CD Spin Doctor Failure

What configuration is needd to use CD Spin Doctor to import and make a recording of a musical cassette tape? Used amplifier, cassette deck, and audio line in as instructed by CD Spin Doctor Recording Assistant. I was unable to hear or record line in input source.
I'm getting totally frustrated, and disappointed w/ what Apple promotes as a friendly UI.
Has anyone else experienced similar problems, and were able to successfully record a music track from a cassette tape, and burn to a CD or import to an iTunes playlist, and then to an iPod???

Hi, why you think this problem began after you removed Roxio, Is it really problem with roxio? did you tested it ?. if not try to reinstall roxio and see if its problem with roxio.
Because i am also using roxio but i don't see such a file name in my extensions folder.
Try and get back here, it will help us to find the solution. may be you need to completely remove that from your Mac
some tips
01. Application Folder
02. Preference
03. application Support
Try those folders you will find the toast supported files.

  • I accepted a recent update for iTunes and now my version of Spin Doctor can't communicate with it any more. I don't think I can upgrade the Spin Doctor without buying a new program.  Is there a way to undo the last iTunes update?

I accepted a recent update for iTunes and now my version of Spin Doctor can't communicate with iTunes, specifically, I can't get music files to go over to iTunes.  Spin Doctor gives me a message indicating that iTunes isn't working properly.
I am using iTunes 9.1.1(12) and Spin Doctor 3.1.1.304t.  I have investigated upgrading the Spin Doctor but I think too much time has passed and the version available are too far advanced.
Any ideas?  Can I undo the iTunes upgrade?  Is there a website that I can go to to get the upgrade for my Spin Doctor?
    Thanks.
    Mary

If your iMac is an Intel CPU model, you can upgrade the OS to OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
Then use software update to update 10.6 Snow Leopard to OS X 10,6.8.
Then you can run the latest iTunes to sync your iPad running iOS 6
You can purchase OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard by calling Apple at 1-800-MYAPPLE. Ask for retail software sales and purchase a copy of 10.6 for $19.99 plus shipping.

  • Audio capture support won"t install in CD spin doctoris there something I need to know?

How do I install audio capture support? I/m getting an error message: The Installation Failed. Does anyone know of a solutioon?

AFAIK, CD Spin Doctor requires Toast Titanium 9. The latest CE Spin Doctor that works with it is 5.0.4. Once you launch it, the first window that pops up is this.

  • Spin Doctor hangs

After I installed Leopard, Roxio Spin Doctor hangs when I press play to listen to an aiff file. No support from Roxio.... Any ideas? And how can I go back to Tiger, if that's the only way to make Spin Doctor work? Do not know enough about MAC to reinstall Tiger, am afraid I will loose some installed programs or settings....

I left a bug report with Roxio about this issue. Similar problem for Motion Pictures HD. Roxio is aware of the problems. Until this is fixed, you might have to use another audio editor that is compatible.

  • CD Spin Doctor won't work in Mountain Lion

Since upgrading to Mountian Lion I cannot get CD Spin Doctor to work. Are there any solutions, or if not is there some alternative software I can use to import LP's to itunes 11

I went through a multitude of problems with CD Spin Doctor X after upgrading to Lion and subsequently Mountain Lion.  Given the fact that Spin Doctor X does not work with 10.8 I had two solution paths.  One was to partition the hard drive on my Mac mini and put 10.6 on it and use Spin Doctor X that way. The path I chose was to purchase another mac mini on eBay which I got for a steal and use it for Transcription of LPs.  I chose the M-Audio ProFire 610 device to convert my  LPs from analog to digital.  Prpfire 610 is a firewire device and I thought it would solve my problem.  But low and behold Spin Doctor X does not recognize Firewire input signals.  I have an M-audio USB device but my sense is that Spin Doctor X wont recognize that either.  These are serious weaknesses in Roxio Spin Doctor X.  I am not sure Roxio or Corel are the real owners of Spin Doctor X.  It you do an About this Software with Spin Doctor X up you find a reference to Sonic Solutions.  I have ginned up work-around solutions to the limitations of the software.  Staying with older Mac Operatng systems and versions of Spin Doctor X appears to be the only way to go.

  • Can't run Toast 7 Titanium's CD Spin Doctor - please help!

