Certain text letters have a yellow background

Using Arno Pro (Light Italic Display), I get a yellow background when I type (for example) the letters "T" and "h". Other letter combinations are ok, it is just certain combinations.
Changing the letters or the Font fixes the problem but what is causing this one? t dont have any special FX or kearneling, spacing etc.
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Hi Blade,
All it means that InDesign has had to break the rules you specified for the paragraph in the Justification dialog box--the minimum, maximum, and desired values for word and letter spacing. This doesn't necessarily mean that the spacing is bad--just that you're outside the range you specified there. It's a kind of reminder for you to look at the line and decide whether you want to make adjustments to the spacing.
Thanks,
Ole

This has been common problem.  Hopefully they get a new OS released soon.  Until then, if a battery pull doesn't fix it, I would consider downgrading the OS.  Follow my instructions here:

  • Acrobat 9 Pro - Pale Yellow Background?

I have seen similar threads to this before but never with a satisfactory explanation/resolution so I'm going to try again! When printing .pdf documents opened using Acrobat 9 Pro to a Lexmark laser colour printer, I get certain areas of text/image printing with a pale yellow background - this seems particularly to apply to parts of the documents which were originally .jpeg images or template text, or in extreme cases for a scanned image which has been converted to .pdf the whole of the document background can be pale yellow! This seems to be a transparency issue related to the settings in Acrobat 9 Pro, because if I open the same documents using Acrobat Reader 8 and print to the same printer using the same print settings then the problem disappears and the backgrounds are white (transparent?) as normal. This is a maddening problem!! All it seems to need is the right settings clicking in Acrobat 9 Pro to set the transparency to the right level, but I can't find what they are - can anybody help?

    Hi All - Breaking news.
I Tried an experiment. The pictures and logo in question were all "Jpg's" I saved my logo as a "gif" and it does not now have the yellow background problem in either word or when I convert to a PDF.
    Can someone please advise me..
When I am making logo's or images and or photographs for print and the web, what is the best format to save them in. (please bear in mind that I am an enthusiastic amature.

  • Text on some sites flash with yellow background

Since upgrading to 3.1.1 I've noticed that some pages have text areas that flash with a yellow background when loading or when an ad on that page changes. Huffingtonpost.com is the most common offender, but it has happened on other sites as well.
The yellow background "flash" seems to be contained within a box or frame in which the text sits. It's brief and then the background reverts to white.
Just to be clear, I'm not referring to any graphic that is Flash-based. I mean an area on the page that flashes a different color before reverting to its normal white.
    What's going on?

    Any reason ?

This Problem is solved. As i think this problem was to coming because of google ToolBar install.
It has one property "Auto Fill", Go their and off the HightLight Check Box.
I think these problem used to come when you have Google Toolbar and Field name like state or Postal Code or Country.(I am not so sure about this sentense)

  • Firefox won't print 'highlights' made by a marking tool on a form. I have enabled 'Print backgrounds' options and the yellow image overlays print fine in other browsers. Is this a setting within windows 7?

I am trying to print a document through Firefox. We have a Form view / marking tool to make these image overlays to make highlighted boxes on the document.
It prints the yellow 'highlight overlays' fine in all other browsers and in OSX using firefox, but the highlighted boxes won't print in Firefox using Windows 7.
I have the 'Print backgrounds' option checked in Firefox settings.
    Please advise.

  • How to create transparent text on a solid color background?

I want to create a transparent text on a solid color backround, and I need text transparency to go all the way to through the image (i.e. do not show the solid color background). I have the transparent background layer, the solid rectangle layer that occupies part of the image, and the text layer (with text element) on the top of the solid rectangle layer. How do I make text transparency to go all the way through? Here is a similar example for Photoshop CS, only in my case, the backround layer is transparent (i.e. there is no picture): http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-effects/transparent-text-area/. Basically, I need to make the letters see through, so they show the backround color on which the image will be placed. Is it possible to do in Photoshop Elements? I'm using version 9 on Windows 7. Thanks.

Thank you all for the suggestions, especially 99jon. 99jon's walktrhough is helpful, but I was hoping to find a workaround that would allow keeping transparent text that goes all the way through all other layers to transparent background as a text level, but once I flatten the image, I'd lose the text layer, so I cannot make any changes to it (like slightly change the font, size, style, face, etc). Let me clarify a bit what I'm trying to do to see if there is an even better option.
Say, I need to have a 300x300 pixel image that (forget about photos) consists of a solid-color circle (circle can be white, black, red, blue, or any solid color, or gradient, does not matter) on a transparent background, and inside of this circle I'd like to cut out a word (say, the word "TEST" with no bevels or other decoration, just flat font) all the way to the transparent background. I just need a circle with text cut out and showing around the circle and through the word "TEST". So if a circle is white and I place the image on a blue background, the word "TEST" would be in blue (so would be the area around the circle).
Is there a way to set it up to allow changing the color of the circle (say, from white to black, or blue, or red) and keep smooth edges of the text (and circle) blending with the background (i.e. avoid jagged edges) without redoing every color variation from scratch? Like, getting some master file which would define size and position of the elements,a s well as font, etc, and from this master file, use simple adjustments to change the color.
Ideally (in my dream world), there would be an option for the text element to be of transparent color that would go through all layers below it. But there must be a not too complex way to do this, right?

