Cd store purchases won't play!!

i used to buy a lot of cds on the itunes store. i always have. but recently, i bought one that worked on my computer, but not on my ipod. It's not just with store bought songs though. it's also with some of my really old songs i saved before my computer formatted. when i play them, it freezes my ipod, but it'll work eventually again. it looks like the song is about to start, but it doesn't. i try to go back to the menu, but doesn't move til almost 5 minutes later. then i have to reset it and can never listen to songs i spent my money on. i bought 2 cds and it has happened to both.

  • Older iTunes Store Purchases Won't Play Completely in iTunes or on my iPhone

    I'm on a Mac using iTunes 10.5.1 and an iPhone 4 running iOS 5. I recently had to restore my computer (including my iTunes library) from a backup, and I've run into a problem with playing some of my older iTunes Store purchases both on my computer and on my iPhone. When I play them in iTunes or on the iPhone, older purchases (from, say, 2006) will stop about one minute from the end of the recording, while newer purchases (within the last year) will play all the way through. The files themselves don't seem to be corrupt -- I can play them all the way through in Quicktime, just not in iTunes or on my iPhone.
    My computer is authorized on my account, although the "Account Name" associated with the file (in File | Get Info) is an old e-mail address.
    Any ideas? I would like to be able to play my old purchases in iTunes and on my iPhone.

    I had a similar issue, my 2nd Gen ipod shuffle that has been working fine for years did not show up in Itunes (I got a Windows message saying my USB device was not recognized).  This issue started after I installed the latest version of itues, 11.2.0.115.  I found this and it solved my problem.

    Go to step 2 Restart the iPod Service.
    I just stopped the ipod service and then started it again, now my shuffle shows up in itunes just like it used to.

    iTunes has just told me that my iTunes Store purchased music cannot be synced to my iPod because I do not have authorisation to play them on my iPod. I can play them from iTunes on my MacBookPro, sure my iPod is the same account?

    I see what happened.... when I upgraded to Leopard, iTunes lost its authorisation.
    Now I've reauthorised my computer and it says I've used 2 of my 5 authorisations.... Wow. both on the same machine. Surely the authorisation system can see that it's the same computer and reuse the first authorisation?

Then it says "An error has occured loading this content."  I just bought this apple tv and gone over and over pluging it in and setting it up thinking I did something wrong but I don't think it's that.     Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

  • ITunes wireless store purchases don't play on iPhone after syncing

    I've bought a number of music tracks from the iTunes store directly from my iPhone. Prior to syncing with my computer all the tracks play fine, however once I've synced my iPhone with the computer many of the tracks won't play on the iPhone, although they continue to work fine on iTunes on the Mac and Apple TV. The symptom is 5 seconds of silence for a track, followed by a jump to the next track. If I scrub past 5 seconds then I can hear the track's music. The synchronised music fails to play on the iPhone and iPod Touch. I've tried restoring the phone. I even tried downloading the same track purchased on the phone directly from the mac and found the filesizes were differing by 58 bytes.

    I have purchased a song from the iTunes store but it won't allow me to play it. It says I need to authroize my computer and when I do that it says it is already authorized but still won't play the song I downloaded. What can I do?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
    You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
    You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.
    If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

  • ITune Purchases won't play on Apple TV

    My ATV won't play music purchased on itunes. This is the newest of MANY issues with this devise I have had for years.
    On itunes devices sees the ATV. It will play my added music but not purchased stuff. This is newest of many trials with this device.
    Any suggestions? I noted a similar post was advised to reauthorize ATV but I don't know what that means.

    The poster likely meant that you should reauthorise your computer which is used as a primary library for the tv.

    I have iTunes vesrion 7.6.
    I have deauthorized and reauthorized my PC 3 times.
    I have restored factory settings on my iPod 7 times.
    I have purchased song from iTunes and can play them on the PC.
    I can drag them from purchased to my iPod.
    The songs appear in the iPod.
    When I disconnect the iPod, none of the purchased songs will play.

    these are songs bought and paid 4 on iTunes. They play on itunes, but not on my ipod
    The fact that a song plays in iTunes is no guarantee that it will play on the shuffle... select one of them in iTunes, go to File menu, and click on Get Info, copy what Summary says here.

  • Newest movie purchase won't play/sync on iPod3rdGen

    I just downloaded a movie that came out today. My ipod refuses to play it - iTunes won't even transfer it to back it up. When I downloaded trailers of this movie on my ipod in the past it said they couldn't be played, but I figured it was a glitch.
    Every other movie I've purchased works, including ones I've added myself. This movie is the exact same file as the others. Why isn't iPod playing it's own format?! Is it because it's HD? Is it my iPod? I just updated it. It's a 3rd gen, the one they had right before the release of the 4th with the camera.
    Am I supposed to upgrate iTunes? It works fine on iTunes. I payed 20$ for this movie on itunes for the purpouse of having it on my iPod. Is this another Apple bug they need to fix? Am I expected to buy the newest iPod or an iPad?! Either way it's extremely frustrating.
    Is anyone else having this problem with the newer releases?

    Thank you! Thing is I've purchased HD tv shows in the past and they've worked, so this threw me off. Luckily the non-HD one is downloaded along with it so I'm hoping that'll fix the issue. So I'll see how that goes.

  • App store purchase won't open after HD transfer

    My old Macbook Pro finally died with logic-board problems and wasn't worth repairing so in a pinch and while waiting for a new customised rMBP to arrive I picked up the same old MBP 2nd hand v. cheap and just physically swapped the drive over. It all works absolutely as expected including iTunes etc EXCEPT one app purchased from the App Store. I get the dialog saying this app was purchased on another computer and complete the Apple ID and password correctly but the app simply doesn't open. Nothing happens. I know the password is correct as a deliberate wrong password gives an error dialog. Only 3 of the 5 authorisations have been used too so not sure what to do.

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • Purchases won't play on new mac

    I just got a new macbook pro, and my purchases were done on some archaic account I had when I had AOL. each time i try to play my purchased music, which I transferred over from my iPhone on a 3rd party program, it says I need to authorize my new computer to play them, then brings up my old AOL account username. I somehow magically remember to password to it, but then when I enter it, it brings up a message saying "blah blah you need to update to an itunes account" and then when I click the "Update" button to do that (even though I already have an itunes account, I just don't think it's all synced up with my old AOL account), it takes me to a page titled "Let's get started" to get my apple ID. Problem becomes, every time I press "continue" it says "an error occurred. the iTunes store couldn't process your request. please try again later." but I've tried several laters, and nothing happens.

    I used iDVD to create an IMG file
    You created the video DVD, the IMG file, with iDVD and just burned it with Disk Utility. As Klaus1 pointed out Disk Utility can't create video DVDs.

    I purchased a song that is 5:48 but it will only play 1:28 of it. It then just skips to the next song. If i move the toggle to say the 3:00 mark, it automatically skips to the next song.

    btw...all other songs purchased at the time are playing just fine and have also synced with my device just fine. it seems there is something wrong with just this one.

    Solved (copy and pasted from my post) For others having this problem, delete the songs you have just purchased from itunes. Then, go to the store and in quick links click on "Purchased". Then find on the top right "Songs not on this computer" (or something similar) and you will find them for download. It's best to download them one at a time and wait for one to complete before moving on to the next one.

    I purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Editor from the App store, and when I try to download it, I get "an error occurred" message. It won't download but I've been charged for it. I've contacted Adobe but they said I have to contact iTunes. I'm using Mac OS X 10.7.4. Any suggestions?
