CDs Suddenly Not Importing...?

I was putting CDs into my CD player and they were opening in iTunes for Importing. Suddenly, I am unable to do this.
I just put in a BRAND NEW CD into my CD player and it won't open in iTunes. What is happening? What else can I do? Is there a setting that I altered somewhere?

Im running windows 7 64 bit. installed itunes 10.5.4.1 and now cds will not import or play. If i have the cd in the drive and then open itunes it will importor play but after removed the next disc will not read. the system has passed the cd/dvd test.

I ve tried completely removing itunes and reinstalling. also unchecked autocorrect and find art and track names which did not work as well. Any ideas of how to fix this?

Also dell has included a temp read in the dell support center. temp is 30 right now. Also listed was the max temp. in the pcs lifetime as 43.

LR3 suddenly not importing

i'm using LR3 on a Mac Mini with the latest OS, I've been using a MacBook Pro with the same OS previously. Suddenly on my the mini RAW files are not importing.

Actually ACR 4.x that is used by Photoshop CS3 is not fully compatible with LR3 develop.
When I tried this yesterday I got a pop up menu asking how I wanted to open them on photoshop.
And how did you open them?
What adjustments do you make that are not visible to CS3?
You better set up Photoshop as a secondary editor and launch it with Ctrl+Alt+E instead of Ctrl+E.

CDs are not importing anymore!

Now I dont know if this is a hardware or software issue because this is a new laptop and I hadnt used iTunes 7 prior...
But a lot of my CDs just wont import in iTunes. I put the disc in, the drive spins very fast, making lots of noise, then iTunes starts to slooowly import. The disc slows down a little, pauses, slows down more, pauses, slowwws down... until finally it stops and hangs up my system and I have to wait for a few minutes before Im even able to eject the CD.
Ive checked the discs, there are no physical issues with them, in fact they play fine and import correctly on my old iMac DV!
I fear this is my DVD drive, but cant be sure. Anyone have any guidance?

Back up your files then download and apply the Combo updater below. When you have done that go to software update and apply all you are shown. Then try again. It is a big update but necessary if you are still on 10.6.1 as your profile suggests.

Why won't Lightroom 2.3 suddenly not import RAW files?

Why can't I import RAW files into Lightroom 2.3? I've imported them for years, until today, after I installed a Canon Pixma MX860 multi-purpose printer. Would this affect Lightroom? Now I get a Lightroom message: "The files could not be written." Tried to import from Canon 5D on a CF card and from a Panasonic Lumix on an SD card many times. Same result. I can pull the RAW files individually off the cards into Photoshop CS3 RAW window and adjust them, but can't on Lightroom. It won't automatically import the files and won't take them manually. Am using a PC with XP Professional. Any thoughts?

Are you sure it's the same problem as that user had?
What error message are you getting when you try to import a raw file?
What camera?
What version of LR?
What computer and operating system?
Did your ability to import raw files just suddenly stop, or have you never been able to import them?

PC CDs suddenly not readable

I've suddenly come across a problem, which I'm not sure I understand at all... My Macbook Pro has stopped being able to read PC burnt data CDs. CDs that have previously worked. I get the "The disk inserted was not readable by this computer" error. They work in my old PC laptop, BUT, I booted up in Boot Camp on my Macbook Pro and it only saw the CD as a blank CD, so I'm guessing it's not an OS problem.
Just to make things even more clear, PC burnt audio CDs STILL work, and Mac burnt data/audio CDs still work. So it also doesn't seem to be a problem with the optical drive itself.
I'm a bit miffed...

I have the same issue, a CD I just got with some images doesn't read on my iMac or my MacBook Pro. I just get the message: This CD is not readable or something similar.
I see a lot of people with the same issue but no answer.

CDs will not import comletely

I am using Windows Vista and have sucessfully import cds in the past. However, lately it starts to import the songs and then just skips over all of the track. Maybe a couple of the songs are imported to the library along with all the track names. Howver, most tracks are unavailable. I upgraded my firmware and have tried everything I can think of.
How can I get my cds to import.

Did you also look for an Intel or VIA chipset update on your Sony support site?
Have you cleaned the CDs to make sure there is no dirt on them? Are the CDs that hang badly scratched?

