Central auto reaction....

Hi,
I have configured solution monitoring for R/3 system 4.6C in my solutin manager 3.2. I can see the CCMS alert data using the RFC connection of user CSMREG. Now I want to activate the autoalerts from solutioin manager if any alert comes on R/3 side I should receive a mail with alert information. Tried some things but never get alerts. Some of the documnets says...
The monitored mySAP.com components with SAP Basis are linked with the CEN using the SAPCCM4X agents.
Not sure what does that mean do I have to install CCMS agent ? which are already installed on bot the systems....or is there a way to connect solman agent to R/3 agent....
Can any one please put some light on how it will work..
Regards,
Milan

Hi Milan,
Yes, you need to install the CCMS agents in all the satellite systems, so that the alerts are forwarded to the solution manager (CEN) system. You can then assign the central auto reaction for the alerts.
Hope this helps.

  • Central auto-reaction for weinqueue and weoutqueue - which MTE Class

    Hello,
In my CEN system (SAP Solution Manager), I want to assign a central auto-reaction method - for all my managed systems - regarding :
    1. IDoc Inbound Queue - weinqueue
    2. IDoc Outbound Queue - weoutqueue
In SAP Solution Manager, from RZ21, Technical Infrastructure, Configure Central System, Assign Central Autoreactions,
you choose the managed system SID, the MTE Class and the "Central Autoreactions".
Do you know what is the MTE Class for both "IDoc Inbound Queue - weinqueue" and  "IDoc Outbound Queue - weoutqueue" ?
    Thanks
    Best regards
    PC

    Hi PC,
it is ALEIDcMTClass but its common for both Inbound and outbound idocs (Generic).
the other option is ALEIDcMTAttCl but it s generic and is specific to a object you are looking at.
You have to manage/configure the autoreaction according to the object you are looking at.(Monitoring object).
    Thanks,

  • Central auto-reactions for individual MTEs, not entire MTE classes

    Hello.
I am trying to set up central autoreactions on a Sol Man system (CEN) to monitor certain MTEs on a satellite system (soon to be many more satellite systems and other MTEs). I know that auto-reactions can be assigned to a satellite system and specific MTE class in RZ21 on CEN, but I don't want auto-reactions for every MTE in a specific class. For example, I want to monitor the percentage full for a specific file system, which has the class "FilesystemPercentageUsed", but there are many other MTEs in the parent "file systems" branch which also have the same class. I only want a central auto-reaction for the one--not all of the MTEs in that class.
Has anyone else achieved this? If so, I'd love to hear your recommendations. Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks!

    Hello Matthew,
central autoreaction is only possible for MTE classes.
    > For example, I want to monitor the percentage full for a specific file system, which has the class "FilesystemPercentageUsed", but there are many other MTEs in the parent "file systems" branch which also have the same class. I only want a central auto-reaction for the one--not all of the MTEs in that class.
In this case: change the MTE class. As you use already agents (otherwise central autoreaction would not be possible) you can configure the agent to use MTE classes different to the default ones.
The Online documentation for the agents describes this: [Monitoring Operating System Data with CCMS Agents|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_03/helpdata/EN/2b/6dcd06dc6b084a840f209e027e39b1/frameset.htm].

  • Central Auto-Reactions

    Hi,
For a specific satellite system there are some 2000 MTE classes, out of which I need to select only some 150 MTE classes. But I feel this is a laborious job.
Is there a way by which I can get only the required MTE classes from Satellite systems?
    Thanks
    Subramanyam Inumella

    Hi,
I'm not sure what you want to do with the MTEs. Perhaps a rule-based monitor definition could help to filter out specific MTEs, e.g. filtering the SID of monitored systems.
    Kind regards,

  • Automatic SMS/Mail notification for local auto-reaction method

    Hello!
We would like to be informed via SMS/Mail about the Availability of satellite system.
When we assign a Local auto-reaction method for this MTE (Availability_SysPercent_ABAP) we receive the SMS/Mail notification only in case we manually start the auto reaction method from RZ20.
When we try to assign the central auto reaction method from RZ20 we get the following error:
Assignment for local system only works with nodes from agent segments
What is the procedure for the automatic SMS/Mail notification in case of local auto-reaction method?
    Thank you very much!

    Dear Team,
As I have understood, you want to be informed each time a satellite system is not up and running ?
    Option 01
    ========
    1. Install the CCSMPING agent in SOLMAN
    2. Create your satellites systems through RZ21 - Technical Infrastructure - Availability Monitoring - Configure CCMSPING ...
        Create all satelittes systems ...
    3. Then, from SOLMAN_WORCENTER, in SYSTEM Monitoring, you have the status of each satellites systems created
        in RZ21 (point 2).
This option will not advised when a satellite system is down. But from one WEB page, you will have the status of all satellites systems.
    Option 02
    ========
1.Install the CCSMPING agent in SOLMAN
    2. Create your satellites systems through RZ21 - Technical Infrastructure - Availability Monitoring - Configure CCMSPING ...
        Create all satellites systems.
    3. RZ20 - SAP CCMS Monitor Templates - Double-click on "Availability and Performance Overview"
Open "Availability" - Then, all satellites systems which have been added under point 2 will appear.
    4. Select one satelitte system
    5. Open "Availability"
    6. Select "ABAP: Checked by CCMSPING.<solman-hostname>.00"
    7. When selected, click on "Properties" button.
    8. Then, you assign here an auto-reaction method - for example :
        "ccms_send_alert_to_alm_ccms_containerv4".
    9. Copy this method to Zccms_send_alert_to_alm_ccms_containerv4.
    10. In this method, add you email address.
    11. Then, check that job "SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP is running. This job collects data in the CCCMS (RZ20).
    12. Then, the alert will be automatically sends to your email adress.
    Hope it helps ?