    Hello,
I don't know if I'm posting in the appropriate forum or not, but here goes...
I got a LaCie d2 Dual DVD+/_ RW Drive for Christmas, along with a brand new copy of Roxio's Toast 7 Titanium. I recently installed all the driver software and everything seemed to go well.
However, when I attempted to run the CD Spin Doctor (version 3.0.1), I have run into problems that I cannot explain. I can import audio to my G4 (using my Xitel MD Port I/O USB interface) just fine, but when it comes to editing the waveform, I CAN'T! What I mean is that I can select areas of the waveform, but cannot cut, paste, delete, etc. - anything! Another matter is that at times when I am playing back the file, Spin Doctor will act as it is starting to hang and simply crash.
When I have been using Spin Doctor, I have kept the number of other running applications to a minimum. I have run Disk Warrior and TechTool Pro v 4 to organize my directories and optomize my HD. I'm running OS 10.3.9 which from what I understand is within the requirements for using Spin Doctor. What Gives?
Should I trash the preference file (if there is one) and try again, or uninstall and reinstall the app? Is there something more serious going on? I'd rather not have to upgrade to Tiger at this time or buy another audio editing file, yet checking Roxio's support section offered little in the way of shedding light on the situation. I also downloaded Toast 7.0.2 and tried the updated version of Spin Doctor provided with the toast Update without success.
If anyone else has experienced problems running Spin Doctor, and has found a solution, please let me know. TIA!

I've had similiar crash problems with Toast/Spin Doctor. Installed Toast 7.0 and upgraded to 7.0.2. Spin Doctor crashes all the time, whether trying to simply playback track (LP source input via INport) or trying to add a track or do just about anything else. I have spent 55 minutes on hold with Roxio (no answer), have sent crash reports to Apple (from whose store I bought this application) and have have had no replies. Since it appears Roxio isn't very good on the rebate side, either, guess they don't care about customers. I'm hoping to return this product to the Apple Store where I bought it. This simple application should be a no-brainer to use but I'm tired of doing QA for substandard tech products. GarageBand doesn't quite do what I need to do so I guess I'll have to move up to Final Cut products. Wish Apple would stop selling products whose makers don't provide decent quality, reliability, and support.
    Anybody solve the crash bug?

  • Noises While Listening AIFF Files In Cd Spin Doctor

    Hello everybody:
I`m using Toast 9.0.4 in a Mac Mini Intel Core Duo 1.66 Ghz. 2 Gb Ram. Mac OS 10.4.11
Everytime I capture audio with CD Spin Doctor everything goes fine
but when I begin to listen it appears noises and interruptions.
The funny thing is that the file is completely OK if I listen it in
other applications (iTunes, Digital Performer, Reason even in Toast Titanium)
Thanks in advance for any help.

I didn't know it was also available as a separate download. I don't know however if I should congratulate you with the purchase after your experience.
I did all the steps you did and answered 'Yes' to "replace.. etc".
    This is what happened:
The original file vanished. Not in the Trash or to be found anywhere. Just poof!
Send to iTunes: same error as you experienced.
CD Spin Doctor obviously does not load the entire original file, so when it tries to convert to iTunes, it is looking for the vanished file to get the data from.
The error message however is nonsense.
Toast doesn't react either, however, it is not greyed out.
I'm afraid you ran into 2 serious issues.
In my opinion 'Save Active tracks' should never allow you to overwrite the original file.
I trashed Toast 7 to force Spin Doctor to look for Toast 6, which is still on my HD.
I got this message "This application requires Toast 7 Titanium or later to run on your system. The application will now quit."
Obviously, the bundled version I have, does not work with Toast 6.
If the stand-alone version of CD Spin Doctor really requires Toast 7, you're out of luck.
I went to to website to look for requirements to run Spin Doctor 3 and could not find anything about a required Toast version.
After 'fiddling' around with Toast 6, I got it recognized by Spin Doctor 3 and it worked flawless. If you run into the same trouble with the stand-alone version of Spin doctor 3, I can give you detailed instructions what to do.
So, you have to convert the double-LP of 'The Boss' again. That's a real bummer. If you can't get Toast 6 recognized, let me know.

