Hi !
When I'm generating a module with Oracle Designer (6.0), I get the following Error:
CDI-21600 A running Generator or Utility has failed. It is possible that the internal cache is now in an inconsistent state. You are therefore recommended to close and restart the application.
What is the matter ?! Who can help me solving this problem. And what is the problem exactly.

Nico,
The CDI-21600 is something like an 'unhandled exception handler' for the generator. There are many things that can lead to it, too long a list to provide here. You can look all known causes up in Metalink note 104869.1

This is the installation that I have:
Designer 6i 4.1.1
Developer 6i - Patch 7
Oracle 8i Release 3 (8.1.7)
I went trough OTN's Designer forums and it doesn't give me much information about this errors. I tried installing the patch several times...in both Developer home and Designer home and it doesn't work.
Please provide some advise in this matter.

This is a common problem in my shop as well.. I have found that deleting
pior FMB's from the destination directory and restarting designer usually fixes it.

I would try reinstalling.
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

Disk Utility has Lost Connection with the Disk Managment Tool

For starters, this problem is not associated with the thread that Brian Z. has posted at the top of this forum. Having said that, here's my problem:
I had installed Security Update 2006-003, and Quicktime 7.1. Permissions were repaired before and after each installation, and all went well.
Some hours later, I was experimenting with Apple Remote Desktop. I had activated ARD in the System Preferences>Sharing pane, and it provided me an IP address associated with ARD. I then turned on Airport, and ARD provided me with an IP address associated with that connection. However when I turned off my modem connection, System Preferences>Sharing hung, and had to be Force Quit.

Thinking a plist had become corrupted, I trashed the following:
com.apple.systempreferences.plist
com.apple.RemoteDesktop.plist
com.apple.Remotemanagement.plist
com.apple.sharing.firewall.plist.
System Preferences started out very slowly, but then all the panes except Sharing would work ok.
I booted from the install disk and performed a Disk Repair. There were no problems reported.
When I tried to run a Repair Permissions, after about 20 seconds I got the, "Disk Utility has lost connection with the disk management tool and can not continue. Please quit and relaunch Disk Utility."
I quit D.U. and the Installer, and was able to successfully run a Repair Permissions from the D.U. in my Utilities folder. It had no problems to report.
Continuting to troubleshoot the System Preferences problem, I then trashed the com.apple.preferencepanes.cache. This solved my System Preferences>Sharing problem.
However, I am still unable to perform a Repair Permissions after booting from my install disk (I get the subject message). Repairing permissions from the Disk Utility in my Utilies folder works fine.
Any thoughts out there on a logical way to troubleshoot where my problem is? Is there a way to get a console log when I'm running DU from the install disk, or a comparable source??

Multi Select LOV Gives CDI-21600

Have discovered that the Multi Select LOV facility is causing error CDI-21600 in some circumstances.
We have 2 tables -
Instance_Type_Owners
ito_int_id
ito_owner_org_id
ito_owner_ort_id
ito_created_by
ito_created_date
pk is the first 3 columns
Instance_Type_Relations
itr_ito_int_id1
itr_ito_owner_org_id1
itr_ito_owner_ort_id1
itr_ito_int_id2
itr_ito_owner_org_id2
itr_ito_owner_ort_id2
pk is all 6 columns, with 2 fk's pointing back to Instance_Type_Owners.
I'm creating a 2 block form, master block has base table of Instance_Type_Owners, detail block has base table of Instance_Type_Relations, using a key link based on the fk pointing back to id1's. I also want a multi-select LOV using the fk pointing back to id2's. This is giving me CDI-21600; the error goes away if I take the Template/Library Object qmsso$msel_lov_item off the leading element of the fk used by the LOV (i.e. itr_ito_int_id2).
I've double-checked everything about the definitions of these tables/pks/fks, & everything looks ok. I've successfully used multi-select LOV on other tables with a similar fk structure (ie relationship tables, with 2 fks pointing back to the same master table), & with multi-column fks, so it's not being caused by any of these reasons.
Any ideas on what may be causing this?

Thanks for the response. I have seen the checklists for causes of this problem, & have checked all tables/fks/pks involved in the form. I can successfully generate forms which maintain these tables, or with lookups to these tables. The problem only happens when I use the Headstart multi-select LOV facility. As I said, the problem goes away immediately I remove the 'qmsso$msel_lov_item' template/library object from the leading element of the fk in the base table.
If I go to Designer support & tell them this, I'm pretty sure they'll say it's a Headstart problem, since it only happens when Headstart facilities are involved.

On screen display message generator for ThinkPad has stopped working

This is a fresh install of Vista-32 on a lenovo x300.
Upon boot (or launching TPOSDSVC.exe) I receive the error message in the subject line.

