that's the support software for the windows drivers once you already have windows installed.
either way it doesn't matter. i found a version of Bootcamp assistant 4, and tried it, but it still errored, said something about files couldn't be moved or some such. wanted me to clone my HD, format, then replace the image and try again.
sorry ain't nobody got time for that.

  • [Target] - Partition definition is not valid: [Cell count mismatch: [1814427] area for slice [1] members per dimension [67 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 51 531 ]]

    Hello Everyone,
I am receiving the error : [Target] - Partition definition is not valid: [Cell count mismatch: [1814427] area for slice [1] members per dimension [67 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 51 531 ]] when trying to validate my transparent partition.
Because of some issues the data is not getting reflected at the target database.
    Please suggest some solution.
    Thanks in advance.

I would exercise the following steps
1.Copy the original partition script in a notepad
2.Open one source outline and target outline applications in EAS Console in vertical mode.
3.Check the partition members coming from both source  to Target application are in sync, by checking the source members and target members in the respective cubes ,if  any new member got added in your source partition intersection then you need the member in the target too,if they are not ,then cell count mismatch will occur.
4.Since its a transparent partition target the shared transparent areas of the data source and data target outlines need not be identical. The dimensions and member in the data source maps to each dimension and member in the data target. You need to define the definition of mapping
5.Create partition either using maxl or using create partition in EAS .
In your case 1 partitions has the cell mismatch counts ,since you are able to retrieve the data for 3 partitions in the target applications

  • Unable to choose foreign key when creating reference partition

    Hello
I have 2 foreign keys on a table. I am trying to choose the 2nd foreign key when creating a reference partition. I am unable to select the required foreign key.
The model has Table A -> Table B -> Table C. Table A has a list partition. Table B is the child of Table A. I created a reference partition on Table B. Table C is child of Table B. There are 2 FKs on table C. I am unable to choose the required FK to create reference partition on table C.
    SQL Developer version - 3.0.0.665
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
The FK that can be selected is normally the oldest FK that was created for the Table.
So one option would be to delete and then recreate the FK that is selectable. This process may need to be repeated if there are several FKs that are "older" than the one you wish to use for Reference Partitioning.

  • Input / Output Error when creating GUID Partition on External Drives

I've been trying to setup an install of OS X on an external device and therefore need to partition them to the GUID Partition Scheme.
I've tried it with my iPod and an External Hard Disk Drive and no matter what I do, I get the error:
Exited with Error: Input / Output Error
Thats all I get. I can partition them with either of the other two choices, but of course those wont let me boot an Intel Based Mac.
The External HDD is USB 2.0, the iPod I've tried both USB and Firewire, and have not had any luck. I know it can be done, but am not sure why I'm having this problem.
    Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. Trying to format an external drive with the GUID scheme fails.
    # diskutil eraseDisk HFS+ Test GPTFormat /dev/disk1
    Started erase on disk disk1
    Creating Partition Map
error writing partition map: Invalid argument (22)
Partitioning encountered error Invalid argument (22) on disk disk1
I've tried this on my Intel MacBook and on my PPC Mac Mini. Tried using a generic USB2 flash disk and also an iPod shuffle. Always the same error.
Is GUID broken on external drives?

  • Error when creating a partition

I'm trying to do bootcamp on my 2007 iMac with Mavericks. I have a 32bit copy of Win7. Doesn't seem to matter though because I can't get past the bootcamp assistant trying to make a partition. Every time it just says "an error occurred." Doesn't say what the error was, or what to do. Just stops, and says it can't create a parition.
Is it Bootcamp 5 telling me my computer is too old and it can't figure out what to do? Can I get older version of the bootcamp assistant? Will a different one work?
    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Replicated Partition-Cell Count not matching, what to do with Mappings tab

    Hi All
I am creating a Replicated partition between 2 cubes on 9.3.1. The source cube has 8 dimensions(Cube A) and the target cube has 7 dimensions(Cube B).
2 Dimensions in cube A dont exist in Cube B and 1 Dimension in Cube B doesnt exist in Cube A.
6 of the dimensions map directly.
How do i deal with the 2 Dimensions in cube A that dont match cube B? At the moment I have mapped them to (void) in the mappings tab, by just selecting the dimension name and putting void in the target.
Cube B has dimension called SBU. All data from Cube A needs to go against member SBU Input in Cube B. I am stuck as to how to do this?
    Cheers
    Simon
Edited by: SimonWatts on Oct 16, 2008 4:23 PM

I believe the only issue that is likely to be wrong is the need to select a single member in the dimensions that you are eliminating (through a mapping to void). The 2 dims that exist in cube A should be selected as a single member for each, and mapped to void. If you selected the entire dimension in the partition, and only mapped the root to void, you would have a mismatched cell count.
So, change the partition spec to use a single member in those dimensions (if needed), and make sure that the member you select is mapped to void, which is not necessarilly the dimension itself.
Then, you do a similar void mapping to the SBU Input member, "Void = "SBU Input"". That handles the new cell count aspect if the other dimensions line up.
In total, there are three mappings identified from this. Two map source members to void, and one to map a target member to void.

