    Hey Estelle59,
Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
I would suggest doing a clean reload of the BlackBerry® device software as shown here: http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320. Please test before restoring any data to the device.
If the issue still persists after the reload, further investigation might be required. To help further diagnose the cause, contact your wireless service provider or BlackBerry® Technical Support Services for further review and support.
    Thank you.

  • Center Button Stuck. Anyone else with this problem?

My center button got stuck on June 1st and I took it in to Best Buy where I bought it because I had a warranty on it. They said it had to be sent in to be repaired and I got it back on June 12. On June 20, after playing with it twice since I got it back, it broke again. I took it in to Best Buy again yesterday and they're supposed to be "fixing" it again. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Is so, how and if it was fixed.
    Thanks.

I just got that same problem today - my iPod classic got a stuck center button, and the screen was staying lit with "Do Not Disconnect".
So I used my nylon tool to pry open the case, and the tiny phillips screwdriver to separate the screen cover from the LED screen. I found a web page which shows exactly the condition of the central button, with the misaligned rubber dot:
    http://scrap104.blogspot.com/2008/10/stuck-ipod-center-button.html
It was fairly easy to fix the center button by moving the adhesive pad back, but I would advise to avoid using a metal tool around those microcircuits, to avoid shorting out the CPU. And I filed the edge of the plastic center button for smoother operation.
When the iPod was put together, pushing the center and menu buttons together set it back to normal.

  • Center Button Stuck/Broke

Hey, I have a problem where I just bought my Ipod in mid May this year and now out of the blue my center button is stuck or broke one. I thought maybe it was just stuck and would pop back up, but it doesn't, and now the button works every once in a while, but you have to work with it. I was looking over other topics on here and some people talked about the problem, but I never really heard what conclusion they came to, or if they got their problem fixed. Am I left with the notion of sending it into Apple or is there another option out there? Any help is appreciated.

I know I had the exact same problem. Take the iPod to your locak Apple store and they will give u a new ipod. That's what they did for me.

  • Center button on click wheel is stuck

The center button is stuck--it seems like it is pushed all the way down and does not come back up. How do you fix the center button? The click wheel works just the center button is not work.

If you have not Restored it in iTunes, try it, but that is a long shot.
It probably needs service, if you are in warranty send it to Apple or take it to an Apple Store and make a Genius bar appointment. If not, you might try a 3rd party repair site, such as http://www.iresq.com or Google for more.

  • IPod-the center button is stuck!!!

What can i do to fix my iPod when the center button is stuck??? is there any way that i can fix it or do i have to take it to the apple store???

I'm not sure if there really is a way to "fix" it without diassembling the iPod in some manner.  Perhaps you find or use some sort of tool that can attach itself to the center botton and allow you to pull up to try and pop it out.  Kind of like the way a plunger works, but I don't know if you'll be able to find anything that small. :S
Perhaps it would be worth it to send the iPod to a third party service company who would be able to fix it at a pretty reasonable cost. A simple Google search for "iPod repair" should give you a number of results to work with.

  • My classic is stuck on a blank screen and it won't connect to any device or reset when I hold the menu and center buttons. Any ideas what's up and how to fix it?

I know click hold on and off then hold the menu and center button until the apple logo appears. I have tried this so many times and my iPod Classic is still unresponsive! I've tried plugging my iPod into my Mac, my wall charger, my ihome, everything, but nothing works. It won't connect to iTunes to restore or anything. I've tried leaving it unplugged long enough to let the battery die and then tried plugging it in, a method I've utilized successfully with other iPods but that didn't work either. I really just starting to lose faith in the quality of this product. The first classic I bought didn't work at all and I had to exchange it. This one I bought to replace my 5 year old nano and it hasn't even lasted 7 months! Somebody please offer me a solution and assure me that I didn't waste $250 on a crap piece of technology. I'm desperate!

Although you say you have let the battery drain, was it for long enough? Since nothing else that you've tried so far has worked, I suggest that you leave the iPod unplugged for at least four days, preferably a week. That way, if something is stopping the iPod from turning the screen on, then whatever it is will drain the battrey. However, since the screen isn't on, that may take longer than if the screen was on.
Then, after that time, plug the iPod into a power source and leave it alone for at least thirty minutes. Only after thirty minutes will it show any signs of life, but you should leave it until it is fully charged before trying to use it.
If you get to this stage, the fact that the battery has drained will cause the iPod to reset when it springs back to life.
Let us know how you get on.

  • Center Button Will Not Work???

    Hi everybody,
Here is my problem: my select/center button on my 3rd generation iPod nano is not working. I went to itunes on my computer, and clicked restore, now on my iPod it's stuck to the language setting. What do I do?

You should go to the Apple Store, to get a new iPod Nano, there is a malfunction in your iPod's center button, i don't think restoring it helped at all, my guess is that it's a hardware problem.

  • Recently unable to view Volume, Play length, etc by pushing center button.

Ipod 60 Gb is working fine except for when pushing the center button, I'm unable to view the volume setting, or playlength remaining. Please advise.

Sometimes, if you don't allow the screen to refresh before pressing another button, it gets stuck.
    See this for help.
iPod "stuck" on the artwork or rating screen.
As you will see, updating the software can cure this.

My notification center and control center are stuck grey and black even if i change the wallpaper. I restarted my iPod but its still stuck how do i fix this!!

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Center button not clicking

I have an old style iPod.  Video one.  The center button doesn't click so I can't reset it.  It's stuck on "do not disconnect".  Any ideas out there?  Thanks!!

Do you mean HDMI 1.4 ?
I can't see the specs in UK specify this directly, but most of my TVs are a couple of years old and will be HDMI 1.2/1.3 capable at most.

  • Center button sticks

As the subject says, my iPod classic's center button sticks when pressed...is this exchange-worthy?

I just exchanged mine because the click wheel was not flush to the faceplate. The bottom and left edges stuck out considerably and were sharp to the touch. There were also 2 slight "humps" in the wheel, at 3 and 9 o'clock. Drove me nuts. Unfortunately I had to pay a restocking fee to correct this "cosmetic" issue. The replacement iPod still has a slightly uneven seating in the click wheel, but less so than the first one. Some of the ones on display in the store were perfect, others worse or the same as my first one.
While my center button didn't stick, it seems obvious there are some issues with the click wheel not sitting properly on some units. I think it's because the aluminum faceplate is more rigid and less tolerant to minute differences in the positioning of the wheel at the factory than the previous acrylic faceplates.
My previous 30GB Video and 8GB Nano both have loose center buttons, which is equally annoying. Maybe Apple decided to lower the tolerances for the wheel fit this time around, and tweaked the measurements a bit too far, resulting in a tight or sticky center button surrounded by an unevenly seated wheel.
