CE Trial (Updated 13 June) J2EE Server startup error

After a succesful install of the 13 June Trial, I am having an error in starting the J2EE sever instance. The symptons are:
On SAP management Console jstart.exe is in status "some processes running"
In the directory "D:\usr\sap\CE1\J01\work" the file dev_server0 has this entry:

The computer it is running on is Windows Server 2003 SP1. It has 8gb of memory & 4 processors.
I have tried the boot.ini settings  of /3GB & /PAE with no luck. The only major non Windows services running are the MaxDb & SAP software (as well as antivirus & backup).

From the posted error log, it seems that you tried to install CE on the D drive. If the problem is not yet resolved, I would suggest the following:
1. Uninstall the existing MAXDB installation first and then the CE installation.
2. If uninstalling is not fully successful by any chance, then manually delete the content of D:\usr folder (including D:\usr).
3. Restart the machine.
4. Install it on C drive. Make sure you have all the pre-requisite software mentioned in the html based installation document.
I faced a similar problem while trying to install CE on the D drive on a Win XP machine but it got resolved in the 2nd attempt when I tried on the C drive.
Wish you all the best.

    Thanks

    Hi,
it seems that you try to deploy your application but it's taking a very long time that exceeds the timeout.
Are you deploying your application from Eclipse (oepe) or from the admin console ?

It looks like you already have a program listening on port 7000 or 8000. If that is the case, edit the container's configuration file to another port number (or do the same for the other program that is listening on that port).

    Can anyone help me out.

    You don't have to call[i] FacesContext.responseComplete().
There are several reasons for that error occurring.
    !) Low VM size memory
    2) The server went out of memory.
    3) etc...
Put a trace of the error in here.

  • Problem in starting J2EE server, Syntax error in DOS

    OS: Windows98
    j2sdkee1.3
    jsdk1.3
    Hi, guys:
I try to run the example of J2ee Tutorial sample code but I find that that the setenv.bat in j2sdkee1.3\bin has sytax error in MS DOS in the following lines
    set JAAS_OPTIONS=XXX=YYY
    set SSL_OPTIONS=XXX=YYY
    set LISTEN_OPTIONS=XXX=YYY
I don't understand why they have such a problem. Didn't they even try to run J2ee server on Windows ? Can't believe such irresponsible development is from SUN.
    Can anyone help ? Thanks

    Hi, Guys:
I found the answer base on my research and other's topic answers, especially thank Laughton Jackson.
    #1) Change setenv.bat
    ***********OLD*****************
    set JAAS_OPTIONS=-Djava.security.auth.policy=%J2EE_HOME%\lib\security\jaas.policy
    set SSL_OPTIONS=-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=%J2EE_HOME%\lib\security\cacerts.jks
    set LISTEN_OPTIONS=-Dcom.sun.CORBA.connection.ORBListenSocket=SSL:0,SSL_MUTUALAUTH:0,PERSISTENT_SSL:1060
    set JAVACMD=%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java -Xmx128m %SSL_OPTIONS% %JAAS_OPTIONS%
    change the above to
    **************NEW*****************
    set JAAS_OPTIONS=-Djava.security.auth.policy
    set JAAS_OPTIONS1=%J2EE_HOME%\lib\security\jaas.policy
    set SSL_OPTIONS=-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore
    set SSL_OPTIONS1=%J2EE_HOME%\lib\security\cacerts.jks
    set LISTEN_OPTIONS=-Dcom.sun.CORBA.connection.ORBListenSocket
    set LISTEN_OPTIONS1=SSL:0,SSL_MUTUALAUTH:0,PERSISTENT_SSL:1060
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%CPATH%
    set JAVACMD=%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java -Xmx128m
Notice that we break those lines of the format
set XX=YY=ZZ and add set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%CPATH%. Those env variables look very confusing at first. Actually they are nothing but tools that the original person who wrote this script uses to saving his typing !
    #2 Change j2ee.bat
    ************OLD********************
    %JAVACMD% %LISTEN_OPTIONS% -Dorg.xml.sax.parser=org.xml.sax.helpers.XMLReaderAdapter -Dorg.xml.sax.driver=org.apache.crimson.parser.XMLReaderImpl -Djms.home=%JMS_HOME% -Dcom.sun.jms.service.jdbc.dbpath=%JMS_DB_PATH% -Djms.properties=%J2EE_HOME%\config\jms_service.properties -Djava.security.policy==%J2EE_HOME%\lib\security\server.policy -Djava.security.auth.login.config=%J2EE_HOME%\lib\security\login.config -Dcom.sun.enterprise.home=%J2EE_HOME% -classpath %CPATH% com.sun.enterprise.server.J2EEServer %*
    Change the above to
    ************NEW********************
    %JAVACMD% %SSL_OPTIONS%=%SSL_OPTIONS1% %JAAS_OPTIONS%=%JAAS_OPTIONS1% %LISTEN_OPTIONS%=%LISTEN_OPTIONS1% -Dorg.xml.sax.parser=org.xml.sax.helpers.XMLReaderAdapter -Dorg.xml.sax.driver=org.apache.crimson.parser.XMLReaderImpl -Djms.home=%JMS_HOME% -Dcom.sun.jms.service.jdbc.dbpath=%JMS_DB_PATH% -Djms.properties=%J2EE_HOME%\config\jms_service.properties -Djava.security.policy==%J2EE_HOME%\lib\security\server.policy -Djava.security.auth.login.config=%J2EE_HOME%\lib\security\login.config -Dcom.sun.enterprise.home=%J2EE_HOME% com.sun.enterprise.server.J2EEServer %1 %2
Notice that we changed "com.sun.enterprise.server.J2EEServer %*" to
    "com.sun.enterprise.server.J2EEServer %1 %2"
    Good luck

