CE SR3 Installation clutters desktop

Hi,
as mentioned in a previous post the CE SR3 installation from SDN placed 124 log, control or other installation files on my desktop which were not cleaned up. I had the package extracted in a normal folder and started the installer from the start.html page.

Server authenticationerror after SR3 installation

Hi,
We have developed a html page ( page1.htm) in that we are setting some xMII session variable and opening a new page (page2.htm) using window.open.
In page2.htm i am getting xMII session variable and calling a transaction as below.
window.location.assign("http://<server>/Lighthammer/Runner?Transaction=<transactionname>&OutputParameter=FILE&DOCNO=123*IsBinary=true"). This transaction actually downloads a file from SAP.
This is working perfectly before implimenting SR3 installation. But now system is showing a login screen. SR3 installation might not be issue it might be with something else. But we are getting this issue after SR3 installation.
It will be great helpful if anyone can help.

Just now I tried using reletive path. "/Lighthammer/Runner?Transaction=sdasa&OutputParamter=adsa......". Stil it is showing login page.
But when I cheked logs it is showin this message.

SR3 Installation Quesiton

I am in the process of upgrading from 4.6C to SR3 on Windows 2003 and MS-SQL 2005, and I noticed that SR3 is only for 64bit, so I am planning to upgrade my 4.6C to SR2 on 32bit and then move the DB to 64bit fresh installation of SR2, and then upgrade it to SR3 on 64 bit Server.
Please let me know if this is what I should be doing?, or is their a better way to do it
Questions.
1. Can I upgrade 4.6C to SR2 and then SR3 on 32bit and then move the DB to fresh installtion of 64bit SR3.
2. SR3 installation is not giving me option to select Unicode or Non-Unicode system, but SR3 installation lets me choose that option.
3. I am missing the Installation Export 2 DVD for SR2, where can I get it or download it.
Any help is appreciated.

You can circumvent that problem if you don´t use "/tmp" as installation directory but a different directory. I always do a (as root)
mkdir /install
cd /install
<path-to-sapinst>/sapinst
This will also make things easier since you don´t have to step deeply into nested directory structures...

Netweaver SR3 Installation - No option to install SAP System

Hello,
We are trying to install NW04s SR3 from the DVD shipment.
We have started the installation master CD:
51033511_11
However, in the SAPinst, we do not see an option to install SAP Netweaver system.
The options under SAP Netweaver are:
Standalone Engines
Optional Standalone Units
Software Lifecycle options
Can someone please tell us if SR3 installation is possible, or we need to upgrade from SR2 ?

It seems that you must be attempting to install on a 32-bit platform. Please see Note 1052298:

Cluttered desktop: slow computer

Hey all,
I've heard that if my computer's slow, having a cluttered desktop can be part of the problem. I've got what may be a dumb question here. Is having a folder full of pictures on your desktop different than having an alias on my desktop that leads to a folder of pics in my user directory as far as impact on processor? (hope that made sense.)
OR is a cluttered desktop a bad thing simply because of all of the icons that need drawn?

I try to organize my desktop every couple weeks, as I generally use it as catch all for projects. Keeping folders and color coding them helps. After I finish a project, I will use a "Current Projects" folder in my Docs folder, and back up there. I also dragged that folder to my places sidebar, so it shows up in any finder window, that helps!
You may want to open activity viewer when it seems that your computr is running a little slow, and see if there's a hidden cuprit. Could be an app or 2 is using a good bit of juice, and that is slowing down everything.

SR3 installation on solaris10 - unable to open file error

I am installing Netweaver 7.0 system BI, ECC ,Portal on solaris 10 and oracle 10g database. I am using SR3 installation Master for solaris sparc 64. During installation i come across errors such as 'Error : SP2-0310 unable to open ora_query3_tmp1_1.sql" .When i check in the 'sapinst' directory i see that this file has only read permssions. When i change the permission to full and rerun sapinst, again the same error appears. When i check the permission for this file, it is again in read only mode.
What is happening is, sapinst creates this file with rw-rr permission each and every time i run sapinst. i set the umask of the root user from which iam running the install to '000', but still the same error. root user is part of sapinst group. i checked all possibilities but couldn't get rid of this error. Seems like a bug in SR3 for solaris.
Has anyone come across this error before. If so is there any fix for this.
Would award points for whoever come with solution to this.

