[Ceased] Gummiboot blackscreening but operational

So i've just performed a fresh install of arch linux on a dual boot UEFI system. The other OS I'm using is windows. I installed gummibot as my bootloader, to the same EFI partition windows uses. I set gummibot to correctly boot Arch, which it is doing.
However there is a very frustrating detail: gummibot doesn't display anything on the screen. The screen merely stays black until the timeout period of 5 seconds I configured expired. Then it successfully boots Archlinux and the OS in itself displays correctly if and only if I have nomodeset on my gummiboot options. If I don't it displays all the log messages (I've got loglevel set to 7) and they all seem ok but it just never jumps to the login screen afterwards.
I tried installing the nvidia packages through pacman but that didn't seem to help.
My graphics card is a GTX970 so I was wondering if it has something to do with how new the card is. If I switch my graphic card to the integrated intel on the motherboard it works fine.
I would love to provide some log files but I must confess I looked around /var/log and couldn't find the relevant logfile to provide. I know I'm supposed to try and figure this out myself but I've been banging my head against it for a long while now and I can't figure out what's wrong.

Can't Find Popular Sites (but Opera/FF can), Can't Find Popular Sites (but Opera/FF can)

I've run out of ideas.
Safari just plain won't surf to Google, Yahoo, and many other sites most of the time. Sometimes it will.
Opera and FF get there instantly... to all sites.
So I can't assume it's a Comcast problem.
I've trashed safari, and cache, and extenstion, and Reset and Cleared Cache.
After the reinstall it finds sites quickly for a minute, then stops. (no difference).
I've tried disabling DNS prefetching from another tech note about this problem.
What can one do besides trashing all things Safari and starting from scratch?
This is Safari 519 on SnowL 10.6.8.

PC Suite installs ok, but "operation failed" on si...

PC Suite installed fine, no error messages. Previously, I had no troubles.
A day or two ago, the version of Nokia Software Updater was itself updated, to 1.4.98EN
Now, whenever I attempt to install a sis or sisx file, from Windows, I get an "operation failed" error, from Nokia Application Installer. This happens whether or not I have PC Suite configured to install apps to either the phone or to its memory card.
Also, When I connect my phone to my PC, I can no longer browse either the phone's memory card, from Windows. Windows Explorer can detect the presence of the memory card but, when I select the memory card, Nokia Phone Browser gives me the error "The operation could not be completed".
However, Nokia Phone Browser can access the phone's memory, just fine.
Has anyone else encoutered this, particularly after Nokia's updater was updated? Is there a solution?

Good catch, cricfancy. I missed the PC Connectivity solution. This time, I sorted the installed applications by Publisher and found all that were from Nokia, including the PC Connectivity Solution.
I uninstalled all of these:
Nokia Software Updater
Nokia Photos
Nokia PC Suite
Nokia Flashing Cable Driver
Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
PC Connectivity solution
Rebooted PC
Ran CCleaner Registry Cleaner
Rebooted PC
Reinstalled Nokia PC Suite 7.1.18.0
Nokia PC Suite requested direct cable connection to the E71 phone
During the Nokia PC Suite installation, Windows Media Player spiked an error (I didn't realize any portion of WMP was even running). That's been happing a lot, recently.
Windows installed the connectivity drivers and Nokia PC Suite indicates the phone is connected.
PC requested a reboot.
All the USB drivers Windows was unable to install, the last time around, are now installed correctly.
And the result is:
I still cannot browse the phone's memory card, from Vista. Phone's memory is visible to the PC, just fine. Interestingly, the Settings for Nokia PC Suite (destinations for music, video, installs, etc.) defaulted to folders on the phone's memory card. When I drag and drop media, on to Nokia PC Suite's Windows desktop app, the files transfer just fine to the phone's memory card. But, this does not work for text or MS Office files (Excel, Word, etc.). Those spike a "unable to copy the file on the phone" message, from Nokia PC Suite.
It appears, for the time being, that my only alternative is the use Mass Storage as a way to access the phone's memory card, from Windows Explorer, in order to transfer data files that aren't media.
And, "operation failed" is still what comes up, from Windows, when I attempt to install .sis files with a double-click in WIndows Explorer.The workaround, though, is to drag-and-drop the .sis file, from Windows Explorer, on to the Nokia PC Suite desktop app.I can live with that.
I'm going to consider this problem to be more-or-less closed. I mean, I understand the workarounds needed.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Phone 6822 connected but operations fail

My Nokia PC Suite browser shows my phone (6822) is connected but when I try to transfer files I get an "operation failed" message. What can I do to correct this?

Please take a look through this guide, Sending and Receiving Faxes with the HP Officejet 6810 and Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One Printer S.... In the frequently asked questions portion, under I can't send or receive faxes. What should I do? It states:
Step one: Check the physical connections
Disconnect the telephone cord from the printer and phone jack, and then examine the connector on the end of the cord. Make sure that the cord has only two wires. If you see four wires, replace the cord with one containing only two wires.

Safari fails but Opera works

I am trying to reach a web site using Safari on my iPhone 3GS, but it fails to connect (although it worked a month or so ago). When I try to reach the same web site using the Opera app it successfully connects.
Any ideas as to why and how to get Safari working? Updating OS didn't help.

so forms[0].myform is duplication - looking for the form twice.
When debugging javascript, I would suggest writing into the address bar like this:
javascript:alert(document)
javascript:alert(document.myform)
javascript:alert(document.myform.myelement)
It executes the javascript directly from the address bar. Building up the javascript expression, you can see where you take a "wrong turn"

Zsolt,
The {600} error is reporting an issue with the database.
What version of iDS have you installed? All the latest versions will require an 8.1.7 or 9.0.1.3 database.
I suggest you get the latest patch for the database and bring it up to 9.0.1.3.

