names (oddly one double CD didn't recognise names for Disc 2, but did for Disc 1), but today none have listed the track names.
It's very frustrating as entering the names of the songs is quite time consuming (not to mention the album and artist name for each album).

  • Iphoto isn't importing video's from my iphone 3GS

I've taken pictures and recorded videos on my iphone. When I connect it to my imac G5 running Leopard, iphoto opens up as expected and I'm able to import the contents of my phone. However, only the pictures get imported, not the videos. I'm thinking maybe I have an older version of iphoto (version 4.0.3) that doesn't recognise videos, or I read somewhere that it might be something to do with the fact I'd previously been using an ipod touch and my computer is confusing the two and not looking for videos.
    Over to you.

I found a way to get video's in my Camera Roll on the iPhone 3GS. my phone is NOT jailbreaked !
First i installed the app on my mac called, Disk Aid
(make sure you have latest version so it works with OS 3.0.1 or later)
this app makes it possible to enter your iPhone trough USB.
(you can browse only Media Folder or Disk Aid Folder)
when it does, go to Media Folder>DCIM , the place all your Camera photo's and video's are stored.
now you only have to drag your photo's or video's to that place. Make sure you have them named the same as the other photo's in that map. example: IMG_0009.JPG for video: IMG_0034.MOV
for a video make sure you have them converted right!
(QuickTime Pro or other 3rd party software)
    codecs: H.264, AAC
    colorprofile: SD (6-1-6)
    That's all, have fun!

  • Clip info lost on import

I'm shooting XDCAM EX 720p50 footage with EX1R.
I've been trimming the inevitable rubbish from the beginning and end of my clips as well as adding notes and changing the Index Picture with Sony Clip Browser but when I import to FCP with Log and Transfer, there are no notes and even the index thumbnail is lost.
    Am I missing something?
If I can't import this data, what's the point of doing it with Clip Browser?

what's the point of doing it with Clip Browser?
    Indeed.
