when i check the table j_1itaxdef  the table doesnt not exist .
pls guide

Hi,
Excise defaluts comes in J_1IEXCDEF not in J_1ITAXDEF.
Please refer to the notes. May be came in new patchs. But nowhere the Ji16 program is using J_1ITAXDEF.

  • User Defined Forecast Error

    Hi all ,
After doing forecast i cannot display user defined mape in forecast error tab. I defined my mape in prusere and i can see at the end of the programme run. But i cannot display it on sdp94. Thanks for helping ...

    Hi Yunus,
The assumption here is the Master FCST Profile is already created by you and assigned it to the batch job run.
If user had run the statistical FCST interactively in planning book then as a default some SAP GUID profile is created by the system automatically. Using FCST Comaprison tab in planning book when used for statistical FCST run, you can check the MAPE value in system for the run values and the same can be set as default to check interactively to be shown to the user in sdp94.
Please try this, this will work.
    Thanks and regards,

  • APO DP-Different univarate forecasts -- how to obtain forecast error MAD ?

    Hello all,
I have a question regarding 'forecast errors' when a univariate forecast was executed.
    The requirement is:
    I have a planning book/data view with 5 keyfigures for forecast 1 to 5 and 5 keyfigures for MAD 1 to 5.
    Forecast1
    MAD1
    Forecast2
    MAD2
    Forecast_n
    MAD_n
The idea is to calculate 5 different forecasts and evaluate them (for example with MAD).
One out of the 5 forecasts will be copied then to another keyfigure ( = "Statistical forecast").
In the 'Interactive Demand Planning' I push the button to execute 'univariate forecast'.
I let forecast create for keyfigure "Forecast1" based on historical data.
--> There I can find a tab "Forecast Errors" which provides me with the MAD-value.
    Question:
    - Is there a possibility to take the MAD-value out of that "Forecast Errors tab" and put it in the keyfigure MAD1?
When I have then every MAD-value from the respective forecast (1 to 5) in the dataview I can use a macro to manually or automatically choose which one will be copied to "Statistical Forecast".
I hope I was able to explain what the requirement is and hopefully somebody has an idea.
Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi Visu,
thank you very much for your answer!
I will check your solution with a developer (I do not develop).
As I understand I can then use this in an BADI/User exit macro.
    Another strange thing is:
When I use SE16 with table /SAPAPO/FCSTACCU and let me list all the content --> I copy PROPID from this table and want to use it explicitly in the selection screen of SE16 to show me the one entry --> it fails because in some way the long key (PROPID) is not recognized.
    (Example: IOjC29Eu0JxX0800r00G60)
    Thanks and Best Regards

  • Demand planning Forecast errors and KPI to store results of error

I have following requirement: keep traceabilitity of hypothesis and forecast error results of former mass process .
In comparison tool, we can compare the result of last interactive forecast run but our requirement is to store those result for KPI purpose.
Is it possible without extra development ? ( built not yet done, we are in design phase)
    Kinds regards,
    Christine

    Hi Christine,
There is Standard Error analysis functionality available for forecast accuracy reporting.
Please refer to the URL below:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm70/helpdata/en/6f/8812ce03ba4f0ca09ea31a1a3e1f0c/frameset.htm
Please  check if these are sufficient for your business needs.
If we want to extarct  standard statistical forecast errors( like MAD, MAPE) calculated in the interactive or batch runs of statistical forecasting , then, to my understanding, development is required.  A short detail is given below:
We need to develop macros for calculation of Univariate forecast erros : MAD and MAPE. New planning book and data views may be required to becreated  Some extra Key figures also will be needed ,used for storing the values.
The macros runs can be run through batch jobs. These calculated forecast errors of MAD and MAPE then can be  compared with the system calculated MAD and MAPE during interactive / batch runs.
The error data can be extracted and stored in the infocubes.
    Please check and confirm.
    Regards
    Datta

  • APO DP - BADI for storing forecast error in mass processing

I am using APO DP V5.
Does anyone have experience of using the BADI for storing the forecast error in mass processing?
    My questions:
    1. Which BADI is it?
    2. Which forecast errors can it store (eg MAD, MAPE, customer specific errors?)
    3. How does it work - does it store the fcst error(s) in a key figure, or a table?
    Any advice appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bob Austin, Atos Origin

    Bob,
Go to SE19 --> create implementation: BADI name /sapapo/sdp_fcst4. give some Z name to implementation. Go to interface tab, select activate_fcst_version method, just write 1 line code inside:
    ev_flag_active = 'X'.
activate the method, activate the BADI implementation too.
This BADI records background forecasting errors into these two tables: /sapapo/fcsthead & /sapapo/fcstaccu.
    Rgds,
    SB.
It stores all of the forecast errors including customer specific errors.