  • Auto-reaction method not sending e-mail

    Hi everyone,
We are trying to set-up email notificacions for cancelled jobs. So far I've configured SCOT and RZ20 succesfully. The alerts are triggered and the auto-reaction method is active and ready but it's not sending automatics e-mails. If I click on the auto-reaction method status and manually start auto-reaction method it sends the e-mails, but I haven't been able to make it work automatically.
So far I've read every possible thread in SAP forums about the issue and I also have checked the following notes:
Note 671780 - Only trigger auto-reaction method with certain alerts
    Note 502959 - RZ20: External e-mail as auto-reaction
Note 939616 - CCMS auto-reactions: Help with troubleshooting
Note 760821 - Auto-reactions no longer work with email
Note 939616 - CCMS auto-reactions: Help with troubleshooting
Note 176492 - Automatic email when an alert occurs (RZ20)
I have tried all the possible control options for method CCMS_OnAlert_Email (currently is executed as a periodically job). I have checked all the jobs generated in RZ21 and still can't get it to work.
This e-mails alerts are to be triggered locally by each SAP productive system. I've already tried to configure this monitoring alert in two of our developing system with similar behaviour: no automatic e-mail is getting send.
Please, advice me on what I should do. I know I'm missing some
configuration but I can't figure out which one.
    Best regards

    Is the job SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP running?
Please note the run time status: "Run required" means,
the alert was triggered, but the auto-reaction method does not start until the next time the CCMS method dispatcher (SAPMSSY8) runs. This can last up to 5 minutes if alerts are generated asynchronously (for example, by an active data collector).
However, the next time the CCMS method dispatcher runs, the auto-reaction method should be executed and the status of the node should be READY.
If the RUN_REQUIRED status does not disappear, it could be for a number of reasons:
    - If MTE is present on the local system:
The auto-reaction method must not be defined as the central auto-reaction method.
    - If MTE is present on another monitored system and a central auto-reaction method was defined:
Is one of the above true in your case?
An agent from the monitored system must be logged on to the central system, and this agent must be active. Please check whether these agents are active or not in Rz21 and try Re-Registering it.

    Hello gurus,
I'm trying to configure the CCMS so it will send alerts to mails.
-I've configured the SAPConnect and checked it. A mail from SBWP appeared in my outlook account.
    -I've followed the instruction of:

    "Hi Yagel,
the question is, how do you want to be notfied by the alert. Via email? For this, you have to configure your alert monitor (e.g. like described in the mentioned Blog) and configure SAP Connect (and SMTP, see note 455140), so that you are able to send emails from the SAP System to your office-email-adress or so.
I have tested some time ago the autoreaction methods with emailing and after configuring the SAP Connect correctly, it wasn't a big problem.

    Hi Pradeep,
Can you send e-mail at all from the ssm 4.0 ? Are there any mail hanging in scott ? Are the MTE's reporting at all? May be a stupid one but you say
I have set Z_ccms_Onalert_email with the following parameter
    and then
With Auto-Reaction Methor has ccms_Onalert_email with the above parameter.
But the e-mails are not triggered.
Is the no Z_ a typo in the post or is this a typo in you're system ??

  • Solution Manager as CEN - Auto-Reaction Method suspension

    Hi Gurus,
after a few days I have successfully installed my monitoring infrastructure, based on my Solution Manager working as Central Monitoring System (CEN). Now SSM is connected to many SAP istances and I receive an email when some problem occur, for example when an istance  doesn't run properly.
A simple question: while offline backup is running for one of my instances I don't obviously want to receive emails, so is it possible to manage Auto-Reaction Methods based on specific periods during the day?
    Thanks all!

You can also setup an Alert Management (ALM) either on Solution Manager or any Netweaver based system.  ALM allows you control alerts more narrowly.  You could have a rule for that specific system where no alerts are sent given a specific time window.
It's great for setting rules that say - send an email when XX system has an issue during these hours.  Then after work or during the night shift, send an SMS text instead of an email.  ALM is very powerful and can be used by all SAP solutions - ERP, SCM, Solution Manager, Portal - etc etc.  It's basically a rules based system for routing alerts.  Also allows you to do escalations and force people to confirm alerts when they have acknowledged them.
Hope this gives you another option.

