Cd not showing up in itunes

i insert my cd into the drive and usually something comes up in itunes that says "would you like to import these songs into your library" and nothing is coming up like the cd isn't even in there. can someone help me?

Check your iTunes preferences. In the preferences menu click on the Advanced tab and verify your import settings. There is an option that allows you to customize the behavior of iTunes when inserting a CD.

They do not show up anywhere for me. They do not remove from the app like the ones I downloaded directly onto my iphone.the related archived article does not answer it either. I even asked a guy working at an apple store and he could not help either. Anybody...?

there is an app called daisydisk on mac app store which will help you see exactly where the memory is focused and consumed try using that app and see which folders are using more memory

I just updated to the newest version of ITunes well, not just but a few days ago. Anyway I have windows 8, and in ITunes my Ipod 5th gen will not show up. I have tried somethings such as unpluging repluging, going to services and restarting, basiclly everything on yoyutube, none still work. It's ***** to cause I just wanted to put music on my Ipod, if anyone has an idea of what to do please give some suggestions.

1. Try the iPod troubleshooting assistant:

4. Empty your Temp directory and restart

I am trying to synch my i5s to iTunes on a new PC running Windows 7 and after synching, the existing playlists on my i5s do not show up in iTunes. All the songs are there but not the playlists. How can I fix this?

Thank you. You were right. They all ended up being there and I copied them to the new computer and used the restore option etc. But now I have a new problem.

My library will not show up in Itunes after moving library

I moved my library folder from my C drive (my primary drive) to my D drive because I was running out of space on my C drive. I did this through My Computer and not through iTunes. Then, my library does not show up in iTunes.
I moved the folder back to my C drive and everything, but to no avail. I read the tutorial on the Apple website called "Moving your iTunes folder," and I read the first 1,000 or so posts and nothing really solved my problem. There were other posts that were sort of related, but my case differs in that I moved the folder back to the same place it was before and nothing showed up.
This happened before, and I was able to fix it. I thought I did the same thing again, but apparently not, since it's still not showing up. I tried every imaginable thing. I looked at under preferences, advanced, and then made sure the iTunes music folder was the same as the one I had my files in. Still, nothing is showing up. I know where my files are and everything, but iTunes acts like no files were even imported.
I have tried importing songs into iTunes, but it doesn't show up on iTunes, so that rules out importing my files again.
Please help me. I really am at a loss of what to do. Thanks so much!

finally somebody with the same problem! i bought a new external drive because i was running out of space and backed up my entire library. then my computer crashed and i wanted to take advantage of a clean drive and not add my whole library back onto my computer. i'd love to be able to access my music folder on the external and have that show up as my library on iTunes when connected...
i followed all the steps as closely as possible and am pretty confident that my advanced preferences in iTunes are correct, but the library does not show these songs from the external drive. have you had any feedback or figured it out on your own?! i hope so, i'm at a deadend.

I've run diagnostics. Can't find device. I've tried resetting. The toggle has been turned on and off.

Cable works fine on my other iPod. Reset by pressing menu and center button together for 6-10 seconds. Left it to charge for many hours. Started acting up while running. Suddenly the music stopped playing but my Nike + was still working for the rest of my run. Took it straight it home and plugged it in to the wall to recharge since the battery was fairly low. Looked like it recharged ok but then screen went blank and now does it not show up on iTunes, does not seem to recharge by the wall charger (apple wall charger plugged into a surge protector in India). I have turned the hold switch off and on many times.
Sounds like a repair issue, which is not easy to do in India :(
