CDX-M30 losing power

I have a marine CDX-M30 marine stereo in my boat. If the stereo is not turned on for a month or so, it looses all the stations/time (as if it lost ground and/or power). This occurs on its own, IE I am NOT cranking the engine, lowering the voltage below 12 volts. As long as I turn on the radio at least once a month, even for a moment, there's no problem. I checked for any updates for the unit, there are none. This is the second unit, (the first one, same model) did it more often. West Marine replaced the unit with this one, it has only happened once since (I turn the radio on weekly).
The battery is a class 27 and is always on a charger. I have replaced the main line, also replaced with new connectors from the battery to the main console. The stereo two hot lines and ground are wired direct to a SS power distribution block under the console. All connections are spotless. There are no fuses inbetween the battery and the power distribution block. All accessories are fused after the block. Note: the time clock on the Yamaha gauge does NOT loose time.
I was told by Sony the memory is stored in the main head, not the removeable face plate.
Any idea's???????

I suggest you contact our Technical Support team for further assistance: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/contac ... mdl=CDXM30

  • Losing power/signal and no internet connectivity for WRT54G2-RM

Just installed router and using Motorola SB5101 cable modem and Comcast.  Followed instructions  and the router has lost losing power and needing restarts a few times.  Have it installed by ethernet cable to my desktop, and using laptop (XP Pro Thinkpad P42).  Cannot get internet connectivity and also loses wireless signal connection.  I know there are a number of similar posted issues, and I am new to this forum.  Any ideas?

Download and upgrade your router's firmware, reset and then re-configure it...
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
    Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • Wifi losing power and disconnecting

    Hi,
My mid-2014 MacBook Pro keeps disconnecting from wifi intermittently, whether in use or in stand by. I reset the wifi and it reconnects after some time searching. The errors in the wifi.log each time this happens are below. I suspect there's a problem with the wifi adapter circuit so it's actually losing power, but I was wondering if anyone else had this issue and found a solution that didn't require a replacing the hardware?

Wifi problems seem to crop up a lot on here and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a 'one fix' solution.
However, sometimes any one of the following can help although, unfortunately, not always. In no particular order:
Check wifi security - if it's WEP change it to WPA or WPA2 (preferably, as it's more secure)
Change the wifi channel on the router
Create a new Network Location: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5289
    Reboot the router

  • IMac randomly losing power

My 2006 Intel CoreDuo iMac has started randomly losing power. Without warning it will just power off as if someone has switched the wall socket off.
I've managed to power it back up again about 4 times after which it just does it again.
Once power is lost the only way I can get it to work again is to keep taking the memory out, putting it back in, try to switch it on, take it out again, put it back in, try to switch it on again, etc. until randomly it works again!
I've tried resetting PRAM by unpluging everything leaving it 15 seconds and then nothing... I've also managed to do a CTRLCOMMAND+PR when it was working.
    Now it's gone again
Anyone any idea what might be the problem here?
I have no AppleCare so the iMac is out of warranty and the internal DVD drive no longer burns properly either. Should I give up on this Mac and put the money towards a new iMac (with AppleCare this time!) or is it going to be worth trying to get it fixed. My thoughts are that the local Apple Service Centre might take ages to determine the problem and try various things and then might not even be able to fix it.
Could it be the logic board? Power supply?
How much is a new logic board and DVD burner?
    Thanks,
    Neil

My iMAC was doing the same; it finally died and wouldn't power at all. The tech at the apple store stated they have seen a few bad power supply cables that are the cause of the issue.

  • Losing power to USB keyboard after upgrading to Maverick

Hi. Since upgrading to Mavericks 36 hours ago I've been losing power in my USB keyboard fairly frequently. Re-plugging the USB into the port works, but not for long. Anyone else getting this, and any fixes? Thanks all.

    Same here
    The situation I have :
During i type something, typeing suddenly freezes ( looked, like system became unresponsive) and after some time (1-3 secs) all that i previously typed appeared.
So it looked like keyboard was keeping all i typed in the buffer, and flushed entire buffer to the system.
During this stuck i tried to type something using MBP built-in keyboard -and all was very ok there, so problem is really in the USB keyb.
I tried to change batteries in it, but it didnt help , unfortunately

  • K8N Neo Platinum, USB devices keep losing power

    I have a K8N Neo Platinum with a 3000+ AMD 64 chip...
I have a USB problem whereby my wireless USB adaptor just keeps losing power, when I look at the adaptor itself all the power has gone and no lights are on. Unplugging the device and re-inserting it does not get any response from windows. Also, after this has happened, my other USB devices (ie mouse) continue to work fine UNLESS I unplug them and re-insert them. If I do this they also will not power back up. I've tried various adaptors from Netgear and alll of them have the same problems, its like they are causing the USB on my system to fail.
This happens with both the motherboard rear ports and the case front ports and is really driving me mad. Running XP Pro SP 2
I have this problem a couple years ago, and now I've gone back to using the same machine after a reformat the same is happening again. I've installed the latest nFoce drivers and in device management I've turned OFF power management for the USB Root Hubs but it's still happening.
    Any ideas?