BS 2005 SR3 Installation Master Solaris on x64 64bit

Hi,
According to the SAP's Product Availability Matrix, DB2 is a supported database for installing SAP Netweaver 7.0, however when using the sapinst in BS 2005 SR3 Installation Master Solaris on x64 64bit, there is no option to select DB2 as the database.
Does anyone know if there is a workaround or another Installation Master that we can use for this?

Ok. I double checked - you´re right. The new CD/DVD set with Solman 7.0 doesn´t support 32bit any more. I HIGHLY suggest to install SolMan on 64bit, you may not be able to use all functionality.
Now back to your problem:
Can you open the file? Is it there? There seems to be a permission problem...

CE 7.1 SR3 installation/startup issue - enserver shuts down

I'm trying to work with the CE 7.1 SR3 and I'm hitting a startup problem.
When the server is being started, from both the installation process (installation completes without falling over) and when starting from within the SAPMMC I get an error message that windows displays.
"enserver.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. etc..."
The above message will be displayed a number of times and then within the SAPMMC the "enserver.EXE" will stop (turn gray). I have tried uninstalling and starting again, but get the same errors.
Any help would be great...

NW SR3 installation issue can't find NW export DVD 3/3

Hello,
I'm pretty decent installing SAP on unix and I'm now learning on windows 2008 R2 SP1/MS SQL 2005. I'm also accustomed to downloading the NW install master, export CD's and unicode kernel dvd. So here is my question:
I'd like to just install NW 7.0 SR3 ABAP only to play around and kick the tires on windows. I've downloaded the following DVD's to start the install:
NW Install Export 1 of 2 51033493_1
NW Install Export 2 of 2 51033493_2
Install Master windows x64 51038621_13
NW 7.0 SR3 UC-Kernel 7.00 Windows Server on x64 64bit 51033508_15
I've already installed MS SQL and SAP jre. SAPINST runs fine up to the point where I point it to the NW export DVD's. There are only 2 export DVDS for an install but 3 DVDS for an upgrade. The install is failing trying to find the third export DVD, but there are only 2 for an installation. I've also doubled checked my install master was correct as well.
It's probably something simple, but I'm stuck....

I was setting up a distributed landscape. I had already installed the global host and I was receiving this message while trying to install the database instance. I've since started to download NW 7.3 for Windows. I spoke with a co-worker and it made sense for a demo landscape to use the latest version. I hope to have better luck with 7.3.

System SLES 10 SP2 and all patches applied. IBM Java 142 v 10 (latest from OSS note for x86_64) but tried also with SLES provided sun java (same error).
All steps from 958253 has been applied, 1125951 suggest installeion of "pdksh" shell but that is not available in SLES - ksh is installed, saplocales version 3 also.

I'm using ECC 6.0 SR3 fresh downloaded instalallation disks and DB6 9.5 from SAP service.sap.com.

Finally i've resolved this problem. You can't use /db2/SID/sapdata(n) directory as a your sapinst installation directory becouse sapinst is setting strange access rights to whole /db2/SID tree and sidadm user can't do any activity below.
It's my first SAP DB6 based instalallation (i've done dozen of times on Oracle and there it was possible) and this is new for me.
Note 967123 is describing this problem "ABAP: Error in step extractMigrationMonitorArchive
The installation aborts in step extractMigrationMonitorArchive.
Solution:
Download a patch of MIGMON.SAR from the SAP service marketplace
(for more information see SAP note 784118) and extract the archive as
user <sapsid>adm into the current installation directory
(using SAPCAR with the option '-xvf')
Then restart SAPinst or re-execute the step."
And it looks that user sidadm is unpacking MIGMON.SAR.

I am planning to install these components on my desktop.
Hyperion Essbase - System 9 Release 9.3.1 Server Windows Installer
Hyperion Essbase - System 9 Release 9.3.1 Client Windows Installer
I have a doubt whether this will work in my machine because they have mentioned x86 and Itanium in the corresponding cell.
Do i need to use x86 CD for installation or the other one?
Please advice me whether i am in the right direction.
