Central Deployment 3560 L3 Switch IOS

Hello,
In Cisco NAC Appliance Switch and Wireless LAN Controller Support guide i have found that the least IOS for 3560 L3 switch should be
Catalyst 3750/3560 (L3 switch)             Yes with 12.2(25) SEE and higher
I have a switch with IOS loaded c3560-ipservicesk9-mz.122-55.SE.bin" Does it will support,????? It is much difference in SE and SEE????
Thanks

Hi,
Yes it will support.
122-55.SE is later than 12.2(25) SEE, so you will not have any issue.
Any IOS later than 12.2(25) SEE will be supported -> works.

Tiago

Has anyone experienced the mute switch / auto-rotate switch iOS bug on their ipad?
I have experienced this on iPad 1 as well as iPad 2.
Basically, when you set the side switch to toggle screen orientation (or mute), after a period of use I will have either my sound cease to function or the ipad screen will not orient correctly.  This depends on what i have chosen the side switch to toggle.  I am not sure what causes it.  The time it takes for the problem to appear is inconsistent. Some say it is caused by third party applications.
One can find numerous threads on here if you search for "sound on my ipad stopped working" or "orientation not working".  It appears to be the same problem. Fudging with the toggle switch settings can fix it (but it takes a weird order to get it out of its non functioning loop).
Here is a thread that addresses the sound issue:  https://discussions.apple.com/message/15263298#15263298

Its only for notifications.. it is not for sound from videos or music!

  • Access code with CCM in a centralized deployment

    Hi,
I've got a centralized deployment with CCM6 and two sites. I used two H.323 gateways and set the PSTN access code to 9. I defined my route pattern and put my gateways in a route list. My problem is that I've got most of the calls from site B routed the site A gateway. I've thought of two access codes but what if i've got 100 sites to deal with.
    Please advice,

this is not a Video over IP question, please use the NetPro categories appropriately
use CSS and partitions to route the calls to the right GW depending on the source of the call

  • Two Catalyst 3560-X switches - anything required to connect the two together?

I have one 3560-X switch currently in production. I bought another one to expand. Can I simply install it in the same rack and connect the two with a standard patch cable? Is a crossover cable required? Any special port configuration required? My "manual" for the 3560 keeps referencing the 3750-X. I don't have any "Stackwise" or "Stackpower" ports on the back. I'm sorry for posting such a simple question but what surprises me even more is I cannot find any information online in the last hour about this. I called support and they told me to come here.
    Thanks!

It is better to use a cross-over cable so in case someone likes to get pedantic and hard-code the speed/duplex setting you won't panic.

You have a 3560-X and like the 3750-X you should have StackPower.  StackPower will depend on whether or not you have a redundant power supply installed at either one of the units. If you didn't exercise this option, then you don't need to.
As to the accuracy of the documentation, yes, Cisco's been dropping-the-ball lately with documentation ... and from what I've heard, it's going to get worst as more and more people leave.

  • Any possibility of upgrading 2950 switch IOS

    Hi,
I would like to know if possible to upgrade my cisco 2950 switch IOS from Standard to Enhanced Image, As I notice from some one that it comes standard box with no uograde capabilities.
Is that means as hardware upgrade or IOS Image Upgrade?
Ankur : u have helped me before but I am still confused.
    thanks,

The ability to run either the SI or EI features on the 2950 is hardware dependant. If you have a look at the release notes for the latest IOS there is a table about 2 pages in detailing the various 2950's available and whether they run the SI or EI features.
The actual IOS software image is the same for both the EI & SI switches but only the EI features are available on the platforms that support it.
The 2950-12, 2950-24, 2950SX-24, 2950SX-48-SI and 2950T-48-SI only have the SI features, it looks like all the others run the EI.

