CDDB Error.  HTTP Processing Error.

After working flawlessly, iTunes now not getting the CD information when trying to download new CDs. I get the subject named error when highlighting a track and under the advanced menu, ask it to get the track name. Help!
compaq   Windows XP

This is a bug and Apple should address it.
I am experiencing the same issue and have for some time. The boys at the local Genius Bar where about as useful as a two legged tripod.
I am not using any acceleration software. My ISP is setup to automatically assign the IP so I do not believe that it's a proxy issue.
I have also opened up my firewall to allow iTunes unfettered access.
Other applications that access the Gracenote db work fine.
I would appreciate some useful information.

  • Problems Accessing Gracenote CDDB: "HTTP Processing Error" Help Please

I'm hoping for a bit of help here people, having a few problems I would be grateful for your assistance with!
I've been having trouble accessing Gracenote for a couple of months now. What was happening was that when I tried to search for the CD info on Mediasource, the gracenote icon would appear in the top left corner, and the screen loading as if obtaining the info, but then nothing happens and the info is left blank.
I have tried everything I know, and everything that has been suggested here! I have altered the ZoneAlarm settings, deleted the cddb file, checked that the settings in Mediasource are correct, downloaded the latest drivers, re-registered for gracenote manually and various other things. None of these have solved the problem.
Finally, I decided to completely re-install Creative Mediasource. After doing this, I tried to access gracenote again, and was asked to re-register. I did this, but then recieved an error message stating "Internal Socket Error". THis happened a couple of times, before the message was replaced with "HTTP Processing Error", whenever I try to access gracenote. It still will not recognise the music!
Basically, I am at the end of my knowledge and the end of my patience!!! I really don't know what more to do and so I'm throwing this open to you guys - any help would be so, so appreciated! The only this I can think is that my dad got an ipod two months ago, and has installed itunes on the PC. From what I understand, that uses gracenote too - are the two programmes clashing? If so, can anyone suggest a way I can alter this?
You're my last hope before I'm condemmed to a lifetime of filling in CD's by hand!!! I'll be really grateful if any of you guys can help me out!
    Thanks!
    David

  • CDDB error and HTTP processing error

when I try to add a new CD to my library I get CDDB error and HTTP processing errors..... and download will only show the number of tracks and the time each track will play...this only happens on my PC.... and everything works ok on my laptop... I have tried the latest update...and I have compared settings between the two computers but haven't found the problem...

Since a recent update of itunes I cannot get CD track
names from Gracenote anymore. This problem only
occurs on my windows profile and not on other
profiles on the same computer. When I load an audio
CD, itunes recognises it but doesn't name tracks.
When I click on "Get CD track names" in the advanced
menu it starts as normal and then I get a window with
the message 'CDDB Error. HTTP processing Error.' I
have tried a second itunes download, which according
to the install wizard repaired all faults.... still
happening though. I don't have enough time in my life
to type in all the track names! Any help gratefully
    received.

    Insert an additional step:

It takes a while to test one or a few items at a time, but it works! If you find these in your Startup list try selecting all and then unselecting these first. One of these was the problem for me but I haven't narrowed it down to one of them yet.

  • Cddb error, when importing files from cd

i am using a new computer and am having problems importing new music from disc. when inserting the disc, itunes can not read track names or artist name. when you request itunes to get the names, it responds with a "CDDB Error, HTTP processing error". access to the music store or radio stations is not a problem. when using the help link in itunes for this error it shows you to change the LAN settings which I have done (even though I am dial up) but this did nothing.
access is via dial-up modum and earthlink on this computer (windows xp). all programs are up to date.
thanks for any help you can give me

  • CDDB Error - Please Help!

I can't get track names to show up - i get a CDDB Error - HTTP Processing Error. I'm on a wireless broadband connection from home so i'm not using a LAN or have any proxy settings. I'm running McAfee Security, but i tried disabling my firewall and that didn't help. I've checked security settings and iTunes is listed as Full Access. Is there somewhere to add in Gracenote as having full access even though it's not an application? ANY SUGGESTIONS?? I can get it to work just fine on my other laptop with the same connection!

