Cellular Data settings needed.

I have in the UK an unlocked 3G iPhone with a T-mobile sim card. Does anyone know what should go in the "Cellular Data" and "MMS" setting areas - where it shows APN, Username, and Password. In effect the equivalent settings to those of O2.

3g ipads works fine in europe it's the same gsm ipad we buy ourselvs

  • Cellular data settings lost after updating iphone 4. How do I return these settings?

    Hello All,
I bought my iPhone 4 from the Apple Store in the UK, the phone was bought "SIM FREE" and hence it is unlocked.
When I used to go to the phone settings, I had the option to change the network settings for my Internet Connection, MMS settings and others.
After updating my iPhone 4 using iTunes, I lost these settings and now I cant configure my cellular data connection.
Does anyone know how to reactivate the settings for the Cellular Data Settings?
    Thanks in advance,
    Raed

You will need to contact the carrier. All supported carrier settings are in the iPhone's database and are applied automatically when a SIM card is installed from a recognized carrier.

I AM USING AN UNLOCKED 3G iPHONE WITH TMOBILE SERVICE
I use to be able to change the cellular data settings, but now out of the the blue. the options have changed!
I would go to Settings>General>Network>Cellular Data> and then more options
now when i get to _Cellular Data it only gives me the option to turn it off or on! like the wifi option_.
It wasnt like this last week and i cant seem to get it back to the way it use to be. Ive reset the network settings with no luck.
Without having the option to modify the cellular data settings i can no longer set my phone up to send/receive picture texts.

Those options were removed in 10.5.6. A well-documented change. Search these boards for more information.

I bought an IPhone 3gs and tried to reset the APN through Strait Talk Wireless but when I click on settings then "General" tab they tell me to click on the "Network" tab but there is not a "Network" tab? After Network, I was supposed to go to Cellular Data Settings but I can't find the Network tab under the General tab. I watched videos and every IPhone I saw had the Network tab but mine don't, can anyone please help this old man fix this new technology, so I can use the Internes and MSM?Thanks, jerry b <><

    Hey electrikn,
Thanks for the question. If your iPhone 3GS has been updated to iOS 6, this setting had moved:
Set network options: Go to Settings > General > Cellular

Now I'm restoring the factory settings (after backing up)... going to see if it works when "clean"...

  • HT4623 After i ugraded to iOS7 the LTE is not appearing anymore only 3G,4G. Before on the cellular data settings LTE is there now it is replaced by 4G.

After i ugraded to iOS7 the LTE is not appearing anymore only 3G,4G. Before on the cellular data settings LTE is there now it is replaced by 4G.

created an account just to piggyback on YardleyFFL, I have the exact same issue with my latest-generation IPad/Verizon data plan & having to press my luck with the exact same type of fixes as he's outlined above except in the DC metro area. *** is going on with that, had I known that I would be costing myself dearly in LTE connectivity I would've resisted the ios6 update.
Maybe this is the wrong place to vent but the IPad's cellular connectivity is one of those perks that make it worth for me to pay a premium for Apple products vis a vis other tablet competitors. For the first 5-6 months I've been really impressed with the speed of the LTE connection to the point I was tempted to upgrade from the iPhone 4s to the latest model just for that capability.
But now I'm extremely weary as the rug seems to have been yanked out from under me here, not that the LTE connection has become any slower when I have the signal, but it's now its impossible to establish the 4g LTE connection in many places where I had four bars before the software update. Would love any answers or recommendations - fairly new to iDevices so maybe it's some mistaken setting I'm using, if so please advise - but otherwise it's left a very bad taste in my mouth, & I commend and co-sign with the poster above for raising the issue.

  • IOS 7.1.1 cellular data settings won't save on iPhone 4s???

