Certain fillable PDFs will not open correctly in Acrobat DC
An example of a problem form:
http://armypubs.army.mil/eforms/pdf/A31.PDF
This can be used in Acrobat for Windows, but on Android it just gives you a warning page saying something like "If this message is not eventually replaced..."
It won't open in other Android readers wither, but one reader gave a little extra information, saying that the error was being caused by the use of proprietary XFL extensions.
Anyone know how to fix this, or if Adobe will address it in the near future?

Photoshop CS6 PDFs will not open in Adobe Acrobat
Photoshop CS6; Windows 8
I've been using Photoshop to create reduced size PDFs. I've never had a problem with CS6 until the passed week. When I click to save for PDF no "error" dialogue box appears. However, when I try to open the new file in Adobe Acrobat reader a dialogue box says "Out of memory". Also, in my windows explorer, the file shows up as just a white box in the "Preview" side panel.
What am I not doing correctly all of a sudden? I've been sticking with the same preferences and Save settings since I first started using Photoshop CS5.Have you updated Acrobat/ Adobe Reader recently? If so, this update may have introduced a compatibility issue in the globally shared Adobe PDF libraries. Either that or the update never went through properly and now you have a botched Acrobat. Do otehr PDFs from different sources open? If not, that would be a strong hint that you may need to reinstall/ repair Acrobat. It's also possible that you may have enabled sandboxing in the Acrobat Security prefs (or an update did) and thus Acrobat refuses to open certain files, if it can't determine their origins. One more thing that comes to mind: Have you tried saving the file twice in a row under the same name? Sometimes this stuff happens too fast (on SSD drives and such) and Windows doesn't update file security info in time (or your virus scanner can't keep up) and the resulting file is useless. Overwriting it with the same file would then yield correct results.

Double clicking file (.pdf) will not open associated App (Acrobat)
Hi All,
I am having a problem with opening .pdf files in that double clicking does not open the Acrobat Application.
• This just started happening about a month ago.
• Once I open the app manually, double clicking the file works fine
• I have associated .pdf files with 'Adobe Acrobat Pro.app' both through the Get Info 'Change All' button as well as trying the Open With 'Always Open With' method.
• I have associated .pdf files with 'Preview' and this works fine in that double clicking a .pdf file open within Preview at any time including when the app is not initially running.
• I have repaired Disk Permissions several times
• I have upgraded to CS4 including a new version of Acrobat during the period that I have been having this problem, and the same issue has remained (ie so happens with Acrobat 8 & Acrobat 9)
Does anyone have any suggestions? I can get by with leaving Acrobat open all the time, but would prefer to keep apps closed as much as possible.
Regards,
RossFor some reason those associations are corrupted. Try clearing out the Launch Services caches, then reassign it to the correct app and let us know. Launch /Utilities/Terminal and copy & paste this at the command line to rebuild LaunchServices:
Code:
<pre class="alt2" style="margin:0px; padding:3px; border:1px inset; width:640px; height:34px; overflow:auto">/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchSe rvices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user</pre>
Then press return. Wait until terminal returns to the command line. Quit Terminal. After that, log out and back in or restart. Let us know

Weblinks pdfs will not open with recent install of Version X1?
Weblink pdfs will not open using the newly installed Adobe X1 version. How to fix?
Gives message suggesting problem with reader and ends with 103:103Hi Gordon,
Can you please try opening the following PDF: http://samplepdf.com/sample.pdf.
Do try to open it in browser by clicking the abobe link and in Adobe Reader itself by Right-Click on link->"Save link as".
If you still getting these error, uninstall Reader using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html and reinstall Reader from http://get.adobe.com/reader. -
I downloaded the new iphoto and the upgrade and now iphoto will not open correctly anymore. it stays on the opening screen and the message
shows up that I must update the mediathek. If I click on update the program shuts down. How can I fix this?I downloaded the new iphoto and the upgrade
Does that mean, you are running iPhoto 9.6 on MacOS X 10.10.1 Yosemite? Or are you using an older MacOS X? "New" iPhoto is relative and depends on your system.
If I click on update the program shuts down. How can I fix this?
Does "shut down" mean it crashes? Then post please the error log from the error panel here - copy and paste the report into your next answer (the first 50 lines should suffice)
Where is your iPhoto Library (Mediathek) stored? Have you moved it to an external drive, or is it still in your Pictures folder (the order "Bilder")? -

