Centeral Management Console is Missing

I just installed business objects 3.0. When I navigate to the Business Objects folder I have plenty of objects to choose from but not Central Management Console. Any ideas?

Did you install tomcat? If the option is missing it would indicate during install your choose not to install tomcat. Then you would need to install the .war files on another JAS and the link to the CMC would be http://JAShostname:JASport#/CmcApp. If you suspect the link was just deleted and tomcat IS installed. Try http://tomcathostname:8080/CmcApp

  • How to have one centeral management console for DB and Application server?

    Hi
Thank you for reading my post
I read in several places that ORACLE provide facilitis that help developers to have one centeral console to manage Application server / Database and what ever oracle products.
I want to know that, when i have Oracle 10g r2 and Application server 10.1.3.1 installed, how i can use that centeral management console?
is it some other application that i should install ?
or it is just some more configuration?
    thanks

What you are looking for is called Grid Control.
You will need the Grid Control Agent installed on each server that has products from Oracle's technology stack installed (database, web server, app server, etc). You will also need install the Grid Control software and repository.
You can download Grid Control from the following link:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oem/index.html

    Hi Venkat,
You can get the guides from
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/
About login to CMC hope you remember the password that you had provide while installing it on the local machine.
If you had left blank then you can use Administrator and leave password  as it
    that would be blank.

Do i need to change something from the web.config file?
    Thanks!

I think something was not right during the steps when you enabled Management Console.
Any way I suggest you to check if you have the table tbllogs and tblBPClog into appserver database.
It seems actually some components or some table required for Management COnsole are missing.

  • Manage Mobile Device missing in Exchange Management Console

    Exchange 2007 SP1.
So up until now, my organization did not support ActiveSync and we had it disabled for all users.
This summer this will change, and we will start allowing ActiveSync devices to connect.
As a pilot group I enabled 3 users.  They all connected with their devices days ago (two on Monday, the other on Tuesday).  When looking them up in the Exchange Management console, the Manage Mobile Devices option is not visible.
If they go into OWA, their devices and all management options are listed there.
I realize that I could go into ADSIedit and set msExchMobileMailboxFlags to 1 and then it would show up.  That isn't really my concern though.
My concern is that when a user leaves the company, we would like to be able to go into EMC and issue a wipe of their device, not have to give ourselves permission to their mailbox, log in to their mailbox via OWA, and issue the wipe there.
Anybody know why this happens (why a user with a mobile device doesn't get the Manage Mobile Device option in EMC)?
    Thank you

    Hi
Here's a link for how to wipe a device remote
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998614%28EXCHG.80%29.aspx
Hope it will be helpful for you!
Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Configuration | MCITP: EMA | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog
Thanks for the link, but I know how to perform a remote wipe.
My question would be why does the "Manage Mobile Devices" button not appear when highlight some users that do have Mobile Devices?  Yes I could go into the OWA of their mailbox to wipe their device.  Yes, I could use the Shell to wipe
their devices.  But neither of these would be as convenient as just going into Manage Mobile Devices via Exchange Management Console and performing a wipe there.  Especially for my user admins.
Right now I am basically looking at creating some script that goes in and makes sure that "msExchMobileMailboxFlags" is set to 1 for every user that has ActiveSync enabled.  My main issue is that I feel I shouldn't have to do this. :P

  • GP Preference Items Throwing "Could not find a part of the path" Error in GP Management Console

    Hello,
For background, I recovered two Server 2008 R2 Domain Controllers in the same domain from a JRNL_WRAP_ERROR
using the BurFlags registry key as outlined in KB290762. The non-authoritative restore seemed to resolve NtFrs/replication challenges, as now the FRS and System logs are free from any major errors and "repadmin /showreps" output looks clean.
As part of the cleanup process I am going through and checking all the policy objects. Policy objects that leverage group policy preferences are
throwing an error when the settings are viewed in the management console:
    The following errors were encountered:
An unknown error occurred while data was gathered for this extension. Details: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\administrator.YOURDOMAIN\AppData\Local\Temp\2\ny0ho1ht.tmp'.
This occurs for existing Group Policy Preference objects and those that are newly created. It is important note if I go to edit the policy in question
the preference settings are available, it is viewing them in the management console that seems to be the issue. What concerns me here is that the file it is looking for is stored in the local temp directory and not the SYSVOL directory. With replication issues
behind me I am not sure how to address this last piece of the puzzle.
Any assistance in getting this squared away you be appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Jordan

  • Solaris Management Console question

Just wondering. I have tried to use the Solaris Management console several times. I have a solaris 10 box setup with a fress full install and when I launch the console the window comes up:
    ======================================
    Configuring the management Server
Starting the server for the first time may take a few minutes.
Please allow configuration to continue until you see
"Welcome to the Solaris Management Console".
    ======================================
It never goes past that. I have tried it on a couple of different installs and I do not think it has ever worked for me. I must be missing something simple. Can anyone point out what I am doing wrong?

running "/etc/init.d/init.wbem start" did the trick. I had suspected that a service might need to be started.
It works well on the global zone, but I am having trouble with it on my local zone. I suspect it is something I have done with that zone because I have been testing on it. I am going to spawn a new local zone and test it on that.

