Certain artists arent showing up in my artists section

all the artists on my itunes that are from compilation albums don't show up in the artists section on my ipod.
Is there anyway I can change this?

There are usually two things that contribute to songs not appearing under Artist on the iPod, both due to information either in or missing from the Get Info>Info tab against the song in iTunes. 1) the song is incorrectly marked as part of a compilation (and you have Compilations enabled on the iPod) or 2) the song has no album name associated with it.
if the tracks are ticked in the Get Info>Info tab as part of a compilation, they will not appear under Artist on the iPod. Highlight a song in iTunes that you know is not appearing correctly on your iPod. Right click on it and choose Get Info and click the Info tab (alternatively choose Get Info from the File menu), if "Part of a Compilation" is marked untick it and afterwards update your iPod, you should find it now appears as normal. If you are using iTunes 8, in the the multiple items info box the compilations setting is in the "Options" tab. Setting "Compilations" on your iPod main menu prevents you getting lots of single artist entries when you load an album by various artists.
Also if the tracks are missing an Album name in the Info tab, this information needs to be filled in. The no album one is a bit quirky as the songs will appear under certain circumstances (for instance I read somewhere that if you have at least two tracks with different album names the rest will appear), however the simplest remedy is just add None or Miscellaneous to all the blanks in place of a title. A few artists of mine will not show up in the Artists section of the iPod, but their albums will show up in the Albums section. When I play the album, the artist is displayed correctly on the Now Playing screen. How can I correct this so that the songs are visible in both the Artists and the Albums sections?

How do I get songs from certain artists to appear under the "Music → Artist

How do I get songs from certain artists to appear under the “Music → Artists” menu of my iPod if some of the artists songs have album information and some don’t?
For example, I might have a full album from an artist, and then a single track from the same artist, but without an album tag. When I go to “Music → Artist”, the single track without album information will be gone. The only way I can find the single track is if I go to “Music → Songs” and find it in there.
I have thousands of MP3s, and finding songs by artist is my preference. Is there any way I can get all tracks to appear under the Artists menu without having to add album information to every single track?

From what I understand (thanks to forum member PT for this), once you add a second album name for that artist even for a single song, ALL the rest of the songs should now show up under that artist, even those without album names.
Providing the spelling for the artists is exactly the same of course.

Is there any way to play certain artists in iTunes?

Lets say, in my entire iTunes library, I'm only feeling like listening to one, certain artist. How can i just listen to this only artist without having to manually choose each song?

IPod crashes when I click in certain artist

I posted this in the 3g forum but I guess this one is more suitable, so if a mod would like to delete the other one that would be great.
Ok, this has never happened before and my phone is new. Not even a month old. Anyways, I synced some new music onto my Ipod and now when I click on a certain artist(Lady Gaga), it freezes for a second and crashes.... I'm extremely worried about this. And it only happens when I click on Gaga. The weird thing is, when I click on her name the first time, I goes fine, but then I went back and did the same thing, and it crashed. I even tried removing the new songs I added of hers and re syncing it and nothing. My phone isnt old at all so I dont know whats wrong. And I dont know if this makes a difference, but last night, I plugged in my phone when the battery was less than half and about a minute after i plugged it in, the ''full charge'' symbol appeared(which I thought was odd of course, because it hadnt even been in for a minute), but when I unplugged it, I was back to being less than half full.
Edit:I forgot to mention that sometimes when I sync my phone, my computer freezes and when I plug it in a ''MobileBackup encountered a problem..'' message pops up....
Anyone think they can help me out, please? (I'm very un-techy, so if you can dumb it down for me as much as possible, that would be very helpful)

I did think that so I removed the new gaga songs I had added and still nothing. Could it maybe be a totally other artists song? Because the songs worked fine before.

My son is having a problem whereby he cannot load songs by certain artists (in his case kings of leon, manic street preachers, oasis). But if he renames them they will load ok. I am assuming this not to be a DRM issue (otherwise DRM would be a bit pointless if it was that easy to bypass).
Ideas anyone?