I have uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times, but I still have the same issue. Adobe automatically gives me the Norwegian version as I live in Norway. When I open existing pdf files they appear empty, and automatically close themselves after a few seconds.
Any idea how I can solve this problem?
Your input is highly appreciated!
Thank you.
RThank you so much for your swift response, Pat! The first step – accepting the Eula license agreement solved my problem ☺ ☺ ☺
Wish you a great day – you just helped making mine a lot better!

My iphoto will not open correctly. All I get is the little wheel going around and around. What do I need to do to fix this? I would like to be able to see my photos again.
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have. -
Interactive PDF will not open online with IE
I have been using ID 5.0 for a year creating interactive PDF publications. All of the sudden the PDF will not open in any version of IE. Works fine with Chrome, Safari...
I have unistalled ID and reloaded but that did not help. I have changed versions of IE with no improvement.
Previous publications onlie still open fine, its just the current publication that has the issue.7y6
Anyone have any ideas?
CrissymarieThat sounds more like a settings problem or missing plugin in IE than anything else.

I have Adobe Design CS6, suddenly a simple PDF will not open. Noting happens when I doubleclick either the file or try to open Adobe Acrobat X Pro ?
Hi Jenny, I just had to do that, for the 3rd time. It is a pity though when one pays for such expensive software that this happens, specifically when the only Adobe help is to tell you to post your problem on a forum and hope someone can help you. Not good enough and not what I expected when I bought it. I am so disappointed in Adobe.

PDF files on FTP will not open correctly
Our PDF files open fine from local hard disks, and http locations. However, We are having trouble opening PDF files from a FTP server. After double-clicking on the file, the Adobe 'grey' background loads, and nothing else. At first time it opened fine in all computers, but afterwards it will not open. If we download the files from the server, the same file opens fine. We have tried in different OS like XP, Windows 7, windows 8 with different browsers. same problems occurred.
In all cases, the installed adobe reader was Adobe Reader 9 and above(9, 10&11). After we got one solution that to disable "Protected mode" in reader settings. If we disable protected mode, it is fine.
But the issue is, we have to provide those PDf files to our customers through our website. So we cannot disable it in customer's pc. Any alternate solution for this problem?
Why this problem occurs? How we can overcome from this error?I cannot reproduce this problem with Reader 11.0.2 in Firefox 20.0.1 or IE8 on Windows XP (Protected Mode enabled).
The document I am accessing is ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobatreader/win/5.x/enu/reader.pdf
I have no problems access it mutliple times. -
All my pdf documents have turned into firefox html documents and will not open correctly
All my pdf documents have suddenly become firefox html docs & will not open unless I go into the folder, right click, 'open with', etc. I haven't changed any of my settings. I think firefox did an update yesterday, however, so I'm connecting it with that, possibly...
Try this:
# Right click your PDFs, click Properties
# Go to the General tab
# In the '''Opens with''' section, click the ''Change'' button
# Select Adobe Reader (or Foxit Reader/Whatever PDF viewer you use)
# Click Apply then OK.
Does it work then? -
I recently downloaded the latest version of adobe reader, jave and the newest firefox version. I think 3.6.4 (but i could be mistaken). Ever since my firefox updated today 3/8/10 it has stopped opening pdf's in browser. All i see is a blank screen or sometimes just the loading blue bar. It will not open. I do not have this problem when i try an open the same files using internet explorer.
See if the solutions in this article help to solve your problem: [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]]. For more information on using Adobe within Firefox, see [[Using the Adobe Reader plugin with Firefox]].