Check to see if there is a wire running from your Front USB ports to the #10 slot of your USB block which connects to the motherboard header.
USB connector block layout which corresponds to the pin layout on boards with the Intel spec for USB. Do not cut the pin on the MOBO. You are removing/cutting the wire to the connector block from the case.
    2 4 6 8 10(this wire, #10, not needed)
    1 3 5 7 9(filled/key)
If you find a wire leading to the #10 spot on the block, remove that wire. My block has tabs so that you can pull the wire out, or you could snip/cut the wire leading to that position--if you cut the wire, be careful to cut the correct one and cut it in such a way that it may be repaired if you make a mistake.  Make sure you wrap the wire, the exposed end/s, you remove/cut with electrical tape so as not to accidentally cause a short. I actually folded the wire back and wrapped it.
2 posts to read--Here and Here.
This seems to be a common issue involving many different case manufacturers. I don't know how it applies to other MOBO manufacturers, but in these forums it is not limited to a specific MSI model or supported chipset(Intel or AMD).

  • 8330 keeps losing power and rebooting

my curve 8330 keeps losing power and rebooting, does anyone know how to fix this, tried cleaning battery terminals but did not work.

I also have a 8330 and it does the same thing.  It randomly resets (like a master reset as it takes a long time to reboot) throughout the day.  I am a Canadian user and talked to Bell who told me I had to send the phone in.  I went to one of their stores and sent the phone away for 2 weeks.  I received it yesterday as it was "repaired".  I had it less then 24hrs and again it reset about 12 times during that time.  I am also not able to activate Enterprise since the repair.  My company exhausted it's options to help me set it up but they determined the is a hardware issue.  So The problem is worse now.  I have tried with and without media card and it doesn't change anything.  I have waste days with Bell trying to resolve this issue as technical support on the phone confirms that it is a hardware problem.  I have now had to take the phone back to Bell for repair again.  I am shocked with Bells attitude concerning this problem as I have talked to numerous customer service managers that tell me that I have a contract with them to provide the "service".  They don't seem to care that the hardware doesn't allow me access to their service.  I am also amazed that they don't care that a customer has to waste time on tech support phone calls and traveling to their stores to ship the phone back to Blackberry.  As well as my company that wasted time setting up my "loaner" phone then my regular phone after repair and then again a "loaner" phone when nothing was fixed.  When does Blackberry get involved and make the customer happy?  I am surprised that the cell phone providers can not issue a new phone when there is a hardware problem under warranty.   I was told by Bell that Blackberry typically needs to see the phone 5-7 times before they will issue a new one....  This translates to the customer doing 10-14 trips to the store and a large amount of time setting the phone back up each time...
Unless something happens fast, my company is buying out my contract with Bell and I will be switching to a competitive smartphone.  This is unfortunate as I like Blackberry but can not stand the support.  (since I can only talk to Bell as Blackberry won't talk to me directly and only directs me to my cell provider)
Very Frustrating.  But a hardware problem for sure.

  • M30-842: Power Calibration error while burning DVD-RW

Can you please try to use roxio software built into Windows XP? There is also the same option. It will be interesting to know if this problem is caused by software that you use or if there is some malfunction of your device.

  • Losing power and turn on issues

My ipod is relatively new and recently after I am done listening to it, I turn it off. No matter how much battery power it has when I shut it off (and most of the time is is almost a full battery), I have trouble turning it back on again. I hold the reset buttons for more than 10 secs while plugged in. It takes several attempts to turn it on, and that is if it even turns on. And when it does the battery is completely drained. My battery lasts for a very long time when I am actively using it, so i am confused why it is losing battery when it is off. And I am assuming that the loss of battery is why I am having issues turning it back on. Is there anyone else out there with this issue? I would take it to the ipod store, but the last time I took an ipod with an issue in they told me I woudl have to just trade it in because they dont do hardware work.

