i want to get the 3g and wifi Ipad...but dont want to get the 3g sim until i know i need it (as an option)

Yes you can still connect to WiFi. You can activate cellular when you need it.

If it has been wiped clean then you will not be able to locate it, it will be essentially a new iPhone.

Select the songs, press CTRL+I to Get Info, on the Options tab set Skip when shuffling to Yes.
If you want to the hide the songs from your main music view you could consider changing the media kind to audiobooks or podcasts if you don't mind the side effect of them showing up there instead.

4-5 hours of battery life with heavy usage sounds about right. Modify your usage habits or charge your iPhone more frequently.
What did your wireless carrier say about your texting issue?
Your iPad has a larger and stronger wi-fi antenna. Your situation doesn't seem abnormal.
Train yourself to remember to turn your wi-fi on/off as needed. Set up a location based Reminder if that will help you.
Your cellular data connection issue combined with your reported texting issue suggests there is a problem on the wireless carrier side. Talk to them.

I have 3G, but use my wireless while at home. We are off to the coast for 4 days though, and I have purchased 30 days of 3G, for $14.99, so I can be connected wherever we have signal. If I choose not to keep the data plan after the 30 days, I will cancel until I need it another time. That's the nice thing about having it....if you need it, it's there. Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

Thank you for your reply Domingo. Your suggestion worked as far as sending me a link to buy the book at iTunes. But it did not allow me to download the book from my wife's account. I did finally get an answer from Apple. It took an entire day of emailing back and forth and the final answer was relatively easy once Apple finally decided to give up the solution. Basically, you have to open ibooks and sign out. Then you have to sign into ibooks using the book purchaser's Apple ID and password. Then you can download the book onto your device. Not too bad, huh? It only took a whole day of Apple people sending me wrong instructions before they figured it out. Geez. What a disappointing experience.

I have gotten the range extender to work well with my MacBook Air, however, while my iPhone 3Gs and iPad mini can pick up the wireless signal from the range extender, they cannot get to the Internet through it. Go into the setup page of the EW-7438RPn. Go to Wireless Advanced Settings. There is a WMM settings. Make sure the WMM is enabled.

Well with the MS Hotmail/Outlook.com account that is hard. But she should be able to link all of it to the iCloud system using her Apple ID.
I suggest you do a Google search for "link contacts, Calendars, iMessage with iCloud".
For some stupid reason MS has limited the syncing/linking of only emails and Notes with the Hotmail/Live Mail/Outlook.com system.
They have not included any Exchange features for syncing all that info. That is unless you are using Outlook 2013 and that is only for Windows.

I Have followed these steps, and tried others, such as resetting all my network settings. At best these only temporarily fix the problem - wifi still becomes slow or stops. I have other Apple devices connecting fine to my airport express. why is my iPad mini not working? Is it related to the fact it is 3G and I don't have a sim card installed? It is the current top of the range model with iOS 8.0.2. I paid over the odds for the best, and it is almost completely redundant. Apple - I'm losing faith. I dropped my 17" macbook pro and the screen is broken. Can I still use it with an external monitor? When I plugged it into a monitor I had used it with before, I'm not able to see anything on the macbook screen to control it. It came on but I just got the blue screen with nothing else after typing in my password. I'd like to promise you that everything will be fine if you just get the monitor going - but it's hard to know what the hardware damage might be. It might be the monitor, or the damage might be greater.
Your best solution would be visit your local Apple Store and let them know what your situation is. They have access to diagnostics you don't, and they might be able to the best way to save your data and keep you computing. It's still not covered, but they can tell you what your current options are.
Um, you might consider investing in a backup drive.
