CD not viewable in iTunes

I am trying to import a CD to my computer using the latest 64 bit version of iTunes however the program does not even recognize the CD. When I put the cd into my computer, nothing happens even though I have it set to ask me to import the cd (the iTunes windows doesn't open with the contents of the cd either). When I hit play on the CD in windows, the operating system switches over to iTunes but nothing happens. I tried reinstalling iTunes, resetting the system defaults for playback and autoplay, and the error correct thing in the iTunes settings. I tried the cd in both of my drives, checked the drivers for the drives, and ran the cd diagnostic program in iTunes and it recognized the drives and said that they were fine. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be or any possible solutions? Thanks.

I'm having this same problem with a regular CD.

Why are lyrics not viewable in itunes in the same way as on the ipod? In itunes all you get is "Get Info" then "Lyrics" and that screen then locks itunes until you close it. Inflexible, annoying and surely unnecessary?

All songs need Album, Artist and title.
Also, look under Artist -> Compilations.

  • ICloud purchases not viewable in iTunes 12

So - I feel pretty dumb not being able to solve a simple UI change, but this is driving me nuts. Any help would be appreciated.
    Normally in iTunes, it's Menubar>view>Show iCloud purchases....yes?
I cannot figure out how to get my iCloud purchases to be seen in my library. I've tried everything....even system preferences....I'm either missing something...or...they got rid of the option? Seems like a strange thing to do away with. I would rather not have to dive deep into iTunes store menus overtime I want to download one of my purchases.
This is iTunes 12.0.1.26 on OS X Yosemite 10.10

    Hello there, dbaerg.
The following link to the online iTunes User Guide seems to provide an answer for how to show your iCloud purchases in the latest version of iTunes:
iTunes Store preferences - iTunes Help
Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases
Display items purchased from the iTunes Store that haven’t been downloaded to your computer. These items have a Download button next to them.

  • Voice memos on new iphone 5 not viewable in itunes

Having a problem with my voice memos,  I can see all of my memos on the iphone 5 itself, old and new. But when I go into phones-voicememos menu in itunes, the only memos I see are the once that got synced to the ipnone 5 from my iphone 4 backup, I cant see any of the memos Ive recorded with the 5. Any one have any thoughts? Cloud is off and I do all my syncing thru my pc.

You should have received a message saying your phone was detected in recovery mode and needed to be restored when you connected it to iTunes.
Try putting it in DFU mode to restore it, as explained here: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034.

  • Videos playing but not viewable... Quicktime?

Any iTunes videos I have are suddenly not viewable (the screen has lines throuigh it and multi-colors). The audio is fine.
I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling QuickTime to no avail. Now I'm wondering if I need to uninstall iTunes and Quicktime and then reinstall.
My question: since all of my music is on my iPod, when I plug it back into the computer after the reinstall, will it automatically transfer my library back to iTunes on my computer?
    Thanks!

Uninstalling & reinstalling iTunes shouldn't affect your actual music & video files.
Make a backup of your itunes library.itl file before you begin, though - the 2 files mentioned here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93732
Put them on a USB drive or just somewhere else on your C: drive.
But anyway - as for the video problem, have you seen this article?

  • 20 GB Ipod Problem - Not viewable in Windows and wont start

Hello all, wondering if you can help me with this Ipod problem i have.
    1) Ipod turns on and displays folder with exclamation mark.
    2) Ipod is not viewable in my computer
1 - I have tried a reset and putting into disk mode, which goes through fine, but it still starts with the above error.
2 - I can sometimes view the Ipod in My Computer and or disk management, but can not go into it or format it. Diskj manager reports it as un-readable.
If i try to run Ipod update/restore application it asks me to plug in an Ipod.
Any ideas on what else i can do? I thought i could at least get windows to see the device and format it to a standard Fat32, then use the Ipod restore to re-write the folders to use it as a ipod.
    Thanks