I'm using a 16GB iPhone 4s, with the latest version of iOS 7 as of writing this, version 7.1.1 Whenever go to the "Cellular" settings on the main settings page and turn OFF cellular data usage for a lot of my apps except for a few key apps that I need it for (Mainly Mail, FB Messenger App, Google Maps, and What' s App that I leave on), the moment I back out and come back in, almost all the apps I turned cellular off for are back on again. I've tried turning background app-refresh off thinking it was overriding my cellular settings, nothing. I've tried restarting my phone a bunch of times, nothing. Nothing I do seems to fix this issue and it's frustrating because I have the minimum data plan and I can't turn cellular off completely because I don't have a texting plan and depend on iMessages, FB Messenger, and What's App to get messages from people, and a lot of times it can be urgent so I need to figure out how to fix this stupid bug. Anybody else have a similar issue and/or know how to fix this?
BTW , i try to rest the network setting and still same problem.

Check out this thread, where a solution is proposed. (it's technical)

  • Cellular Data Settings

I'm not sure I completely understand the cellular data setting in IOS7. When using facetime it seems to default to using cellular data even when connected to a network. Anyone know why? I don't remember having to mess with any cellular settings in IOS6.
The result of this is a very erratic connection in facetime. Voice cutting out all the time, even had a loud echo during one call.
    Anyone else having this issue?
Do I have to remember to turn off cellular data when making a facetime call while in a wifi network?

  • Cellular data settings question

    Hello,
My iPhone works properly using wi-fi and cellular data. However normally I leave my cellular data off and only turn it on as needed since I have a plan that charges me as I use it. The negatives to doing it this way is I always receive an error telling me I need to be on a wi-fi/data network in order to use the internet if i'm away from a wi-fi network and my data is off which can be a bit annoying, and whenever I just want to send/receive an mms I have to turn my data on. My question is would it be better to leave my data on and just leave the setting for cellular data (the internet part) blank and if I need it I can just fill it in quickly and hopefully I can avoid these few negatives. Would that work for me?
    Thanks,
    rc

With Cellular Data turned on without the setting for cellular data access entered you may still get the error message but there is only one way for you to find this out for certain and that is by giving it a try.

  • My iPhone 5 is taking a lot of time to shift to 3G once I turn on the 3G button in cellular data settings please help. Once on 3G it drains battery very fast

My iPhone 5 is facing problem with shifting to 3G once I select the turn on 3G button.
It either takes a lot of time to change to 3G from 2g or sometimes doesn't change to 3G and I am not able to access the 3G speed.
Need help as it is getting very frustrating as I just upgraded to the latest 6.1 OS and its already facing bugs.

Thanks Chris for your advice. I have done the restoration from both the device and computer as a new device but it doesn't help. Even I have restored my device to the factory settings with standard apps in it without installing any other additional apps,  the phone heats up & I have to recharge at least 3 times  per day. This is abnormal to me.

  • Application not listed in iOS- Settings- "Use Cellular data for"

    Hello,
When i install the IPA of my application, it is not listed in the "Use Cellular data for" list in Cellular data Settings. I would like to know how to add my application to this list.
Also, is it possible to get the Enabled/Disabled status of the my application if listed in the above list.

No, but you could turn off Updates under Automatic Downloads in Settings>iTunes & App Store, then update them manually when you're connected to wifi.

  • Bug that allows match to use cellular data even when turned off in settings?

Earlier today, I mysteriously incurred overage charges on my phone bill because 200MB of data was used while I was on my bicycle. My phone was in my bag. Before I left, I had tried to download an album to my phone from iTunes match cloud storage. It would not download, so I left. Cellular data was turned off in iTunes match settings. Has anyone encountered Match overriding that setting? All cellular data settings for the app store were off and I was not running any GPS function.

I have the exact same problem!
I'm using the iPhone 5 now under Carrier M1 Singapore 13.0 and I have noted that over a period of 2 weeks, my cellular data usage has been about 2.7GB on an average. Since I know my bill has been capped at 3GB, I have since switched off my cellular data.
However, when I switched it on for a few days after using it for awhile, my cellular usage jumped by 1.2GB in just 1 day! And I used it as I would on an average day (like during an average day in the 2 weeks)!
I understand that there have been reports of a bug that have caused this problem in the US.

    http://www.iphonehacks.com/2012/10/iphone-5-cellular-data-usage-over-wifi-bug-on -other-carriers.html
But I'm hoping that there's a solution for those living in Singapore? Do I seek the help from my carrier as well? But if it's a problem with the phone, then my carrier definitely would not help, right?
