CDMA A 1429 and GSM A1429

Does Verizon iPhone 5 CDMA model A1429 without a contract (contract-free and GSM unlocked) is supporting the same LTE bands which IPhone 5 GSM model A1429 support?

There are posts on forum where other posters are trying to use A1429 CDMA in Europe
it does NOT work on LTE as they have found out and wasted money
Only the A1429 GSM works on LTE outside North America

  • Can i use cdma for internet and gsm for phone at a time in Iphone4s?

    Can i use cdma for internet and gsm for phone at a time in Iphone4s?

    No. Phones sold by GSM carriers can't access CDMA at all and phones sold by CDMA carriers can only access GSM if they are a) unlocked and b) in an area where there is not CDMA.
    Best of luck.

  • HT3939 if I purchased iPhone 5 GSM A1429, then I tried to use CDMA SIM card inside the same phone, does it'll work and provide me signals ???

    Hi All,
    Regarding iPhone 5, at the latest model, if I bought an unlocked one from UK Apple Store,  iPhone 5 GSM   A1429, then I tried to use CDMA SIM card inside the same phone, does it'll work and provide me signals or not. ??
    Thanks for your answering.

    The answer is complicated. None of the major carriers offer PAYG service in the US, but if you buy a contract-free phone for full price you can get a plan that can be canceled at any time from any of the major carriers (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile). There are smaller resellers that offer PAYG service (StraightTalk, for example), but they are hard to deal with.
    The most liberal is the GSM carrier T-Mobile. They have "unbundled" the phone from the service, so if you bring your own phone or pay full price for a phone the monthly cost will be lower.
    The other 3 will charge you the same monthly cost whether you pay full price for the phone or get a subsidized phone.
    Verizon iPhone 5 series phones are unlocked out of the box for international use (thanks to a condition the FCC imposed on Verizon when they were allowed to buy a substantial chunk of spectrum). They are the only phones sold in the US that will work on LTE bands in the UK and Europe.
    Sprint is not a good choice, because they give you a hard time if you want to unlock your phone.
    AT&T phones are locked, but they will unlock the phone if you pay full price or pay off your early termination fee. However, they will only work on GSM in the UK, not on LTE (4G).

  • USB sync cable different for CDMA and GSM version phones?

    I recently ordered a USB sync cable for Iphone 4S from ebay. I want to know whether the USB sync cable for Iphone 4S is different for CDMA and GSM version phones? And if they are then what are the likely consequences if they are interchanged and used inadvertantly.

    All recent iDevices use the same type of connector/cable.

  • Hello I want to Buy iPhone 5 CDMA and GSM open and I am in Yemen how to do it

    Hello I want to Buy iPhone 5 CDMA and GSM open and I am in Yemen how to do it

    NO it won't work in India because all the iPhones for sale in the USA are carrier locked to networks, so no they won't work outside the USA.
    There will be no unocked iPhones for sale in the US at the moment which is what you need, and anyway, if you purchased one in the US, there is no international warranty so there is nothing you can do.
    You will have to wait because it won't work in India.

  • Switch between CDMA and GSM Iphone 5

    Hi,
    I am wondering on the Verizon Iphone 5, can you switch between CDMA and GSM via a setting or is it still like the iphone 4s where you have to remove the sim card to switch back to CDMA?
    Thanks.

    A SOLUTION: cut another corner and insert the nano-SIM upside-down, and keep a SIM card ejection tool on your key ring or tape one to your phone's case or both.
    Adam, and anyone else who like us, was hoping that there were a software based method that would allow iPhone 5 users the option of toggling between Verizon (or other CDMA carrier) and whatever other SIM Card based GSM carrier we have inserted/installed into our SIM tray.
    For myself, I have a SIM card with the "Minutes" type of plan, specifically the minutes plan that gives 2000 minutes for $100, which is good for one year. This is my backup network.
    Since I do not need a SIM for the CDMA network that I use as my primary network, my SIM slot is empty (I am not running LTE, only 3G).
    So, in order to be able to switch my handset from one carrier to the other, which would be most helpful in the event of a system failure on my primary carrier I can switch over to my "backup/gsm network; it would be very, very nice to be able to toggle between the two networks, (like in the old days where we could simply select either the 'A' {non-wireline} or the 'B' {wireline} carrier/network) by simply pressing a couple-few buttons.  It is funny to me to actually realize my old "Brick" phone actually had a feature lacking on my iPhone 5.
    This would have been great during hurricane Sandy when my Verizon service was (literally) dead in the water for several days.  And, there is always the possibility of a cell site going down on the primary network, again.

  • CDMA and GSM

    So in reading about the new Iphone 4s, it looks like it will support CDMA and GSM.  So to make it would not matter as much who your carrier is.  Or is it two of the same annttena so it can not switch between gsm and CDMA?

    Yes. It's a true "world phone".
    Or is it two of the same annttena so it can not switch between gsm and CDMA?
    I'm not sure what you mean by this... The big reason for building a world phone is so that people who use a CDMA service in the very few countries that have them can put in a SIM card and get service in the rest of the world.

  • IPad CDMA SIM and GSM SIM

    Can I change my iPad 4 cellular access from Verizon (a CDMA SIM) to ATT&T or T-Movile (a GMS SIM)?

    No, not because they are locked (they aren't), it's because the iPad 4's are designed with separate LTE and GSM bands. So an AT&T sim would "work" in a Sprint or Verizon iPad, but you wouldn't get LTE or even 3G service.

