CE 590 as content router?

I have a CE 590. How can I reconfigure it to function as a content router? or is this diable?
Thanks

You can configure the CE for transparent caching but would still need a router to redirect the traffic to the CE. You will not be able to configure the CE to act as a router. Couple of docs that you can refer to: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/117/cache_engine/transparentconfig.html

  • OWSM content routing issue (fs/crouter)

    Hi,
    I am using OWSM console to implement content routing. I am following the steps mentioned in the administrator guide for OWSM.
    However, I am getting stuck at the very last step of content routing.
    Replace the endpoint URL with the following URL:
    http://host_name:port/gateway/fs/crouter
    It is not excepting/invoking anything when I replace my wsdl url with fs/crouter.
    Please help.

    Please reply if anyone has faced the same issue...or has resolved this issue.

  • What is difference between content switching, content routing...

    Hi friends,
    I want to know differences between content switching, content routing...
    I want to know too, if a Content Engine 566 can caching FTP, HTTPS, Video and so on....
    Regards and thank you.
    Raúl.

    A content engine can cache files transfered via ftp but not https [as the content is encrypted].
    It can cache whatever file, including video, audio, ...
    Content routing, content switching are just names.
    They refer to how the traffic will be intercepted and forwarded to the content engine.
    You could simply use a proxy solution and have your users setup their browser to use the content engine as a proxy, or you could transparently intercept http/ftp traffic via a router running wccp, or you could use a Layer7 device like a CSS to intercept the traffic and redirect to the content engine.

  • Config content router dns record

    Does anyone know how to config the DNS record on the content router

    The FQDN mapping on the Content Router (CR) is received from the CDM based on the configuration of the Websites in the CDM. When you are configuring a website on the CDM, populating the 'Request Routed FQDN' field will cause the CDM to inform the CR that it should start responding to DNS requests for that domain.
    In short, there is nothing that needs to be configured directly on the CR -- all of the configuration happens on the CDM.

  • Content Routing in JMS?.

    Hi All,
    Is content based routing possible in JMS queues?.
    If we have one sender JMS queue, and it posts 2 messages.. one with employee structure.. and other with bank information structure..
    with 2 separate structures for separate interfaces.. can XI communication channels pick up the message and route it to the correct interface?.
    If so is there something special that I need to impletement?.
    Please advise.
    Thanks!.

    Any thoughts on this?.
    Thanks.

  • Content Routing in hiearchy

    I have a SCCM 2012 SP1 CU3 "example" environment containing:
    primary site in Europe (DP is not actively used)
    secondary sites in Europe, US and Asia (DP's are used)
    10 DP's in Europe, 10 DP's in US and 10 DP's in Asia
    What I want is:
    Packages are created at primary and distributed to all DP's. I want to be sure that the content of the packages first go to the DP's at the secondary sites and AFTER that being distributed from the secondaries to the DP's.
    Also the DP's in Asia may only get the content from the Asia secondary site DP.
    Also the DP's in Europe may only get the content from the Europe secondary site DP.
    Also the DP's in US may only get the content from the US secondary site DP.
    How will I ensure that this flow will be followed ?

    I will try to complete my case with some more information.
    I have about 12000 clients. 4000 in Asia, 4000 in US and 4000 in Europe. They are managed form a primary located in Europe with lines to US and Asia. Currently all is configured and connected in SCCM 2007 and it will be migrated to SCCM 2012.
    In 2012 we decide to use secondaries at the main region locations which also function as the MP for that regions (4000 clients). The MP traffic is then throttled to the primary.
    Within a region we do have 10 DP's now in SCCm 2007 which are currectly shared with SCCM 2012. That works fine. But we also want to migrate those DP's to become SCCM 2012 DP's and we want te ensure that package traffic flow is minimized. So we want to send
    packages from primary to secondary an dthen to the DP's.
    We also do not want to reinstall the DP's since they have about 300GB of data and the lines are small. So what is the best way to go for ? migrate the DP's to SCCm 2012 DP's will assign the DP's to the primary i guess. Then we send e.g. 10 times a package
    to US and that is not what we want. Could I change the DP to a Pull-DP with remaining the data on it ? Could I change the traffic flow of a DP to be change from primary to secondary ?
    Hopefully you guys can clear some thing for me....

  • CE-590 and Router

    I have a stand-alone CE-590 connected to 72xx ISP router,located outside of our PIX. When WCCP service is enabled, download speed (tested using DSLExtreme site) is about 11MB, but if WCCP is disabled (or simple unplugged cable from CE), then download speed jump to 22MB.
    The part of config is below:
    Router:
    ip wccp web-cache
    ip wccp 53

    ip wccp 91 redirect out
    ip wccp 98 redirect out

    wccp rtsp router-list-num 1
    wccp dns router-list-num 1 l2-redirect
    wccp version 2
    Any help will be appreaciate.

    Thank you for the reply. And I have some more info now.
    I did play with L2 config and left it on, but L2 doesn't effect the speed. I have no control of ISP router, I can only call them and ask for some changes (to add, to remove, etc). Their engineers can not explain to me why they need the Loopback interface, but take a look at the output of SHOW WCCP ROUTER comand and part of router's configuration. May be this is the reason???
    As you can see no Serial (Internet) interface is involved....
    X.X.X.X - is Router's Ethernet0
    Y.Y.Y.Y - is router's Loopback interface
    Z.Z.Z.Z - is Router's serial interface

  • Content based routing and XML with multiple objects

    I have some structure:
    <contracts>
      <contract>
         <department>1</department>
      </contract>
      <contract>
         <department>1</department>
       </contract>
      <contract>
         <department>2</department>
       </contract>
    </contracts>
    I need to route contract to 2 system based on <department> value:
    contracts/department = 1 --> System1
    contracts/department = 2 --> System2
    Will XI split my XML (based on Content Routing rules in ID) into 2 structures (with departmet=1 and department=2 accordingly) ?
    Or I have to perform 1ToN mapping? I don't like it bacause it will be diffucult to monitor hundred of messages.