  • J2EE server startup problems

    Hi
I downloaded the J2EE development kit the other day and installed it on my laptop. When I ran 'Start default server' the J2EE server started up. This worked fine for about a day but now the startup bat file quickly executes and the server does not startup. I then installed it on my desktop to find that the same thing has happened. after a few startups. Does anyone have any ideas what might be the problem.
    Thanks
    John

Have the batch file redirect its outputs (both stdout and stderr) to files, rather than to a console window that closes immediately.
Redirecting stdout to a file is like this:
    ... >toafile.txt
Redirecting stderr varies between operating systems (I think) but is something like this:
    ... 2>toanotherfile.txt

I am very tense and trying to start it since two days. Can anybody help me and explain what's wrong with that. thanks
    Fahad Ahmed

    Hi fahad !
i know this is common problem when u put j2ee.jar from ee sdk to ur local jdk extension ...now wht u have to is ...remove j2ee.jar from ur jdk's extension and restart the system..then simply start jdkee again .. i m sure no error will be waiting for u :)

Hi You should set the correct values for following env. variables before running ur server:
    J2EE_CLASSPATH
    JAVA_HOME
    classpath
If u have already set these variables just paste their value and your OS name.
Editing the user configuration script is a required step during the installation procedure. On UNIX systems the user configuration script is in bin/userconfig.sh, and on Windows it is in bin\userconfig.bat.
You are facing this problem as classpath is not properly set and JVM is unable to load javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet

    Nicholas,
You are correct that some of the files are missing.
The r3startup service is gone. it was there and now gone after the PL 24 upgrade. This service per SAP was set to manual anyway.
The additional-lib/iaik_jce_full.jar was never part of the install, this file doesn;t exist either. The OSS note recommended the following be installed:
    iaik_ssl.jar, iaik_jsse.jar and iaik_jce.jar
    and the com/sap/jdbc_driver_references/Opta2000.jar...
the Opta200.jar file exist but is zero....
What do other Solaris EP 60 SP2 Patch4 folks have one there machines?
    Thanks
    John

  • HTTP Server startup Error

I am unable to restart the HTTP server service after I tried to install Discoverer Administration suite.
I get the following error at startup of service.
"The procedure entry point OCIUserCallbackRegister could not be located in the dynamic link library OCI.dll"
This has made our development job to a standstill.
An early reply would be highly appreciable.

    Dear Ashwin.
I face same problem. This oci.dll file is located on forms or reports server's bin folder. What i can do is just rename this file. For example if oci.dll is their then rename to 'copy of oci.dll'.I think this should work.
    Thank you.

  • Weblogic Server Startup Error.

    Hi All,
I am using weblogic 9.2 and bea workshop. I am trying to start the server in debug mode. But I get the error saying that "Server could not be launched within timeout". Because of this I am unable to debug the application.
Can anybody tell me how to fix this.

I believe there's a setting in Eclipse/Workshop preferences that controls what the server start timeout value is. On challenged boxes you'll typically have to increase this value to prevent this situation.
