Central location for IPhone apps

Hi,
My company has recently rolled out I Phones to all members of staff as our new business phones.
My director has asked me to look into the possibility of having a central store for apps that can be shared amongst the staff. For example the technical staff use the telnet app from the store, does each member of staff need to buy it or is there a way that it can be bought once by the company and then be shared out to the members of staff?

Yes, you have. However, that's not an option. There are three modes of app distribution:
1) The iTunes App Store
2) Ad-hoc distribution - for developers, limited to 100 copies
3) Enterprise distribution - via a corporate server, for organizations with 500+ employees and only for internally developed apps
For 3rd party apps already on the App Store, each user will need to buy the app from the app store (apps are DRM-protected and linked to the iTunes Store account used to download them).

    If so just use the search bar in the top right to search for the update you are looking for.

  • Problems With FaceBook For IPhone App

    am having problems with the FaceBook for IPhone app. I can only comment in the notifications or newsfeed tabs, and the comment buttons don't work when I attempt to comment directly on a friend's status. The app also has repeatedly crashed. The latest mess is that I'm not even able to view my profile, messages, etc. Uninstalling and reinstalling seems to be only a temporary fix. I have complained to the developers to no avail with each update. I'm running IOS 4.3.3 and My IPhone model is AT&T service 32GB black. I'm using Voice Over.

    Have you tried deleting and re-installing the app?

  • Networking iTunes and central location for music

    Starting to get really frustrated with something I think should be simple. We have multiple computers in our home and a Mac Mini server I'd like to use for a centralized location for ALL of our iTunes music. I've created a shared media library for all of the media I've downloaded to the server and can see it on all of the computers. HOWEVER, we just made our first iTunes purchase since setting this all up, only to discover we can't download music directly to the server - we have to download it to the individual computer, copy it to the server, then manually add it to the server's library. ***?
    There's got to be a better way to do this. Can't we have all of the computers in the house reading from the server, and when new music is added set it all to go to the same library on the server that updates automatically when new files are added? Anyone help?

  • Central location for ssh authorized public keys?

    Hi guys,
    I have been studying how to use ssh, but this has been bothering me and I will really appreciate any help.
    When you generate public keys for users, they go to the ~/.ssh/authorized_keys . If you as root, want to take control of all users public keys, say you want to have a central location for all public keys. You want sshd to read all keys from a different location rather than ~/.ssh/authorized_keys.
    How will you go about doing this?

    however, I forgot to mention that if you modify the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file, you should restart the sshd daemon.
    $0.01: Restart the SSH daemon FROM ANOTHER SHELL to keep an active/running shell on the system, to recover, just in case.
    $0.02: I suggest a two-steps approach to be sure that the sshd daemon is correctly restarted and the new ssh session is not picking up a thread that hasn't properly re-read the configuration
    # svcadm disable ssh; sleep 5; svcadm enable ssh

    Did you ever enable Find My iPhone on your iPhone in Settings > iCloud?
    If you did not, you're out of luck.  You will not be able to locate your iPhone using any app.
    If you did, simply log on to iCloud on any computer at http://www.icloud.com and go to the Find My iPhone link.

    I'm unable to change my install location for my apps. I changed the preferences to the harddrive I want the apps to download to, but they keep trying to download to C.I don't have enough room on that drive

    Fixed. It seems like for whatever reason it took a good 10 - 15 minutes for it to recognize the changes in the preference menu

    I'm planning to get a Mac Mini 2010, with 4GB of ram instead of the default basic 2GB. I'm getting it to do iphone app development. Is this computer going to be sufficient? Are there any caveats I should be aware of?

    I got exactly that setup for exactly that purpose... even the 4GB upgrade Even without the ram upgrade it should still be fine for iPhone app development. I've not run into any problems with mine.
    I got my ram upgrade because I want to run Windows inside MacOS using virtualization software - that kinda thing requires lots of ram.
    You might want to wait two days though before you buy. Apple has an event on Wednesday (October 20th) and it looks like there will be a lot of focus on Mac, possibly some hardware upgrades and a new version of MacOS.

    Few days back I wanted to download BBM for iPhone to which I was diverted to New Zealand App Store automatically.
    So whenever I tried to download apps from the AppStore it said, I wasn't in the region which I should be that is India and being in different region I can't download any app.
    So I followed the instructions as above. After updating the region and the proceeding pages of the instruction. There was a deduction of money.
    I didn't buy any gift card or anything neither I went to that page.

    You can Google a term such as "essential iPhone apps" or "must-have iPhone apps" and you will get lots of results. People vary as far as which apps they like the best. I also check out the App Store on a regular basis to see what the Top 100 apps are. If a lot of people are downloading an app, it makes me curious about it, and I'm more likely to check it out.

  • How do I change the password that connects my Outlook for iPhone app with my Exchange server?

    I changed my domain password so I needed to change it on my iPhone Outlook app. I have looked everywhere I can think of, in the settings and everywhere else, and cannot find anything that will allow me to change the password. I had to uninstall and re-install.
    This seems ridiculous to me.

    I would very much like to get "the most qualified pool of respondents". However, in the link you supplied there is NO place to ask a question. There was someone who asked a similar question and the response was from a Microsoft Support Engineer pointing
    him to yet another place "for better suggestions". This site is setup like some gigantic maze where when you can't answer a simple question like; Where can I change my domain password in the new Outlook App for iPhones? You pass us around until you
    figure it out, or we give up, delete the app and start feeling like not everyone over at Microsoft has a brain. I apologize for the frustration level, but when I do this kind of thing for a living and it becomes this difficult, I can't imagine what most of

  • Automatic updates for iPhone apps?

    Hi all,
    Is it possible for iTunes to automatically download updates for my iPhone apps as they become available? I haven't found any way to set this up. It would be great if iTunes would download updates in the background (as is the case with podcasts), so they would be available to sync every time I connect my iPhone. Let me know if this is doable.

    It seems like a good idea but it isn't. There has been a few instances when an app update crippled or reduced functions. I like to read what is included in a updated before downloading it. Shazam is one example. The free version worked for years. Shazam was crippled via an update before the iPhone 4 was released.

  • Central location for MIMEs ???

    I am using BSPs in CRM. There are many BSPs (about 100 to 150) that use the same .CSS(Cascading style sheet) file.
    I have included this .CSS file in all 100 BSPs (in the MIMEs)
    I want to know if I can store them at a centralized location and access them from this centralized location (so that I donot have to include them in each and every BSP application) ???????????

    You can access MIME Objects from BSP Application to another or store it in the PUBLIC Directory...

    Why just this version you mentioned?
    You find driver on future by following the Support/Download menu option on this page header!!!
