Centered in IE9 Browser?

Hello,
I am trying to get my Captivate output to be centered (located toward the top of the browser and centered horizontally) in the IE browser. When I click Yes to view the output after publishing, the project appears as intended, but when I post the files on SharePoint and then view them, the project appears flush left. Is this something in my project settings? Project preferences? Publish settings? Browser settings?
Thanks so much.

I have the same problem with my course and I am just starting to work on this problem.  I am using Captivate 7 and am when using a web object widget.  The web page that I am using uses a video player which is normally centered on the web page.  But when I play the course in a web browser, the video player always is shoved tight to the left side of the browser, no matter how large I make the browser.  This happens no matter which browser I use, including IE-10.  This also happens when we store the course and present it from our LMS (which does NOT use Sharepoint).
I believe that this is a Captivate problem.

    This is a strange behavior , ADF components like ( table , DVT graph ) are not rendering on the ie9 browser ( keep fetching ...) . However , works fine with ie8,Google chrome, firefox .

    Any idea why not on ie9 ?

  • PDF in IE9 browser

    I am having difficulties getting PDF's to open in IE9. Each time I click on a PDF file on the web it automatically begins to download then opens in Adobe. I am using a Windows 7 (AGM) image (both x86 bit and x64 bit) along with Adobe Acrobat X Pro. Our headquarters office that gave us the image does not have this issue, so they have repaired it or we have changed something without realizing it.
    Here are the things I have tried so far;
    1. I have went to Adobe>Preferences>Internet and selected and deselected the "Display PDF in browser" box multiple times.
    2. Tried using a computer that hasn't been joined to our domain to rule out possibility of group policies.
    3. Uninstalled Adobe X and installed just Adobe Reader X.
    4. Did Repair Acrobat Installation and rebooted.
    5. Verified I have the Adobe PDF add-in and that it is Enabled.
    6. Uninstalled Adobe Acrobat X Pro and installed Adobe 9 Pro. Also rolled back IE9 to IE8.
    Also, and this may be helpful, I am no longer able to covert a web page to PDF by right-clicking on the page and selecting "Covert to Adobe PDF". The screen just flashes and thats the end of it. So it seems like the add-ins just are not working period.

    I realize you said that you went into the preferences>>Internet and unchecked/checked the display in browser box, but we've found that we need to close and re-open Adobe also.
    0.4 Close AR window
    0.5 Close IE9
    0.6 Open AR
    0.7 Open Preferences
    1. Uncheck box
    2. Close preferences.
    3. Close AR
    4. Open AR
    5. Check box
    6. Close preferences
    7. Close AR
    8. Open AR
    9. Close AR
    10. Open IE9 and attempt to open .pdf
    It's as if the setting is not "read" until AR is opened with the setting set to the desired setting
    EDIT: Re-reading your post, I think I have my 'check/uncheck' reversed for your desired task, but it should work if you reverse them.  We have the opposite problem...our users want the .pdf to open immediately in the browser, without the download popup.

  • Need Help Centering Page in Browser Window

    I'm designing my pages by creating a graphic framework in
    Photoshop, slicing and exporting images into css using Fireworks to
    a Dreamweaver html page. These pages look great; but they load into
    the upper left corner of the browser window
    I was taking a Dreamweaver class at the Denver Art Institute,
    that was worthless. I dropped the class after the 4th week and am
    now teaching myself. I asked the teacher how to center this kind of
    page in a browser window, so the page would behave like most
    webpages, centering as you change the width of the browser window.
    I also wanted to add a repeating pattern in a background image. She
    told me that she didn't know how, that I would have to build the
    background into my Photoshop file. So, that's what I've been doing.
    However, when people with smaller monitors change pages within a
    site the built-in background requires them to recenter the page
    manually each time.
    Is there a way to center the page and add a background image
    that is not built in? I've tried using Dreamweaver's background
    image and margins in the Page Properties; but that just pushes the
    page to the upper left and adds the background to the right and
    bottom of the page.

