Certain Apps Quit before they start.... I'm stumped

Recently I have discovered that when I try to open certain apps: Starcraft, Cabos(open source Limewire clone), Diablo II, and most other third party apps, said apps bounce a few times in the dock and then just quit (before even opening). I have no problem opening Firefox, Mail, iTunes, or really any other of my most commonly used apps, but certain ones just don't seem to want to open. I have no idea what makes certain apps immune to this problem, but it has caused me a great deal of frustration.
I would appreciate any insight into this problem, frankly I'm stumped.

In addition to Barry's good advice:
Create a new account, name it "test" and see how your apps work in that User acct? (That will tell if your problem is systemwide or limited to your User acct.) This account is just for test, do nothing further with it.
Open System Preferences >> Accounts >> "+" make it an admin account.
Let us know and we'll troubleshoot this further.

You've checked the purchase history on your account to see what app(s) they are from ? If you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases. And you haven't got any auto-renewing subscriptions : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098 ?
If you haven't made them, and nobody else has access to your account or devices and may have made them, then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

Stoping loaded files before they start

I have a preloader that starts to play clips for about a
second before they are stopped - they are seen and heard for that
brief period of time during the preloading, which does not look
very good. The preloader is based on the MediaLoader class by
Macromedia from a few years ago - it is instantiated, passed an
on-stage holder clip, and passes back an array with references to
the clips in the on-stage holder clip once completed. There is code
to stop the clips inside the loader object once onLoadComplete is
called.
Does it sound like a design issue, or is this typical of
preloaders, or what?

I have had a similar problem where users are uploading 40! attachments into an ADF app. Because it is a one at a time approach I was in disbelief that they had sat there and done that in the first place! I was considering limiting them to selecting *.zip files enforcing them to zip before upload. This would reduce space requirements, upload time and also number of up/downloads of the files.

Apps quitting before launch

Some of my applications quit before launching. In particular, firefox, bitorrent and pokerpages.
I looked at the other thread but it didn't help.
I tried doing the permissions repair and the preferences deletion but neither helped.
I tried looking at the console log. It doesn't do anything for firefox and on bitorrent I get

I tried checking out that folder, but it is empty and when I try to make a new folder I get an error message (-51)

Its not the fonts, but when I tried doing the cache corruption bit and put in my cd, I restarted and held down the C key until the logo appeared. But then the logo distorted itself and stayed that way for a long time (10 minutes or so)
I'm planning on just deleting everything and trying to start from scratch again. Any other suggestions?

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Trash any all of these files & reboot...

Certain apps quit unexpectedly

hello there...i been having this problem for quite some time now and its starting to annoy me. once in a while if i'm using a certain application...for instance safari, it will quit unexpectedly and the message comes up...application quit unexpectedly and it gives me the option to reopen, close or report. this problem usually happens on safari since i do alot of web browsing...so what i did is i clicked on the report button and i copied all the info into my text app and saved it to my hard drive in case if someone can help me and needs this info. if there is anyone that can help i really would appreciate it. thanks in advance...oh and by the way...i would've posted the file but i did not see an upload option to upload the file containing the info...

One thing you might try is erasing the Safari preference file - sometimes they become corrupt and can cause Safari to crash here and there. Go to ~/library/preferences and delete com.apple.safari.plist. Safari will create a new one next time you bring it up, and you'll need to reenter any preferences you changed previously.

Apps not downloading - they start then drop out

I trawled through all the forums/discussions and questions on the support communities but are yet to find a solution.
In brief: I am overseas but usually based in the UK (not sure this will have any bearing on the issue but still), my apps on my iPhone 5 were not updating - this has happened before twice but I managed to resolved those issues those times, so I deleted them all with a view to reinstalling. So far so good.
I did that and then when I tried to reinstall from my phone's App Store, I find that the process starts but within a minute or two I get a message telling me that the app can't download at this time. I did manage to download two apps but they other 10 or so errored in this way.
Also, I can download apps onto my Mac but they don't seem to be synching (via the Cloud) with my phone and they used to work fine.
I've rebooted/reset and pretty done everything I can think of and still I can't download my apps.
I'm pretty much stuck because I need to download Whatsapp and Viber asap - until them I'm pretty much incommunicado.
Very much appreciate it if someone out there can shed some light.