  • Crash out of Roxio Spin Doctor Ideas please

I am using Roxio Spin Doctor with a Griffin iMic to digitise an audio tape. The track(s) is(are) being saved to a Lacie d2 with a firewire link.
When I edit the single track into Chapters (yes it is a story) the save option is greyed out. I can save to and therefore saved to my desktop to be on the safe side.
When I clicked the Toast icon to transfer the tracks to Roxio Toast, Spin Doctor crashed and I got the usual crash report window inviting me to log a report to Apple + an error message "error 6515"
In case the program did not like the file being on the d2 I tried again by using the desktop copy. Same result.
Dragging the desktop copy in to Toast worked fine but the CD was not separated in to Chapters.
If any one can tell me what I am doing wrong I would be very grateful as I was hoping to provide the CD for a young child over Christmas.

UPDATE: I again uninstalled everything and reinstalled. I did not install the Auto Capture Support feature in Spin Doctor. I was able to successfully record from an internet stream, saved it, and then started another recording. After the second recording I quit Spin Doctor and re-opened it. Now I have the same problem as before: the Auto Capture button does not work and CDSD is not an input option. Back to the same situation as before. I tried quitting both Toast and Spin Doctor and re-opening them but it didn't make a difference.

  • CD Spin Doctor?

I receive thru e-mail some video's sent from friends. These are not long and only last about 2-3 minutes. When I go to open them I get this "CD Spin Doctor" that opens. I think that this is from Roxio. Why does it open when I go to play these video's. Also how can I get rid of it.
    Thanks

You did not mention what type of files they are. It sounds like the file is set to open with CD Spin Doctor. To change the application used for the file do this....
    - Click on the file to select it.
    - Hit Command-I (letter "I") to bring up the info box for the file.
    - Look for "Open with" -- click on the box under "Open with" and choose the application you want to open the file (ie. Quicktime for a video file).
    - Close the info box for the file and try launching it again.
It should now open with Quicktime or whatever app you assigned it to open with.

  • CD Spin Doctor and audio extraction

I am in the middle of a long project transfering all my old vinyl LPs to CD. Now that the CD Spin Doctor software that came with my Toast does not work with OS7, how can I extract audio from my old vinyl? Is there another software package I can use, or is Roxio going to issue an update that works?
Thanks in advance for any hints, tips and advice.

About Audio and movie recording in QuickTime Player
You can make a movie using QuickTime Player and the camera in your Mac by clicking the File menu and choosing New Movie Recording. When the recording interface appears, the FaceTime or iSight camera becomes active (a green light appears by your Mac's built-in camera). Simply press the circular record button once to start or stop your recording.
Clicking the triangle icon gives you additional options, such as letting you choose whether to use the built-in iSight camera an external camera you've connected to your Mac, and lets you adjust the finished quality of your recording.
To make an audio-only recording, simply choose New Audio Recording from the File menu. Press the circular record button once to start or stop your recording. You will notice that the current running file size is displayed on the bottom right of the controls while you're recording; this changes to the total elapsed time when you stop recording. The sound meter (located at the bottom of the controls) makes it easy to ensure your volume level is consistent, and is helpful for making sure you're sitting an appropriate distance from the microphone. About 21 inches of distance between you and the microphone is a good place to start.
Clicking the triangle gives you additional options, such as letting you choose whether to use the built-in microphone on your Mac, an external microphone you've connected to your Mac, a microphone from a connected Apple display, and lets you adjust the finished quality of your recording.
Tip:  Changing the quality from High to Maximum will produce a very high-quality uncompressed movie file. However, uncompressed audio files can use large amounts of disk space.

  • CD Spin doctor overwrites library

I have been successfully using IMic and Roxio CD spin doctor to burn CDs. Yesterday I decided to use the "Send to ITunes" option instead. The recording was imported to itunes but wiped my whole library of hundreds of songs and bought music. Anyone else had this problem?
ibook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   just upgraded Toast to 7.1

Sorry, I meant to say I had been using iMic, CDSpin doctor and exporting to Toast to burn CDs. On this occasion I was unsure of some of the names of tracks (songs my husband was singing on a cassette tape) so I decided to send the recordings temporarily to itunes. That is when the songs overwrote my whole library. I should imagine it created a new music folder.