  • Cisco switch IOS deletion

    Hi
i've got two cisco 3750 Switches where by the ios images have been erased from the units there is no back up version on the switches that i can see,
I do have a swicth with a valid IOS image, My question is how would i go about taking a copy of that working IOS and placing it onto my PC then onto the switches that dont have the IOS.
    Regards
    Paul

The approach suggested by Dragan of copying directly from switch to switch should work. The other option would be to use tftp to copy the switch IOS from the switch to your PC and then on the switches that do not have images copy using tftp from your PC to the switch.
If the switch has no image is it running in rommon? If so the tftpdnld command may give you the ability to copy the IOS image.
Perhaps we should also verify that the image on the one switch is appropriate to use on the other switches. Are the other switches the same model, do they have the same amount of flash and of memory?

  • Centralized Auth. / Local Switching - Common SSID

    Hi All,
I'm looking at a design where I would have a few remote sites and a centralized WLC.  My requirement would be to have a common SSID advertised across the remote sites and have that SSID locally switch; so to note tunnel all the traffic across the WAN back to the central site.
I know the feature I'm looking for is H-REAP with Centralized Authentication and Local switching...but I'm unsure of the second part...which is to have a common SSID across the remote sites.  How do I accomplish the second part?  I heard mention of using AP Groups in another post.  Just looking for more direction.

You're all correct except on the last part.
what you want to do is configure your SSID in advanced options to enable HREAP Local switching.
Then only the APS at remote site you move to HREAP mode one by one.
From there, all the APs you configured as HREAP will be locally switching traffic and the APs in local mode will still forward traffic through the controller.
    I hope this clarifies ?

  • VLAN's, subinterface, access-lists and 3560 catalyst switch?

    Hi,
How can I isolate VLAN 121 from all others?
I have a cisco 2811 router connected to a 3560 catalyst switch which has 5 VLAN's of which I need to protect IP traffic of 4 from 1.
The following VLANs configured on the switch:
    VLAN 0 192.168.132.0 /24
    VLAN 135 ..135.0 /24
    VLAN 137 ..137.0 /24
    VLAN 139 ..139.0.24 and lastly,
VLAN 121 192.168.121.0 /24 which I wish to isolate all IP from VLAN 0, 135, 137, and 139 but have internet out the 2811's other interface. Currently all VLAN's and routing are working perfectly.
I need some advice please. Here is my plan:  to split the FA0/0 into FA0/0.1 for VLAN 121 using dot1q and apply an access-list to deny 192.168.121.0 to the FA0/0 interface. Since I'm essentially creating VLAN's with the router can or will that interfere with the Switch VLAN configuration? router on a stick vs. a Layer 4 Cisco 3560 Catalyst switch?
    Thank you!

I will have to assume VLAN 0 is the native VLAN / default interface on the router?  All VLANs are numbered native or not.  Just ensure the VLAN numbering matches between the router and the trunking on the switch.
Yes, you could create a sub interface on the 2811 and use the router to route the VLAN.  Apply an access list on the other interfaces to block access to the VLAN you want to protect.  If you have routing enabled on the 3560 as well you would complicate the situation a bit more.

  • What's the password to logon the 3560 series switch on express setup

what's the password to logon the 3560 series switch on express setup

    Hi Samuel,
The 3560 doesn't have a password configured on it by default. You may want to double check the procedure for accessing Express Setup in case a step was missed:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3560/hardware/quick/guide/3560gsg_08.html#wp49930
If that still doesn't work, you can reset the switch to factory defaults by following this guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3560/hardware/quick/guide/3560gsg_08.html#wp46478
    Hope that helps.

  • POE 3560 Issue after IOS upgrade

    Hello,
I having issue where 6 WLAN AP's not coming back uo after reboot and IOS upgrade of 3560 POE swtiches - . Prior to changes here most if not all ALL the 23 Aps were mainly on one switch, Now after these changes they are now spread over three switches ( 3560's) - with 17 coming back on line
I am sure its not the power limitation of the switch(s) as the one switch I am TS at present had a fairly large allocation of the aps attached prior to ios upgrade and reload. and the available power value now showing is applicable.for 8 AP's
I have tried various TS steps to try and bring them back up - A couple of things I would like to try but I am restricted to do so is to check the APS physically or downgrade the ios!
Any input on this matter would be truly appreciated.- (attached is the log buffer debug)

    c3560-ipbase-mz.122-25.SEE2.bin
You upgraded the IOS to the switch?  I shudder at the thought of what old version did you upgrade FROM.
    Available:370.0(w) Used:110.4(w) Remaining:259.6(w)
You've got more than enough PoE left.
Only two things comes to my mind:
    1.   Cable issue - Unfortunately, the 3560 is a non-GigabitEthernet and this particular sub-model does NOT support TDR.
    2.  Hardware failure - Read THIS.