  • Root password fails on auth to Solaris Management Console Server

I've setup Solaris 10 x86 on a VA linux 1220 server, all is good so far except when I try to create additional users. I am logged in as root, and the root password logs in to the CDE, but fails on authentication to Solaris Management Console Server when I try to use any of the management apps like computers and networks or Users. So I'm stalled at the point where I should be configuring the system. I have been very careful about typing in the password exactly as I use it in the login screen, but it never works in the System Management tools for This Computer. The password I'm using is 26 characters long, is it too long? Or is there a step I'm missing?
    Thanks,
    Brian

One of my famous guesses, but unless you changed the default password algorithm the maximum length of your password is 8 characters, when logging in on the console or desktop, anything typed after those eight characters will be ignored (unless this behaviour changed very recently).
Its possibly that SMC, and its server component WBEM does not ignore the extra characters, which could cause this behavior.
What happens if you try and login to SMC with the root user and only the first eight characters of your password?
Btw, if this was the problem i think there is a way to change the default crypto algorithm to something that supports more characters.

  • Problem in R/3 server - Console is missing

    Hi,
We got one problem in R/3 server. In SAP R3 Management Console, Console is missing.
I changed the profile parameter in RZ10 for "zcsa/system_language". Then i restarted the system. After that console is missing. What is the problem. How to solve it. Now we are not able to start the R/3 system
    Send response immediatly
    Thanks,
    Naga

    Hi Naga,
Is the system missing from the R/3 management console? If yes, you would need
to register the system by running sapstartsrv.exe from
    ..\usr\sap\<sid>\SYS\exe\run
Or do you get any other error while accessing the system from MMC?
    Hope it helps.

  • Cannot login as sysdba in Oracle Enterprise Management Console

    Hi,
I have recently installed Oracle 9.2.0.4 in Red Hat Linux 9.
I ran "oemapp console" to launch the Oracle Enterprise Manager Console Standalone. However, everytime I tried to login as:
    user: sys
    password: <sys password>
    connect as: sysdba
I always get ORA-01031: insufficient privileges.
The Oracle database where I cannot connect as sysdba in OEM was created MANUALLY.
However, I can successfully login to OEM as sysdba if the database was created using Database Configuration Assistant...
So I might have missed out some configurations when I creasted the database MANUALLY...
    any ideas??
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    Prasanna

    Hi there once more,
Of course it is possible that user system has the same problems as user sys (insufficient privs)....
In that case try to log on as internal/pwd@dbname as sysdba to perform the trick.
    Good luck!
    Regards,
    Georges.

  • Patch 121308-12 breaks solaris management console

    Dear Moderator,
    Hope not asking too much.
Could you notify your counterparts that patch 121308-12 breaks Solaris Management Console?
SMC doesn't load the tool box after patch 121308-12 is applied. I backed out the patch and SMC works fine. Patch 121308-11 is fine.
I had to remove the patch from 50+ servers.
I am running Solaris 10 update 3 on my servers.
What I really want is a version 13 of the patch 121308 that obsoletes version 12. This way, I don't have to worry about this anymore everytime sunUC patches my servers.

  • Where is the 11g Management Console?

Ok, I downloaded the Oracle 11g client and selected "Administrator" during installation.
How do I launch the management console? (is it a script in <ORACLE_CLIENT_HOME>/bin ?)

Yes, the 11g Database Control supposedly now has all of the java applet Oracle Enterprise Management Console Functions and Features but that is just not the case. Major missing feature is Navigation Tree to any Oracle Database that you needed to manage. Very easy to open up branches in tree and see database configuration settings, user info, schema, etc very quickly. Web Database Control is slow, clunky, hard-to-navigate and simply missing the very important and useful function mentioned above. Oracle needs to bring back the Enterprise Management Console java app.. I have discussed this at OracleWorld in SF today with several OEM Oracle reps and unfortunately they showed zero interest is such a request.. Apparently it is not in the interest of the large Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control product..
