Central Performance History from satellite systems

Hi,
I'm investigating Central Performance History at the moment but am having problems getting the statistics from the satellite systems from Solution Manager.
I have our Solution Manager system setup as the CCMS CEN. I monitor about 10 SAP instances using CCMS and a number of non-SAP systems. CCMS works okay and issues alerts. I believe that this means I have the necessary RFCs in place for communication between Solution Manager and satellite systems to collect performance data.
When I use RZ23N to review the data being collected it only shows the Solution Manager system, it doesn't show any of the other SAP systems.
How can I configure the other systems to send their performance stats to Solution Manager so I can report centrally?
SolMan - NW 7.01SP4 on Windows 2003
Satellite systems - NW 7.0
I've read through the help pages but them only seem to reference one system, rather than collecting from satellite systems.
Thanks,
Gareth

Hi David,
Thanks, I hadn't looked at the note.
Section 2 - history of all connected systems showed me what to do to collect the data. I had seen that in the setup but not understood the implications of it fully. The note explained it much clearly than the SAP help.
Thanks again,
Gareth

  • Need some hints for evaluating data from Central Performance History

    Hi Experts,
I am pretty new to all the BI-stuff and hopefully someone can provide some hints. I got the requirement to read data (CPU usage/peaks) from central performance history of "system a" into "bi system" to generate overviews/charts/etc
Now I guess there might be a standard report/info cubes and stuff which will help to solve this.
I would really appreciate if someone could throw me a few keywords about this topic.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Roles required to create support message from satellite system

    Hi Team,
I am trying to create support message from satellite system. i have assigned S_RFC and S_RFCACL to the Zrole. Apart from that, is there any other roles to be assined in satelite system to create support message?
    Regards
    Kumar

    I think that's it.
Of course they roles in the central system too: SAP_SV_FDB_NOTIF_BC_ADMIN and SAP_SUPPDESK_CREATE (or copies thereof).

  • Service Desk - Create Message from Satellite System

    Hi Guru,
I'm learning SAP Solution manager service desk tools (on EHP1 SP22). I've managed to activate it and I can create the message from satellite system (with SLFN as default transaction type). Is it possible to change default of transaction type while creating support message from satellite system (e.g. using ZSLF, etc)?
    Appreciate for your input.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Yan

Yes. It is very much possible.
    Use transaction - SPPFCADM
    select the row - DNO_NOTIF
click on - Define action profile and action
Select the action profile - SLFN0001_STANDARD_DNO
    Select the action - SLFN0001_STANDARD_DNO_CRM
in processessing type, change the container value to ZSFN.
    Hope this will be helpful.

  • Accessing the service desk message from satellite system

    gurus  ,
after creating a creating a service desk message to solution manager system via HELP->CREATE SUPPORT MESSAGE ,
how does the message creator from satellite system will view/change the message created by them at late point of time ?

    Susin,
the problem is a commonly asked one that I get when I present the Solution Manager to customers. There is always the question: How can the user see the status of the ticket?
From my point of view you can give them access to the worklist but I guess it is really a pain for the user to log on to SolMan and to access the information from there through a complex transaction.
Alternatively to provide the user with access to the ticket system, you could consider sending out an email on (all or only critical) status changes from the system bei assigning an activity to the status change. That might be much easier for the user (and for you).
After looking at and working with work centres I think it would be worth to install the neccesary patch level. It is really beneficial, for the user reporting a problem, as well as for your help desk monitoring their issues.
Since it is a very common question, and Ruediger seems to be close to the source, can you (Ruediger) maybe provide some information how SAP is going to handle that in the future? Is SAP purely focussing on the work centers in Solution Manager, or is SAP planning on a track & trace possibility within the satellite system for the users?
I guess there is no easy solution to your problem, but maybe I was able to provide some ideas how to provide more funtionality.
    Cheers
    Markus

  • Not able to create a message from satellite system

    Hello Everyone.
We have been working on Solution Manager .We have managed with successfull installation,Uploaded required support packages, configured the system according to SAP Solution Manager Guide.
Faced with some problem regarding support desk,we are not able to create a message from satellite system to Solution Manager.
Note : Error Message related to this problem is ....
<b>"Error in Local Message System : External number assignment, Enter notification num message was not Created."</b>
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Nimesh V . Master

Hi, you need to check the number ranges for the notifications and make sure they are correct.  Look in the IMG of the SAP Solution Manager system for the instructions.  You also need to make sure that the Service Desk BC Sets are activated if you are NOT on 4.0 and SP Stack 09+.  In the later SPs much of this configuration from the IMG is automated in the wizard.