    Try this then
The Sad iPods icon, clicking sound or folder with an exclamation mark are the toughest problems to deal with, and must do a Restore in order to fix it. However, when your iPod is showing this icon, it is probably too late for your computer to recognize the iPod.
    1. Try these five steps (known as the five Rs) and it would conquer most iPod issues.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
    2. Try to put the iPod into Disk Mode if it fails to appear on the desktop
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
    Still can't see your iPod?
Several things could keep iPod from appearing in iTunes or in the Desktop/Finder when you connect it to your PC/Mac. The most likely causes are listed below in logical order. Check from the top of the list to see if that is what's keeping iPod from appearing.
    3. Try to wait 30 minutes while iPod is charging.
    4. Try another known-good FireWire or USB through Dock Connector cable.
    5. Try another known-good FireWire or USB port on your computer .
    6. Try to disconnect all devices from your computer's FireWire and USB ports.
    7. Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. We've found that in many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. When the PC user returns to his computer the iPod will be recognized by the PC, reformatted for the PC, and usable again. By the way, it works in reverse too. A Mac user often can get his iPod back by connecting it to a PC and restoring it.
There are also some cases being reported that some unrecognized iPod being able to be erased with Linux, then reconnect the iPod with the original computer and do a Restore there.
    8. Try to do an Erase (Disk Utility) on a Mac computer or a format with a PC (Disk Management tool) but ensure you choose the right Drive (your iPod not your Hard Disk of your computer). You may need to plug and unplug your iPod with the computer for several attempts, and switching around Format and Restore, and hope out of sudden, it will get recognized.
    9. Diagnostic mode solution – which I copied from a thread of a post from thinktwice
“Then I cam across this special Diganostics Mode that you can get to by resetting and then while the Apple is showing pressing the Select and backwards keys simultaneously. It bring up and weird Diagnostic utility witha a abunch of tests. Here is what I did
    - I tried the 5in1 test and got and error on Firewire.
    - I did the HDD R/W and surprisingly it passed.
    - I went on to the HDD scan. This supposedly tkaes acouple of minute so I waited. I think 4-5 dots appeared then nothing. The iPod started to get hot. THe disk was spinning away. After a while the battery got very low. THis test chews up the battery. So I escaped out by resetting and went to connect it to a power source.
My USB was dangling out of my computer and I was too lazy to get the Firewire AC adapter thing going so I connected expecting the whole lockup thing with iTunes. Surprise. IT was recognized immediately and has been working like a champ. So go figure.
Details on Diag mode can be found at http://www.methodshop.com/mp3/ipodsupport/diagnosticmode/index.shtml
    10. Let me ask you a question, if an iPod with no iPod software with it. When your connect it with a computer, what would happen?
Yeah, the computer will treat it as a fresh external hard disk, which will get force mounted, the computer will ask you to format the iPod. It does not really matter the format is completed or not, the key is to erase (or partly) the corrupted iPod software on the iPod, after that the computer will recognize it.
Once it has been completed, eject your iPod, open the iPod updater and interestingly, you will able to do the Restore this time.
Base on the above, that's why I suggest Windows users who experience trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac machine or vice versa. PC computer will not recognize a Mac formatted iPod, but it will get mounted in an attempt to format your iPod.
    11. Put your iPod in disk mode and plug with a computer, and have a boot of your computer using the Mac OS or XP startup disks, hope that your iPod will be seen on Mac's Disk utility and allow you to do a Erase there. Or, under the XP, you will be able to find your iPod there for you to do a Restore.
But, if none of these steps address the issue, your iPod may need to be repaired. You can arrange for service at the iPod Service Website.
I have just read an interesting solution about the Sad iPod, it does make sense but the warranty will be waived once you open the iPod, I would not do it myself as I am not good on doing this

  • MPEG movie not viewable

I have a training video on disc in MPEG format. I also happen to have WMV format but the quality is very poor. I have added the MPEG video to my iTunes library and want to sync it to my iPod. When I do this I get a warning that says the video has NOT been added to the iPod because it is not viewable there. How do I make it viewable and get it on the iPod?

You are correct. On a Mac at least it's right click on the video file(s) and choose "Convert Selection for iPod".
If the MPEG has a muxed Audio and Video track then this will result in the loss of Audio when you try to play it on the iPod/in iTunes. If this is the case convert it before importing to iTunes using a convertor like:

    Hope that helps.

  • I just updated itunes and a LOT of my movies and music disappeared. These are movies and music I owned already and did not purchase from iTunes. How do I find them or do I need to add them all again? Also what happened to the sidebar?

I just updated my iTunes software and have a lot of problems...
    1. The sidebar option is gone. I LIKED the sidebar and it was easier for me to navigate that way.
    2. Also no lists? I hate the icon way to view it. It makes my eyes go wonky and I have a harder time actually looking for what I want.
    3. A LOT of my music and movies have disappeared. These are music and movies I owned that I did NOT purchase from iTunes so I can not re-download them.
How do I find the missing files? Do I have to readd them into iTunes? Is there a way I am not seeing to put thew sidebar back or make the files be viewed in list form? Can I undo this update to put it back the way it was. I hate this update...
