Central monitoring of profile parametes of managed systems

Hi,
is there a standard functionality in Solution Manager to monitor the profile parameters of the managed systems?
In other words, can Solution Manager read profile parameters of its clients through the agent and store them in own database?
It could be usefull to check the differences between parameters of the systems.
regards,
Kris

  • Exchange profile parameter problem after system copy of XI server

I'm getting problem after the system copy of XI server. Following is the details. pls help to fix this one:
XQA is the system copy of XDV server. XQA is installed on rx2n1v1 server and XDV is installed on dbcixdv server. Following is weblink of XQA and XDV.
    XQA: http://rx2n1v1:57400
    XDV: http://dbcixdv:57000
After the system copy of XQA, i changed all xdv related parameters (hostname/port) in visual admin and configtool of XQA server.
Now when i run sxmb_ifr tcode in XQA, it should open the link of XQA server ( http://rx2n1v1:57400). But it open the link of XDV server (http://dbcixdv:57000).
The cause of this problem is the xdv parameter entires (hostname/portnumber of xdv) in exchange profile of  XQA server (http://rx2n1v1:57400/exchangeProfile).
Now if i change hostname/portnumber of xdv in XQA server (http://rx2n1v1:57400/exchangeProfile), it also make the same change in XDV server  (http://dbcixdv:57000/exchangeProfile).
Both XQA and XDV are in differnet hardware server. I don't understand why making changes of exchangeprofile in XQA also changed the value of exchangeprofile in XDV.
    Hope it clarify.
Pls give the solution of this problem.
    Thanks

  • Profile Parameter : Time out for executing query on the web

    Hi gurus,
I am executing queries on the web directly. This can be done from query designer with the button that says "Execute query on web". The problem is that for queries that take more than 600 Secs to run, I get an Application timed out error. Queries that take less than this run smoothly.
Can anyone please tell me the profile parameter associated with this particular setting. It is not rdisp/max_wprun_time, I know for sure since the value for this profile parameter in my system is 9999. Please help.
    Thanks & rgds,

  • Deleted User recreation - Connected Profile Parameter

When I try to create a user which was deleted I get a pop-up message "old sapoffice data found for this user name. do you want to copy this data to the new user? "
    1. I get this message only in some systems but not in all systems. What controls this pop-up message ? Is there a profile parameter or a system setting which controls this?
    2. In CUA setup, would this message pop-up ?

    Hi,
When you try to create a user which existed in the system in past and was deleted, then SAP automatically prompts you to check if you want to copy the old settings for that user. User history is stored in USH* tables.
So you will not have this message everywhere in your landscape, only if that user id existed in the system in past.
    Cheers !!

  • Solution Manager and external Central Monitoring system

We have a Solution Manager system SOL and a Central Monitoring system
CEN.  The monitored system SDS is configured to report CCMS data to CEN
and I wanted SOL to be able to access this data.  After configuring SDS
to CEN, CEN that the following entry in RZ21:
    SDS#SDS_RZ20_COLLECT#SDS_RZ20_ANALYZE
After performing the wizard in SOL, SOL now has the following entries
    in RZ21:
    SDS2#SM_SDS2CLNT200_READ#SM_SDS2CLNT200_TRUSTED
This would indicate to me that SOL is reading the CCMS information
directly from the monitored system, rather than via CEN.
In the 'Setup System Monitoring' of Solution Manager the Central
Monitoring System and CEN destination are SOL and NONE respectively.
Is this configuration correct, and if not how do I correctly configure
    it?
Is the monitored system now only reporting data to SOL, or is it
reporting to both CEN and SOL?

  • Java Stack for Central monitoring system

I believe for central monitoring with only ABAP stack is sufficient to monitor both remote ABAP and JAVA stacks. For this purpose CCMS and GRMG can be used. My questing is there any need to have JAVA stack in central monitoring system? If yes, what are the things that only ABAP stack can not do alone and JAVA stack is required in central monitoring system?

    Hi,
    >
    > it also mentioned about creating CSMREG user, but it did not say in which client this activity needs to be performed, and there are lot many steps in which there is no mention about the client of solution manager in which we have to perform the configuration.
    >
You should created this user in working client.
    > Can you guys please help me to configure properly?
    >
    > One set document which I saw talks about the configuration using RZ21 and other document discuss about Configuration using System Monitoring Work Center, which one do we need to follow, are both methods are 2 different options doing the same thing, can you please clarify?
    >
You can use RZ21 or System monitoring through work center. From Solution manager 7.1, you need to use work center only. So, I would suggest you to use work center only.

  • Solution Manager System Monitoring for non SAP system

    Dear Support,
I have configured the CCMS Agent (SAPCCMSR) for non-SAP system (Windows 2008R2).
The system information (e.g. CPU, Memory, Disks etc) has already showed in RZ20 of Central Monitoring system (e.g. Solution Manager).
How can I do to configure to display these information in the Alert Inbox tab on System Monitoring Workcenter?
    Best regards,
    Fan Hung

    Hi,
Have you defined and added corresponding logical systems for the respective satellite systems?
Here is the sequence of steps you've to do:
    in SMSY:
    1) Define server, DB, Systems
    2) Generate READ, TMW, TRUSTED RFCs to the satellite systems
    3) define logical systems and assign the satellite system to it
    in Solution_Manager:
    1) define new solution
    2) add the logical system into the solution
If these steps are successful, you should be able to see the satellite system in SYSTEM MONITORING in Solution_Manager.
Have you already done these steps?
    After performing these steps:
    Solution_Manager>choose relevant solution>operations setup>Solution Monitoring>System monitoring>Activate monitoring> choose the system and activate monitoring.
    Your system will then appear.
    Does this help any way?