  • Error 513 while raising the message from satellite system

    Hello All,
When I try to send message(Service desk) from satellite system, i get following message
"Because of error 513, no message was creat
    Support Desk System"
I gusses there is some problem with authorisation.
please guide how can I fix this issue.
    Regards,
    Shyam.

    Hi Gurus,
I have assigned customized action profile to SLFN transaction.
When I try to send message(Service desk) from satellite system, I get following message
"Because of error 513, no message was created
    Support Desk System"
But when we check in crm_dno_monitor , the message is created at the backend, but without assigning external number range.
Whenever I am making any modification in action profile, it is creating the first messgae after restart
of SAP Solman System, but for next message, Error 513 message is raised and message is created at backend without assigning external number to it
I think there is some problem in number range or buffer in number range
Can some one help me in this
    regards

  • Creating Support Messages from Satellite System without SolMan user account

    Hi
We are having some problems with users "creating support message" from our ECC system  to SolMan, if the user does not have a user account in Solution Manager.
It is not correct, that users from Satellite systems can create support messages from these systems, without the user having an account in Solution Manager? And that the user is identified by the business partner for the user, that must exist in the Solution Manager system ?
We have set up the RFC for the supportmessages between SolMan and the ECC system as trusted RFC, with the "Current user" as the user, but how should this be set up, if the user does not have an account in the Solution Manager system. If we enter a user with the right authorizations in the RFC, will the messages that come through not just appear as created by that user, instead of the ECC user and corresponding business partner ?
    Regards
    Lars

    Hi,
you can use the use the user for the RFC-Connection in that case. I have customizied a similar scenario. In my scenario the System from which the message was created, is the business partner (SOLD-TO-PARTY). For that you have to create a communication user (i.e SOLMAN<SYSID>). In TA SM59 in the satellite-system you assign this user for the connection. (Don't forget to assign the user to the role "SAP_SV_FDB_NOTIF_BC_ADMIN"). Now, it schould be possible to create messages from the satellite system to the solution manager. Additionally you should create business-partner for each user of the satellite system, by using TA DSWP>EDIT>CREATE BUSINESS PARTNER.
With this TA, it is easy to create BP for each satellite system.
    Best regards
    Marc

  • Migrate config to Solar02 from Satellite Systems

    Hi Gurus
I need to know if there is a way to bring in the config form the Satellite systems in to Solman Solar02. The Solaman system up till now has only been used to gererate the installtion keys and System Monitoring. I am busy with the process of setting up change management and service desk. However I have also been tasked with setting up the business blueprint. The original config was never setup in regards to the blueprint. Is the a way to bring this across to Solman or do i manually have to enter enter the business scenarios in Solar02.
    Santosh

    Hi,
Bringing configuration details from Satellite System to SOLMAN
This is one of the Myths about SOLMAN.
SOLMAN helps/guides/enables your to manage your project in a better/efficient manner.
You define your process, document them. Proceed to SOLAR02 to maintain your IMG with corresponding transactions.
    Feel free to revert back.

  • Checking system connected to SOLMAN or Not from Satellite system

    Hi ,
How to check system connected to SOLMAN or Not from Satellite system.
    thanks in advance..
    Rgds,
    BBR.

All connections via SM and satellite system are view RFCs.
In SM, you will have 3-4 RFCs trusted/read/ etc pointing to satellite sm.
in satellite, you will have one RFC to SM called back RFC generally with name - Solution Manager created during SMSY configuration in SM.
Do a test for Connection/Authorization etc for all the RFC's which if fine then the connection is good..
    Regards,
    SS.