I know this will sound pretty obvious but did you try a hard reset on your phone. Close out all the apps, hold the home and power button and do a fresh restart. Also try restarting your router. Let me explain why I'm suggesting this. My sister's phone in her place would randomly stop connecting to the app store, cancel downloads on the App store for no reason.
We tried everything, restoring it, doing a fresh install, swapped the phone out. Still nothing. Took it to my place and no issues which was even more puzzling. She couldn't even connect when on 4G. Someone suggested I do a hard reset of my router and phone at the same time. For some strange reason that solved her problem.

Why do certain apps crash before I get to use them?

I've been using the apps: Viki, Crunchyroll, and DramaFever for a long time now. But not too long ago, they all stopped working at the same time. When I tap on the app, it crashes or boots me out before I can even use it. I thought it was a technical issue with the people who runs the app, but that wasn't the issue. I read comments over the app saying it worked fine, so I'm guessing it is my phone. Any solutions please? I am running an iPhone 4 with the latest iOS.

Did you try powering your phone off (by holding the power button until you see the "slide to power off" slider), then turn the phone back on and try the apps again?

My ipad will not connect to App Store plus I can no longer get into my bingo app. Do I need to restore my ipad, and if so, if I back it up, will I still keep all my levels completed on my apps or will they start from the beginning?

Please help, I an unable to update any apps on my ipad through the App Store. It will not connect. Also, I am no longer able to log in to bingo bash app and my towers app will not connect either. If I restore my ipad will that fix the problem and if so, will my apps return to levels I am currently on? Ex. Level 346 in candy crush or will I have to start it all over? It worked fine until we left a week ago for vacation and would not work on hotel wifi. Did not work when we returned home.

Configurator 1.4.3 causing certain apps to crash on start-up

I am using Configurator 1.4.3 and while I have things set up the way that I want for our high school iPad cart, there are two apps that will ask for user authentication and then crash when you try to open them. The apps are Nuclear and Nova Elements (both science apps). When I put in our username and password (which it shouldn't even be asking for to just open the app) the app just closes itself back to the home screen.
I installed a default settings profile on the iPad and the apps still wouldn't open. I unsupervised and factory-reset the iPad and installed the apps without using configurator and they open fine, so something in configurator is causing the issue, but I don't know what. I haven't had problems with any other apps on the iPad, so I don't know how it could be a setting preventing the apps since all the others work.
Any insight would be appreciated.

I notice you haven't called Adobe support--unless you overlooked mentioning it. That is what I would do at this point. Without knowing just what apps you have on and all the facts of your configuration, it will be a matter of mostly guesswork here. That it hangs on ui.dll may give Adobe support the clue they need to troubleshoot it.
Here's one solution that might work. Set up a dual boot system, putting nothing but LR on one side--no internet, just the bare bones. Put LR on alone. Then add programs you may want to use with it, one at a time. If that solves the problem, LR will also run faster--in my case about 1.5 times as fast. Sorry, I can't be of more help.

IPhone apps close before they even open.

When I was on iTunes I did a system update and now all my downloaded apps won't open.

Ipod crashes with some audiobooks - before they start

I have downloaded some free audiobooks from the itunes site and when I try to play them on my ipod, the ipod crashes and I get a black screen with the apple for a while.
This is somewhat annoying for me as I bought the frakking thing to listen to books!

IPod Touch No Content and apps Quit immediently after opening them

My iPod touch second gen is just over a year old and has the 3.0 update and now at 3.1.2, the problem i am now facing is that my ipod touch is randomly telling me i have no music and no movie content and when i access my apps they quit before they even open. all other things such as pictures and web and email still work. i'm on holidays and am shortly about to go on a 1 day train trip home and my computer is at home and my ipod is playing up again. the only solution i found was that if i re-sync either my music or my movies it makes my content come back but only for about a week.
Please give me either a solid answer on how to fix it or tell me what exactly causes this to happen.
please spare me of detials on if this happens to you because ive found hundreds of forum sites on this topic filled with people talking about his happening to them and no answer on how to solve it.

I have a first generation iPod touch and have loved it. I was having problem accessing WiFi so I updated itunes to 9.0 and the touch to the 3.1.2. Since the computer I originally synced to has died I synced it to another computer in my home. I didn't worry about losing my apps as there were all free and I figured I would just download them again. I now have WiFi and email however, now that I have tried to install facebook and a few other apps, they all crash before they even open.
I have tried:
installing apps and then restarting my iPod,
resetting my iPod,
restoring my iPod (twice with no success),
installing the apps through itunes and then syncing,
the only thing left would be to restore not using my backup. I dont' want to do this as I have all my contacts and information that I don't want to use.
Can anyone help me or should I just go get a blackberry?