  • Media encoder didn't export my yellow background from AE in black

I have a composition in After Effects CC with a background color yellow. If I make a rendering in AE with AVI format, all is ok but the file is very heavy. But if I use Media Encoder CC and I export in any format, my yellow background become black !!!
1 month ago, I still had the CS6 version is everything worked perfectly. Sorry for my English...Thanks

After a couple of hours going through the registry and every folder and file inside "Program Files--Adobe--Media Encoder CS5" and trying to find the problem, I did.
Thing is, the ExportAVI.prm plug-in file wasn't missing, it was there in the "Plug-ins--common" folder together with every other exporter and importer file, it just wasn't being loaded by AME for some reason. So i found a folder named "txt" and inside it there was a file named "AddExporterList.txt" which I opened and, as you could probably imagine from its pretty self-explanatory name, it contained a list of the exporter files that AME was supposed to load, and the AVI one wasn't on the list.
I wasn't sure wether it was best for me to edit that text file and add the AVI exporter to the list or just delete the damn thing, so i checked on an older PC with the CS4 suite installed in it and the "txt" folder didn't even exist, so I just deleted it and opened up AME again and it loaded every single exporter .prm file including the ExporterAVI.prm of course and it works just fine now, so that's a load off my shoulders, hope this might help someone else in the future.

  • Yellow background on bookmarks

When I open the iBook on my iPad and type on a link, the iBook goes to the page with the bookmarked text. Momentarily, the bookmarked text gets highlighted by a yellow background and seems to "pop out".
Does anyone know how to change this? You can change the style of hyperlinks, so shouldn't be there a way to change the style of bookmarks?
    Hope, you have any suggestions!

Sorry, I don't want to change the colour of the hyperlink.
    My problem is:
By typing on the hyperlink, the text which I defined as a bookmark, gets highlighted and "pops out" for a short time.
I noticed that this only happens on the iPad 3. On iPad 1 the iBook only jumps to the page with the bookmark and nothing else happens. Don't know, why the iPads react on hyperlinks in different ways.
Is there anybody who has the same problem?

  • How can I detect a certain text within a field within CASE using IF

    Dear all,
for a transformation / generation of values receiving from R/3 into BW I try to
manupulate three fields. I have a problem detecting a string in a field.
I am using a CASE with several WHEN clauses on one field. Depending on the
value, an IF is integrated. There I look into another field evaluating, if it contains
a certain string. E.g. IF STRING CP 'xyz' OR 'abc'.
System gives error for the locigal expression. I also tried CS, but same error.
How can I detect a certain text within a field and which is the right logical
    expression.
    Many thanks in advance!!!
    Claudia

    Hi,
    Folow the blow example...
    May be it helps....
    DATA: hex1 TYPE string,
          hex2 TYPE string.
    hex1 = 'FFFF'.
    hex2 = '123FF'.
    IF hex1 CP hex2.
    ENDIF.

  • HP Color LaserJet CP1215 - Color printing - Page prints yellow background

Good morning --- I don't believe I have posted to this forum before, so I hope someone can help me solve this issue.
    My CP1215 color LaserJet -
    printing pref set to color-
printing a document with colored icons, etc. or color photograph
Results: the "background" or what should be the white area, is yellow - bright yellow.
If I switch printing pref to B/W, I get a black/white document or photo.  Of course, no color.
I have replaced the yellow toner cartridge (HP product) TWICE, the second one just this morning.
    There are NO error messages.
Tried running the cleaning tool; disconnect/reconnect, etc.  No luck.
I gave up trying to solve this issue 2 years ago, and have kept the pref set to black/white with no tech issues.
Now, however, I have the need to print in color, and I would really like to figure out how to correct this problem.
This printer is a monster - ~30 lbs or more, and I would rather not have to haul it to a computer shop or ship it.
If anyone out there has had this problem, please let me know how/if you were able to resolve it.  Many thanks.
    Susan - Threecats

    Hi Threecats
I understand when you print in color you are getting a yellow background.
I have included a document for troubleshooting the all yellow background printing.
Print out a configuration page from Solution eight first. This document  will provide steps for cleaning and calibrating the printer. The Print quality troubleshooting page will identify the print cartridge that is causing the issue.
Let me know the results when you compare it to the one in the document and if the background printed yellow again. Also the Print quality troubleshooting page results.
What kind of paper are you using?

  • Putting logo letters on screen without background or edges of color

    Hi,
I'm trying to put a logo on the bottom of the screen of a video and I'm having some trouble. The logo is a pdf file of a white rectangle with words on it. The people in charge want the words to only be on the screen without the large white rectangle surrounding it. I was able by accident to get rid of the rectangle, however the edges of the dark blue letters and the light blue letters had edges of white on them. They want it basically like I stamped the letters on the bottom of the screen. I don't know how I got rid of the rectangle, it involved the dropper icon from the color option on the Filters tab of the viewer but I was left with white edges on the words. I want to know how to make the white rectangle background transparent. I'd also like to know how I can make the white edges on my blue letter either go away or how I can possibly color them so they are the color of the letters. Please help me if you can.

    Hi -
Do you have an image editing program like Photoshop?
    If not -
Remove any filters you have applied to the clip of the graphic in the timeline by Control - Clicking on the clip and selecting Remove Attributes from the drop down menu. In the window that open click on Filters and click OK.
Now go to the Effects Tab and select Key > Luma Key, and drag that effect to the clip of the graphic on the timeline.
Double click on the clip that now has the Luma Key filter applied, and in the Viewer click on the Filters Tab. Make sure the Key Mode is set to "Key Out Brighter".
You can adjust the clipping of the letters by adjusting the Threshold and Tolerance Sliders. You now should have the white background removed and the letters displaying fairly cleanly.
If it is not clean enough, go back to the effects tab and select Matte > Matte Magic and drag the Matte Magic effect to add that effect as well to the same clip.
You can adjust the sliders of the Matte Magic filter to smooth out and feather the edges of the key,
    Hope this helps.
