Certain pages will not load correctly (Low bandwidth)

All of a sudden, some web pages in firefox will NOT load up correctly. They seem to be low bandwidth or mobile versions of the actual page. My home page, including ebay and a few others are starting to do that. It is only characters, without images or pictures, and everything seems enlarged on the webpage. Ebay has fixed itself however other pages remain like this. Google chrome displays them correctly. What is going on? (ive put ONE of the pages below)

Check the version of Pages that you have. Many users are finding problems with the iWork apps in Snow Leopard due to not having the latest updates as of the September 28 installed. For iWork '09 it's Pages 4.0.2 & Numbers 2.0.2. iWork '09 has since had update 3. I don't use Keynote, but it should also be updated. If you're not running the latest versions & Software Update says your software is up to date, make sure the applications are where the installer initially put them. The updaters are very picky. If the location is not where the updater is programmed to look or if the folder doesn't have the name the updater looks for, it will not work. The applications cannot be renamed or moved. They must be in the iWork '09 folder in Applications. That iWork folder must be named iWork '09. If it doesn't have the '09 Software Update won't find them & the updaters won't work. You also should consider updating Snow Leopard to 10.6.1.
After applying all of the updates use Disk Utility to repair permission.

  • I don't believe firefox is the issue but for some reason pictures and certain websites will not load correctly. Why?

This just started happening a few days ago. When I go to facebook the pictures are distorted and nearly impossible to discern who is in them. I also go to many different websites that do not load correctly. Not sure if it's java, adobe, or something else but it makes browsing the internet not fun. HELP!

I have the same problem. It seems to be due to FireFox 4.0 being unable to load certain embedded content, which Firefox 3 was able to load properly.
I've been having problems loading any website that includes embedded content from worldnow.com, for example.

  • Site loads locally without problems, certain pages will not load when live...

I am currently designing a website for a company I work for, and i am having some problems getting the site to work live.
All files where built up from a single file i made some time ago and so all definitely use the same base coding etc... but when they are loaded onto an FTP server, some of them just give me the "Download flash" icon. None of them should load any files from any external sources and I have run out of ideas... can anyone give me a hand?

Hello Meevinman, try to disable your firewall(if you have one) and your antivirus(antispyware etc.) and check it again.
you said : ...."I'm sure you all will have fun with this one : ).." , i like people you always see the bright side of life

  • Certain pages will not load, others will?

Hey all, I apologise in advance if this is the wrong part of the forums.
I can access a wide variety of pages on Safari, however there are a handful that simply won't load (they time out). Also, uploading photos has been taking quite a long time which has never been a problem in the past. (By the "past" I mean the days before yesterday.)
I was wondering what the cause of this might be. I've attempted to open the same pages in Firefox and load pictures in Firefox, same problems occur. Could it have anything to do with the fact that I've messed around a lot with the AirPort/Proxy settings in the past, or because I just got home from another state... and somehow that is affecting my connection? I really have no idea why this is happening, however any tips/hints would be greatly appreciated (especially those regarding reverting Network settings to default and possibly using a proxy).
    Thanks in advance!

    HI,
    Try Open DNS
To change proxy settings, open System Preferences/Network. Click the Advanced button.
Select the Proxies tab. On the left side where you see: Set a protocol to configure, Deselect any buttons checked there, click OK, and Quit System Preferences.

  • Webpages will not load correctly on any browser

    Hey all,
About 3 weeks ago I took the leap and upgraded my works PC from Windows 8 to 8.1 (as a test before doing the rest). Unfortunately since this time I've been continually encountering a major issue.
This issue is that webpages will not load correctly (about half the time). Since the day I upgraded I've had issues with this, across all browsers. Sometime a webpage will load, sometimes it'll partially load and sometimes it seems to have loaded but actually
hasn't (I.e. none of the links/inputs work). If I have an issue on a page, the only way I can get it to load is to click the stop button, navigate away from the page and then navigate back.
I've tries assessing the problem with Firebug and it seems that the HTTP transfer is being cut-off at a certain point (which is non-consistent). The webpage is then stuck in a state of 'Transferring data' and will never finish loading.
I've been looking around for answers and have come across some suggested solutions like running the All In One fix from tweaking.com, or flushing the DNS cache every few hours, but nothing is working.
Has anyone any suggestions for how I could fix (or even further troubleshoot) this problem?
    Thanks
    David

Photos from the Internet will not load correctly. I get white boxes with blue question marks inside. This has only been happening for the past 3 weeks so I'm not sure why it is happening.

