Centering Acrobat Documents?

I'm producing several brochures using InDesign CS5. The printer I'm using has requested I provide them with printable PDFs, which I do all the time. What I don't know how to do is print the PDF on my Epson WF-7520 wide format printer so the 9 x 12 brochure is centered on a 13 x 19 sheet of paper. Do I set that up when creating the PDF through InDesign or is there a setting somewhere in Adobe Acrobat that I'm missing?
Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

I just discovered there is an Auto-Rotate and Center button in the Adobe Acrobat print dialog box. I can't believe I missed that.

  • Is there any way to reset the file type to "Adobe Acrobat Document" rather than "pdf file"?

An update from WordPerfect automatically installed Foxit on my computer without warning me.  I uninstalled it and reinstalled CS5 and Acrobat 11 but when I look at a list of files in Windows Explorer, all of my PDF files are simply listed as "PDF file" rather than "Adobe Acrobat Document".  I rely on the Adobe name to get my PDF listed at the top of list of files when I sort by document type for something that I need to do 4 or 5 times a day.  Having it buried under "PDF" is causing lots of errors.
I've tried searching the registry but can't find anything that would make this change.  I know it's related to the computer because when I use my laptop to view the same folder on the desktop, the laptop shows the files as "Adobe Acrobat Document".  I just don't know where to look to fix this.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    GiGi

I have already reinstalled both Adobe Reader and the full version of CS5 which includes Adobe Pro.  Neither of those steps worked.

  • How to enable indexing of a protected adobe acrobat document

    Hi
I was trying to index all Adobe Acrobat documents inside one directory but I got a message suggesting that indexing of password-protected Adobe Acrobat documents is not possible.
I would like to know if there is a protection level (say read-only protection) that allows indexing of Adobe Acrobat documents. That would allow me to search for specific workd inside my index of Adobe Acrobat documents even if they are password protected.
Or is there any other means (say an add-in) that would allow indexing of password protected Adobe Acrobat documents and then enable searching thro these documents.
    A.C.

In the security settings enable copying of the. Don't assign a open password.

  • How to type visible text in an Acrobat document?

Hi there.I totally don't know how to use Acrobat and I'd like to know how to fill up an Acrobat document.
Whenever I try to type text in the blank fields, nothing shows and I can't see if there is text or what I'm writing.
It would be nice to know how to make the text appear in black.
I've tried the different tools but can't change anything.
    Thanks for any help.

I had the same issue recently. At work, most use is through a terminal server. Not sure if Adobe was updated, or changec, because I never paid attention to the version before. Currently it is Adobe Acrobat Standard 7.0. I'm not sure if there are any other numbers to that designation as I cannot find a simple "About Adobe" under help.
In either event, there's no more typewriter under tools. However, it looks like I found an alternative.
Tools > Advanced Editing > TouchUp Text Tool
However, I am noticing it is not as versitile as Typwriter was. For example, I am trying to add numbers in a "Field" on a form, but when I click the document with the tool where I want it, it won't allow me to type where I want. I have to put the text "next" to the field title, and not under the title where you would naturally complete the field. If that makes sense.

  • Does an adobe reader read the Adobe acrobat document that has been downloaded from a web site

I am having trouble opening anything that has been downloaded into a adobe acrobat document . I am wondering if I am suppose to have an Adobe reader to read it and why is it not  being read because it is not a supported file type or because  the file was damaged sent as an email attachment  and wasn't correctly decoded. I am not very computer illiterate and don't understand what I need to be able to get a embroidery designed sent to my computer and be able to open it up.?

    Hi Adpdfacct808,
PDF is the document standard that you are trying to read. If you have Acrobat installed then you can open the pdf with Acrobat to read it.
What error do you get when you try to open the document?

  • Redraw problems on secondary monitor with 2 Acrobat documents

When I have two overlapping Acrobat 9 documents open on my secondary monitor and I click on the Acrobat doc in the background to bring it to the front, the image from the Acrobat doc that was in front is captured in the Acrobat document that I brought to the front.
I can't reproduce this problem on my primary monitor with Acrobat, and I can't reproduce this problem with any program on my secondary monitor. And I can't reproduce this problem on my secondary monitor with two document open with Adobe reader 8.0
    Window 2003 XP 64bit, SP2
    ATI FireGL V7350, primary/secondary
    Dual Dell 2407 WFP
    ASUS P5W DH Deluxe MB
    Intel Core2 x6800

I have the same problem here, but with either monitor.
Dell Precision T7400  Quadcore Xeon with 4GB RAM & Windows XP 32bit, Quadro 1700, two Dell 2001FPs (1200x1600)
Both my monitors are rotated 90' in Portrait mode. In landscape this doesn't appear to happen.
Acrobat 9.0 Pro, now patched to Acrobat 9.1
I can view full-monitor for a while, but then Acrobat stops redrawing/repainting properly when the window size exceeds a (variable) limit.
As a work-around, I start making the acrobat window size smaller until the window will redraw.
As time goes by, I have to keep making the window size smaller and smaller to get redraw work.
Eventually the window size required for redraw gets small enough that it's just too annoying and then I reboot the machine which makes it all good again for a short amount of time.
This and the OCR bug are my two biggest issues with Acrobat 9.

  • Changing Applications default content type for e.g fro Adobe Acrobat 7 to Adobe Acrobat Document

How can I change the default Applications content type, currently it point to Adobe Acrobat 7.0 the correct content type should be Adobe Acrobat Document.

See the [[managing file types]] article, in particular the section on changing download actions. You may need to select "Use other" and browse to the application if it is not listed as one of the default options.

  • Printing PDF Adobe Acrobat Documents

I receive emails from my job and the attachments are PDF Adobe Acrobat Documents and I get an error message when I try to print them.  The error message is:  PROP Res DLL Not Loaded.  I have talked to a computer tech to see why I could not print those attachments and they said that I needed to download the Adobe Flash Player.  I have done that just recently and I was given the notification that it did download.  I went to try to print those documents and I get the same error message: Prop Res DLL Not Loaded.  What do I have to do to be able to print those documents?

This is usually associated with LexMark printers installed under Windows.  A possible fix is given at

  • There is no Exit menu item on my Files menu, can't add Adobe Acrobat Document to Applications.

    Firefox 3.6.12, Reader 9.4, (reinstalled).
Firefox downloads a pdf file rather than opening it.
Adobe Acrobat Document is not listed as an application (Tools>Options>Applications from FF menu).
FF support page suggests opening profile, then File>Exit and deleting a file. However, there is no Exit option on my File menu.
The Adobe forum feels that this is a Firefox problem, especially since Reader works file with both IE8 and Chrome.
I want to make it work in Firefox....any ideas?
    Thanks.

Solved with a workaround. Initial confusion was that Exit was referring to the main Firefox browser, not the window that opened with File. Then had to delete the dll file suggest by Mozilla support. There was also an apparent conflict between Adobe Acrobat and Reader.
    Working for now.

  • Problems printing Acrobat documents on shared printer

I have a MacBook Pro and a Mac Pro. I also have an Epson 1400 printer.
When I print any Acrobat document using the printer hooked up directly to my MacBook, it prints perfectly.
When I print the same Acrobat document using the printer hooked up directly to the Mac Pro, it prints perfectly.
However, when I hook the printer to the Mac Pro and enable printer sharing, and then print the same document from the MacBook Pro using the shared printer via the network, the Acrobat document is reduced in size by around 50%. I have checked every possible setting and just can't find why this is happening.
Thanks in advance for any help!

The problem occurs not only through Acrobat. The prints have the correct size through the Mac only when the printer is directly connected via USB on the Macs but reduced size through the network. The problem occurs in any printer model on the network.
I do not know how to solve this problem but curiously does not occur with Windows computers with Bonjour that prints to the printers connected to Macs.
    When Apple will fix this?

  • Documentation for the Acrobat Document Object Model

    Hello
I'm trying to move my first steps in this field, I hope you can bear with my naive questions.
I'm trying to find the documentation for the Acrobat Document Object Model. To my surprise a search in the forum's archives was unsuccessful.
I remember downloading out of curiosity a few PDFs from Adobe about their implementation of JavaScript in Acrobat, one precisely concerning ADOM (but I could be wrong as it was a few years ago and I'm getting old): are those documents a thing of the past?
    Thank you very much.
    Giordano

    Have a look here:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/javascript.html
The link there is for the version 9 reference, which is usually good enough,
but if you want the latest one (in PDF form), you can find it inside the
    Acrobat X SDK package, here:

  • Why can't I open an adobe acrobat document 1.xls. sent to me.

Why can't open a pdf file sent to me marked adobe acrobat document 1.xls ?

Mylenium is correct you will want to look at utilizing a program which lets you open Microsoft Office spreadsheets.  This is not something that Adobe currently offers.

  • Hello, how can i modifie in the options, aplications, Adobe acrobat document, open with Adobe acrobat (in Firefox) instead of open with portable document format (default). Thanks

I can'T open pdf links in another page, because in options, aplications i have in Adobe acrobat documents open with portable document format (default) and i must put open with Adobe Acrobat (in firefox) default.
Where can i change the default?
    Tnaks

All you now have to do is use that variable to the value property of your text field... So add this at the end of your code:
    this.getField("Conference_Option").value = ConferenceOpportunity;
Also, I would use MouseUp, not MouseDown.