    >I was taking a Dreamweaver class at the Denver Art
    Institute, that was worthless
    Yes, those classes usually are worthless because they focus
    on using the tool without giving you the proper foundation for
    understanding and managing html and css. Unfortunately, all of the
    example sites you gave you AP Divs (layers) as a primary layout
    method, which is a terrible approach. AP Divs should be used rarely
    if ever, and only when you understand how they work. When the
    visitors font is sized differently than you expected, the site
    falls apart. The correct approach is to learn web
    design/development outside of the context of a specific
    application.
    http://www.w3schools.com/html/
    is a good place to start for a basic understanding of html and css.
    And some basic layout techniques can be found here:

  • Opening PDF file within IE9 browser

    We are working on rolling out Reader XI to all our company.  A lot of people are getting prompted when they are trying to open a PDF file.  They get the message from Windows Internet Explorer:  What do you want to do with (name of PDF file)?  Open, Save, or Save As are the options.  We would like the PDF to open within IE9.  I have walked through making the changes to the internet options to allow this to happen and they are still getting the message.  What can we do?

    See if anything in here helps: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/display-pdf-browser-acrobat-xi.html
    P.S. make sure that the users don't run the 64-bit version of IE.

  • How to get header to stay centered on different browser window sizes

    Hi,
    Is there a way to change the header design so it stays
    centered and moves to accommodate different browser window sizes?
    Right now, it stays where it is, and everything else moves and
    stays centered as window size changes. I'm a new Dreamweaver user.
    the url is
    http://ellifolks.com/
    I tried changing the template I made for the site, and was
    able to delete some things, but it won't let me add things now. I
    can't undo to where it started, either. I tried doing a second
    template. Now I can't save anything -- I get a message saying
    "sharing issues".
    Thank you.

    Combining absolutely positioned elements with centering
    tables (as you have)
    accounts for about 20% of the posts on this forum. It's
    commonly done
    because it seems so easy. This is one of the penalties you
    pay for taking
    that easy road.
    The answer to your question is yes, you can do this.
    1. Make this image the page background -
    http://ellifolks.com/images/ellifolks_web_header_repeat.gif
    - and use CSS to
    give it a style of background-repeat:repeat-x.
    2. Place your assembled header within a STATIC div (i.e., NOT
    a layer) at
    the top of the page by changing this -
    <div id="apDiv1"><img
    src="images/dots_header_left.gif" width="175"
    height="192" alt="dots left" /></div>
    <div id="apDiv2">
    <div align="center"><img
    src="images/header_animals_logo.gif" width="759"
    height="195" alt="ellifolks logo" /></div>
    </div>
    <div id="apDiv3"><img
    src="images/dots_header_right.gif" alt="dots right"
    width="175" height="192" /></div>
    to this -
    <div id="header"><img
    src="images/dots_header_left.gif" width="175"
    height="192" alt="dots left" /><img
    src="images/header_animals_logo.gif"
    width="759" height="195" alt="ellifolks logo" /><img
    src="images/dots_header_right.gif" alt="dots right"
    width="175" height="192"
    /></div>
    3. Add this to your CSS -
    #header { width:1109px; margin:0 auto; }
    That should do the trick.

  • Centering canvas on browser screen

    I have been trying to set up my Fireworks pages so that they look centered on a standard browser. Under Modify - Canvas - Canvas Size, I chose the "top center" arrow from the grid of 9 choices.  When I export (I export to Dreamweaver), under Options I chose Page Alignment - Center.  This did not center the page. So, in the HTML within Dreamweaver, I added <p align=center> in this line:
    <body bgcolor="#b0b0b0" onLoad="MM_preloadImages('images/Page1_r2_c2_s2.jpg');"><p align=center>  But still, the page never looks centered. Is there a way to get these pages to look centered without having to enter HTML code on every page?  Thanks very much!!!   Dana

    Hey there,
    Yes, you have a few problems.
    First, you have your container div starting in your head section. The tags in html are like parentheses in math - they have to match in pairs and have to fully enclose any other sets. For example, you can write:
    but you can't write
    because the start of the square bracket is in the first set of curly brackets, but the end is in the second set.
    The head section is for stuff that doesn't appear in your page, such as meta tags, JavaScript code, CSS definitions and so on. The body section is for all the stuff that will display, such as HTML text and images. Both head and body are enclosed in the "html" tag.
    You need to move your opening div for #container out of the head section and just below your body tag.
    Second, you have an additional div ("centered"), but you have no CSS definitions for it. And you open two divs but only have one closing tag (/div). Everything you open needs to be closed. (A few tags are not paired, such as the img tag, but most are.) Just remove that div id="centered" line.
    Third - and this is the bit that keeps your page from looking centered - your table of content is 681 pixels wide, but you're centering a region that is 1024 pixels wide. In your definition of #container, you need to change width to 681px.
    Also, you should probably add the "text-align: left;" part, although it doesn't matter with your site because you don't actually HAVE any text, all your content is in images....
    ...Which is not how you want to build your pages. Your text you want to have as text. Text rendered by a browser is clearer than text in images. Plus, without text, the search engines have nothing to index.
    Go through the tutorial on NetTuts+ to see how you would do that. The author uses Photoshop for graphics, but Fireworks works just as well.
    Good luck!