  • Spin Doctor X and mountain lion

When trying to capture music with Spin Doctor 10 using mountain lion; my iMac shuts down, anybody have that problem. If so please help

Hey! Same situation here, went through every possible resource. Wasted my money on Roxio. I bought the Toast Titanium only for Spin Doctor but it keeps knocking the entire system down.
Very sad to realise that Roxio does not wish to support the product and yet uses it in their marketing campaign for Toast 11.

  • Mac OSX (10.5.6) and CD Spin Doctor

After I installed Mac OSX (10.5.6), Roxio's CD Spin Doctor started to show corrupted and incomplete waveforms. This problem has been reported several times on MacFixIt.com. I'm not sure if there is a fix to it, or who is responsible: Apple or Roxio. Has anyone on this forum experienced the problem, know of a fix, or the status of a fix??

When Apple releases an update, it is up to 3rd party vendors to update their wares to work with the new OS. On rare occasions, Apple releases a fix for a specific item, but in general, Apple's updates are for their own OS, and while they do not ignore other software, their primary mission is to fix/update/improve their own software.
Usually, alert 3rd party SW vendors quickly address any issues created by the update.
i would check with Roxio, a company who has great street creds for an update or at least a workaround. They have always been one of my favorite vendors.
Has anyone on this forum experienced the problem, know of a fix, or the status of a fix??
Have not yet checked out this issue.

  • Problems with Roxio Spin Doctor audio capture

I recently purchased Roxio Toast Titanium 10, which includes Spin Doctor 6 (version 5.0.4). I am trying to use it to capture audio streaming as described in the Spin Doctor User Guide, but continue to have problems. I have repeatedly contacted Roxio with little success. Most recently they had me provide a copy of my System Profiler file and "escalated" the issue. Only result was that I was told to uninstall and reinstall Toast 10. I did that but the problems persist. Here's my report back to Roxio, which explains the problem. I'm wondering if anyone here has encountered this problem or has suggestions on how to proceed.
Bottom line is that I cannot capture streamed audio, as Spin Doctor documentation says I should. I'm guessing this has something to do with the Audio Capture Support program within Spin Doctor, but I can't find out what's wrong.
Here's the description I provided Roxio: +I uninstalled the software and re-installed it per your instructions. Once in Spin Doctor I also installed Audio Capture Support, closed Spin Doctor, and re-opened it. The Start Auto Music Capture button was active. Following the instructions in your Spin Doctor User Guide (page 22) I went selected "start a new recording" and selected various parameters. CDSD Audio Capture was one of the input options. I clicked on the "start" button and immediately got an error message. After that the Auto Music Capture button was no longer active and CDSD audio capture was no longer one of the input options.+

  • Problems with CD Spin Doctor (Mac) conversions to iTunes 10.3

I have been converting all of my old vinyl to CDs for well over a year using CD Spin Doctor 6/Toast 10 to download, filter and edit the tracks.  Then I would "Send All Tracks to iTunes" in MP3 format.  Up until this week, I could play back each track in iTunes (10.3.1) exactly they way I had edited it.
Now, after the tunes are sent to iTunes and try to play them back, all I hear is the raw, unedited audio for the duration of the edited track time instead of the "correct" audio.
I have reinstalled both CD Spin Doctor 6/Toast 10 and iTunes 10.3, but the problem remains.  I want to try to download iTunes 10.2.8(?) for Mac, since I did not have the problem using that version, and I suspect that but I cannot find that old version download for macs.
I can hear the proper edited audio in Spin Doctor, but not in iTunes.
    Help!

I have Titanium 11 and the most recent Spin Doctor - as of yesterday (auto update), and a mb pro with Mountain Lion.
iTunes (most recent) was working great, no problems. Then I installed Toast Titanium 11 and began using Spin Doctor. The interface is great, and it imported my .aiff files fine....but when I saved my working file as the native Toast format....the file wasn't there! I tried twice - no file! when I save as an .aiff file the file is there but no song separations. Just the long .aiff file. And when I play the tracks the arrow doesn't move but the track keeps playing and I can't pause it, so it keeps going.
Then I got frustrated and quit SD, I booted iTunes and got the error 'The iTunes library (name) is locked and you don't have the permissions to change the files' or something like that! This didn't happen until I installed Roxio....for only one hour!
    Anyone else??