Web browser (opera) not working

Could someone please tell me what the ultimate solution for this problem was? I am having the exact same experience. I have one of the newer 1X coverage, $9.99/mo. data plan. All the other apps (mobile email, backup assistant, facebook) work fine for more, but opera mini freezes my phone and then it restarts. It's brand new, and I'm pretty frustrated with it.

DT2013, the Opera Mini application is a 3rd party application. I apologize that we are unable to correct issues on that app. However, I recommend that you delete the app and then redownload it again to ensure that it has the latest software to function correctly. Layout issue in Opera browser

I'm currently working on my first iweb site and I'm nearly ready to upload it to the host server but I'm experiencing an issue with the layout in Opera.
Safari, Firefox & Chrome all display the layout of the site correctly when viewing from my local drive but Opera is missing both the navbar and the top of the site is squashed.
A picture is easier to describe this so please have a look below:

This is probably because the field is not wide enough. Check the horizontal elasticity property of this field (and possibly the frames around it).

Error while creating external operation in Routing

Hi Freinds,
I am creating an external operation in a routing and I enter the purchasing info record which is created for the material.
But when I try to enter this info record in the external operation then I get the Error: "Enter info record without Material"
Already info record is created for this material then what could be the problem. This is stopping the routing creation .Please help.

If the material is procured by means of subcontracting process, then we need to assign in the material master MRP2 view with special procurement key 30, create the BOM for the material, which would contain the components which would be Issued to the vendor. In this case you would be performing all the transaction with referance to the Output material number, so an Inforecord of SubContract category needs to be created with referance to the Output material, where you Issue the components and you can recieve your material.
In case of operation subcontract the PR or Purchase order would be with account assignment to the production order and not with referance to any material, so there wont be any referance to any material number (Product), you can Issue components for processing, but when recieving it is again not with referance to any material but operation delivery.

Opera 11.0 will not upgrade it's flash player however firefox will

Ok i'm going to give my information. I have windows xp sp3 pro 32bit. I upgraded internet explorer to flash 10.3.183.7 and I upgraded firefox 3.6 but opera will not upgrade. I do not get a error notice but when I do the upgrade and then check at the adobe site firefox has upgaded but opera hasn't. I have administrative rights so what do i do now? I tried having firefox download and save then open. I tried having opera do the same and i tried just having opera open using run?

Ok this is what i found. I have been on this for most of the day. I found out that opera is using a firefox plugin for flash in program files/mozilli/firefox/plugins/nppdf32.dll. Now firefox is using the flash plugin that i downloaded in windows/system32/macromed/flash. I have no clue how to link them and the plugin folder in opera is empty. In the windows system folder that has flash in there are four objects,two are active x for internet explorer and what's left is a flashutil10w_ plugin and flash10w.ocx'. I have no clue if I can link this folder to opera. i was going to try and download a flash player for portble opera browsers but I'm too confused.Can anyone give me a idea? i have looked at almost every opera flash instalation guide and the more i look at the more confused i am. Thanks I know this is not great reading. I'll stop back later.

I have created a new sql agent operator but operator is not appearing in the drop down box when setting up email notification for job failure?

Operation number field not appearing in the billing document

Recently we have done EHP5 upgrade and after that operation number field is available in the sales document but operation number field is not available in the billing document. Any idea why ?

Check what patches have been put in EHP5.As it is related to field.,its better to check the configuration settings and if everything is fine then,its better to take your technical team help by checking where the operation number field is getting updated in the sales order and check whether the operation number field is coming blank in billing document or not.

Gummiboot error : file system is not a fat efi system partition (ESP)

I am at the point the guide tells me to do some specific work because I got UEFI motherboard
I did a fat 32 partition (type ef00) of 1G , which is my sda3
I created a dir /mnt/boot
I mounted the sda3 there
I type pacman -S gummiboot
result is File system /boot is not a fat efi system parttition file system
error: command failed to execute correctly
I don't get what I did wrong or what I understood wrong in the wiki. My partition is fat32, I try to install the bootloader gummiboot there but I take that error msg even if it's indeed formated as fat32.
edit: i've run the pacstrap -i /mnt base , everything worked smoothly and fast.

The \EFI\boot\bootx64.efi spot on the ESP is special. It is the "default" spot, which was originally intended to ensure that a UEFI USB flash drive, or other external media, would be able to boot. So in those cases, there is obviously not going to be a firmware entry as there potentially are for internal devices. So with external media, it finds the first ESP it can and automatically boots whatever is placed in that position. After a while, this feature started to be implemented to the internal devices as well.
This of course has its benefits, but also downsides. It means that you can actually boot UEFI without making an efibootmgr entry at all. You can instead set the machine to boot from the device (as though you were booting with the old MBR system) and have things set to UEFI. It will then, like the external devices, find the first ESP and then boot the \EFI\boot\bootx64.efi, whatever that is. But this also has made it so that different installers will "compete" for that default spot. So although gummiboot copying itself to that spot is in my opinion, convenient, I believe the microsoft installer will also make an attempt to write over this as well. Hence, it is better (but not essential) to have a firmware entry.
As far as the efibootmgr mounting issue you had, it may be that the info is not in the beginners guide simply because of the recent changes to the efibootmgr binary. See this section of the UEFI wiki page to understand what happened. Baiscally there is a new system in the kernel for EFI variables, and we have now switched fully. But I also agree with jasonwryan here that it is also likely that there just simply has to be a balance between providing a nice up to date layout of the installation process in the beginners guide, while not totally regurgitating every single but of information from the rest of the wiki.