    Alternatively if you donot like 1:n mapping and BPM.
    Create two message mappings in the IR
    1.Source :<contracts>
    <contract>
    <department>1</department>
    </contract>
    <contract>
    <department>1</department>
    </contract>
    <contract>
    <department>2</department>
    </contract>
    </contracts>
    Target:
    <contracts>
    <contract>
    <department>1</department>
    </contract>
    <contract>
    <department>1</department>
    </contract>
    Basically mapping generates a target structure which has only department 1.
    2.Same like step1 but the mapping should generate the XML with department = 2.
    Once requires steps are done in the ID , do the content based routing in the reciever determination and give the appropraite message mapping in the interface determination.
    That should your problem and also you will like doing it as it does not involve any split level mapping..:)

  • How to I get my Edge animations to work in Content viewer on the ipad?

    I've created several animation in Animate, they preview fine in the browser. I have placed them into InDesign, they preview fine on the desktop. I upload the to view via the ADobe Content Viewer on my ipad - nothing. I have tried using the Web Content route and placing the html file, still nothing. I've checked for updates of everything and appear to be up to date. Need help!

    On an iOS device, or on a computer without iTunes installed on it, you can view your last 90 days purchases (and optionally contact iTunes Supportif you have a problem with a purchase) via http://reportaproblem.apple.com
    You can only view your full purchase history (not just the last 90 days) via a computer's iTunes : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it, click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases

  • Content Engine caching video content?

    I am currently running ACNS version 5.5.11.2 on a CE510 Content Engine. I recently had to replace the unit and when I set up the partitions for the new build, I elected to go with CE510#disk config sysfs 10% cfs 45% mediafs 45%.
    Before the cfs was setup to use the whole box. I was thinking that the mediafs partition would start to cache video content. Does that happen automatically or is there some other setting to make that happen further. How do I determine if it is getting any use?

    A content engine can cache files transfered via ftp but not https [as the content is encrypted].
    It can cache whatever file, including video, audio, ...
    Content routing, content switching are just names.
    They refer to how the traffic will be intercepted and forwarded to the content engine.
    You could simply use a proxy solution and have your users setup their browser to use the content engine as a proxy, or you could transparently intercept http/ftp traffic via a router running wccp, or you could use a Layer7 device like a CSS to intercept the traffic and redirect to the content engine.

  • Trying to migrate to routed mode

    We have multiples css11k configured as bridge mode.
    The firewall has direct connection to all DMZ (one vlan per DMZ) and it is the default gateway for all servers. The CSS11K is connected to all DMZs and using the group NAT to relay traffic to the real servers. The firewall does NAT for public to private VIP.
    We are trying to migrate to routed mode so the servers can capture true source IP addresses, reduce the number of default routes in the CSS and remove the public VIP NATed in the firewall (to setup content rule VIP using the public ip address).
    A new test DMZ is setup and it is connected by CSS and the real HTTPs servers. A test ip address is
    configured at the firewall without NAT and the firewall is configured to route the incoming traffic to the CSS through one of the existing DMZ. The content rule of the CSS is configured using the test public ip address. I can see traffic in/out through the two sniffers I setup (between f/w and CSS, and CSS and real server). Most of time, we cannot get page displayed. The firewall log showed all traffic in/out through the correct interface. The sniffer showed data retransmission, tcp rest, tcp out of order .....
    Any suggestion.
    p.s. The ssl certificate is associated with the public ip address. The server is working fine if we connect the firewall directly to the new test DMZ and have firewall does the server IP NAT.

  • CSS & CE Reverse Proxy Caching - Freshness and Content - Help !!!

    We have a pair of 11054's and a pair of 570 CE and a pair os SCA's and using them in a RPC configuration in front of a series of static content web servers.
    My problem is I want the CE's to server content even when the origin server(s) are down but where the content is cached fresh or not. So of if the cache has the content, serve it no matter what its freshness. I don't want to have a sorry server used unless the content isn't cached at all.
    Or can I pre-position content on the same CE and have it server from there. What content types can be prepositioned ? Is someone going to tell me I need a content router now of something ?
    Anyone have any bright Ideas ??
    Thanks

  • CSS routing versus switching

    Can I deploy a CSS 11501 to just route requests to several reals (not phiscally behind the CSS) on separate network segments?
    I looked at Content routing Agent but this feature is just for DNS requests...I would like to do the same but for different traffic on different ports.
    Thanks
    MANUEL

    with the CSS you can have the reals several hops away.
    However, you have to be careful that the response from the real server goes back through the CSS as well.
    This is a statefull device so it needs to see all the traffic [like a firewall].
    If you can't guarantee this, you need to configure client nat on the CSS, to force the response to come back to it.

    Gilles.

  • Content rotuing with switching

    Hi
    What is the difference between content routing and content switching. Are they required to be integrated together or are they seperate solutions. With content routing we use the DFP,BCP, WCCP and other protocols to receive information. Are these protocols used with the Content switching as well or does this act in a different way.
    Thank you

    Hi
    I came across these products which are the 4400 series describing itself as the Content routers. In one of the presentations from Cisco I see the deployment of both the Content router as well as the content switch in a single data center setup. The packet goes to the content router and then to the content switch. But I am not sure why this is required. On reading the description of the content routers I see they do the exact same thing. To put it in a nutshell when would you deploy a Cisco 4400 Series Content Routers and when a CSS11500.
    The following URL is about this contenet router