    Hi
I need to understand forecasting errors. Im working on consumption based planning with MRP type 'V2', when i execute the forecast i get error messages as"timeseries characteristics changed", "parameter optimization accesssed", "expost forecast carried out" etc. I checked in the customization where the errors are assigned to error classes(class 1 to 8). Can someone tell me how to interpret these errors, if possible any documentation reg this errors would be useful. "[email protected]"

  • Forecast Errors

    Hi Experts
1)How MSE , RMSE , MAPE ,MPE  works in generation of the forecast.
As there is nothing mentioned in SAP HELP except Formula.
How these errors influence in generating accurate Forecast.
2)Wat error  is given much importance to consider the accuracy of the forecast and model fit.Because when i am generating forecast for one  forecast model , MAD is less and Other model MSE is less and some other model   MAPE is less and Mad is high. Here in this context what model should be considered.
    with regards
    sai

    Hi Sai,
    1) Refer to this [Univariate Forecasting|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/ac/216b6b337b11d398290000e8a49608/frameset.htm]
The system looks at the history and plots some dots into future as in the figures shown in the above link. The system then trys to join this dots and get a kind of trend like constants, trend or season etc. But if you want to draw line or curve, not all dots can be linked. Some of them lie up or down the average line as shown in the sap help link.
It is the variation of these points from the trend line is variance and every other values are derived from this.
Lets say the system found upward trend as the possible model,
Here is how the calculations are made:
    Actualpoint -
    averagelinepoint-variance-%variance-Absolute error(AE)---%AE
    12_____________10_____________2______28.57______2_______________18.18
    15_____________12_____________3______42.86______3_______________27.27
    16_____________14_____________2______28.57______2_______________18.18
    17_____________16_____________1______14.29______1________________9.0
    16_____________18_____________-2______28.57_____2________________18.18
    21_____________20_____________1______14.29______1________________9.0
    SUM--711--
    99.81
    Total of variance(Error): 2321(-2)+1 = 7
    % variance or % error = (2/7)*100 = 28.57
    Average Erorr = sum(variance)/6 = 7/6 = 1.16
    Mean Absolute Error = avg(MAE) = 11/6 = 1.83
Mean absolute Percentage Error(MAPE) = 99.81/6=16.636 and so on for the other errors like MSE etc.
There is no direct explanation like the above in SAP HELP.
    2) MAD or MAPE is usually the benchmark. How ever it is up to the business that decides which error value they want to use. Comparing their business pattern they may find that when the MAD is low the forecastign profile used in more appropriate for our business.

  • Reporting on forecast errors

    Hi,
I need to report on forecast results and errors in BW.
I am trying to extract data from  tables
    /SAPAPO/FCSTACCU
    /SAPAPO/FCSTHEAD
    /SAPAPO/DP_FCST2.
I could get the forecast profile and the selection id associated with that. But my problem is where to look up to find the details of the selection like Material X, Plant Y and so on.
Can somebody help me in this?
    Thanks.

You can search for the tables starting with /1APO*. These tables are automatically generated when you run forecast using automatic model. They are based on your planning area and there is a filed called selection id. There is also a selection ids description that helps you what selection was taken for that. There are also details on the characteristics in CVC. The only problem with this is the table is not common in all the clients and is specific to that system. The good news is it is unique in a client.Your program or report should point that table in that client.
    Hope this helps.

  • Extract forecast results and accuracy (errors) in an ABAP program

    Hi Experts,
We are executing forecast in background using planning jobs in a process chain. We are doing this in 2 stages - 1. at Product group & Location level and 2. at Product & Location level. The selection ids that we have created for these jobs contain multiple product & locaton combinations or product group & locaton combinations.
We can see the forecast reults, messages and errors in the job logs and messages (in the process chain ad spool). I would like to extract this same information into an ABAP program. We are basically tryig to find out the Product group and location combinations for which the MAPE is greater tha 50%.
There is a table /SAPAPO/FCSTACCU which gives the MAPE and other forecast errors. There is a fileld "Pointer for forecast results", I'm not able to relate this with our Product group & Location codes. Can anyone give me any ideas on how to proceed?
Thank you indeed for your contribution.
    Best regards,
    Fasial Ali

    Hi
All the background job are getting stored in the following tables
    /SAPAPO/LISLOG
    /SAPAPO/LISMAP
I think here you should able to find out all the information per product , location. As the respective information is available in tables, you can use them in ABAP program.
I hope this will help you.
    Amol