  • CDC table Count Mismatch

    Hi,
We have CDC enabled for some tables in sql server 2008 R2. We are using this CDC table for incremental load on daily basis by providing From date(11/20/2014 12:00:000 AM) and To date(11/21/2014 00:00:000 AM). However, we see that there is a count mismatch
when we query the cdc table between the same time frame after the increamental load completed. Count mismatch is not due to the multiple records beacuse of Operation Flag, We are considering only the distinct Primary Key for taking count.
    Kindly do the needful.

    Hi Visakh,
    PFB the query logic,
    ;WITH CTE
    AS (
SELECT ROW_NUMBER() OVER (PARTITION by CAST(sys.fn_cdc_map_lsn_to_time(__$start_lsn) AS DATE),<PrimaryKey> ORDER BY __$start_lsn DESC,__$seqval DESC,__$operation DESC) [ROWNUMBER],
    sys.fn_cdc_map_lsn_to_time(__$start_lsn) [TRAN_DT],
    FROM cdc.fn_cdc_get_all_changes_DBO_<Tablename>(
    (SELECT sys.fn_cdc_increment_lsn(sys.fn_cdc_map_time_to_lsn('smallest greater than', '11/20/2014 12:00:00 AM'))),
(SELECT sys.fn_cdc_map_time_to_lsn('largest less than or equal', '11/21/2014 12:00:00 AM')),'all update old')
SELECT * FROM CTE WHERE ROWNUMBER = 1
Are you sure count difference is not because of all update old?
When you use all update old it returns two rows for each update ie one with old and one with new values.

  • Fdisk not creating correct partition table

    Hi,
I am trying to use fdisk to create a couple of partitions on an external USB disk but it doesn't do correctly what I ask it to. It seems the problem is the difference in what the CHS (cylinder head sector) info says and what the start/size info says. For example for a 160GB disk with two partitions I would like to have it be (disk geometry is 7296/255/63 [117210240 sectors]):
#: id cyl hd sec - cyl hd sec [ start - size]
    1: 12 0 1 1 - 763 254 63 [ 63 - 12273597] Compaq Diag.
    *2: 07 764 0 1 - 1023 254 63 [ 12273660 - 104936580] HPFS/QNX/AUX
    3: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0 - 0] unused
    4: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0 - 0] unused
But if I try using fdisk this is what I end up with:
#: id cyl hd sec - cyl hd sec [ start - size]
    1: 12 0 1 1 - 1023 254 63 [ 63 - 12273597] Compaq Diag.
    *2: 07 1023 254 63 - 1023 254 63 [ 12273660 - 104936580] HPFS/QNX/AUX
    3: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0 - 0] unused
    4: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0 - 0] unused
So as you can see the start/size info is right, but the CHS numbers are not (the end of partition 1 is not correct and the begining and end of partition 2 is not correct). The commands that I gave to fdisk to do this were:
    fdisk:*1> edit 1
    Starting Ending
#: id cyl hd sec - cyl hd sec [ start - size]
    1: 12 0 1 1 - 1023 254 63 [ 63 - 12273597] Compaq Diag.
    Partition id ('0' to disable) [0 - FF]: [12] (? for help)
Do you wish to edit in CHS mode? [n] y
    BIOS Starting cylinder [0 - 7295]: [0]
    BIOS Starting head [0 - 254]: [1]
    BIOS Starting sector [1 - 63]: [1]
    BIOS Ending cylinder [0 - 7295]: [1023] 763
    BIOS Ending head [0 - 254]: [254]
    BIOS Ending sector [1 - 63]: [63]
    and
    fdisk:*1> edit 2
    Starting Ending
#: id cyl hd sec - cyl hd sec [ start - size]
    *2: 07 1023 254 63 - 1023 254 63 [ 12273660 - 104936580] HPFS/QNX/AUX
    Partition id ('0' to disable) [0 - FF]: [7] (? for help)
Do you wish to edit in CHS mode? [n] y
    BIOS Starting cylinder [0 - 7295]: [1023] 764
    BIOS Starting head [0 - 254]: [254] 0
    BIOS Starting sector [1 - 63]: [63] 1
    BIOS Ending cylinder [0 - 7295]: [1023] 7295
    BIOS Ending head [0 - 254]: [254]
    BIOS Ending sector [1 - 63]: [63]
How can I fix this? I have tried both the CHS method and the default (start/size) method when creating the partitions and neither give the completely correct results. I have tried completely erasing the partition table and recreating it, but nothing seems to give me what I would think should be no big deal. I am puzzled as to how one set of info (ie CHS) does not agree with the start/size info??? I think the 1023 value for cylinders is OK for the end of partition 2 due to some funny WIndows bit of trivia, but the CHS for end of part 1 and start of part 2 should be correct since they are less than 1023.
The disk does have an MBR type partition table. I am doing this on a SATA external drive attached to a USB DriveWire if that makes a difference.
What am I doing wrong? Can I get there using fdisk on my MacBook?
    Thanks ....
    -Bob