You passed the test!
I wonder if the album has been given a title you don't expect, or it has the title "Greatest Hits" and has been placed into another album by the same name (you know how so many of these bands have Greatest Hits albums!) and you didn't notice when the album was imported. (The track details did appear when you imported, didn't they? If not, everything woud have been given names such as "Track 01, 02, 03" and "Unknown Album".)
Have you looked for the album by both artist and by the album title?
So, use the Search facility in iTunes to look for the album name or some of the track names, or even the artist. Do you get any results? If you do, check the details to see if there is anything amis, such as mis-typed titles or artist names.
Typically, an extra space at the beginning of the title, or "uran Duran" instead of "Duran Duran" (no, not my taste either). If you find anything wrong, you can correct it by using File/Get Info and re-typing in the appropriate box. Note that if you need to change things for several tracks, make sure you find all the tracks that need to be re-named.
If you haven't found anything so far, try using the Search facility in Windows Explorer to find one of the tracks. If you find the track, at least you will then know where the files are located. This will depend on whether you followed the advice Limnos gave you in the post you created. If you have, then I guess you have made some sort of progress.

Sounds like you may need to repair the Disk Permissions on your drive where your images are stored.

ITunes 10 Will not Import CDs

I just discovered that iTunes 10 will not import audio CDs. Once you insert the CD and iTunes launches, the CD disappears from the desktop. It is not there in the finder window nor in the iTunes window. This occured on all three Macs I tried it on and occurred with about four different audio CDs.
Apple Technical Support people duplicated the problem on their Macs and have referred this to engineering. If you plan on importing audio CDs in the near future I suggest not installing iTunes 10 now.

ITunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows 8 Not importing CDs

When you put the disk in it starts playing the CDs and there's no way to stop it from playing. I've tried going into "Controls" and pushed "stop playing" and the option wasn't even available (grey). The Arrow button on the top left is also indicating that nothing is playing (in other words it still looks like an arrow and not the pause symbol). So basically according to iTunes...the CD is not playing. I even tried playing another track in my library and they ended up playing simultaneously. Also importing is very slow...an hour for 1 cd.

Just putting this out on the web for those that encounter it, not necessarily the original poster as I'm sure solved by now. I have a new Dell running Windows 8.1 and iTunes update 12.1 got error 193 and would not install, I tried numerous methods listed here. The folder some said to delete did not exist. uninstalling and reinstalling did not work. Rebooting to an earlier restore point did not work. I cannot say what will work for others, but here is what DID work for ME: Do not browse to the Apple site and download iTunes in Google Chrome, instead use Microsoft Explorer. When I went that route a different pop up box appeared asking if i want to repair or uninstall. (Repair did not work), selecting uninstall Then downloading the 64bit version (which I need) fully and successfully installed- not just saying it did, but actually working. I opened it up and re-synced to my iPhone 4s. Viola! (Btw, the day prior when purchasing an album over 3G not wifi all my stored music mysteriously disappeared, which ironically is what caused me to update iTunes to 12.1 but maybe this is unrelated, but both problems solved now. once iTunes was running again, everything was still in the cloud not lost just downloading to phone.) My IPOD Classic is not synching to my itunes library so the songs in the library are not placed into my IPOD. This happened subsequent to my laptop crash and it was restored. I downloaded Itunes and was able to transfer songs and I also imported music from cds into library. However, when I click on SYNCH nothing happens and the songs in itunes library are not imported into my ipod.

Are they configured to sync to your iPod from under the iPod's music configuration tab in iTunes? See this article for more help and assistance on syncing music to your iPod Classic.

SUDDENLY I PHOTO 6.0.6 DOES NOT IMPORT MY MOVIES FROM CANON SD 450.

Suddenly I have a problem importing the movies taken by my canon sd 450 into iPhoto 6.0.06. I don't remember if I had imported any others after updating iPhoto, but I have never had this problem before. I tried using Image Capture to bring in the AVI's, but they imported, but iPhoto would not import them, and Quicktime could not open them, saying that Quicktime could not "parse" the movie.
Any help?

Some things to try
1. Check that you have the latest version of Quicktime - it's 7.1.5
2. Check the Canon site for updated drivers for your Camera
3. Try installing Perian