  • CCMSPING and auto-reaction alert

    Hi,
    helppppp....pleasee.....
We have use our solution manager system as the central monitoring system (CEN) for the satellite system In this case, the ccmsping agent is running on the CEN. If the satellite system becomes unavailable, the CEN will automatically send out an email to the support team. How to configure this ?
    Thanks,
    Mina
Message was edited by: Mina Wirama

    Hi Mina,
Have you gone though all the configuration of:
    -  Registering ccmsping to CEN
    -  Configuring via RZ21 >> Technical Infrastructure >> Availability Monitoring >> Configure CCMSPING Monitoring and then add the satellite system (See pdf below)
    -  Don't forget to add the Destination of Responsible CCMSPING on the bottom i.e. CCMSPING.<CEN host>.00
If you have done this correctly you should see values in RZ20 >> SAP CCMS Monitoring Templates >> Availability and Performance Overview >> Availability.
Then you assign a LOCAL auto-reaction method. A little confusing but it makes sense that availability monitoring is local on CEN. If the satellite system dies it can't say "I'm dead" so the ping is from CEN and therefore local.
Also see http://service.sap.com/monitoring >> Monitoring in detail >> Availability Monitoring and Agent CCMSPING.

  • CCMS Auto-Reaction for custom Local Monitor Set in RZ20

Since I am not able to modify any SAP made monitor sets I have had to make a copy of them and place them under a new heading and then I can add the systems I want to monitor.
Once I make that copy though, I want to add an auto-reaction to the set but once I hit properties it uses my RFC connections and takes me to that system. It is unlike the SAP made ones were once I click Properties it stays within the Solution Manager system and allows me to choose an auto-reaction that I have setup.
Either one of these will work for me, can I add systems to the SAP made sets or can I set an auto-reaction within Solution Manager to a copied set?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
You can go to t-code RZ21-> Technical Infrastructure and disable the Central Monitoring. Also you can assign auto-reaction methods to your own monitor sets.
Let me know which method you want to copy and I will send you the steps.
    Thanks and regards,

  • CCMS alert stays in ACTION_REQUIRED status auto reaction is not triggered

    Hello,
We have configured central monitoring infrastructure via Soluton Manager. So we could assign auto reaction methods in RZ21(CEN) to get e-mail notification if an alert occured in satellite systems.
Most of the assigned MTEs trigger mail notification but our problem is that certain MTEs don't trigger the assigned auto reaction and they are stucked in ACTION_REQUIRED status.
All of the application servers have running and connected CCMS agent.
I have read all of the similar forum threads but I couldn't find any relevant answer:
Notes what I have read but didn't help:
    note 543414
    note 546981
    note 176492
I think the basic configuration should be correct as most of the MTEs can trigger and send out e-mail notification from satelite systems.
    Thanks in advance,
    Peter
Edited by: Peter Kalmar on Mar 12, 2010 4:21 PM

    Hi Peter,
by any chance were your auto reactions based on alerts that were related to GRMG type availability checks. I've been setting up some monitors with auto reactions and have found that the alerts based on the systems that have the SAPCCM4X,SAPCCMSR type agents supplying the RZ20 data for the systems seem to work ok. The alerts when triggered get the emails sent out via SAPCONNECT and out to the internet mail recipient that was defined in the central system auto reaction method.
However, I'm having a problem getting the GRMG based alerts to go out, they stick in the alert monitor with status "ACTION_REQUIRED" and only send the emails after the manual task of initiating the auto-reaction method in the alert monitor is performed. They use the same auto-reaction method as the others which are working ok, so I'm still trying to figure out why these GRMG based alerts are failing to run the auto reaction method unattended.

    Brian.

  • Auto-reaction email with SOLMAN

    Hello,
i have configured the the satellites in solution manager (monitoring, EWA...). Now i want configure auto-reaction emailing such availavility, but in the rz20 of SOLMAN i don't find the monitoring parameters of satellites. My question is: if i want auto-reaction configuration for each satellite, i have to configure it in each satellite, otherwise, i can configure it centrally from SOLMAN?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Carlos

    Hi Carlos,
As Thomas mentioned , if you are intrested only in availability checks of satellite systems , you have to install only CCMSPING . SAPCCMS4x isnt required. But if you like to monitor other alerts like system logs , job failure , table space monitoring etc etc and want to set up auto reactions you have to install sapccms4x.
For CCMSPING isntallation , go through
http://service.sap.com/monitoring --> Monitoring in Detail -->Availability Monitoring and Agent CCMSPING

  • Auto-Reaction Method - External Operating System Command

    Hello ,
I am trying to run a script (test.cmd) on a monitored java system out of solution manager via ccms auto-reaction method, but without success.
I have created a RFC Connection to the java system in transaction sm59, defined an external operation command in transaction sm69 (/usr/sap/test.cmd) and an auto-reaction method using that command. But when I test the command in transaction sm49 with the RFC connection as target destination, the command is executed on the local CEN system (SolutionManager system) instead of the monitored java system. I have no clue where's the problem???