Edit: It's the ARTIST name that he just needs to change to make it work.

Surely if the location is wrong then no album would work.
With certain artists, WMP will report ERROR in the status column, when you perform a Sync.
With some other artists, it displays STOPPED.
In either case - rename the artist, to something George W Bush it will then sync.
But, and here's the puzzling bit, most artists work fine.

When I download my i tunes music from computer it does not keep my greatest hits albums from certain artists together it scrambles them with other artists is this because of the way I have my music library on my computer set up.

J'ai un problème dans l'app Musique: certains artistes ne sont plus dans l'ordre alphabétique! Les artistes commençant par la lettre M se retrouvent dans la lettre L et ainsi de suite, mais pas pour tous! J'ai beau re-tagger, les supprimer puis les remettre, pourtant rien n'y fait! Je suis sur que mes tags sont juste, sans espace, sans bizarreries! Quelqun connaît se problème?
J'espère que quelqun pourra m'aider, parce que ça commence à me chauffer tous ce différent bug depuis IOS5!

J'ai en effet testé la fonction d'export en .fla qui "résoud" le problème,
mais rajoute une étape de plus dans ma production.
Le Document natif In Design ne comporte bien qu'une seule page, ducoup
je m'étais effectivement posé la question de lecture de différentes pages par le Flash Player…
au vu des nouvelles fonctionnalités (FlipBook) — en veillant bien à cocher page active au cas ou.
Mon document In Design n'est pas compliqué en soit, il s'agit juste d'un Tableau avec des données chiffrées,
c'est ce que je n'arrive pas à comprendre car tout fonctionnait bien "avant". J'ai fait tout de même fait un test en cochant Export HTML pour voir le rendu et là tout est correct cependant le Swf n'est pas "imbriqué" comme dans ma composition...
Peut-être y'a -il d'autres réglages que je ne saurai trouver ?

We'll assume for now, that all the songs and albums in your iTunes Library are correctly labelled (dangerous assumption, by the way!), and that a Compilation album is one with songs by different artists. Unfortunately, the music industry (bless their little cotton socks!) often mark an album by one artist, that has a collection of their songs from old albums, as a compilation! iTunes doesn't think it is!
The missing artists will be those who only appear on Compilation albums. For example, if you have one song by Fleetwood Mac in your Library, and it's on a multi-artist Compilation album, then Fleetwood Mac will not be listed in the Artists menu. But, if you then import a Fleetwood Mac album (or even a Fleetwood Mac single) into your Library, then not only will Fleetwood Mac appear under Artists, but the song by them in the Compilation album will also be listed.
One way to sort this out is to remove the Compilations option from the Main Menu and the Music Menu on your iPod. To do this, go to Settings/Main Menu/Compilations and press the Select (centre) button to turn off the tick. Then repeat this in the Settings/Music Menu/Compilations.
You should now find the missing artists listed in the Artists menu.
By the way, I now routinely check all albums I import from CD into my iTunes Library. Before I start the import procedure, I make sure that Compilation CD is turned on (highlight the album in the import window and right-click/Compilation CD) if it really is a multi-artist CD - and off if it's a single artist CD. Once imported, I manually change the album info to; (highlight album and select ) File/Get Info/Info/Album Artist has "Various Artists" in the box. Make sure it's the Album Artist box, not the Artist box.

Certain characters not showing

I'm having a problem with certain characters not showing on Safari. Some websites are okay, but others, like Livejournal and babynames.com, only show about four characters per word. On some message boards, certain characters such as parentheses and capital L do not show up when I type them, but show up fine on the completed post.
What is going on? Do I need to download a new copy of Safari, switch to Firefox, or can this be fixed?

Apparently it's getting worse. There are eight more letters that don't appear.

"Music - Artists" section displays names of songs.

Whenever I click on "Music" and then on "Artists" is displays all the songs on my iPod (and not the artists). All the other sections on my iPod display the information they are supposed to, except for my "Artists" section. I have done the "r" list many times and have even erased the program completly from my computer and installed everything again. But it still keeps messing up.
What do I do?