I've uninstalled the On Screen Display application a few times - no luck
-I uninstalled it from add/remove programs then reinstalled it via the Lenovo System Update utility.
I've checked my video drivers - up to date according to lenovo
The problem is presitent under new profiles.
I did some digging online and found a possible fix of altering some reg keys

The keys mentioned in that post were non- existent in this computers registry.... ?

I have experienced this on a customer's ThinkPad R61e Machine Type 7650-DNG and found that the following solves the problem.
Firstly run Thinkvantage System Update and get everything up to date from Critical, Recommended and Optional Updates tabs.
Next Run Windows Update and view the available updates select all High Priority Microsoft updates and any optional ones that you require and (and this is where it differs from normal Lenovo advice) select the Conexant Audio driver aswell.
Current Vista version available on Windows Update is 4.98 (Date 23 Jun 2009)
Current Vista version available on Thinkvantage System Update is 4.18 (Date 2 Oct 2007)
NB Re-installing 4.18 may have solved the problem also, but I have not tried that and do not plan to.

If you run DAC on a 64-bit windows Operating System, you must create the ODBC data source using the ODBC Administrator tool in %windir%\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe. for creating the data warehouse tables.

How to run/generate a payment in f110

Guys help me!! I have created a parameter in TCODE F110(AUTOMATIC PAYMENT TRANSACTIONS: STATUS ) and I need to run/generate it. The only message I got was "payment run has been carried out".
I need to come up with a message like this "posting orders: 1 generated , 1 completed. What should I do? many many tnx....

Have you run the payment by clicking on button "Pmnt Run"? First you need to enter correct Parameters then you have to run the Proposal. After Proposal has been run, view the Proposal, if it comes up with a green indicator, you can then run the "Payment" by clicking on "Pmnt Run". But remember you first need open invoices for the vendor you're trying to pay.
Can you explain in detail what exactly you did in F110?

PowerBook Can't Run Airport Management Utility

I'm still trying to find out why my PowerBook can't run Airport Management Utility, even though all of my other Airport software is up to date. When I try to launch the utility, it gives the message that it "requires Airport 3.4 or later", which I do already have.
Below is a description of my latest effort, followed by my original question, which has been archived in this discussion group.
I created and logged in via a new user account, but I still got the same 'requires Airport 3.4 or later' message from Airport Management Utility. I took it from this that the problem was not related to user preferences.
I then used Spotlight to search the Library folder. The only airport pref I found there was com.apple.airport.preferences.plist, located in this path: Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration.
The computer would not let me move this to the desktop, but copied it instead. I can open that copy in TextEdit, but if I double click on it, it actually launches in OmniOutlner. A check via "Get Info" shows that it is set to "Open with: OmniOutliner" from the drop down menu in the Get Info box.
If you open this plist in OmiOutliner, you find the information I've listed below. It appears to show that the file does know the Airport software version is "5" and not less than 3.4:

• AllowEnable 0
▶ Default 802.1X Configurations
• InterferenceRobustness 0
• Require Admin for network 0
change
• JoinMode 1
• Always remember new networks 1

My original posting was:
I have the newest PowerBook G4 , purchased this fall with Mac OS X 10.4.3 and AirPort Update 2005-001 installed.
When I try to run Airport Management utility I get the message : " "The Airport Management Utility requires Airport 3.4 or later. Click Update to check for newer software." While Airport Management Utility will not run on my PowerBook, it does run on my iMac with 10.3.9.
I've tried:
-installing "AirPort Update 2005-001" but it didn't solve the problem.
-installing "AirPort 4.2 for Mac OS X 10.4.2", thinking that if it were not needed, the installer would not run. It did install, but that did not solve the problem.
-re-installing "AirPort Update 2005-001", which did install a second time, but did not solve the problem. (I thought perhaps the installer for this update wouldn't run a second time.)
Does anyone know of a solution, or does Apple need to update Airport Management Utility?
(I've cross-posted this in the Airport discussion area, but I also wanted to check with others who recently bought the same PowerBook.)

If you already have AirPortConfig.framework and AMU is not working, move it to the trash or somewhere else.
I found AirPortConfig.framework in the "AirPort Extreme Software Installation" CD (CD version 4.1 2Z691-5219-A):
1. Open the CD
2. Control-click "AirPort for Mac OX X v10.3" and select Show original
3. Control-click "AirPortSW.pkg" and select Show Package Contents
4. Open Contents
5. Drag Archive.pax.gz to the Desktop
6. Double-click Archive.pax.gz to unarchive the file
7. AirPortConfig.framework is in ~/Desktop/Archive/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks
8. Drag AirPortConfig.framework to /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ You will be asked to authenticate.
AMU should work at this point.
Alternatively, download "AirPort 4.1 Update.dmg" from
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/airport41formacosx.html
and follow from step 3. above.
This solution seems to work on both Intel and PowerPC machines.
Computers tested: Power Mac G5, Powerbook G4 12" and 17", MacBook Pro.
IMPORTANT: I do not know if this solution breaks anything. CAVEAT EMPTOR!"

Fn on screen display message generator for ThinkPad has stopped working

I did a clean install of Windows Vista Enterprise edition and have installed all the drivers for my T400.
What I found was that the Fn on screen display message generator was working fine right before I installed the driver for the Intel GM4500 video controller.
Once I installed this video driver, I get a popup window that says On screen display message generator for Thinkpad has stopped working

I know that some of you have experienced this problem too but so far there hasn't been a solution that's worked.
I'm reluctant to install Vista SP1 or SP2 as that may caus other unrelated problems.

Use Pacifist to extract a new copy of the DesktopScreenEffectsPref.prefPane from your Mac OS X 10.4 installation disks, and then run the combo updater for your version of Mac OS X.

Disc utility has to quit

hello,
having a bit of a problem with disc utility, I have searched high and low for answer but I cant find any regarding Tiger.
I have tried the answers suggested for panther and they worked once but not any more.
Any way the problem I am having is as follows.
When I try to run repair permissions nothing happens for a while and then I get a message stating;
"disc utility has lost connection with the disc management tool"
I have tried running disc permissions form the install disc -same thing happens
Have verified the harddrive- every thing is ok
ran fsck-evey thing ok.
Phoned apple support all they could suggest was zeroing the harddrive and reinstalling- not what I would really like to do.
has any one got any sugggestions?
also what would ahppen if I didnt repair permission every month?

I found the answer in the panther forums -just do a search it comes up right at the top.
The answer was two fold the first part was to trash the chess programme then do repair permissions
the second part was to
(1)trash itunes 6.02 and reinstall 6.01(if you still have itunes 6.01)
(2) or as a temporary fix remove the itunes packages from the reciepts folder.- I did this and it allowed me to repair permissions once but Now it wont let me do it again.
Its very annoying and unforutnaly the apple techs have been as useful as a chocolate teapot on this one.Their only suggestion was to zero the hard drive then reinstall.But at the moment I dont have a spare day to zero the hard drive!!
If i find the answer I will post it here

Disk utility says 320.07 GB WDC has failed. What is this. My actual hard drive is listed right below it.

My MacBook Pro has been having boot up issues. I booted in safe mode and launched disk utilities. It is listing (in red text) 320.07 WDC as a failed drive that needs replaced, but my actual hard drive is shown right below it and I'm currently running the utility on it. What is my issue? The hard drive was just replaced 6 months ago.

The first listing with all the numbers and letters is the actual hardware device (the physical bits of metal and electronics). The indented items are the "volumes" on the drive, or areas on that physical drive assigned as 'rooms' by you and the comptuer. Often people have just one volume on a physical drive but you could have several volumes on a partitioned drive, each of which would appear as a different "drive" on your desktop.
Is this saying the SMART status has failed? If it is then you very likely have hardware failure.

'Disk Utility has lost connection with Disk Management Tool' w/ RAID 10 set

Using 4 internal drives, I have specified the following setup for each:
2 partitions, 1 'speed' of 5 GB and 1 'data' of whatever remains.
The 4 speed partitions stripe to a single RAID volume correctly.
The 4 data partitions are used to make a RAID 10 volume as follows:
The first 2 data partitions are mirrored to make a 'data-A'
The next 2 data partitions are mirrored to make a 'data-B'
These complete correctly.
Upon attempting to strip data-A and data-B in order to finish the RAID 10 setup, Disk Utility quits with the following message:
"Disk Utility has lost connection with the Disk Management Tool and cannot continue. Please quit and relaunch Disk Utility'.
A search here and on the nets reveals only that this message appeared in 10.3.x when attempting to repair disk permissions and had to do with a rogue iTunes support file. This is occurring on a blank system (no iTunes installed) so I don't think its the same cause.
Note that I was able to complete this setup under Tiger several times without issue, so it seems to be unique to Leopard. Does anyone know what is going on and hopefully suggest a workaround?

To answer my own issue and leave a marker here for others, I was able to successfully set up a RAID 10 partition using diskutil, indicating that the problem is Disk Utility itself and not the RAID implementation.
Disk Utility has proven itself to be bugridden (must restart frequently to get updated view of volumes; drops device names at various times; etc.) and this latest bug would seem to suggest that it should be avoided in favor of diskutil for any serious RAID construction.

With that one, first try uninstalling and reinstalling your MobileMe Control Panel for Windows, robin. Does that make the error go away?