  • ADPCM and GSM to wav file with RAWCONVERTER

    Hi, is it possible to codify ADPCM and GSM in a .wav file with the RawAudioDataConverter(jsresources) or do they need a targetEncoding?. I have recorded GSM data in a wav file but I can't decode them.
    Example of my GSM coder and decoder
    AudioInputStream ais = null;
              AudioFormat.Encoding targetEncoding = null;
              AudioInputStream audioInputStream;
              File encodedFile = null;
    encodedFile = new File("gsm" + audioFile.getName());
                   try
                        ais = AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(audioFile);
                   } catch (Exception e)
                        e.printStackTrace();
                   if (ais == null)
                        System.out.println("No se puede abrir el archivo");
                   AudioFormat sourceFormat = ais.getFormat();
                   if (!sourceFormat.getEncoding().equals(
                             AudioFormat.Encoding.PCM_SIGNED)
                             || sourceFormat.getSampleRate() != 8000.0F
                             || sourceFormat.getSampleSizeInBits() != 16
                             || sourceFormat.getChannels() != 1)
                        System.out
                                  .println("The format of the input data has to be PCM 8 kHz 16 bit mono");
                        System.exit(1);
                   AudioFormat.Encoding targetEncod = new AudioFormat.Encoding(
                             "GSM0610");
                   AudioInputStream gsmAIS = AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(
                             targetEncod, ais);
                   AudioFileFormat.Type fileType = new AudioFileFormat.Type("GSM",
                             ".gsm");
                   int nWrittenFrames = 0;
                   try
                        nWrittenFrames = AudioSystem.write(gsmAIS, fileType,
                                  encodedFile);
                   } catch (IOException e)
                        e.printStackTrace();
                   }Example of my GSM decoder:
    private File decodificar(File FileIn)
              AudioInputStream ais = null;
              File in = new File(archivoCodificado.getName());
              File FileOut = new File("decod" + in.getName());
              try
                   ais = AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(in);
              } catch (Exception e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
              if (ais == null)
                   System.out.println("cannot open input file");
              AudioFormat.Encoding targetEncoding = AudioFormat.Encoding.PCM_SIGNED;
              AudioInputStream pcmAIS = AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(
                        targetEncoding, ais);
              AudioFileFormat.Type fileType = AudioFileFormat.Type.WAVE;
              int nWrittenBytes = 0;
              try
                   nWrittenBytes = AudioSystem.write(pcmAIS, fileType, FileOut);
                   System.out.println("AudioDecoder: written (bytes): "
                             + nWrittenBytes);
              } catch (IOException e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
              return FileOut;
         }I think that it might be well recorded but it doesn't works, giving and exception. I think that its all right because the number of byts in my GSM recorded file is about the tenth part of a PCM lineal file, and when I try to reproduce it with winamp for example it detects a sound track but it can't calculate the length of the GSM file(wav extension I mean)

    QuickTime Player X does not export WAV. You could use QuickTime Player 7, which if it's not in your Utilities folder already can be installed from the Optional Installs on the Snow Leopard install disk, but you'll need to purchase a QuickTime Pro key.
    Regards.

  • Conference bridging between VoIP and GSM calls

    Hello, Can E61/E62/E50/E70 do conference between one call that's running on GSM and second call running through SIP client on VoIP? Thanks, Bilal

    I tried to connect the GSM call to VOIP call on E72, but it has not happened.
    I presume this may be the case, also there may be a solution for this.
    VOIP Connection:
    For VOIP calls the network uses an existing external IP address to transfer the information from the a server.  The information received vide VOIP shall be transformed into voice which enables us to here the data conveyed by the server.
    GSM Connection:
    For GSM calls the network uses the intermediate service provider slot to convey the information as a signal throught the network. The signals are the direct output we hear as sound.
    By my observation, in my mobile, the two network actions (VOIP and GSM) can be performed instantaneously or simultaneously.
    The mobile needs a medium to convert either the GSM output signal (audio) to Internet packet data (bytes) and the VOIP software installed in mobile should recognize the same audio as an input and allow for a conference call.
    or
    VOIP call get converted into GSM signal.

  • Classic 80gb... Error 1429 and 1430

    I bought a classic about 2 weeks ago, and have filled half of it with 5 or 6 gb of songs, and the rest is tv shows, movies, etc. However, tonight, when I decided to sync it, it wants me to do a restore as it may be corrupted. I do so, but it says it cannot complete it, and I get an error initially of 1429, and then 1430. The ipod itself 'works' to some degree, except for shuffle, and it only wants to play tracks when you secifically request them, if you know what I mean. I'm a bit miffed to be honest. 2 weeks and it decides it wants to crap out on me. Will the Ipod store do an exchange, or will I have to jump through hoops to sort it out? I'm connected to it via a brand new macbook as well, so I'm not in the greatest of moods now!!! :'-(

  • CDMA Iphone 4S and UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA?

    Quick question, if I purchase an off contract Verizon iPhone 4S and get it SIM unlocked from verizon, does this phone support the UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz) bands? My understanding is that it does support the GSM/EDGE bands, but I'm a little unclear if it does the other ones or not.
    My plan is to purchase it off contract and have the option of using it on Verizon or AT&T's 3G networks if needed. (Not at the same time)
    Does the AT&T and Unlocked 4S only support the UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz) bands?
    Thanks

    Verizon does not unlock iPhones, even when off contract. The SIM socket and GSM support are for international roaming only.  If you want to use an iPhone with GSM carriers, you need to purchase an unlocked GSM version (AT&T doesn't unlock iPhones either).
    The GSM frequencies and standards the iPhone 4S supports can be found in the tech specs:
