Certain pages text doesn't appear properly--how do I reset

On Certain pages (craiglist.com) the text doesn't appear correctly...the best way to describe it is the text appears as strange characters and is illegible. In addition, the characters are squished together. Is there a way to reset something? I've already tried emptying the cache, reset safari, enlarging/reducing font size.

Make sure you get rid of the fonts Helvetica Fractions and Times Phonetic if you have them. Also clean your font caches with FontFinagler (use Google to find it).

The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

Arabic text doesn't render properly when export to PDF

I am having problem with exporting Arabic text to pdf and it doesn't render properly. The whole content render properly expcet the white space; the funny charater has been replaced to white space.
Does any one having that problem?
Note: I have tested with using both Crystal Report Designer XI and Crystal Report 2008 which come out same result.

Did you have any luck with the download? The link I sent you does not need to download using username and password.
Additionally I doubt if your company would know what your username and password is for SAP as you got to request SAP to get one.

CSS - main content h1 and p text doesn't display properly

Hi all,
I know this is something really simple, but I just can't seem to get it right. The h1 and the p text in the main content should have left and right padding to display properly (i.e. space on either side so it's not squished against the Accordion Spry), but it doesn't work. It shows correctly in DW, but not online. I'm just learning CSS so sorry for the ignorance! I've tried everything I know and can't seem to get it right. I would appreciate ANY help at all.

The padding and margin are certainly showing in the browser for the h1 tag but you have no padding or margin declared in your css styles for the paragraph tag in the 'main-content' <div>
Add ths to your css styles:
#main-content p {

SPGridView - sorting Dates doesn't work properly & how to display the title column as link?

I've got a SPGridView that is being filled with data from several lists. Some of them are a date-field and a title-field. I already added sorting, paging and filtering options and at first look they seem to work fine. But now I noticed that sorting dates
doesn't work as expected. If I select ascending sorting, the result is something like this:

If I select descending sorting, the result is this:

This isn't what I want obviously.
I just added the EventReceiver for the sorting like it is shown in several tutorials:
(The date field is a BoundField.)

And my second problem is how to add a link to the title column. In my grid I'm displaying tasks from different lists and I want to link the title to the related task. I stumbled accross HyperLinkFields and tried this:

The actual link should look more like ...sites/MySite/Lists/mytasklistname/DispForm.aspx?ID=.... or something like that to display the task details. How could I achieve that?

Create calculated column.
Insert following formula -
="<a href='"&UrlFieldName&"'>"&Title&"</a>"
Set "data type returned from this formula is" to integer.
As a result on list view you will see the title with link to your url.
UPD: It seems that URL field is not valid for calculated column, as workaround you can copy url value in a receiver into the another text field, which is not shown on the view.

Quicktime w/ composited text doesn't encode properly

I've created an Applescript that will get the dv datecode and create a quicktime movie with the texted added as an additional video track (composited over the dv footage). It plays back and looks fine in Quicktime Player and the iDVD previews, but when the assets are encoded, the text track doesn't display.
Does anyone have any ideas about how to achieve this? I've tried ffmpegx, which will encode the video somewhat properly,but the aspect ratio is incorrect.

Special TEXT doesn't appear as it should when published

I used a spiffy font on my website, but after it's published, it doesn't show up on Mac or PC. It reverts to some arial-type font. I used to be able to keep the font by putting a shape over it and making it opaque, but I don't remember exactly how I did it - especially because I tried it again and it didn't work Can somebody please help?!!

To turn a font into a graphic, you normally add an invisible amount of shadow to it.
Your special font cannot be seen on any machine where that font is not installed unless you convert your text into a graphic.

Overlaid text doesn't render properly in the iPad

Overlaying text on top of already rendered areas causes erratic rendering on the iPad. These are NOT issues on Sarari running on my Windows 7 desktop.
Issue 1 - the overlayed text renders correctly but at the end of the loop doesn't re-render
Issue 2 - the overlayed text renders correctly but doesn't allow the rest of the movie to play.

Devanagari/Hindi Text Doesn't Render Properly

I was so hoping that HIndi text would render properly with the 3.0 upgrade. Sadly it is still broken.

Ideally it would be great to have a keyboard input method, but it is sort of embarrassing that the iPhone can't render web pages (like www.bbc.co.uk/hindi/) correctly.

Just loaded program. Typed text doesn't appear.

If I highlight the text I can see it is there but once unhighlighted it disappears.

There are two things to do that solve a lot of problems with the iWork ’08 &/or ’09 apps in Snow Leopard.
First, use the Mac OS 10.6.7 combo updater. This fixes a problem with fonts that is not fixed using the delta update (10.6.1 > 10.6.2). Then download & run the 10.6.7 font fix updater here.
Second, make sure your iWork applications are updated. For iWork '08 that is Pages 3.0.3 & Numbers 1.0.3. For iWork '09 it's Pages 4.0.5 & Numbers 2.0.5. If you're not running the latest versions & Software Update says your software is up to date, make sure the applications are where the installer initially put them. The updaters are very picky. If the location is not where the updater is programmed to look or if the folder doesn't have the name the updater looks for, it will not work. The applications cannot be renamed or moved. They must be in the iWork '08 or iWork '09 folder in Applications. That iWork folder must be named iWork '08 or iWork '09. If it doesn't have the '08 or '09 Software Update won't find them & the updaters won't work.
Also, deleting the program's preference list is the #1 trouble-shooting step with any misbehaving application. Go to HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences, delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist, empty the Trash & then restart Pages. Repeat with Numbers & Keynote. This needs to be done for each user.

Hi I am doing ageing report - ageing period not coming properly- actually base date should be added with additional months(t052-zmona) depending on payment term (t052-zterm). if i give 12 months its adding as 12 days with basedate . so i need the code to convert the months into days and then add it to basedate.anybody please help me. thanks.

Azure unloads your site if it is idle for the standard 20 minute timeout, which can cause slow responses for the initial site users after it is unloaded. Enabling Always On essentially causes Azure to automatically ping your site periodically to ensure
that it remains in a running state. Always on is not an available option on lower end plans.
However in Basic or Standard mode, you can enable Always On to keep the app loaded all the time.
It is not a known issue, I suppose in theory it could consume more CPU cycles and thus could require the deployment of more infrastructure.
Couple of things you might want to check :
- Increase the Instance count
- Check the Monitor Tab in Azure Website to see how much of CPU, DataIN and Data Out time is taken for a request to the site.

Firefox pops up an error message on certain pages, all other browsers work fine, how can I make firefox ignore the "error" [e2219] css init error: ReferenceError: g is not defined

Basically I want to replace the Ajax Control Toolkit Slider in favor of the Component One Studio for iPhone Slider for better mobile/desktop consistency (the ajax slider doesn't work well with iPhone). I created a simple page that works on every browser and platform (iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows) except Firefox, which fails on every platform. I have already tried disabling all plugins (safe mode) and clearing cache, I have also tried this with different versions of Firefox on different platforms. I posted this error on the Component One forum but since this only occurs with Firefox I believe this is a Firefox issue.
I searched for this error on the forums and Google but didn’t get any results:

Visit the same URL with IE, Chrome or Safari and there is no error. If I click [OK] the page loads normally enough for me. Is there some JavaScript or CSS line I can put in the page to make Firefox ignore the error? If so that would be great because even if there is a fix put into Firefox itself there will be those millions of users out there that will not upgrade.