  • Xi3.0 Monitoring using a Central Monitoring system

    Hi Guys
Has any of you managed to integrate XI3.0 SLD into Solution Manager 3.10 SLD or is it just not possible?
Have you figured out how to setup XI3.0 and Alert management to integrate that into a Central Monitoring system?
    /tobbe

    Hi Guys
I guess the obvious solution to my very own question would be to...
    1. Install a 640 J2EE instance as a MASTER SLD
    2. Configure both XI and Solution Manager to call "MASTER SLD" for info.
I will produce a document and publish it here as soon as I am done with the installations and configurations
    Thanks for a great TechED

  • Can PI 7.1 and Central Monitoring on Solution Manager 7.0 coexist

    Hi,
I would like to know if there are any restrictions if any for using PI 7.1 instead of PI 7.0 with Solution Manager 7.0, NWA 7.0 and CCMS 7.0. I would like to know the problems if any we may face for central monitoring PI 7.1 from Solution manager 7.0.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Monitoring of Standalone EP 7.0 system in Solution Manager 7.0

    Hi Experts,
I need to configure Solution manager 7.0 for monitoring EP 7.0 (Stand alone ) system.
Can you share documents related to configuration of Solution Manager 7.0 for monitoring EP 7.0 system?
    Thanks,
    Anit

    Hi,
EP Monitoring is done by Solution Manager Diagnostics.
    Some Basis steps for ref
    1. Definition of EP system thru SMSY in solution manager system
    2. SMD agent installation in EP system with CCMS ping cofiguration in both solman and EP system
    3. Wily Introscope Enterprise manager installation in solution manager system
    3. From SMD wizard, you can configure the list of activities to be monitored for a EP system.
For detailed info check SMD installation guide

  • Battery management system design for EV to monitor and to balance the Li-Ion cells' voltages using LabView, NI myRIO-1900 and LTC6804-2 IC

    Hello,
I have NI myRIO-1900 and LabView 2014. I need to design a Bettary management system to monitor and balance the rechargable Lithium-Ion battery packs' voltages and charges using LTC6804-2 IC. I am facing some problems to program the IC for monitoring and balancing the cells' voltages and charges using LabView via NI myRIO. Can anyone help me to design this by giving some references and technques.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Mohammad,
I believe with EPS you can monitor the cells' voldates and charging. I'm not sure what you mean by balancing, though. Can you elaborate a bit more?
    Thanks.

  • Solution Manager - Central Monitoring

    Hi,
I keep on hearing the buzz word that Solution Manager would be used as central monitoring from PI 7.1 or later.
Can anyone explain more about this?
I was assuming that solution manager is just to store all the documents and processes.

  • Can SMD be setup to monitor the Managing System?

Hello, We have been working off and on for the last few months
installing Wily Introscope, which in turn required E2E RCA, which in
turn required SMD to be installed.  Since virtually all of our systems
are on a relatively low pl of the kernel, 114, we also installed the
latest SP and kernel to our Solution Manager system.  So, the SM system
    is at 7.00 pl 146, and SPS 16 (it's a dual-stack UNICODE system).
However, every other of our almost 27 ABAP stacks are at pl 114,
    unfortunately.
We had read, via SAPNet note 1126859, that the MANAGED system must be
at least at kernel 7.00 pl 121.  As I saidl, only our MANAGING SM
system is at that level.  So we thought that we'd try to have SM
monitor itself, in the context of SMD and Wily Introscope.
Unfortunately, we got stuck at setting up the trusted RFCs for the SM
system to monitor itself.  SAP AG's instructions for setting up the
trusted RFCs is in the following guide: Root Cause Analysis
Installation and Upgrade Guide (v3.30 - July 2008), section
6.3.2 "Setup RFC Destinations to Managed Systems".  Transaction SMT1
doesn't permit 2 RFCs with the same target <sid>.
    So, our questions:
    1. Can a MANAGING system also be a MANAGED system?
    2. If so, would you kindly clarify how to configure the RFCs for that
scenario? Or perhaps we don't use RFCs in this scenario?
For now, we will move on and try to setup Wily/SMD for a Java-stack
    system we have available (Portal).

    Hi Felipe Pitta,
The Managing system can be managed, for that include your Solman in a solution and proceed all the needed activities like Agent installation, Wily agent setup etc as you do for the managed systems.
You need to create RFCs to the BI client of the solman if you are the same BI component which is available in Solman (001 is your BI client) or RFCs should be created for the BI system which you are using.
WEBADMIN RFC will be created automatically during SMD Agent installation.
By this your solman's data will be collected.
For furthur clarifications pls revert back