  • Errors in Forecasting

    Hi Experts
Errors in forecasting helps us for decent accuracy.
We have 6 errors which are MAD,MAPE, MPE, MSE, RMSE & ET.
Can you explain importance of each error in forecasting?
I found MAD and MAPE are used significantly to judge forecast. If we take multiple products in the selection ID which error is use to measure accuracy. What is the significance of MSE,RMSE,MPE.
I tried statistical forecast in DP, the historical data is very random and dynamic,i have taken Historical data for 36 months and generated forecast for 12 months.
The output of the forecast is constant even i tried with different Alpha, Beta & Gama Values. But no use its showing constant forecast.I used Auto Model selection 1 and 2.
But as far as my understanding, system should give same pattern as historical data but in our case system is giving constant forecast.
    Please advice.
    Regards
    Vicky

    Hello
Your question is about Forecast Accuracy Measurements
I give you some information from SAP SCM DP Help about this moment:
Univariate forecasting allows you to measure the forecast error in six ways:
    Mean absolute deviation (MAD)
    Error total (ET)
    Mean absolute percentage error (MAPE)
    Mean square error (MSE)
Square root of the mean squared error (RMSE)
    Mean percentage error (MPE)
The system calculates the forecast errors by comparing the differences between the actual values and the ex-post values.
Use the forecast error measurements to help you evaluate the accuracy of the forecast.
You select them in the univariate forecast profile. To set upper limits for the forecast error measurements, use the Diagnostic group in the univariate forecast profile; when a limit has been exceeded, the system issues an alert.
You can also select the forecast error measurements on the demand planning desktop, under the Errors tab of the Forecast view.
You can find defenitions and formulas for all this errors in SAP SCM APO DP Help. Search it by term Forecast Accuracy Measurements.
    Hope it will help you.
    Best regards, Andrey.

  • Forecasting models and errors

    Hi Expeing
I have following queries with regard to the forecasting Techniques:
1)How can we identify the periods in Seasonality? How to judge the seasonal periods to be taken for running the seasonal forecasting models?
2)How the errors are used in judging the forecast? As we have 6 errors what is the importance of the errors(MAD,MAPE,MSC,MPE,RMSC)?
What error should be taken as consideration while forecasting?
Why some planners  only consider MAD and some planners only consider MAPE ,MSC while judging the forecast models? What is the difference between MAD,MAPE,MSC,MPE &RMSE
Please throw some light on the above questions.Your reply is highly awarded.
    with regards
    sai

    Dear Sai,
No answer can be exhaustive .I have tried to explain as short as possible.
For Identification of periods of seasonality ,it is important to clean the historical data from abnormal high and low sales.Abnormal high sales can be caused by sporadic opportunities and low sales may happen due to natural calamities. These unnatural sales should be removed in consultation with business people to get clear picture.
Seasonal variation is measured in terms of an index, called seasonal index. It is an average that indicates the percentage of an actual observation relative to what it would be if no seasonal variation in a particular period is present
    Measuring Forecast Errors
    Method and Purpose
Mean squared error (MSE): Measures the dispersion of forecast errors; large errors get more weight than when using MAD. Therefore, it is sensitive to non-normal data contaminated by outliers, and such data are common.
Mean absolute deviation(MAD):Measures the dispersion of forecast errors.Measures the size of errors in units. Though it is a good measure for single product forecast, but if we aggregate MAD over multiple items, there is a possibility of high volume products dominating the results. MAD is a linear metric for error and gives same weight to all errors , large or small.
Mean absolute percent error (MAPE):Measures the dispersion of forecast errors relative to the level of demand. It measures the size of error in percentage terms. A MAPE of .19 suggests that on average the difference between the forecasted and actual values is 19%. MAPE is scale sensitive and therefore meaningless for low volume data or data with zero demand periods.
RMSE:The quadratic error provides estimates that are more linked to variance and standard deviation of demand distribution. RMSE is a quadratic metric for error and tends to overweight large errors.

    Samir Baruah

  • Error Saving Localized Settings mean?

In the last month or so, I have received the following message when trying to open videos on the web and even my local weather forecast:
    "Error Saving Localized Settings
Application is unable to access your file system "
I get it in Safari (6.0.5) as well as Firefox.
    What does it mean?

    Good morning:
This is not a new problem as evidenced by some web blogs going back three years.
It started when I disabled Java Script......the victim of a lot of cautionary items on its security issues.
Then odd things wouldn't play such as the hour-by-hour temperature display on a local TV station's site.
And occasional video links off reputable news sites. But not Youtube.  Safari and Firefox are both afflicted.
I enabled Java, repaired disk permissions (which I do on a regural basis) plus a few other tricks I know.
Upgrades, etc., all  up to date.
    No luck.
I have had three I-Macs over 13 years and Apple Care for 12 of those years.  Gawd how I miss 'em!
    I'll try your suggestions.
    Thank you!