Well, I have given up on using fdisk and just decided to edit the raw disk with a hex editor and modify the appropriate bytes of the partition table. The first 512 bytes of the disk contain this info in the following format:
446 bytes of boot code and other stuff
64 bytes of partition info (16 bytes for each of four partitions)
    2 bytes with special 0x55 0xAA values
    512 bytes total
Each partition table entry has the structure:
Boot flag - 1 byte which is either 0x0 or 0x80
CHS Begin - 3 bytes for cylinder, head, sector
Type - 1 byte for what type of filesystem partition 1 is
CHS End - 3 bytes for cylinder, head, sector
    LBA Begin - 4 bytes
    # of sectors - 4 bytes
I found explanations at http://www.viralpatel.net/taj/tutorial/partition_table.php and http://www.ata-atapi.com/hiwtab.html had a couple of examples to study.
So thanks for everyone's suggestions. I just wish that fdisk really worked like it is supposed to without the funny business!!

  • Limited subject characters count when creating a new thread in Portal 7.3 forums

    Hello,
i was wondering if and how you can change the max. characters for the subject when creating a new thread in Portal 7.3 forums.
It seems like the character count is limited to 75 characters for subjects.
I didn't find any suitable property, in the forums admin console, for that issue.
    Thanks

    Hi Andrzej,
Have faced a similar issue in EP 7.01. It was due to the missing Super Admin access - Save was clocking & timing out.
Upgraded the Admin permissions and this issue was resolved.
    Hope this helps.

There are differences between each Mac and what the original configuration of the Mac is/was. If your Mac originally came with an Optical drive, burning the ISO to a DVD and using it will work. Hardware modifications like Optibay will cause problems. Modifying Bootcamp info.plist will cause problems. Disk Utility partitioning will cause problems. A custom Hybrid MBR will cause problems. External Optical drives are unlikely to work. There is long litany of grief.

  • Error when creating partition

I'm trying to partition and install Windows on a MacBook Pro (2012). I get this message when it starts to create the partition:
"The disk cannot be partitioned because some files cannot be moved. Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again."
I checked Disk Utility and it looks like my hard drive is formatted as above. Can you help please?
    Thank you

Just follow the instructions, Backup your disk, Erase your disk, Restore your disk, then you will be able to install Windows.

  • Combine 2 cubes with transparent partition but failed in cell count match

    I have 2 cubes:
Cube A DIMENSIONS(YTD, YEAR, PRODUCT, LOCATION) + MEASURES
    Cube B DIMENSIONS(YTD, YEAR, PRODUCT, LOCATION, BE_TYPE) + MEASURES
Both cubes have the same YTD AND YEAR.
It is comparable for A.PRODUCT,GEN2 VS B.PRODUCT,GEN3
It is comparable for A.PRODUCT,GEN5 VS B.PRODUCT,GEN6
It is comparable for A.LOCAITON,GEN2 VS B.LOCATION,GEN5
It is comparable for A.LOCATION,GEN5 VS B.LOCATION,GEN5
Most measures have the same name between 2 cubes.
    Some are not.
Now I need to combine 2 cubes into 1 for OBIEE usage.
    Criteria:
    1. Include all YTD and YEAR
    2. Combine A.PRODUCT,GEN2 & B.PRODUCT,GEN3
    3. Combine A.PRODUCT,GEN5 & B.PRODUCT,GEN6
    4. Combine A.LOCATION,GEN2 & B.LOCATION,GEN2
    5. Combine A.LOCATION,GEN5 & B.LOCATION,GEN5
    6. All data from Cube B are selected with B.BE_TYPE = 'TYPE_A'
    7. Combine ALL MEASURES FROM 2 CUBES.
So, I am working on transparent partition with source = Cube B and target Cube A inside EAS.
However, I cannot match the cell counts.
Do you have suggestions? Any hints on my cases?

    thanks, in my case,
YTD and YEAR contain the same members and names.
Number of measures of two cubes are the same.
    However,
    1. A.PRODUCT,GEN2 & B.PRODUCT,GEN3
    2. A.PRODUCT,GEN5 & B.PRODUCT,GEN6
    3. A.LOCATION,GEN2 & B.LOCATION,GEN2
    4. A.LOCATION,GEN5 & B.LOCATION,GEN5
the number of members of 2 cubes are not the same. Since the Product ID contained in A.PRODUCT,GEN5 is the not same in B.PRODUCT,GEN6. Infact I wonder how I can make them matched. It is because my purpose is to combine all these different product into one dimension (just like union them into one column), so their number must not match.
Am I correct? How can I handle this case?