  • IE9 browser helper generating javascript errors in Web Application

    Hi All,
    Any idea why when I record/playback my Web Application with IE9 my modal dialogs are generating javascript errors? The modal dialogs runs fine when the helpers are not running but it starts throwing script errors left and right once the helpers are active. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,

    Hello
    Is that a Functional or Load test script? Probably a functional one, correct?
    I guess IE9 is mandatory or can you try with another web browser?
    Never faced that one.

  • Centering content on browser resize

    Hi. I have my main flash .swf set to 1024 x 700 pixels. I
    have a movie clip that goes from one end to the other at the bottom
    and another movie clip at the top (which I want centered). Plus, I
    want the bottom movie clip to resize when the browser window is
    resized. I don't want the top movie clip to resize at all. Is this
    possible?
    I manually changed the width and height of the .swf in the
    source code to 100%. But the main .swf does not resize when the
    browser window resizes.
    Here's my code for the main .swf:
    Stage.align = "TL";
    Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
    sizeListener = new Object();
    sizeListener.onResize = function() {
    trace (Stage.width)
    trace (Stage.height)
    Stage.addListener(sizeListener);
    What code do i put for the bottom movie clip?

    What do you mean by "registered on the left" for my movie
    clips? Where x=0?
    I added the code you gave me to my bottom movie clip and it
    squished my bottom movie towards the center of the stage. When I
    tried to resize the browser window, the movie clip didn't resize
    with it. Nor did my browser have any scroll bars.
    Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

  • Centering page in browser

    Hi
    I have used the following code to centre a site i am working
    on.:
    </head>
    to this -
    <style type="text/css">
    <!--
    body { text-align:center; }
    #wrapper { text-align:left; width:760px; margin:0
    auto;position:relative; }
    /* 760px will display on an 800px screen maximized browser
    window without */
    /* horizontal scrollbars. */
    -->
    </style>
    </head>
    change this -
    <body ...>
    to this -
    <body ...>
    <div id="wrapper">
    and this -
    </body>
    to this -
    <!-- /wrapper -->
    </div>
    </body>
    It centres the pages but they take a long time to load now
    compared to when they weren't centered.
    Is there a different centering technique i can use that won't
    cause the same problem?
    P.S - The have built the site with layers and some image
    ready slices.

    The page load times are not affected by your centering
    method. They are
    affected by your server speed, your net congestion, and your
    page weight.

  • Keep Website Centered in Web Browser Window

    Hi
    Im using Dreamweaver CS4 and I was wondering, how can I make it so that whatever size you make your web browser window it stays in the middle? E.g. touchthisgames.com Its simple like my website will be but it all stays in the centre no matter what size your browser window is. Any help much appreciated, thanks.

    I'm a newbie using flex builder 3. I'm learning
    ActionScript3.0. After running the AS code from the book, my images
    are never in the center of the browser(IE7). After running the
    following code (which is supposed to produce a yellow arrow, in the
    center of the stage, that rotates to the mouse), I get all the
    desired results except the arrow is positioned in the bottom right
    corner of my browser and only part of the arrow is visible. if
    anyone can suggest a solution it would be highly appreciated.
    Please keep in mind that I am a COMPLETE newbie to ActionScript,
    Flex Builder 3, and the Flash environments. Thanks in advance.

    on mouseup or click, if the mouse is down, you can use:
    stage.focus=outputText;
    if the mouse isn't down, you can don't need a listener to trigger the above.

  • How to stop IE9 from opening web page in the middle of browser

    Greetings,
    I'm opening a page with a video on it and for some reason, IE9 insists on opening the page so that the bottom of the video is in line with the bottom of the IE9 browser window.
    It's like IE doesn't want to cut off the lower part of the video.
    FF is not having this problem and opens pages with videos as it should; at the top.
    This pic doesn't really do it justice, but when the page opens, the video is in line with the bottom of the browser window.
    Thanks for any help you can give!
    k

    It looks exactly the same to me in FF10 and IE9 on Vista.  The page is longer than my viewport.  I must use the vertical scrollbar to see the page bottom.   Hit Ctrl+ - a couple of times to Zoom Out.  Refresh the page (F5).