    Welcome to the discussions,
ddi you already reset your ipod by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes up again?
Also check this article about saving battery life: http://www.apple.com/batteries/ipods.html
If you use an exchange account or push service for your mail account, delete it and set it up again, maybe it got stuck trying to connect to the server, which will use a lot of your battery life.

USB mouse + opther USB devices
    Netgear WG121 & WG111T wireless adaptors.
any ideas? I'm planning to reformat and rebuild otherwise

I don't know what you mean by USB wireless adapter, but if you mean a USB wireless Hub, it could be the following: If you are plugging the Hub into a USB port on your case, the case USB wiring maybe different from your motherboard, and is grounding out your hub.
This happened to me, I have a K8 Neo Plat board in an Antec case, the USB pin configs are different; and my case ports won't work. They gound out all my USB ports if I leave them plugged into the board. I moved my self powered USB hub to a back USB port and disconnected the front USB ports from the motherboard and now it works fine.
Another reason for the problem could be that you have so many USB devices plugged into your board that you are overworking your power supply. This happened to me too. I have six ports available on the board and I'm using them all. This caused my PSU to overheat. I had to go to more power.
I don't think it's a Windows problem, unless Windows is losing track of the devices. If they show up in your Hardware Profile but still don't work, I don't think Windows is the problem and reinstalling it won't help.
But, if you have installed SP2 over XP SP1, that could be the problem. You may need to do a clean install of SP2 and then reinstall the drivers for all your USB devices. I would get the latest drivers for everything from each mftrs web site.

  • MacPro suddenly losing power - what log file(s) can I check?

I've been having a strange problem over the last several months where my MacPro will suddenly turn itself off. It's exactly like a power failure, but only the computer is affected (monitor, other devices all fine).
I bought a UPS thinking that it was a line problem, but the machine still turns itself off once in a while, anywhere from once or twice a month to three times a week.
I suspect it's being caused by something connected to the computer, but there's not too much there - a USB hub, printer, iPhone, a couple of iPods, and a gaming headset.
What log files on the Mac can I check for possible causes to this problem? I tried looking through the Console Messages app for log errors, but there's so much there I was overwhelmed by data.
Can anyone suggest a specific log or two to inspect, or any troubleshooting techniques that may identify the problem? Anyone ever have a similar problem?
    Thanks!
    -Joe

This isn’t too helpful, but I’ve been having exactly the same problem over the last couple of weeks. It doesn’t seem to be power line (printer and other stuff on the same line don’t go down). Oddly, it turns itself off and then reboots (though I do NOT have reboot after power failure checked).
Two things I’m presently focusing on are (a) the fact that, at least the last few days when I’ve been logging the problem, it ALWAYS does this about 8:15 a.m. Doesn’t matter whether I’m at the computer using it or not. (b) Always, always, always when it’s happened I’ve had Microsoft Word open. But I almost always have Word open, though I’m going to make sure that I don’t have it open at 8:15 tomorrow morning.
Reset PRAM, checked the disk with AlSoft’s Disk Warrior, and downloaded and am currenty running Symantec’s AntiVirus. Can’t think of any likely viruses that would do this, but it seems worthwhile to me to check. I’m going to check fonts for badness of some one or more, and I’m this moment downloading an update to Microsoft Office that is supposed to make it more stable. But an application shouldn’t be able to force a power-down and reboot.
I’m going to the Apple store tomorrow to ask for advice there. My one post here hasn’t gotten any suggestions.
It’s not an obvious kernel panic (i.e., not the usual kernel panic message). Just a little power click, black screen, and a few seconds later a reboot.

  • 27" Monitor flickering then losing power

    Hello,
At the office we have a 4 year old 27" apple monitor. For the last two weeks it's been flickering occasionally and on a couple of times lost power altogether. Now it only holds power for a few seconds.
If I unplug the power and leave it for a few seconds/minutes then put the power back in the back comes on for a few seconds to a minute, flickers and then turns off.
We've test the cables with another monitor which we bought at the same time and they work fine.
It leads me to believe that capacitors on the board of the monitor have failed. As the warranty has expired are there any exceptions in this case or do I need to go buy a new set of caps and soldering iron?
    Appreciate any feedback.

My problem is that unplugging the monitor does not help.
By changing the resolution a few times I can fix the screen flicker problem but then get a single verticle line of horizontal lines on the right side of my monitor that increase in speed as time goes by.
It is the lesser of two evils so I just use 5/6 of my monitor and cannot see the lines against a black background.