  • Attempting to upgrade Switch IOS with Cisco Works 2.06

I am running RME version 4.05 and am trying to test pushing IOS images on a 3560 48port PS switch running 128mb ram and 16mb flash. When I run an analysis on Cisco works it states I only have 127mb of ram and 15 mb of flash. Is this a known bug in Cisco works. I am concerned if I upgrade with the current ram I have it will not work.

Which report are you running specifically? I have seen something like this before.

  • Assigning multiple ports/interfaces to a VLAN-Switch-IOS

    Hi,
I am trying to assign ports/Interfaces to VLAN 2 but need to assign the whole blade or many ports on two or three blades to VLAN 2. Switch CAT 4500 running Cisco IOS - I can only do one port/interface at a time:
    Switch-4500(config)# interface fastEthernet 0/2
    Switch-4500(config-if)# switchport access VLAN 2
vlan Set VLAN when interface is in access mode
So this way, as explained above one port at a time gets assigned to a VLAN. I need to do multiple ports. how can I do this if possible at all.
    Thanks,
    Masood

Thanks for getting back to me. You know, I have taken over this network just recently and have realized that the company that was taking care of this network had done this way:
    1 main subnet (Uers, Servres,WS, ect)- VLAN2
1 Development Subnet - VLAN 3 - still active but not in use
So all of my switches, i.e. two CAT 4006, Two CAT 3560, and one New 4500 (just purchased) all on VLAN 2. the main CAT switch has VLAN 3 information since the DEV subnet connects to it as well.
Now , I am trying to create 4 or 5 functional VLANS for my main network (currently has all my switches and Three Routers in it and VLAN 2).
    2 CAT 4006 switch
    1 CAT 4500 Switch
    2 CAT 3560
    1 CAT 3550
    2 CAT 2948-G-TX
2 Border or Gateway Routers Cisco 2621
1 gateway Router 2621 (Connects this office to a remote extention to this office using a point to point T1 and at th eother end - Private IP, connects to Internet Via an ISP).
My two border Router - public IP and connects two T1a, one prim and the other one shadow.
    I guess my question is:
what would be the best way to create VLAN 2,3,4,5,6
using the above switches and routers and have Intervlan communications through Truncking and management through VTP or else.
I want to create VLANs in such a way that if a user belong to VLAN2 seats at 12 flr and another user belong to this same VLAN 2 seats at 14 floor makes no difference, so independent of users location - how do I do the port assignment on the switches to do this? No resource or network file resource segmentation needed sonce all users wil acess same information.
I really appreciate your sugestions and help.
    Regards,
    Masood

  • 3560 POE lost ios

I have a 3560 POE that will no longer boot and I am not able to load a fresh copy of software onto it.  It appears that it has lost all data.  When I attempt to TFTP a new IOS, I receive that following error:
    Transfer cancelled by remote system
I have tried using dir flash: to see what is contained in the flash directory but I receive the below message:
unable to stat flash/: no such device
I am stuck in rommon mode so when I do switch: dir command, I don't even see flash as being a filesystem.  The below list are the only systems registered.
    bsdcs[0]:  (read-only)
    bstage[1]: (read-only)
    fstage[2]: (read-write)
    xmodem[3]: (read-only)
    null[4]: (read-write)
    tftp[5]: (read-only)
Is this switch finished or is there something else I could try?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

Just for reference's sake, if anyone is seeing the same thing when they punch in "dir flash", try to punch in "dir flash:" instead. See example below from my ws-c3750-48ts:
