CD stuck in drive, can't eject with any method- help!
I was burning a CD of merengue music (a type of Latin music) and I forgot my Mac was doing so. I picked up the computer and heard a noise– I realised then that I had inadvertently ruined the disc. I'd done so a couple times before, and iTunes will just inform me that the burn failed. I eject the disc and get another, life goes on as usual. This time, I have tried ejecting numerous times, numerous methods– and the disc will not come out. Instead, my computer produces a bad noise for a moment before giving up.
Oddly, the disc still mounts on the desktop and appears in iTunes.
Methods I have tried:
1) Eject via Finder
2) Eject via iTunes
3) Eject via keyboard command
4) Eject via Open Firmware
I'm ready to take it to the nearest Apple store, if need be.
I too have a disc jammed in the drive of my iBook G4. It has been there for more than six months now and I have tried all of the suggested methods of ejecting it but nothing has worked. The same thing happened a year ago and I managed to eject the disc after allowing the computer (and myself) to cool down. On that first occasion it was lodged in the drive for only a few hours and I was never sure why suddenly the disc did eject because I tried only strategies I had used earlier. This second disc was jammed when an enthusiastic salesman thrust a start-up disc for my new printer into the drive before I could stop him.
I live in central Viet Nam and after fourteen months of life here I have yet to find an Apple office, although I do see many tourists here with Apple laptops. The lack of service in places like this is the reason I will not be buying another Apple computer. The inconvenience of being unable to use the drive is considerable. It was also a waste of money buying extra Protection Plan as I have been unable to get any service or advice, even by email from the Australian store where I bought my iBook G4.

The T-mobile phone is advertised to be SIM-free. This does NOT mean unlocked. Unlocked iPhone 6's are not yet for sale in the US.

I've bought leather case for iPhone 4 with a magnet clip situated on the back side just above the "apple" label. Can it interfere with any signals or made other damage?
I have been using a leather case with a magnetic clasp for months. The only side effect is that I need to recalibrate the compass app when I use it. This is really not a problem since I don't use the compass app very often. I haven't encountered any other interference or problems.

Hello, please help, my interface is connected to the microphone and when i open Logic 9 it does´t work. But I opened garageband to check and it works fine. I can record voice with any effect... With Logic i see the sound passes in the interface but does not arrive in Logic. The Loops works fine and i can hear. Is just the sound to record the voice it does not work. What can i do ??? I used Logic before in the same computer and it worked fine. Thank you so much, I´m a begginer recording myself.
Make sure you go into preferences in Logic and set the audio input to be your interface and the audio output to be either built in output or the interface, if that is hooked up to something else. It sounds like Garageband has the audio interface set as the input but not Logic.
Also make sure you close all other applications except Logic to ensure it is not running in slave mode... -
Driver can't communicate with new officejet pro 8610 for scanning
I just bought a new officejet pro 8610. Followed all directions and set up with wireless connection. Prints fine but will not scan. Will not work if used at control panel on printer or software. First tried it on a windows 7 machine. Just tried on a new windows 8.1 machine - same problem. Very frustrating. Have done the HP scanner doctor and when it gets to driver it says scanner driver can't communicate to product. Used disk and then went to HP web site and downloaded latest software and drivers - still does not work.
I'm about ready to take the printer back but am open to any ideas.Hi @ecsteve
It is possible you have a firewall or antivirus that is blocking the scan communication. Printing is considered outgoing and is not considered a threat, but because scanning is incoming communication, an antivirus or firewall could be blocking it to protect the computer.
If you have Norton, take a look at the following link; I cannot configure or access a network printer or other devices after I install my Norton product.

As long as it's USB, any one will work (If you're only using it for your Mac, then use Disk Utility to Partition it as GUID/HFS+).

Adobe Premier elements is working with avi footage that I have on my external hard drive. When I am finished working on a project and have everything closed out, Adobe holds up the drive, not allowing me to "safley remove hardwear". I have 2 external drives and it does this on both. Does anyone know how to handle this? I have gone and turned off the casche
Some interesting observations, Ed. I have not used USB externals (except rarely) in some years. All of mine are FW-400, or FW-800.
I have found that with the USB's, there WAS often a hold placed on the drive. Usually, waiting a moment took care of this. It has also been years, since I did any editing to/from a USB, and never with any Adobe product. I gave up on this, because of the lethargic performance with other NLE's and USB externals. I only use these for minor archiving now, so have not noticed the "hold," but it still might be there.
As to AV & Spyware software, I usually turn these off for editing, but they are notorious for going and "poking around" a system. Same for Indexing, whether it's Windows, or programs like Roxio & Nero, which love to "monitor" all discs, in hopes of finding some sort of file to burn to CD/DVD. I never install any of the modules for this sort of thing, when installing Nero (do not use any Roxio).

Besides your Premiere Elements work, is this drive used for anything else, Ghost, Maxtor-One-Touch, etc.? Anything at all on that drive, beyond Adobe?

I have Comcast Internet and have it connected to a Motorla Surfboard modem and have that running directly to a 2TB Time Capsule. The TC is serving as our time machine as well as our wireless router. We lost power in a storm a week ago and can no longer connect to my wireless network I can see the network and sign into it via password, but cannot connect with any device(iMac, MacBook, iPhones, iPod touches, air tv, etc.). ALL of these devices worked gat before the power went out. I reset both modem and TC and still can't connect. I can connect to the Internet through Ethernet cord directly from the modems dn have confirmation(per Comcast service) that the Internet is working and we have a good connection.
The TC is less than six months old so I'm not sure what is wrong. I have reset settings with TC to no avail. I have reset the TC SEVERAL times and have no idea what could be wrong and what is prohibiting me from connecting. Anyone that has ANY suggestions or ideas as to how to fix this, PLEASE HELP!!! I'm going crazy using iPad 3G and not being able to connect to our wifi. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND I LOOK FORWARD TO GETTING BACK TO THE 21ST CENTURY!Anyone have any ideas or information to help with this? Any help and consideration is MUCH appreciated.

There is no solution other than having the device cleared by the former owner. If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. You must contact the previous owner to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the previous owner return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it. -

Is the headset discoverable? The manual for the bluetooth headset should show you how to make it discoverable.
Does the iPhone see the headset?

Can't interact with any open windows, can't interact with flash content
I've already tried reinstalling, resetting and deleting my profile, nothing's changed.
I can't close any Firefox window by pressing "x", or by pressing Alt+F4, I can only close it through the task manager or task bar. Minimising or going into windowed mode is also impossible.
If a new window opens itself (e.g. A download) I can't interact with it at all - It's visible on top of the main window, but nothing I do affects it.
I also can't interact with flash content (like pausing a youtube video)
There is absolutely no feedback when I try. The icon doesn't change.
I recently reset firefox, there are no add-ons, themes etc. installed, the problem persists.
I am running Windows 7 64bit, everything else (including other browsers) appears to be working fine and a virus scan (Avast! free version) turned up nothing.

I have elements 12 Mac and I can not print 4X6, it comes out 8X10 using HP7520. It was fine until now. I can print 4X6 with iPhoto and off the printer scanner. Help?
