CDs wont burn!

I am having problems burning CDs. After this new update now i get and error message saying "the attempt to burn disc failed. The device failed to respond properly, unable to recover or re-try". I have had my mac for almost 4 years and have never had problems burning CDs until the new iTunes and new Mac update. Please help!

Try if switching any of those additional settings (play music while ... etc.) has an effect.
Other people having an similar problem have "solved" it by dragging the music titles from the windows explorer into iTunes.

Wont burn cds

can you please help me!! itunes is driving my crazy!! cds would burn fine, but all of a sudden its coming up with this "the attempt to burn a disc failed. an unknown error occurred 4450", i have adjusted the burning speed and used different cds but that doesnt help atall. what can i do to fix it?

The last failed audio CD burn had error code 4450(0x00001162). It happened on drive D: QSI CDRW/DVD SBW-241 on CDR media at speed 8X.

burning software yet to see if the problem with still
exsists with iTunes.
I was having a problem burning--kept getting error messages halfway through the burn--different messages--sometimes 4000 and sometimes 4261. The last time I tried to burn a CD I noticed that I had some unchecked songs in my burn playlist. I also figured out that the error would occur shortly after it encountered the first unchecked song. I again tried to burn the playlist removing the unchecked songs and it burned with no errors.

Have you tried using a different brand of disks? Some work better than others.
Does it eject all disks or only some? Only blank disks or some that have already been made? Commercial disks or burned?

When the computer was new, I had the same issue I have now. It was new and I could not burn to play on a reg cd player. Today, I can not burn to play on a reg cd player. Inbetween, I could not burn to play on a reg cd player. I keep giving up and then trying months later.
I have recently made the cds that play on the computer. I have also tried in the last month to make a dvd copy, it played. I have gone to people's homes and tried the cd's burned in my computer. They are not recognized. This last round I have only used the cd-r but have tried many others in the past. I am running out of money to keep buying different brands, kinds, etc. I figured it must be my lac of knowledge and am trying to get some new here.

I found this on a Roxio forum, but it offers the best advice I have seen anywhere about this error.
Basically, it is most likely the media or the speed you are trying to burn at. It could be a few other things, but those are the most likely culprits.

Dvd wont burn movie all the way

The dvd is 4.7 GB and the movie is 4.1 the dvd wont burn the whole movie it stops a little before the movie is over. HOw do we burn a long movie onto dvd?

What is the total playing time of your movie? iDVD 5 has a 120 minute limit, including menus, in the Best Quality setting or a 60 minute limit in the Best Performance setting. The size of the files is not the determining factor, just the playing time.

iDVDpref. file resides.----> Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences
and is named. (one or more of these)
com.apple.iDVD.plist
com.apple.iDVDApp.plist (may be ? - not sure this exist)
and find
com.apple.iApps.plist
While iDVD is NOT RUNNING - move this/these file/s out on to desk-top.
Now restart iDVD.
If You run Mac OS X.7 or more - then the Library in the User-account folder is invisibly and need to be set to be viewable. IT IS NOT in the Library on Root level (when opening MacintoshHD - first window = root level)
( It can be done like this: Open Terminal, then enter: chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press return, then restart, and it will always be visible until the next major update, when you do the same thing again. )
But there are better ways to do this - but as I'm only in Mac OS X.6.? - I have no hand on know how - but the above way works if carefully done.

Wont burn or back up purchases

i have just bought a brand new ipod classic 80gb. and bought a few albums off itunes.
but every time i try to burn the albums the drawer ejects the disk, there all blank cd disks.
apple support told me to erase all apple applications as i did. and installed them again but still wont burn.
now getting a error code of 2131.

I would always bounce my Logic 7 files to an SD11 file and burn through Itunes but since I did the update Itunes wont burn sd11 it just has a message saying itunes cant recognise files it will burn Aiff's but that means I have to change so many files should I go back to the previous version or am I doing something wrong I have checked the pref / burn panes and it only gives me aac........

Audio CDs do not contain track information. For commercial CDs this information is supplied by the Gracenote service (see below). Each computer gets this information for a particular CD from this service, it isn't on the CD. You would have to register your CD with Gracenote. In my opinion this is a bit much for a personal CD that only a few computers in the world will ever see, but I guess unless they block it then you can do it.

Wont burn--says blank disc is full

Hi there,
Having a problem with iphoto 5.04, trying to burn 446 meg of photos to a disc. When it asks for a blank disc (have tried 3) it comes up saying the disc is full and wont burn it.
sound familliar? is there a way around this? am i missing something?

I have the same issue today.
Since I had a problem of booting so that I reconstructed library by using option start. However I cannot back up the library images to DVD now.
Toast works so that this is not Pioneer superdrive issue.