  • Cddb error

I am using itunes via a broadband mobile phone connection rather than my home wireless connection. I was previously able to get cd track names to come up for cd's I want to import, but now I keep getting "cddb error, http error". I am not an expert, but have checked my internet settings, and proxy settings as suggested, and changed some, but nothing helps. Previously, I was able to get track names without difficulty. I also checked Gracenote, and my cd's I want to import are in the database. Please advise...wit instructions in non computer speak, please :)))

It's not so much the difference between broadband and mobile phone -- it's more likely a difference with ISPs / servers / proxies / firewalls which is different when you're using broadband vs. mobile modem. If you tell me that no one with your carrier can get CDDB work with iTunes over a mobile modem, well, I know that CDDB lookup work, so I would say try it with a different connection.
It's easy to imagine that when you log on that you are connecting right to the internet pipe and it should be all the same. But in reality, when you connect to the internet, you are connecting to a server that connects to the internet pipe. And when you log on via broadband you are connecting to a different server between you and the pipe than you do when you connect via mobile modem. And it is unlikely that those servers are configured the same way.
If you run iTunes Help menu -> Run Diagnostics and run the Network diagnostics, you should get information about proxies and firewalls, etc. And this output would be different for the case where the CDDB lookup works vs doesn't.
But my suggestion is that if you tip a CD with iTunes, it caches the information about the CD in the digital music files, so that you can go back and lookup the information any other time. You can rip now and get the metadata later.

  • CDDB Error - Dowloading track names/details

I'm trying to import songs from CD to iTunes. When I insert the CD iTunes opens automatically but does not pull up any CD information. Usually all information is picked up when the CD is inserted.
If I manually attempt to "Get CD Track Names" I get an error message saying, "CDDB Error. Unsupported compression scheme requested".
These are brand new, original CD's and I have never had this or a similar problem. Can anyone advise?

You're having a problem connecting to the Gracenote servers that have the information about the CDs. This is most likely a network configuration issue.
What do you have for a firewall / proxy configuation? Do you have McAfee Internet Security running? Do you have a popup blocker, like AdSubtract, running? Are you using CFM or PAC files? Do you have an ISP with web acceleration software? Do you have Zone Alarm Pro?

  • Help - Getting "CDDB Error. HTTP Processing Error" Message

I am running Windows XP with Norton Internet Security 2006. I am trying to import regular, purchased CDs, but Itunes will not access the track names.
A posting on another site recommended clicking off on the Enable Browser Security in the Privacy controls, but that did not work.
Any other suggestions as to why it will not connect to CDDB?

if you've got NIS, we'd first better check on this possibility (it hits CDDB connections too):
iTunes cannot connect to the Music Store or Shared Music after installing Norton Internet Security

  • HTTP Processing Error in itunes 7.0.2

I can't seem to get itunes to read cd information thru CDDB. The computer is connected to the internet via a free wireless network which could have something to do with it. Itunes store works, internet works, but no track names? The information is on The CDDB website but it won't link my computer to the server. Any help is appreciated.

Do you know any other tricks or ways to connect within the system? I think everything dealing with the wifi signal checks out. All of the proxy and HTTP info looks to be good. Could it be an internal system error preventing the CDDB preferences from connecting? Is there a way to scan itunes for errors?

  • HTTP processing error when I try to get track information

This has stumped six people at apple support and my ISP- I got cut off from/was cut off by the last guy I spoke to after half an hour of trying and I hadn't the heart to start all over again with another one.
I get the above error message when I try to download track info from iTunes. This has happened since we set up a wireless network at home. We have solved the problem for the other pc running windows by typing an address I got from my ISP into LAN settings and track info is suddenly available.
However in the Mac system preferences/network/advanced/proxies nothing I click or type works. A whole week of my life has passed me by as I try to resolve this problem. Please help.

  • Cddb error:  unsupported compression scheme requested

when i put in cd's, it says it can't find it in gracenote and to put it in manually. i thought this was a fluke at first, but it happened to 10 different cd's and i looked on the gracenote website and the cd's were all on there. when i asked itunes to find the track names, it came up with the error unsupported compression scheme requested. i recently had a computer crash and had to reinstall everything, so the error could be anything. help!

    Thanks Rachyl
But the article says: Either discontinue using the proxy server or contact the proxy server administrator for assistance.
The Problem is: I am not using a proxy server. Do you have another idea?

  • Error message when iTunes looks up Gracenotes database for song info

"CDDB error. HTTP processing error." is the message I now receive when i put a new cd in my computer to import it to my library. previously as soon as i put it in when connected to internet, the info would appear without error. I've read in help files that it has something to do with my proxy settings, + that they need to be correct, but it doesn't tell me what they should be. It doesn't make sense because I haven't changed anything + it used to work! help please...............

The Long Text for your error COM_PCAT_IMS852 is given below You might have already seen it. It appears that the load (FTP or HTTP) aborted and it is very likely there is an ABAP dump ( ST22 ) or at least a log entry ( SM21 ?).
You can find the document class (TIF , GIF, JPG) etc you set for the document type.
SAP Web Application Server -> Application Server  -> Basis Services  -> ArchiveLink  -> Basic Customizing  -> Edit Document Types
For every document type there can be only one document class right? So, I am not sure if you are mixing the document classes for a document type.