Yes - email & text work fine but when I use something like Google Images or search a blog with imbedded photos I get the empty white boxes with question marks.  If I click the question mark it opens the photo but I can't possibly do that for EVERY image on EVERY page I search!?!?!  I've rebooted the iPad & my wireless card several times but neither action helped.  Have any clue what I should do now?

  • Recent iOS update has made my iPad 2 unusable. The screen locks up. It's very laggy and web pages do not load correctly.  Is there a fix for this or are they even working on a fix.

Recent iOS update has made my iPad 2 unusable. The screen locks up. It's very laggy and web pages do not load correctly.  Is there a fix for this or are they even working on a fix.

    Try some basic troubleshooting:
    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

  • Pages do not load correctly in Win8

From time to time, when I go to a webpage, it will not load correctly. It will look as if the CSS file has not loaded. Gmail won't load at all; it gets stuck at the loading bar. I'm using Firefox 18, Windows 8 x64. The problem also happened with 17. It does not occur on any computer besides my Windows 8 machine.
If I clear the cache of the last hour, the problem is fixed temporarily. If I ctrl-F5, the problem is fixed temporarily.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. I have deleted and created a brand new firefox profile. I have cleared all caches and cookies. I have used the "Reset Firefox" button under the Troubleshooting Information. None of these have fixed the problem.

So far after about an hour of testing, Windows Safe Mode has resolved the problem. However, since I do not know the cause, I cannot intentionally cause the issue to crop up.
I will say this: I already have Windows Defender and Firewall disabled during normal use.

  • Since the update loaded on my computer my web pages will not load and i get invalid url message

Ever since firefox updated to 17, my web pages will not load. When I type in the search bar and hit the enter button, the address switches to https and i get a message stating that my page is an invalid url and the following message
    Reference #9.1db78443.1354339468.3c70717c
I have cleared my histories and cookies and restarted my computer but cant get it to work.
I can type in www.google and go directly to the google page and then gain access to my pages, just not through the firefox address bar.

  • I can make a WiFi connection but pages will not load. WiFi works for a laptop using windows

I can make a WiFi connection but pages will not load.  WiFi works ok on a laptop using Windows.  I have reset the WiFi settings but this makes no difference.

Thanks, Linc, but  that almost helped:
Because the retina 15 only has a wifi connection (no ethernet), that's the connection I'm stuck with for the notebook. But on the 27iMac, I did have both ethernet and wifi enabled. When I turned the wifi off on the 27, therer was a brief moment when both computers were showing their counterparts when I tried to make a network connection. BUT, after a few seconds of 'searching', the computer I was trying to connect to disappeared from the Network list.
So I tried the opposite; the retina can only connect thru wifi, so that's a given. I swithched my ethernet off and then enabed the wifi on the 27 and ....same thing: When I try a network connection, there are a few seconds of 'searching', then the ony option I'm left with is share screen, which doesn't work either.
I've read the 'dropped' network is a problem with the retina, but the odd thing is that I never lose my internet connection—that continues to work fine, as does Air Drop—but I can't seem to connect, network-wise.
Any ideas about the dropped network?

  • In Firefox 18.0.1 on Windows XP, pages will not load until I hit reload

In Firefox 18.0.1 on Windows XP, many pages will not load initially. They will sit, blank, with the little spinning circle. If I hit reload, they immediately load. I have verified that all plugins are up to date (AdBlock Plus and Web Of Trust) and that I have the latest version of Java. I also have added Firefox as an exception to Windows Firewall, and verified that no proxies are set.