  • Connection From Satellite System to Solution Manager for key users

    Hi All,
Can anybody suggest which RFC connection/destination should be maintained in BCOS_CUST table under satellite system to connect to Solution Manager.
    1. SM_SSMCLNT010_TRUSTED
    2. SM_SSMCLNT010_BACK
I don't want user to Login to solution manager while creating a support message. They should create a support messsage seamlessly from satellite system.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks...

    Thakur,
Sorry for the cryptic answer back there - read it myself and it didn't make much sense to me either so here we go with the seamless way to allow users to create service messages.
There are 2 ways to do this - 1 way is to use a connection like the 'BACK' connection but if you do this - all user tickets entered will have the username of the 'BACK' connection logon id as the message creator.  The other way is to use the trusted connection so the userid of the person logging the message is transfered with the created ticket.
I will assume that you want to preserve the unique userid and use trusted connections. So here we go:
Step 1 - Go into BCOS_CUST on the Satelite and put in your TRUSTED RFC Connection as the detination for the Service Messages - either use the one that Solman created when generating or make your own ABAP Trusted Connection.
Step 2 - All users in Satelite and in Solution Manager need to have Authority Object S_RFCACL assigned to their userid's so they can use the Trusted RFC Connection (this is not in SAP_ALL or SAP_NEW).
Step 3 - All users that will use this method of creating service tickets need both a userID and a BP with the respective system keys to allow them to enter tickets for those Satelites.
That is all there is to it assuming that all issues with Trusted Connections have been worked through already (test this in SM59 by going to your 'TRUSTED' connection on the Satelite and execute the RemoteLogon button - you should be sent to the Solution Manager with out having to logon).
If this answers your question, please set this message to answered.

  • Integrating new system into CPH (Central Performance History)

    Hi,
I have configured (CPH( in Solution Manager 7 EHP1, during the configuration I have assigned 2 systems into (CPH)
    1. Solution Manager system itself
    2. R/3 system
in both systems CCMS configuration is done
when displaying report in (RZ23N) I see only solution manager itself, data from other system is not readen, or displayed.
Does someone have the procedure (Document) how exactly to assign system in to CPH, and display required information
Thanks for your help in advance.

  • Any performance impact on satellite systems?

    Hello,
Our productive solution manager are setup to connect to all the ECC, XI & R/3 systems, as central monitoring system.
So far we only use Solman for monitoring & EWA, not even BPM is configured yet.
in SMSY, it's configured to use our XI SLD, to auto collect all the database, server & system data for solman system landscape.
My question is: If there is downtime on Solman system, will it have any performance (slow transaction) on satellite system, especially on my XI system (as solman access the XI SLD).
The reason I post this question here is: recently we have downtime for solution manager due to SP upgrade, during the downtime, we noticed there are a lot (thousand) IDOCs processing messages to R/3 system stucks in XI for 1 of our application. Users starting to make complaints, and we try to find the root cause in XI, in R/3 ... involve our basis guy & also XI admins, but no one able to find why.
By the time PSM is up (after 2-3 hours), ALL the stuck messages in XI are manage to clear/process at once. And until now, on one able to explain why. They are suspecting my solution manager system downtime has the impact on those satellite system.
Solman is setup to use PXI's SLD.
Anyone has feedback on this, is it coincidently, or ?
Please share if you have knowledge on this topic
    Thank you

    Hi,
As per your description I would say it is pure coincidential.
When you configure Solution Manager for system monitoring and/or EWA, all Solution Manager does is to collect the relevant data from the sattelite systems. Just this.
So, when solution manager is not available there should be no reason for any impact on the sattelite systems side.
Also,  from your description, I would say your XI is getting SLD information from Solution Manager. This is the only reason I could figure out that IDOCs are getting stucked in XI.
Is it possibel to ask your XI guys to recheck which SLD XI is using?
    Regards
    Valdecir
